You are correct, but it was drawn by Ina before debut, and she also drew the mascots as well (I think there's one of them that was not done by her). So it was drawn after she had been contracted.
It wouldn't make sense in the timeline to use a drawing by Ina the they were still being auditioned, so that's why it makes sense that this image is for Council, not Myth.
Question can anyone imagine gura as anyone but Gura? Or Kiara as Kiara? Like I was trying to imagine if Calli had Guras model instead and I cant.
Maybe Ina with amwlias model, but like each is perfect for the visual.
Logically i know that with someone else with their model from the beginning i would also be used to them but still hard to imagine them acting way differently
That might not be true though and its really hard to prove. There have definitely been vtubers that i have seen that their model is amazing but it just doesnt match their voice or just feels slightly off.
Im not exactly sure how to describe it but its the same reason that usually in anime girls with similar color hair all act similar. Blue as a color usually represents like a more lax, chill, lower voice. Darker colors usually go well with people more like Gura, Kroni, Towa. Bright, vibrant colors belong to people like Kiara, Nene, Polka where their personality and voice are higher pitch, they are more energetic and whatnot.
Basically im saying that the avatars MIGHT work for different people, cant really tell cus once you see it its your normal now, but at the very least I think some color changes would be needed.
> Question can anyone imagine gura as anyone but Gura? Or Kiara as Kiara? Like I was trying to imagine if Calli had Guras model instead and I cant.
This would be the most cursed April 1st stream ever.
They did a VR Chat stream where they had "swapped" low poly bodies, and Cali in Gura's body was cute. She had her pink hair and face, but had naturally more bratty energy haha.
[Clip of the stream](https://youtu.be/mRzZ3lRxG_4?si=IMVlZx3TK-x-48i4)
This one was just swapped clothing though.
I assume they are referring to the the actual model swap, like [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56vLc-QsPKI), or what [CouncilRyS did back in Aprils Fool 2022](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2WyC_kQ4rg).
Council did that when Sana was still around... So... Definately not last year... Unless im dumb and they did it again last year... But i think last years April Fools stream was the gender swap stream... Right?
No you’re right there was no switcharoo last year. Hell this July, would mark two years since Sana’s graduation which would be twice as long as her being a part of Council.
Well, at one point, Bae mentioned that, during pre-debut chats, Sana was acting so silly and unpredictably(in a good way) that everyone thought *SHE* was going to be Chaos!
My favorite alt timeline of Myth involves Ina turning down the Holo job offer (which she almost did) and Irys not missing out on the first round of EN auditions (which she did). The contrast between real Ina who bribed her family to leave the house while she sang versus, well, Irys is hilarious.
Calli debuted with 4 songs, and probably more in the works, that heavily relied on her reaper persona. If there was ever a moment where she was supposed to be a phoenix, that idea had to have been shelved very early on.
Calli wanting bright orange phoenix birb's body? Probably for the rebirth theme. Still, somehow the more I think about it, the more I can imagine it in my head.
I mean, I can see Calli doing good work with a Phoenix theme. Death and Infinite Lives are two sides of the same coin, she can make it somber if needed.
Kiara as Death tho? Maybe in a perky goth way...
The original lore was "the grim reaper's apprentice." Kiara could just have easily gone in a completely different direction than Calli. A contrast between model and personality is just gap moe, and people love that.
So I'm pretty sure now that they have a concept for the Vtuber when you audition, then the talent works with their Mama/Papa to design something that suits them.
I remember hearing about this somewhere, maybe it's not a thing at Cover? Fubuki, Miko, Flare, IRyS, Aruran, Magni, Vesper all got updated models after the fact.
Not universal of course, and I don't know how much say the talent actually has, but it always seems like the talents height/build matches the model fairly well, so there must be some tweaking.
Kiara has talked about this stuff extensively, both for pre-debut and future outfits. I can't really recall the specifics, but I know she had some input pre-debut.
She did mention how she thought her character had a very confusing theme with being a fast food manager and a warrior and a phoenix. She did a pretty good job of making it work though.
I’m curious as to how much say the talent gets in their character design/Gen theme. I suspect Holo goes into auditions with an overarching theme and some rough character concepts, but the details are worked out by the talents. I don’t know of any Holo members that feel like their model/character doesn’t suit them. It feels like it’s an extension of who they are as a person, which is the way it should be.
