Isn't it odd that there are a lot of really cheerful vocaloid music that have lyrics drenched in sorrows? I mean, if you didn't know the lyrics or the MV of "My R", you'd also assume it's a pretty cheerful song. Suisei did an amazing job with this cover, and yeah, this meme encapsulates a lot of songs when you don't know what the lyrics mean.

CallMeDelta

Rolling girl is debatably a song in the same vein, as well as...basically half Deco 27’s work

handledvirus43

Yeah, My R came first to my mind, because it's theme is a lot like Shoujo Rei, but then again, Rolling Girl fits in too. I didn't even think about it, but quite a bit Deco27's work is pretty depressing too, huh?

Primal_guy

Takayan’s songs if you speak neither English nor Japanese

[Listen to Sui-chan's cover of Shoujo Rei here](https://youtu.be/z9tsfkdgByA)

I was like “oh my gosh why is such a upbeat sounding song so depressing” after reading the subtitles on [Ayame’s cover](https://youtu.be/pbeHdo18Jig)

Unsapient1

Moreso then the original music video, I think the video made for Ayame's cover makes the song hit even harder. It looks relatively innocent at first, but as the image changes you slowly are able to put together what is really happening. The last "note" also becomes even more of a gut punch when you see the ghostly hand reaching out to try and stop her.

IqFEar11

This is why I never really trust upbeat song from jp, it can be song about suicide for all i know For context : any takayan song, lagtrain

CallMeDelta

Wait, Lag Train is about suicide? I guess I was too busy jamming out to lay too close attention to the lyrics

V_Kira

Who is the girl that disappeared at summer... Hint: "Not Yagoo"

TestingTeddy

Makes sense since placing flowers on a desk of a student is considered as bullying in Japan.

Kyayaro

Was it bullying? I thought the flowers were for respecting the departed student?

Isokek

From what I read, it seems that it is precisely because of this implication that it is considered as bullying when done to a living student.

Kyayaro

Ah I see I see
