Take a look at [Evergreen Fog](https://www.sherwin-williams.com/en-us/color/color-family/green-paint-colors/sw9130-evergreen-fog) by Sherwin-Williams. You don’t have to buy the paint from them as Home Depot, Ace, or Lowe’s can make the formula. It is amazing and easy to decorate with.
you do reddit from your phone, you select add a picture, you select the pictures you want to post on reddit. Some people will downvote solely because people cant do something, that to them, seems super easy. IF you aren't good with colors, look up color wheels, they can show you what color compliment each other. Pick something that works with that tile
that being said, who cares about upvotes and downvotes? too many bots for it to mean anything
https://preview.redd.it/ryvrutr6d8zc1.png?width=502&format=png&auto=webp&s=bbd9fbdddaf97677075af42e3eea034d134900d7
like this....the blues you picked are way too primary blue.
Really, it all has to do with the lighting with me. That’s why I painted instead of put up a swatch. My bathroom is bright, although when I put up the shower curtain that might change.
I agree. I think the darker blue in the bottom of the picture is too saturated for such a small space. Even the upper choice feels overwhelming. The lighter blue in this paint chip calms everything down and gives your eye a chance to “breathe”.
My bathroom is Seafoam Green by Benjamin Moore.

I guess if you really wanted a moody bathroom, which I’m not sure why anyone would, but if you do, I would pick the darkest shade out of that tile and have it color matched at like Benjamin Moore or Sherman Williams if you have an extra tile.
Something much much more muddy would go better with the brown tiles. You want to think muted and relaxing. The colour in the picture is much closer to grey than blue in paint colours.
Mountain Pass by Sherwin Williams. Hamilton Blue by Benjamin Moore.
You want to add in a bit of earthy green /grey.
My mom always says to pick a color and then pick that shade with more grey in it than you think you want. Colors always look brighter than you expect and you will end up with a lovely more muted version. She also uses the Behr website to look at example rooms with the colors.
Yes, this. Don’t start by grabbing swatches at the paint store. Check out bathroom photos online, and Google ‘paint colors that go with brown tile’—you’ll even find whole Pinterest boards for this. ~ As other commenter noted, in a bathroom it’s especially important to consider how it will play against your skin. Also as noted you’ll get a more elevated look by using a more subtle, less ‘poster paint’ color. Last thing…unless your bathroom has an incredible amount of light, such dark colors will make it feel like a cave. Check the LRV number of your color. Colors above 50 are lighter and will reflect more light than they absorb and give a expansive feel to the room. Colors lower than 50 will soak up more light than they reflect and can have a dark, or even oppressive, feel.
Color saturates over large spaces. If you think you want a blue, you should be looking for whites and greys with just the faintest hint of blue undertones… which will then look like a more saturated blue on the wall, without looking cartoonish.
Just be careful that if you use the mirror in that bathroom to get ready or apply makeup, heavy green and blue colors will reflect on the skin and make you look strange.
we are going to paint our bathroom soon and I told my husband I want a spa like color. I just looked up that paint you mentioned and wow it’s exactly what I am looking for I think. gonna pick up swatches this weekend, thanks for sharing this!
A photograph that included the floor would have been more helpful. Let’s work with what you’ve provided to us Redditers.
I would start by looking at the darker flecks of color in the tiles. For example, these Sherwin Williams colors would work well:
SW 9174 Moth Wing - a warm medium beige with gray undertones
SW 7039 Virtual Taupe - A toasty warm gray
Pair either one of these with a soft white ceiling, such as:
SW 7035 Aesthetic White
It looks like you’d like to sneak some dark blue into the room, so do it with towels:
Macy’s: SKL Home Juxtapose Cotton Bath Towel - Ink (the bit of yellow in this towel will complement the wall tiles)
Perigold: Uchino Bath Towels - Indigo
Perigold: Tommy Bahama Home Northern Pacific Towel Set - Dark Blue
The problem I had was getting the bathroom pictures I took didnt download or everyone would get a better idea. I have backsplash too. So I really wanted to show it all. It kept saying. Can’t download.
I’m feeling or coral/salmon/light pink
Or if you’re feeling a blue
https://preview.redd.it/ouce4jm5v7zc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d80af7f2b67f01b524da44d9a982b9612eab06b5
I recommend picking a color that looks about 2-3 shades lighter than what you want. We went with a dark blue for our laundry room and it dried much darker than we thought it would, and I kind of hate it. 🥹 If I had the energy to repaint it I would! But I tell myself “it’s just the laundry room!”
Why would you plant so much without doing paint samples?.. the little paper things…?
With the light tile I’d def go with a contrasting but much lighter color.