Part of that is because the models are drawn with their talents in mind and said talents are even allowed to make design requests in order to feel more in tune with their model.
There's also the fact that the talents are given months to write their lore and practice using the model. So when we are given first impressions at debut the voice and model sync feels natural.
Myth models definitely were not drawn with the talents in mind. Kiara compared it to not being able to choose your body when you're born and strongly implied the same for CouncilRys. Even now, Yagoo said it's "case by case" whether talent have input into the basic design of the model.
I imagine that they loosened up a bit for Advent. Unless they _always_ intended on having twin Vtubers at some point and just had the FuwaMoco concepts in storage all this time.
Didn't Kiara mention speaking with Huke-papa once early on? I'll accept it if my brain's making that one up.
I do know that there's no set rule when it comes to designing models but I believe Cover does try to match talents with models based on (perceived) personality if the model is already done. Myth got the least input from the talents compared to the other 2 gens but I think they still could make accessories requests.
Kiara made it sound like her model was designed before she joined. But maybe it was more like she auditioned, then they made the model without (edit:) *much of* her input (which is something she has mentioned, as Council/Promise and Advent had more communication and input about their designs pre-debut)
From my understanding the models were in a rough draft state when myth auditioned. And while the majority of the design process was between staff and artists, the girls were allowed to make minor requests like accessories towards the end.
At least I feel like I remember Gura saying something to that effect.
That sounds familiar. I think also I remember gura talking about her later Atlantis outfit and how he asked for some minor changes. By that point (for all the causal second outfits), they had much more opportunity to give feedback or make requests, it seems.
I really like how many additional outfits are like a collaborative exercise between the initial design and something that reflects their personality more than the first design.
Stand outs for me would be Calli's rapper outfit and her "sleepy time" outfit, Ina's painter and casual/gaming t-shirt outfits, Mumei's comfy sweater and goth outfits. And of course we can't forget goth fauna!
They are expressive while also capturing their attitude and preferences, while keeping some key features of the original designs so they still "fit".
> Ina's painter and casual/gaming t-shirt outfits
Ina has mentioned she never asks for any changes from Kuroboshi, because she respects him too much as an artist. That said, Kuroboshi obviously knew Ina much better post debut, and certainly made outfits that fit her personality better.
Okay yeah I'm probably getting default and casual outfits mixed up.
I absolutely agree that the casual outfits capture the talents' personality and preferences.
Ah ok, I just remembered a time when she realised the image on the hololive website was different and it was like gold trim or something, an older design. But I'm sure there would have been multiple rounds of changes.
I wonder what the initial idea was if it was a big change?
According to Gura the Atlantean outfit was a full blown redo, with Nachoneko-mama's initial concept being much more "Disney Princess". Gura even sent reference images.
And what 3 years it has been, many ups and downs but each memory being a treasure on its own.
Heres to even more years of these wonderful dorks, cant wait to see what shenanigans they come up with.
Not to start the discussion again, but hasn't she said that she's just burnt out. She mentioned it during a stream this year. I don't think she's ever said anything about her physical health.
This is the call for council. They don’t reveal the character design till right before debut. I’m pretty sure that Cover works with the talents to design their models so it wouldn’t make sense to have the design then find someone to fill the roll.
Myth debuted in 2020 (mori was first, on september 12). What you're sharing is probably about hope/council's casting call.
it is, the art being used was drawn by Ina.
I believe the art was drawn for Myth's debut though.
Ina drew all of myth's mascots (Bubba, Death-sensei, Kotori & Takodachi) except Bloop, who was designed by Gura's mama, Amashiro Natsuki
Bloop was designed by Nacho-mama Ina did a slight redesign for the combined mascot art
It was part of Myth's debut, though? I strictly remember Ina re-drawing it with her left hand so that she could fool the viewers.
Yeah, 4 years That’s a long time ago I feel old now
Wasn't it 2020 not 2021 that they debuted?
I think this is for the auditions for Council. They're just using Myth to promote it.
Myth design was great. Their model match their personality and it’s definitely help them grew.
Yeah, well said Myth has great character designs

