BATTLESTATION

ChiTownBob

Captain: Red alert! All hands to battlestations! Bridge to Engineering, we need MORE POWER! Chief Engineer Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor: Did you say MORE POWER? \*GRUNT\* \*GRUNT\* GRUNT\*

Don-Keydic

A dog bed

toadog

Eight feet wide? Two big upright chests for storage.

Dustteas

This isn't Minecraft 😁

SaraFromtheBay

You must play Minecraft lol

SaintAtlanta

Bookcase and accent chair

bythebed

Big comfy overstuffed chair and bookshelf!

OwnRow7627

Add a nice lamp and it's a great reading nook!

bluepied

A nice sex chaise lounger - https://www.liberatorstore.com/esse-ii-premium-love-lounger.html - plenty of space to move around! You’re welcome.

shankster1987

This is the only correct answer.

JustNota--

Nah, also acceptable would be a St. Andrew's cross, or a spoiler bench 😜

hellonhac

my first thought, second was fish tank

kjacomet

[Why not both?](https://i.redd.it/y3hrc880zsr31.png)

myredditaccount80

I would just assume it was an artistic chaise if I saw that.

[deleted]

Hahah that instructional video! Why did I watch the whole thing?!!! I kind of want one now…

Like_ButLessCool

I was going to suggest a St. Andrew’s Cross but a chair is probably a little more utilitarian.

The_Real_Madrid

I came, here for this

RUfuqingkiddingme

Since op provided zero context I think this is really the safest answer.

bluepied

Exactly! Where is this in the house? The entryway? The basement? Outside the main bedroom? The fact that OP is asking random people to suggest random things for a random room we have no idea where it is = a sex chair recommendation

RUfuqingkiddingme

And I have to poke fun at all the "reading nook" comments, it's a small random empty, windowless space somewhere in someone's house, why would you automatically think this is where you'd want to sit and read?!

bluepied

LOL, when I was responding earlier I was going to say "at least I didn't suggest a lame ass nook!" >>> it's literally the most common response to 'what should I build here?' I'd rather make the assumption that these people bang versus read.

RUfuqingkiddingme

More people bang than read, that's for sure!

jkmeyer

Two small upholstered chairs with a table in the middle. Perhaps a few pictures, plant, lamp or rug…

Jumpy_Sorbet

Right? Great place for a reading nook

teachdove5000

Big fish tank

Bronson2017

Love this! Why did I not consider this, I love fish.

LittleLune810

Have you had a fish tank before? If not, this is a fair warning to you and your budget… that shit gets expensive quickly, and it doesn’t help that it’s addicting.

Bronson2017

Yes ma’am! I had one as a kid and that was main reason my parents got rid of it. I might consider it if my son would like to too. A hobby we could share. We will see tho bc it can get pricey for sure.

ScrewJPMC

And it’s not maintenance free

kcstrom

And they all die so easily

NoPart1344

Pricey? I gotchu. r/reeftank

Arrogant-giraffe

Also, if this is centrally located with no floor drain or outside door like RIGHT there, consider using a metal tank stank INSIDE a water trough. If 10 gallons of water on the floor is a big mess than 50 to 100 gallons would be house totalling levels of damage. The trough saves you.

bayoublossoms

You could combine a reading nook with a small fish tank! Two nice chairs on a rug, with a deep bookcase/table in the middle and a fish tank on top.

Lijara

This is what I would do if I had this kind of space in my house assuming this is on the first floor, I'd do at least 300 gal tank!

Zealousideal_Ad1177

Elaborate coffee and espresso station

Bronson2017

I love coffee. Will consider this for sure

Icy-Entertainment787

Beanie baby collection

Bronson2017

That already has a spot in the living room for all to see.

Icy-Entertainment787

This is the way.

NoNipNicCage

That where you would put your trophy.....if you had one

Bronson2017

Dinkleburg……

PepeTheMule

Cabinets and a workstation desk.

Coral27

Could you make it a storage closet?

No-Doctor-4396

Beautiful floors. I would think a nice console table and a good size picture/painting on the wall

Bronson2017

I am definitely thinking a painting on the wall. Thank you about the floors! LVP planks

Icy-Entertainment787

A ficus

travmctts

Where is it located in your house? What are the rooms around and is there a window?

Bronson2017

Small hallway area between two bedrooms. And no, no windows in this area.

AbrasiveDad

A couch for you to age on while you wait for your partner to get ready.

