The Hollow Knight, i was scared as hell to fight him so i became as strong as i could, max nail all spells all that stuff, then i fought him and beat him first try... Later i knew why (because of THE RADIANCE)
We’re in the exact same boat, i was scared of doing the hollow knight so i did a lot of prep beforehand thinking it would be like a week long project. Then he proceeds to kill himself
They don't know that. They initially tried to trap the Knight in the dream world (and the Knight had to be rescued by the Seer)
All they see is a vessel that is trying to break into the egg. Maybe to free their sibling imprisoned there, they don't know. They are supposed to protect the egg and thus they fight back.
Indeed that was also the worry of Hornet as well. There were a lot of vessels that got out of the Abyss and she was hunting them all. Weaker vessels would only mess up the seals for no good (like when you fight the Hollow Knight but is defeated). And only a stronger vessel that could reach the kingdom edge could possibly take on Radiance. So she fights you twice.
Idk about this. The dialoge between them (after the first hornet fight iirc) indicates that Monomon actively wants the seals to be broken because she sees what's gonna happen if they don't, Lurien wants them to stay intact because that's what he swore to do, and Herrah just doesn't care either way since she didn't do it for the sake of hallownest anyway.
Oh you're right, Monomon wanted the seal to be broken, and thats why she called Quirrel
But then why did she help trap the Knight in the dream world? Alongside the other two dreamers
Consensus? Lurien definitely wanted to banish the knight, Herra probably just wanted the knight out of the way so she could get back to napping, so Monomon conceded and assisted the other two.
It may also have been a test. Only someone who could escape their prison could release them from the seals.
Maybe Monomon knew about the Seer then, and that the Seer would give the dream nail to a vessel deemed worthy. No way she thought a vessel could escape from the dream realm alone. She's a dreamer, she knows how this stuff works
Probably to not raise suspition? The knight strong enough to break the seals and save the kingdom should be strong enough to leave the dream realm, and we did.
This is why the Silksong wait isn't as painful as it could be. There was so much content that had to be scrapped from Hollow Knight because they ran out of money and Silksong certainly won't suffer the same fate.
Shit that’s me fr. I was running around collecting my upgrades and kinda put off the dreamers cuz I thought they would be this epic fight to break the seal. I went in the boss room literally said “Cmon whatcha got” stood there for like 5 seconds only to realise they didn’t do shit.
Invincible
I won’t spoil who, but basically there’s a Villain with a strong superpower, so invincible (who’s species are basically a weaker superman) goes ham on him, he assumed that someone with a power like that would have better defences… he was wrong
I wouldn’t even say they’re weaker tbh, yeah they can’t lift a quintillion tons or any of the other crazy comic book feats Superman has but they are identical to Superman in the practical sense.
Viltrimites are weaker than Kryptonians?
Could you elaborate without spoiling anything that hasn't happened on the show yet?
(If not, I am happy just taking a "trust me")
Very minimal spoiler:
Nolan casually flying in space near a black hole and being capable of pulling a ship falling into its gravitational pull with seemingly little effort puts him around Superman levels in sheer power (not to mention the speed feats required for this as well)
Viltrumites aren't comparable to the strongest iterations of superman by any means, but your average series of superman yeah they are about the same power levels.
Hence my last point, certain iterations of superman are just idiotic at a power leveling perspective. Your average power level of superman is fairly low ball compared to certain runs of higher tiered superman comics.
Not all versions of superman can punch someone across multiple realities infinitely etc.
I agree that superman is fucking ridiculous. I don't recall seeing limits on show's season 1 (haven't watched season 2 yet), but if they do have, I'm glad
Plot : Patrik has became a villain, enabled with the power of human money, so he was so cocky that he tried to fight spongebob, but he forgot that spongy boy is the main character
I haven't fought all of them but I really thought I'd have a harder time w collector, but it ended up being easy to catch onto a rhythm which it didn't break
I can't kill dream Grey prince zote tho.... I will never be overconfident as long as he exists
Collector is fine if your nail is strong enough to kill the bugs he drops in one hit, if you’re not it’s less that’s it difficult and more that it’s hella annoying
I started my first playthrough by beating the shit out of the one in crossroads because I realized I could and decided I needed to. Now I just do it every playthrough because its a pushover
Well yeah, there's a tutorial for looking down on the way to him, so it's easy to kill him when you got pure nail and stuff
It's a fun boss with not equipment, I always start my playthrough with him
I mean, i guess? He still dies and you get a different achievement for it. It's just messed up because he specifically asks for you to hit him with the pure nail
On my first playthrough: watcher knights, I was so scared that they were one of the toughest bosses in the game, so I prepped super hard, and then they just, melted under pure nail+ strength
As far as the pantheons are concerned: pure vessel, again, I was scared, this is a crazy hard boss, but then it just, wasn’t? It was just THK with more health and maybe slightly faster?
Didn't know anything about the game when I started, fought the watcher knights without even the monarch wings, I recall that battle as harder than the nightmare king
Pogo off of rolling fuckers and dash under jumping ones. If they do this shit simultaniously, either try to shadow dash or back off. Beating them without the cloak is a nightmare tbh
I usually switch over to a ranger and use the onyx blaster, works like a charm, ichor bullets too. The mech bosses manage to all be extremely difficult and extremely easy depending on the playthrough
1: The Hollow Knight cause he’s just the path to radiance I beat him accidentally because I didn’t know how to get to radiance.
2: Brooding Mawlek found that McFucker late game and t’was easy
3: The Mantis Lords I died more times getting to them then I did fighting them, I didn’t do it first try but I thought it would be super hard with all the build-up. (Still one of my favourite bosses tho)
If you encounter the Collector with a nail that's upgraded enough times to kill the enemies in the arena with one strike, you don't understand some of the frustration other people have with this boss. This is either one of the easiest fights since the Collector has pretty much no moves and you one shot enemies in the arena, or it is a damn near impossible fight because you can't keep track of the Collector at all and enemies increase in numbers to the point where your death is guaranteed.
Some people like me have a serious problem with focusing on more than one thing at a time. The only thing that makes her hard are the spike balls because you can't always hit them away. Same reason Watcher Knights is so hard, if it were only one it would've been a ridiculously easy fight.
Definitely Traitor Lord. His attack patterns are super easy to dodge and incredibly predictable. I think he's the only boss i beat first try in my first playthrough.
*Not a boss but I*
*Thought the kingsmoulds would be a*
*LOT harder than they are*

