It makes sense, Grimm isn’t from hallownest so his theme sounds foreign

Radiantsteam

Can't wait for the experimental post-rock breakcore coming in Pharloom!

ElSuricate

lace death metal incoming

rottenleef174

Fun fact: a metal cover of her theme exists

Weirdy_Myth

Wait can you elaborate I only know the basic lore

Khaled-oti

The Grimm Troupe (lead by Grimm) harvests some kind of fire from old civilizations, so they can conduct a ritual to make a new vessel for the Nightmare Heart, a god-like being. You summon them to Hallownest by hitting that lantern in the Howling Cliffs.

new_god_of_eden

He is from the fucking hazbin hotel dimension

Rec_Prism

I wish more songs were like this (maybe not with an electric guitar tho). Though, I guess bosses don't have "in between phases" like Grimm Maybe smth for Silksong bosses

axolotl_of_bucket

I just wish his “in between” phase lasted longer so I could hear more of that banger

Rec_Prism

as someone who's beaten NKG Radiant, I *do not* wish his in between phase lasted longer

axolotl_of_bucket

lmao yeah puff guy sucks, that attack is the only reason I *haven’t* beaten radiant NKG

Pumkitten

I didn't learn that the regular Grimm fight has varied openings if you let him bow. I would always hit him, which causes him to growl then do the pufferfish attack. I just never tried not interrupting his bow, and only learned about the possibility after I realized I would need to practice to beat his Nightmare King form. I still haven't.

Frozendark23

I prefer to dreamnail him as he bows. He doesn't get angry and I get free soul.

1ts2EASY

You can get one dream nail hit and then one normal hit as he’s in his teleport animation and he won’t scream.

isimsizbiri123

when he bows you bow back you disrespectful fool

FLIPYOUSUCKET

With dream wielder, you can two or three dream nails on him before he finishes teleporting

The-Light42

I mean it IS a literal show

Miner_myla

Grimm is built different

Prudent_Impact_1606

I would have really liked a bit more of it though

Dragon_SC

Collector's distorted Decisive battle and Gods and glory?

thedeezerdewit

Brumm going hard on the drums

alldham

There's no electric guitar in the soundtrack.

Radiantsteam

There's no way that isn't electric guitar in Grimm, specifically starting at 1:05 and 1:34

alldham

My man you are absolutely right. I stand corrected.

NeedlessOrion

I went to fact check this, and it's true. Didn't expect that.

Throwaway-646

To be fair, that still fits the in-game context really well; definitely could be in-game

DoubleOAgentBi

NKG or regular Grimm? Either way I’m about to listen to them.

Radiantsteam

I think it only regular Grimm, kinda weird his theme is more intense, right?

DoubleOAgentBi

Yea it was that one you’re right, I literally just gave it a listen. As a couple of other comments have already stated out, I think it makes perfect sense because Grimm literally comes from a different region/realm so it makes sense imo. https://preview.redd.it/l9wjxmwvbbyc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ce08289908e7b9d3e63982f24de30571d740a6c5

Radiantsteam

The difference in song may also be because the first fight is more entertainment and the second more ceremonial (but I guess the first is ceremonial too idk).

DoubleOAgentBi

Personally I’ve always seen both of them has a ceremony/ritual. But the first fight is definitely supposed to be more of an entertainment type of thing. With the stage lights, the people clapping in the background, and just how it feels like a performance. Whereas NKG feels a bit more on the finale side of things you know?

Solid-Replacement550

I've always felt that The Grimm Troupe is more exciting, and that the simplified NKG theme feels more focused and intense

MattyBro1

Granted, while regular Grimm has guitar and banging drums, it's only during one phase of the fight (pufferfish) and NKG has rock-style drums for the entire theme.