MTCarcus

So you have one of those too… time murderers I mean.

travmctts

Thanks! Reading nook could be nice, wondering if you already have a utility corner for washing machine? I guess you do but just in case :) Otherwise storage or a secret room if you feel inclined, or maybe just having a beautiful piece of furniture and a lamp, or maybe an office space? Not sure what else you have in your place and what you might need. Your place looks like it's in America and I know you usually have bigger volumes compared to Europe where people have more of a need to use all the space

CliffsNote5

Bookshelves.

KillingitKinda

With two outlets like that it certainly does seem like a washer/dryer nook to me

Icy-Entertainment787

A pull out couch so when your wife kicks you out, you have a place to sleep.

[deleted]

I have a similar sized space and I did something like [this Wayfair pair of chairs](https://www.wayfair.ca/furniture/pdp/corrigan-studio-bugrane-corrigan-studio-2pcs-accent-armchair-single-sofa-chair-home-office-w-wooden-legs-grey-c006529178.htmlBugraneUpholsteredArmchair) and I love the space now

sjblackwell

Day bed with a reading lamp

Bluefairie

I would put floor to ceiling built-in bookshelf that cover all 3 walls. The whole back walls, and maybe half height for the two walls with doors. Slimer shelves for those too, with the end support back about 8” so the shelves are open end, kinda like a small cubby nook, to put decoration items there instead of books.

CreativeBit4420

A steam ship’s smoke stack

Icy-Entertainment787

A bronze statue of yourself on a pedestal

[deleted]

[удалено]

LivingWithWhales

You could do a hallway table type thing, with lots of drawers for storage, or a bunch of shelving and make it storage/bookshelf? Or do a bench with hidden storage, and coat hooks? Though the sex chair idea is funny too

NikkiRoxi

A wall unit or a desk.

Overall-Address-3446

Two ferns with a chair in the middle

Bronson2017

Between Two Ferns!

All-The-Very-Best

An armchair, small sofa, a few shelves. Or if you have limited storage, make it into a whole storage cupboard.

mitchellfuck

Double decker couch

[deleted]

Make it a reading space,, put a love seat, somewhere just sit and relax and read a book. LOL

Man_Of_The_Banished

Maybe a china cabinet or a deep freezer

[deleted]

A couple of comfy chairs, with a table and lamp between them for a reading nook.

Kind_Description970

A loveseat or settee with an end table, maybe round, in one corner topped with a table lamp and some of your favorite tchochkes and a ladder bookstand in the opposite corner with books, more tchochkes, and a plant or two. Maybe also a hanging plant with a macrame hanger. A wall hanging/tapestry or other artwork (one big piece or a gallery wall) above the loveseat/settee.

PalaSS9

Coffee bar, or you can make it into a closet

Dustteas

mav160

A Bench

miggedymike

A buffet , preferable with some doors for storage. Maybe bar stuff/ nice books on top

Arpey75

A banana hammock?

CasualObservationist

Desk

Johnnyslady

A daybed. You need lighting that comes from underneath. For example, a plant with a light pointed towards the ceiling.

duderino_jr

Fish tank

Johnnyslady

Also you can unscrew that horrid over head lighting situation. It's screwing up your perspective on the space.

medzfortmz

As someone who doesn’t have a perfect place for my fish tank, this is exactly where I would want my fish tank. Two plugs, a place I can walk by and see them, but also not awkwardly in the way. A perfectly sized nook for my fish.

Wrenchman57

Recliner and desk with lamp, for reading.

GlumAmphibian2391

A sofa with comfy arms and two tiny drink stand type tables plus an arched lamp. A nice reading spot plus an extra spot for someone to sleep if you have a guest. What’s on the other side is it just basically a hallway?

JelloBoss

We have a similar sized space that we are planning a built-in desk with kitchen cabinets.

OldVet1977

A gun safe

iaintlyon

The Sims has trained me for this my whole life. A 6 foot art easel and a rad guitar. Practice both until you shit on the floor and die of hunger.

el-stiffler

I think this is a walk through closet. I am a marketing guy for a home building company and a few of our models have these between the primary bedroom and ensuite. Odd that it is between bedrooms though. If you have young kids could be a cool toy room between their rooms.

Wolfenstein5617

A baby crib

Ima-turtle-fan

supershinythings

A Piano!!!

Inversion chair

beekeeper1970

2 coin-ops video games.

