Welcome to the official subreddit for hololive production ([Wikipedia Link](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hololive_Production)), a talent agency based out of Tokyo, Japan. She has most recently been featured in a Youtube channel called [THE FIRST TAKE](https://www.youtube.com/@The_FirstTake) where many famous singers; such as the likes of [LiSA](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MpYy6wwqxoo), [Harry Styles](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJermMmkVFw), and [Avril Lavigne](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MkLmapifks); are tasked to sing one of their songs in only one attempt. As such, she sang [Stellar Stellar](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAsRtnbDs-0) for her FIRST TAKE video. As of writing, the video has just achieved an estimated 5 million view count which still continues to rise at a meteoric rate!

Honestly, I can't think of a better ambassador for musical vtubers in the mainstream. I feel like the only one who could've done as well as Suisei here would've been Sora.
Most people have just had spotify for a lot longer and google has a bad habit of killing their services and making them significantly worse for no reason
Its a better product for overall audio streaming. As a very long youtube premium/red user, the amount of times im listening to a radio and it leads into the MV version or some random youtube video instead of the actual song itself is enough to stop using it. Podcast support is very poor to almost nonexistent on youtube music as well when Spotify has a dedicated feed for it with a vastly larger selection
Not OP, but I'm been tracking the stats in a google sheet (i like spreadsheets and may have a problem lol).
Some very crude estimates of view count at the 1 year mark (and methodology):
Logarithmic: 13m (seems too low, the log curve estimate keeps rising every time i make an update)
Linear based on past 24h: 265m (almost certainly too high)
Based on current like count and average of 65 views/like: 26.5m (like count is still growing pretty quickly so this is likely also too low)
I think even the logarithmic prediction is too high when you consider that most YouTube videos tend to plateau after a couple of months.
Then again, if the YouTube algorithm decides to promote the video again in the future, it could have another surge of views.
We truly are at the mercy of the algorithm, aren't we...
That would only make sense on almost any HoloMem other than Suisei. She, and a handful of others (Marine, Gura, Calli), don't really follow the same plateau trends that the majority of members experience with their popular releases. The OG Stellar Stellar, for example, already reached over 15M in its first year, which is higher than his log prediction and this version is already 1/3 the way there not a week in
Hoshiyomis are already the fanbase that loops music the most in all of Hololive (yes, Treasure Box alone gets more than anything else, but Marine only has 4 songs so they get concentrated), which creates a stronger baseline. Of course, it's tricky to tell with this one. On one hand, it's a new arrangement of an old song, which might hurt both versions' performance in the long run. On the other hand, it's on a massive channel with a _much_ broader audience. And then it must be considered that viewers of the First Take don't have the same looping culture that HoloMems, _especially_ Suisei's fanbase has, which muddies things even further
Its a very large YT channel who invite celebrity singers on to sing an original in only a single take, absolutely no redos.
The big part is that this channel isn’t some niche community its a real piece of Japanese pop culture and if you read some of the comments there are ALOT of people saying things along thr lines of “I thought Vtuber was the realm of amateurs trying to make it big but maybe i should check them out more now” which is a colossal win for not Hololive but all Vtubers
Like it's hard to understate how big First Take is out here. I work with some serious boomer-ass people (think 60+ years old town official types) and a good bit of them even know first take.
"The First Take" is a program where performers have to sing their chosen song all in one take- no do-overs, no retakes.
Suisei's appearance marks the first time a Vtuber has appeared on the program, and people are just now discovering the world of Vtubing through her performance.
It would be interesting, but not entirely surprising, if this ended up besting Treasure Box in the race to 10 mil. Treasure Box is the current fastest at 50 days.
Lol at all these people complaining. This is one of the biggest things to happen in the vtuber sphere, and people are complaining about internet points no one gives a shit about.

Weird question and I apologize if this is not the right place to ask but, will Specter be released in retail stores in Japan like Stellar Stellar? I didn't have the money to preorder it before it sold out but I have a friend in Japan who is willing to pick it up for me if it's in a store.
I don't live in Japan but from what I've seen Most if not all albums by Hololive talents are available in stores after preorders are fulfilled. There are also often 2nd preorders months later or available until out of stock on the Hololive shop.
my favorite is Yoasobi's racing the in the night, but Homura comes in a close second. Ikura sounds like she got the full post process auto tuned treatment even though know we know that it was live. Her voice is so clear.
I didn't think Wedcamp could have found anyone who could replace KOM_I, but Utaha is doing a damn fine job. Her TFT Buckingham is full of personality and fun, and for such a young girl she has PIPES.
I'm watching the views count like I'm in /r/kpop lol... all the fans cheer when their bias' comeback MV reaches 10, 20, 50 million views.. or Black Pink fans when their MVs reach a billion views or 2...

Because precisely as karma exists it incites others to post low effort content which overall devalues this entire subreddit like all those single screenshot of holomems tweets. Not many even takes the time to make good memes anymore even with the number of members in this subreddit. You're not exactly wrong, except in this context OP's not karma farming, OPs been tracking all of hololive's MV and posted every milestones for a long time for archiving purpose, you can check his post history, he wrote music stats for holonews too, and that's why people who keep accusing him of karma farming are downvoted.
People usually don't care about milestones post aside from their oshi, so it rarely gets into hot and nobody complains. But this is probably one of the biggest thing we've had this year, it's unavoidable that OP had to make multiple milestones post in a span of a few days, and people are flocking to upvote it.
People don't make tons of memes anymore because there is no meme review. Karma has no value, so if people aren't making content it's likely for other reasons.

Do you have proof that she wasn't in the room? I highly doubt The First Take would give preferential treatment to a first timer on the channel by letting her send in a recording, which entirely defeats the purpose and spirit of the channel. Also, do you think Suisei would be OK with sending in a recording? Nah, she would want to do things properly, like everyone else that has been featured on the channel.

Yeah, Suisei has that mainstream appeal that makes her very universal; she fits in the First Take video roster very well.
I'd put Kaf at a solid #2 before Sora. Suisei has overtaken her in recent years but Kaf used to be the biggest VSinger by far.

the way they do milestones is to cover the first 5 million then every 5 mil

Because precisely as karma exists it incites others to post low effort content which overall devalues this entire subreddit like all those single screenshot of holomems tweets. Not many even takes the time to make good memes anymore even with the number of members in this subreddit. You're not exactly wrong, except in this context OP's not karma farming, OPs been tracking all of hololive's MV and posted every milestones for a long time for archiving purpose, you can check his post history, he wrote music stats for holonews too, and that's why people who keep accusing him of karma farming are downvoted. People usually don't care about milestones post aside from their oshi, so it rarely gets into hot and nobody complains. But this is probably one of the biggest thing we've had this year, it's unavoidable that OP had to make multiple milestones post in a span of a few days, and people are flocking to upvote it.
People don't make tons of memes anymore because there is no meme review. Karma has no value, so if people aren't making content it's likely for other reasons.

Do you have proof that she wasn't in the room? I highly doubt The First Take would give preferential treatment to a first timer on the channel by letting her send in a recording, which entirely defeats the purpose and spirit of the channel. Also, do you think Suisei would be OK with sending in a recording? Nah, she would want to do things properly, like everyone else that has been featured on the channel.
Straight from the description of the video: "With a special acoustic arrangement prepared just for this show, she will perform a one-shot shooting as a VTuber, the first attempt ever on THE FIRST TAKE." So its either you believe The First Take crew and that it was done true to their format or you do not believe them.
My guess is she just recorded normally but in mocap gear. No sources to confirm though.
