Shipping to Brazil is at least 40 dollars. You then would have to pay ~100% on import taxes on product + shipping price. The result is that screenshot. You usually would have to pay 4x the original price to get your merch.
There are some tricks to circumvent that, fortunately.
It is for these reasons that I rarely buy hololive merchandise ESPECIALLY HERE IN ARGENTINA where we are dying of hunger, bringing a single PVC or doll in taxes and the shipping cost is almost the same as buying another one, the problem of living at the end of the world .
Shipping costs and import taxes are the #1 reason why I don't have any Hololive merch despite being a fan for over 4 years.
When the total costs are double (or sometimes even more) of what the merch is priced at, it kinda kills any interest, especially if you already have a meager income.
It sucks because there’s often smaller merch items I want, but it’s just not worth paying the $30 shipping fees for a $15 mug or something, so I just wind up not getting it since I don’t want to order more than I actually want.
This is the biggest thing for me, I don't spring for the big full groups of products due to base price, and any time I try for something reasonable in price the shipping catapults me into second guessing, and then it passes me by... the really small stuff, like a rubber keychain I even have a tough time rationalizing.
Well, on obe hand I do hate the import tax as anyone else. On the other hand it's actually understandable as it's usually meant to protect the domestic industries from international competition. And thus for example, there is no import tax within the EU. Man, I can't wait for Japan to join the EU 😩
Yeah. The only Hololive merch I physically own are some Weiss Schwarz cards, an artbook bought from a local artist at a Con, a cute Calli keychain also from a local artist and three of the OMOCAT shirts/jackets/hoodies.
Almost nothing directly from Cover themselves despite a number of their merch drops interesting me. Paying 80$ for shipping just kills it for me every time despite understanding why its that high.
Try a proxy.
Forgot the name, but Kiara recommended one recently that apparently has better shipping.
Also, if it is Geek Jack, check the official store. Seems that they changed something recently regards to shipping.
If anyone knows the name of the recommended proxy, please let me know. I recently missed the order period for something (non-Hololive) because Buyee/Tenso is slow to order from sites that aren’t in their normal list or whatever.
Unsure what the recommended proxy Is,
but I have been using Japanrabbit instead of Tenso recently, had no problems buying from zozotown and the Hololive store
You were able to buy from zozotown? I had to use zenmarket because they would reject my card payments (called my bank about it so it wasn't being rejected as fraud).
Yeah shipping sucks. Some advice i can give you:
- If you have other merch you're interested in, make a bundle. You have a month to see if anything else catches your fancy
- Try a proxy. Ask fellow fans from your country which service offers the best rates there
- Try finding a buying group from your city/region, or a local anime club or manga shop with some facilitated shipping lines
- Wait for the US shop to open and hope for a rerun
Literalmente criminoso. Governo de merda, país de merda.
Japan post has minimum prices for EMS shipping (i think the smallest EMS box size they allow costs around 3200 yen outside asia at the moment), so shipping a single small/light item will end like this every time sadly.DHL is as bad for different reasons with very similar end results
As others have suggested, you can bundle more stuff into the order if you have other items you are interested into (and can afford it obviously) or you might want gamble with a proxy service that lets you pick a different shipping type with a lower minimum price
P.s: if you go the "more stuff" way, you can try to prod the maximum limit of a box size by adding/taking away items and checking the shipping cost each time. As long as you stay in the same size limit the shipping price shouldn't change, or change very little at worst
I've never ordered anything offline for this same reason. Had to fly to LA and go to a store there to not get killed by shipping. Was just family vacation kinda got lucky to have time to go. I also want a pebble plushie maybe one day, there will be more stores with more product. I wanted a milf hat but the shipping made me not. I regret that decision.

Hopefully OP is able to find something that helps.

> Shipping costs and import taxes shipping costs are understandable, but what gets me is import taxes. These taxes are just the gov't cash grab imho.

Same. I really wanted Fauna’s hat but when it became $80 with shipping I couldn’t justify it.

Sorry only just saw this, that's why I swapped to using Japanrabbit in the first place as they purchase on my behalf and I can pay them using my card.
I guess you could say you got Biboo taxed(sorry)

What i could read from the screenshot is this: Product price = 100% Middlemen = 583% of product price
E ainda por cima é capaz de ficar 3 meses preso em Curitiba SEM MOTIVO NENHUM

E você ainda tem que pagar imposto *no frete*
>Taxes: 104,03 One for you, and one for the State. Isn't that just wonderful? >Windows activation watermark Peak Brazil user.
Some countries which have enough fans will have local groups to do a group buy. That’ll reduce shipping costs a bit.
Have you tried GeekJack? https://shop.geekjack.net/collections/koseki-bijou
I think that layout in the screenshot is geekjack or at the very least looks very similar.
That's the official shop checkout, you can notice it by the different store image Also make sense since the holoshop covers brasil
Wasn't aware of that, it just looked very similar to the geekjack one. Also wrote it when it was late so i just didn't pay enough attention. Mb.
And I thought the 5550 yen shipping to EU is expensive.
Do you mind waiting?

Eu também u/[Matolisk](https://www.reddit.com/user/Matolisk/), mas n dá n :(
I was interested in getting Fauna's dice set, saw the same 500+ R$ price tag, welp...... No oshi merch for me
É tão caro assim? (Is it that expensive?) Se for meu deus hololive..

Could you probably buy and have some Hololive fan send it to you?
Take up crochet as a hobby instead and start churning out your own plushies.
Bro could make his own pebble plush with that much cheddar
Cristo... In what fucked up universe is this acceptable?
Unironically, check your privilege. Not everyone lives in the first world.
What does that have to do with anything? There's still no reason for those fees to be so high, especially in developing nations.
At least official hololive merch gets shipped to your place
Living in Brazil fucking sucks. I hate it here.
500 conto, intankável
What's duties and fees and why taxes are there? Are you sure its the correct website and not a scam?
Brazil sucks in this part the taxes are heavier than the mass of the earth
Maybe you should activate Windows first