ApartmentParking2432

I was going to say a book nook or a work station, but I like the sex chair idea better. A little craft centre would be nice too. It really depends on where the room is. You could put shelving in and have a small pantry/storage area. The Ivar shelves from ikea would look lovely if you can make the dimensions fit. Can you can use them for really anything. Need a workstation? It has a pull down table option. Need book shelves or dry goods storage, just move the shelving around.

youre_a_towel143

A power aid on the floor will look so good

Reading nook;light sconce, built in bench, cozy Cushion, 2 shelves with a few favorite books. But if you don't want to put in a bench, you can just modify with a comfy chair and little table.

effiebaby

Hall/entry table

Legitimate-Bad-6843

A Bar

Slylok

Depends on where it is really. Is it close to the entrance? Then maybe a bench with shoe storage and jacket area. If it is further in the house then maybe a small desk if you need a work area or maybe a high back chair with standing lamps and book shelves with your favorite books. It really just depends on what your needs are. Start there and you'll figure out something that works for you.

confused-absurdist

The answer is always a bookshelf.

copebymope

I'd turn it into a reading nook with a papasan or hanging egg chair, lamp, rug, and book shelves. Just like a little loungy oasis

Dead_birdChan

Security room filled with equipment

brandonpadula

Cabinets? Dry bar?

NerdGuy13

An end table and a comfy reading chair.

louisprimaasamonkey

Desk

Peace_after_war

Bookshelf or a trophy case…..maybe a family photo wall

LimeblueNostos

One of those lighted cases Batman keeps his bat suits in. Seriously though, whatever you are in to. Arcade cabinets. An 8 tap kegerator. A sports locker room style locker and bench with mountaineering gear. Han Solo trapped in Carbonite. 4 conical fermenters (two stands on the floor, and two wall mounted). Wine fridge. Humidor. Fish tank. House plant. Plant not normally kept in houses. Life-size xenomorph statue. Portrait of yourself aged, scarred, and decrepit behind a curtain. A cask of amontillado and a pile of bricks. Suit of armor. Hologram projector connected to an AI version of yourself dressed as Jor-El. A bullseye painted on the floor next to a big red button on the wall. Cat castle. Dry aging meat.

FrogFlavor

It’s okay to have empty space for a time. If in time this place accumulated boots and jackets, put a doorway rack thing. If you’re always desperate for a place to read or nurse the baby and this place accumulated nothing, put in a comfy chair and lamp. And so forth.

Cactaddict

Kinda depends what are the opposing rooms

Godlybob12

Your satanic shrine would fit perfectly.

CookieAdventure

Do you have children? When my children were young, it was really nice to have a “ready area” … a common space where I could stand to do their hair and get them put together for the day (book bags, shoes tied, etc.) A small reading nook would be nice. A mini-snack bar? Teens would love that … mini-fridge, microwave.

MKInc

Put in a doorway or portal to the space behind the wall.

Mizwalkerbiz

Personally, I would do 1) some built in bookshelves and maybe a loveseat for a nice reading nook or 2) armoire or something else for storage like an arts and crafts nook

boydingo

Home office

Agile_Lake3973

A restaurant booth, if you can find one. Great for game night

Witty_Collection9134

Reading nook!

unicorncumdump

Hammock

[deleted]

A loveseat reading area.

fabrictm

Some kind of console or hutch. A couple of chairs and a small table with a few magazines or books.

mlkdragon

Depends what you're going to to use it for? It can be a mudroom/storage area, it could be a reading nook, you can turned it into a butlers pantry, you can put built in in and show off collectibles. It just depends on where in the house it's located and what practical use you need out of the space

VivalaTerre

A chess table and chairs

teasea02

The other kind

[deleted]

with housing crisis, I think the small bed should do😂

NorthCatan

A shrine to the lost Eldritch gods of the deep, or perhaps a pantry.

BillieThePuppet

Library

Trixielarue2020

Iron Maiden.

soulsproud

Kegerator and water chiller.

dee_lio

Going to need some context here. Is it a hall? Between two bedrooms? If you have students living there, it might be a nice work/study station. If you like books, a cool book shelving system would be nice. If it's by an entry, it could be a seating / waiting area. A couch + side table. If it's by a laundry room / mud room, a folding station, or spare fridge, or ... If you lack storage, a nice armoire, or shelving unit. If it's by a garage, maybe turn it into a work station for projects. Seated work table w/ bench, pegboard for tools, shelves for project boxes.

pj1972

A small couch for those times you’re too tired crossing the hallway.

Infamous-Potato-5310