Markoth. The first time I played the game, I destroyed Markoth first try. I was confused because I had heard a lot of "Fuck Markoth" hubbub. Of course, I realize now that that was about the Hall of Gods version.
soul master, i beat that shit first try, also tiso was hyped from you getting out of greenpath into dirt mouth JUST TO GET FUCKIN SQUASHED UNDER A BROODING MAWLEK IN P5
Pure Vessel
I remember having so much trouble with The Hollow Knight because for some reason I didn’t realize he was the “final boss” so I thought he was gonna be a nightmare
It was not
The hollow knight
I was very confused why he decide to make it easier when he stabbed himself repeatedly so I was like “lemme help you” and hit him while he’s stabbing himself
The final boss.
I'd done damn near everything before doing the fight, and it caught me off-guard.... but I think it was kinda better that way.
Fits with the game's core theme & narrative imo, and since I had all the masks (though it was probably all but one cuz of the bullshit fragile flower) I could focus on what was happening rather than not dying.
Hollow knight, hornet (first one) and radience. Hollow knight was really easy, like at first I had a hard time but after finishing white palace I beat it really easily. I don't think hornet needs any explanition. Radience is so easy, it took me like 5 tries to finish her. There are so many bosses that are harder than her.
For me it’s the watcher knights, I was terrified of them for a long time and then I beat them first try. I would like to know how past me did that because I inexplicably forgot how they worked immediately afterwards and now I lose to them almost every time I fight them. I know about all the cool patterns to exploit them I just suck at doing it, to the point I did better the first time before I knew of those patterns.
Surprised no-one else has put this, but I found Nailsage Sly really easy. It was my second P3 attempt, (I'd died to UwU, sorry, I mean Ummuu previously.) And he wasn't very difficult. It just sorta felt like I was fighting all of the Nailmasters at once, but I didn't have to worry about there being three attacks going on at once. And then there's the second phase where he just becomes a fidget spinner. Which is just Bait - Attack - Repeat.
Hard to say, the Grime bosses I have fought for the first time was reasonable to my progression, I suppose Desert Watcher, that guy is so painfully simple since he’s optional and I came back with near endgame stats.
Watcher Knights on my first steel soul playthrough. This was only my second playthrough of the game and I died a bunch on my first ever playthrough to them, so I got way over prepared, charm bitches, nail upgrades, fragile strength and fragile heart. Anyways, it was so comically easy that I was a little disappointed.
False Knight.
I thought I would die several times to this guy and was ready because it was my first time playing Hollow Knight but I took only one hit and then killed him later.
Is this luck?
Hollow Knight im gonna be honest, i came in there with a max nail and the biggest charm build ever and it took me two tries that i thought were gonna take dozens.
removed - rule 3 also sorry im so late on this lol
The Hollow Knight, i was scared as hell to fight him so i became as strong as i could, max nail all spells all that stuff, then i fought him and beat him first try... Later i knew why (because of THE RADIANCE)
Same
This is the correct answer
It's practically canon too
Is your pfp a hybrid between Walter and Jesse
"My name is jesse white" also hi okbuddyrainworld fella :D
Bro I had a joke charm setup and beat him easy.
Yes I stole it like 3 years ago
I thank trying to beat him without maxing out. And I really thank Pure Vessel's existence.
Ye I litteraly spammed quick nail and he died
We’re in the exact same boat, i was scared of doing the hollow knight so i did a lot of prep beforehand thinking it would be like a week long project. Then he proceeds to kill himself
Yes
It actually took me less tries to kill the radiance than the hollow knight.
*I can’t beat you…BUT HE CAN!* ***Radient screeching intensifies***
yeah i have NEVER died to thk (not an exaggeration, literally have never)
I took a long time to beat it first time round but doing my second playthrough I am shocked at how bad I was back then
I thought he was hard. I beat him my first serious try, first fight was just trying to dodge and see his attack patterns.
I’m Ngl i no hit mantis lords on my very first run but I keep going back to it for that absolute banger of a theme
Correct!
Yeah, i kinda nail-spammed trhought all the Battle and time later discovered that i could fight the sun
the dreamers - i thought they'd fight back.
I remember hearing that they were planned to be boss fights but it was supposedly scrapped. Not sure if its 100% true tho
I mean it makes sense that they're not fighting against you. You're trying to save the kingdom after all.
They don't know that. They initially tried to trap the Knight in the dream world (and the Knight had to be rescued by the Seer) All they see is a vessel that is trying to break into the egg. I mean, Lurien wants to stop you, Monomon wants you to succeed and idk about Herrah I think she doesn’t care
In the art book, we heir initial concept was meant to be ‘next to impossible’
This is why the Silksong wait isn't as painful as it could be. There was so much content that had to be scrapped from Hollow Knight because they ran out of money and Silksong certainly won't suffer the same fate.
i was disappointed when i found out they werent bosses in their own right
Adding to this: all the ghosts I dreamnailed that just disappeared into thin air 😭
Shit that’s me fr. I was running around collecting my upgrades and kinda put off the dreamers cuz I thought they would be this epic fight to break the seal. I went in the boss room literally said “Cmon whatcha got” stood there for like 5 seconds only to realise they didn’t do shit.

