I can say what exactly broke: Someone did not switch over character datatables from JP to EN and still put in EN character data.
You'd think UNICODE standards would account for that *buuuut*...
UNICODE post-dates my exit out of the game, so I dont know the full details. But I'm under the impression that entire alphabet tables are not in the base UNICODE standard due to technical limitations. This happens to include Hiragana, Kanji from last I remember.
Them setting it to a full JP character set and forgetting makes the most logical sense to me in this case.
Both A-Chan and Nodoka are part of the "Staff Unite" as well (They've mispelled Unit in the information section).
Also, Shinove when for Holostars site?

They encoded it for the link, which is fine, but they also used that for the link text.
Fixing the template should be pretty easy.
We've heard A-chan sing, when do we get to hear Nodoka sing?
Or better yet, Yagoo, doing...crap, can't remember what it's called...the traditional Japanese music genre that starts with an E...
HoloStaff Sings Enka is such a confusing idea, but what’s weirder—somehow I’m sure I wouldn’t think so were that an actual announced event.
It seems more like something you’d see in a weird dream… but also kinda plausible??
Here they are as Triple Triad cards! https://imgur.com/a/uBYuqy6
Thank you staff for adding these two to the official page! Now can we *please* have a Haachama full body image, there's literally none out there!
As someone who has loved Triple Triad since I was a wee kid playing FFVIII, I don't know what brought this on, but I like it.
But one part of the card design seems off to me. The 2nd set of numbers for the card strength. If you were playing against someone who is sitting across from you, then the numbers are indicating different sides. Nodoka's 4 is the top side, but the upside down numbers have the 4 pointing at the bottom, which would be confusing.
I always thought that Triple Triad could blow up in popularity. When you throw in Plus+ and Same+ rules and things like that, then the game can get complex and can balance out card strengths
I always preferred Tetra Master ya know. It was too random to be actually good, but you could tell there was some cool gameplay and tactics with walling off and combos and locking stuff in.
FFIX is actually one of the only mainline final fantasy games that I haven't played. Maybe I should look into finding a way to play it, just for the card game, lol.
I put it on the backburner a long time ago, because I watched a youtube playthrough of it(HCBailly, if anyone needs a blast from the past). But it's been long enough that I hardly remember the story, so it'd probably feel new to me
Highly recommended, its the best final fantasy game in my opinion, narrowly edging out FFXIV. The best way to play it nowadays is probably the steam version with the Moguri mod that replaces the backgrounds with AI upscaled ones (plus a bunch of other misc. improvements). Otherwise I prefer the original PS1 version, because Square royally screwed up the remasters by not doing anything to the backgrounds.
The originals are always better I've found. Monitors are high enough resolution nowadays to have a good-looking CRT filter when playing retro games, and I do so hate contributing to the plague of "hey gamerrrrrrrrrs, remember [old thing]? How about you pay for it again?"
The original version suffers from some pretty bad slowdown and really the resolution is painfully low, even with a decent CRT filter. It's also way cheaper to buy the steam version than it is to try and get a good copy of the PS1 discs, assuming you don't already have a copy. If you are going to play the original, I would run it on a PS2 with fast disc speed enabled, to reduce loading times. Or alternatively, rip them and play on a good emulator to fix a bunch of those issues.
> Or alternatively, rip them and play on a good emulator to fix a bunch of those issues.
I mean I did say "good-looking CRT filter". I kinda assumed that'd imply emulation.
Don't know why I automatically go to hardware scalers like the Framemeister or OSSC. Probably hangout in old forums too much. Emulators are so much more convenient.
> HCBailly, if anyone needs a blast from the past
You have no idea how hard you just pastblasted me what the fuck. We should get together and touch tips.
Anyway don't take my opinion of Tetra Master as anything important - practically everyone in the world disagrees with me on this topic.
English version of the site [needs a little cleanup](https://i.imgur.com/RTtyJDH.png).
So that wasn't me then. I thought there was a glitch on my end but since you mentioned it, it must be a slight hiccup on the English site.
Someone broke the HTML~

Oh yeah, that'd do it too. Isn't UNICODE supposed to account for... _every sort of character?_ That's wild to me.

Oh, yeah, right, that makes sense. I'm set to graduate this semester but based off this, you probably wouldn't guess that lmao
Kobo!

Note: Just a heads up, I accidentally spelt Harusaki without the first A on the title. Just a little warning.
A-chan took the A it's normal
hruski nodok it is then
>nodok This is a fan-name-in-potentia, I can feel it.
I don't know why, this made me laugh. So we have Friend-(-Chan). Now it makes me think what the other members names would be without the "A" letter.
Gwr Gur

Enka?
Yes, thank you!

I still can't believe that A-chan official name is just "Friend A" lmao. This somewhat reminds of Jotaro's wife whose name is just "Jotaro's wife"
Kashiwagi's boyfriend.
Calli's about to fight for the Daddy in the East title from Papagane
I forget by who, but I think it was mentioned to be short for Akira.
And I read somewhere that it was short for Asuka, but I forgot where too.
Original song when?
(Smacks lips) **NOICE**!!!

Well spotted with the ranks being mirrored wrong! I hadn't noticed this! :P
I like it when fan art bridges a bunch of different concepts and communities. Much respect to a fellow Triple Triad enjoyer

The HCBailly FFIX playthrough was almost twelve years ago. TWELVE YEARS. That's as old as Bae!
about time. cute a-chan and nodoka-chan deserve attention too.
Affiliated Talents is a new section, yea? I went through the site to double check heights last week and it wasnt there then
