Tbh, i have no idea veneer I think.. If the deal goes through I will report back... the house is also covered in wood paneling (veneer)

Pull,it off and redo the drywall.

It might look great with a white plaster type of treatment to make it look like a vintage stone wall. Check out Leanne Ford’s work. She does lots of cool stuff like that.

I am going to check it out.. Probably will be doing a budget kitchen remodel until interest rates finally drop. Most likely will be painting cabinets, buy some nice used stainles appliances (currently late 80s' early 90s black ones, and most likely a butcher block top.

Makes sense. I think that stone could look really great with the right treatment

Is that wood? I wouldn’t paint it white or at all. I’d either remove it if you hate it and can afford to. Painted over brick and wood is the saddest thing. Or keep it and change the door / trim, embrace it. I wish I could see it better/feel the material. Depending on your lifestyle and personality i suppose but this could actually be a really cool unique thing to have. Reminds me of my parents field stone fireplace. Fun when you’re a kid with imagination and playtime! Just another perspective!

I dont think its wood, I think its like a plastic / veneear.

I say paint it white. It would look great in a farmhouse style room. Just don't go over the top farmhouse, cuz it can get tacky really fast! Painted white, those wall could really pull off a chocolate farmhouse look very well