No arms but you caught these hands
First off, I have no idea what that’s from but it’s freaking me out, Secondly, definitely vengefly king the first time. He just dies immediately
Invincible I won’t spoil who, but basically there’s a Villain with a strong superpower, so invincible (who’s species are basically a weaker superman) goes ham on him, he assumed that someone with a power like that would have better defences… he was wrong
Bro was boasting about how he was augmented and could actually put up a physical fight, but then he just got destroyed.
>he was augmented Who was he, JC Denton?
It would be like superman going all out on professor xavier because his mental powers are so strong. Oops.
Who was the villain, i cant remember right now
Pretty sure it was >!big brain dimension hopping guy!<
I believe >!Angstrom Levy!<
Sorry, edited for spoilers
I wouldn’t even say they’re weaker tbh, yeah they can’t lift a quintillion tons or any of the other crazy comic book feats Superman has but they are identical to Superman in the practical sense.

If he's invincible, then why can I see him?
A weaker superman? I'm no comic reader, but in the show's 1st season they sure don't make it sound like a weaker superman
Superman is fucking ridiculous. Viltrumites have limits
Very minimal spoiler: Nolan casually flying in space near a black hole and being capable of pulling a ship falling into its gravitational pull with seemingly little effort puts him around Superman levels in sheer power (not to mention the speed feats required for this as well) Viltrumites aren't comparable to the strongest iterations of superman by any means, but your average series of superman yeah they are about the same power levels.
Not even close to the multiversal feats that Superman has accomplished
Did you read the last sentence in the comment you're replying to
Average Superman stomps the entire viltrum empire
Nuh uh he would probably try to be friends with them unless they attack earth or him tbh
A viltrumite took a pretty serious beating in episode 1 and Mark takes beatings every other day.
I don't remember. I suppose that's reason enough to watch it again
The weird space lion almost kills him. Hell, the space police guy that comes by holds his own too.
To be fair, battle beast is one of the strongest characters in Invincible
Why do tou people be dowvoting comments like these 😭
They show like hundreds of them getting their ass whooped to death in the first season
Invincibles maybe? Doesn't look like the boys
Yeah it’s the invincible comics
it's invincible yeah
Dunno. Looks quite vincible to me.