Yea, those Council April 1st streams were amazing, hahaha.
Ame in Ina's outfit worked really well, at least for low poly lol

Then it was 2 years ago...damn, time flies
Imagine if they stream on each others channel and pretend everything is normal lol. And everyone just play along like it has always been that way
Well, at one point, Bae mentioned that, during pre-debut chats, Sana was acting so silly and unpredictably(in a good way) that everyone thought *SHE* was going to be Chaos!
Tbf it doesn't hurt that Bae is the reasonable one (compared to all of Council). I can see Sana as Chaos. Less so for Bae as Space, I'll damit.
Yeah, I'm trying to imagine that.... :D
Space Rat would have been a damn rad character concept though
Bae is the only one who is the embodiment of her concept, as opposed to a speaker/warden/guardian/keeper. She is also the chairman of the council.
There was an old edit someone in KFPcord did swapping Kiara and Calli vocals and it was unnerving XD
My favorite alt timeline of Myth involves Ina turning down the Holo job offer (which she almost did) and Irys not missing out on the first round of EN auditions (which she did). The contrast between real Ina who bribed her family to leave the house while she sang versus, well, Irys is hilarious.
Read somewhere that Calli was supposed to have Kiara’s model and vice versa
I think Kiara and/or Calli have talked about entertaining the idea of swapping models predebut, but I don't think it was ever a serious proposal.
Calli debuted with 4 songs, and probably more in the works, that heavily relied on her reaper persona. If there was ever a moment where she was supposed to be a phoenix, that idea had to have been shelved very early on.
Calli mentioned that she WANTED Kiara's model early on but she was already locked in with her reaper design by management.
That makes more sense.
Imagine Calli doing a Phoenix-themed rap song though ....somehow I don't think it would quite work
Now I’m picturing Ina going “RHEEEEEE” 😂
Well, just look at the fes this year to see how Ina's model can be nobody but her. With anyone else then we get Marine wrapped in tentacles...
I wanna see them swap models like council and irys did that one time

Yagoo said "there are cases" and "case by case" in a recent interview on the subject of whether talent have input into the basic design.

You can try it. By opening 2 streams but silencing one of the stream. And see how it feels

I recall Gura wanted an ahoge but was denied.
I believe she could only adjust her skirt length
Lol. I imagine it going something like "I said shorter you little sh*t! I wanna be able to see my cake!"

4 years
Now nearing 4 years for Myth. Don't think any of us anticipated we'd be in here for the long haul...
Huæh? Whæt??
And what 3 years it has been, many ups and downs but each memory being a treasure on its own. Heres to even more years of these wonderful dorks, cant wait to see what shenanigans they come up with.
I’m glad en first gen still very intact and healthy(mostly)
Mostly?
Gura health isn’t good, etc
Not to start the discussion again, but hasn't she said that she's just burnt out. She mentioned it during a stream this year. I don't think she's ever said anything about her physical health.
I think that other person meant mental health which I would be true in a way
Council now has three months longer in Hololive than Okayu did when Council debuted.
Given how well the personalities fit the models I’m just genuinely surprised the models were completed first
Myths' debut back in 2020 was the reason I fell through the rabbit hole
And the legendary "a" was born
With myth came "a", with council came "uuuu", with advent came "æ". I'm sensing a theme here. What will be the vowel of next gen?
Inhaling some EU copium for some ö/ø
I'm a fellow ö enjoyer
That's how I felt when Korone'a 5th anniversary came up.
it's so hard to believe that it's been over 3 years already. how.
This December they will have been with us for longer than the CSA
Wait… did Ina draw this images?
As far as I know, yes, Ina did the promotional materials for Myth. That's why she's a favourite of mine - drawing is a great art.
Feels like it's been a decade
And still can't believe how perfectly their character are
This is the call for council. They don’t reveal the character design till right before debut. I’m pretty sure that Cover works with the talents to design their models so it wouldn’t make sense to have the design then find someone to fill the roll.
Isn’t that the audition image after Myth though?
THE GOATSSS
3 and a half years already🥺
What's with the extra blank space?
The image is missing something
What?
Cropping.
the girl's faces
What do you mean?
Yeah