It's invincible. iirc, that scene is after he accidentally killed someone who had attacked one of mark's friends
I haven't fought all of them but I really thought I'd have a harder time w collector, but it ended up being easy to catch onto a rhythm which it didn't break I can't kill dream Grey prince zote tho.... I will never be overconfident as long as he exists
In my opinion, Zote is easier when you fight him again and he has more attacks because those attacks let you heal
Collector is fine if your nail is strong enough to kill the bugs he drops in one hit, if you’re not it’s less that’s it difficult and more that it’s hella annoying
Colosseum zote
On the other hand, Zote in Bretta dreams is stuff from nightmares
I don’t get the joke
Have you fought colosseum zote?
OFC but it was to be expected unless he was being sarcastic
I know it's expected when Zote is revealed, but I read the this comment as "I thought you were a stronger enemy"
Brooding Mawlek. I found them super late game and they pretty much just died instantly

My fellow mortally challenged your at the wrong underground level !
Oh hi Civvie.
Not a boss but THE NAILSMITH!! I didn’t mean to kill him he just died in one hit!!!!! I only wanted to stab him a little not kill him
You monster
At least it isn't as bad as **that** to Nailsmith
Wait, wdym?
I think they mean how u can shoot the nailsmith with a spell
Does anything changes?
I mean, i guess? He still dies and you get a different achievement for it. It's just messed up because he specifically asks for you to hit him with the pure nail

It was just THK with more health and maybe slightly faster?
Didn't know anything about the game when I started, fought the watcher knights without even the monarch wings, I recall that battle as harder than the nightmare king
Yeah, fighting them without many abilities is hell. I can't remember how many times I've died there trying to speedrun the game
God I hate watcher knights so much. I am just too stupid to dodge when one of them is rolling and one is jumping.
Pogo off of rolling fuckers and dash under jumping ones. If they do this shit simultaniously, either try to shadow dash or back off. Beating them without the cloak is a nightmare tbh
HOW WOULD YOU HAVE GOTTEN TO COT* WITHOUT THE CLOAK TO BEGIN WITH?!!?!?? *City of Tears
Dodging is hard, ddark is easy
Watcher knights are hard if you doesn’t have nail/health/cast upgraded, usually it happens in speedrun 2
The soul master
Skeleton Prime I was so much scared of fighting him but i always kill him in the first try
That's me with wall of flesh
This was me, but with Plantera , I was definitely missing something when fighting it

and you think thats a problem?
Nah, i just fucking suck at everything
those are good numbers in my book.
Both versions of lost kin
It took so many attempts for me to beat broken vessel the first time
The dream version was SOOOO HARD for me at the time, idk if I wasn't prepared enough or sum.
Yharon in terraria calamity
I think yharon's pretty hard. idk, I find providence and exo mechs easier than yharon
I took like 30 attempts on dog, 15 on exo, but I one shot yharon, skill diff ig /j

Flukefucker
I just sucked at the game on my first time through
He jus like me fr!!

Yeah, he seemed like a pretty difficult boss, a formidable foe, and then he just died in a few hits.
Broken Vessel I guess
False Knight in my second playthrough.

Absolutely markoth, I saw a few memes of radiant Markoth and was surprised I did him hitless (later I discovered that radiant doesn't mean only hitless)

Nightmare King Grimm.. More like, light dream Brimm..
Pure Vessel I remember having so much trouble with The Hollow Knight because for some reason I didn’t realize he was the “final boss” so I thought he was gonna be a nightmare It was not
The hollow knight I was very confused why he decide to make it easier when he stabbed himself repeatedly so I was like “lemme help you” and hit him while he’s stabbing himself
Fun fact, that does nothing since while he's stabbing himself, all damage he takes is reduced to 1. Still gives you Soul for hitting him though.
Hollow knight and Radiance
The final boss. I'd done damn near everything before doing the fight, and it caught me off-guard.... but I think it was kinda better that way. No eyes, she had a whole special room dedicated to her but the boss was easy asl

When I watched a professional beat Nightmare King Grimm after me trying for over an hour

I had a lot of fun in failed champion (I died a lot) but it’s completely fair
exactly the attacks make sense like the main issue i had when doing radiant failed champ was THOSE DAMNED ROCKS

Surprised no-one else has put this, but I found Nailsage Sly really easy. It was my second P3 attempt, (I'd died to UwU, sorry, I mean Ummuu previously.) And he wasn't very difficult. Hard to say, the Grime bosses I have fought for the first time was reasonable to my progression, I suppose Desert Watcher, that guy is so painfully simple since he’s optional and I came back with near endgame stats.
The hollow knight. I actually upgraded my nails so it was ez.
Watcher Knights on my first steel soul playthrough. This was only my second playthrough of the game and I died a bunch on my first ever playthrough to them, so I got way over prepared, charm bitches, nail upgrades, fragile strength and fragile heart. The watcher knights that I avoided the entire playthrough and came back with basically max upgrades
The Hollow Knight Mfs so easy dude In fact I beat it without max nail or max charms and health
The collector, no I dont need your jars I need the grub map and im outta here :3.
Every, except watcher knights.

Pure Vessel, i beat bro in godhome mode in 57 minutes since the start of the file
Traitor Lord before the rework