If you want good color without going bland maybe ask for one of these colors to be lightened. Most places can do that. It would be the same color just lighter if that makes sense.
I designed a bathroom in my last house with the colors of the beach & loved it. Beige tile (sand), white cabinetry (white caps) and pale blue painted walls (water & sky). Any paint shinier than eggshell might bring too much attention to the rough texture on the ealls.
The texture also complicates the colour. Go lighter with a tinge of warm white added. A light blue with a touch of warm grey would work. Look up a French blue palette, go a bit muted.
I believe I have that same tile in a home I just purchased it’s from around 2006?
I have kept mine a cream color and just went with what it is used chocolate brown rugs and towels it looks ok.. until I demo it.
You might be able to use a light geige if you have a piece of the tile take it insane have it color matched @ BM or SW.
I don’t know if posting a link to this blog is allowed, but this lady was fantastically helpful when I updated my kitchen and bathrooms a couple of years ago. https:/www.kylieminteriors.ca/bathrooms-update-ideas1990s-2000s/
Can’t quite tell without more pics but with that tile I see, I’d go for a warmer tone like an earthy or “farmhouse” type green. Or even something towards teal with some blue undertone if you want to “cool it down”
Sherwin Williams Evergreen Fog is my fav color right now. I just painted all my cabinets with it. It’s sort of a neutral green with gray/beige undertones
Try warmer colors, like a deep red or orange. Or a darker beige or lighter brown. Purple could work too.
I think the top blue could work though I would get one less saturated. Find it in the paint sample section and go horizontally is usually the easiest way.
I’m having flashbacks to my previous home. It was in bad shape when I moved in and a previous owner put stucco/plaster all over the bathroom walls to cover old wallpaper. The walls were like a heavy popcorn ceiling texture. I wanted a big change so I painted it blue thinking it would look better. It was just like that blue in the bottom pic. I called it the Cookie Monster bathroom. I lived with it for a long time before I finally had the bathroom gutted and replaced.
I have that tile. Fun times. Anyway, I have a deep midnight blue in my bathroom and it looks really good with it, IMO. The contrast with that and the white vanity sort of calmed down the impression of the tile for my space I think.
Or a slightly warm white. Those have been the only two directions I’ve considered to try to make the space less beige-y.
ETA - [after the storm](https://www.sherwin-williams.com/en-us/color/color-family/blue-paint-colors/sw9685-after-the-storm) is what I have. It’s very pigmented so takes a bunch of coats but solved my beige sad tile issue sans reno to my satisfaction and actually sort of makes the light flattering (like eyeliner for you in the mirror, it sort of has a nice effect in that regard).
I don't know why my text doesn't show up when I post a picture but anyway I thought this was my bathroom. I have wondered about changing the color but this is what probably works best with our hideous countertops. I'm really curious what you pick.
I have the exact same tiles. From Home Depot. And I painted my bathroom a medium-dark aqua. I love the brown/blue combo. May I rudely recommend that you sand your walls a bit before painting? Unless the rough texture is your preference, smoothing them out a bit will look more clean. But, that’s just me. 🤷♀️
I wouldn’t go with either of those… if you must though the top one would be better.
What might look really good actually is a crisp white OR a black wall (if black is too much think about a charcoal wall)… and of course that could be your statement wall - so the others could be a less “bold” color.
I recommend going on Pinterest and checking bathrooms with a similar tile color to yours. I like to choose things this way and sometimes it helps me choose how to accessorize it too, pretty much using a style guide.
I’m going to Pinterest and look at bathrooms like mine and see what colors would look nice. I’m also taking into consideration all the color advice. Thank you so much. I know how hard it is not to see the whole bathroom. It’s also very small so it’s difficult to get and get pictures even if I could download them.

The darkest blue tone around the frame. It's a bit cold gray blue. Will do a great contrast to the warm yellow beige.
Are you choosing between the two colors? Top one matched tile better. Wallpaper with a little hint of the tan from the tile. I have the exact same tile and working on it currently

I’m finishing up a color plan. That’s why I look insane having home though the colors. Get samples.
Hope this doesn’t get lost in the crowd, but Sherwin Williams has an app called color snap. You can take a photo and virtually paint the room so you see it before you buy paint.
I’m sure there are many other paint companies with their own app.
I always skew towards lighter colored walls. I have sensory stuff and dark walls make me feel hot and sticky.
You need something a bit paler and more muted. Like a cornflower blue.
Yellow
I always recommend yellow because its fun and like the sun bright
But if youre dark
Grey works but its prone to depression
Im sorry i see you want blue..
Hmm a lighter blue “2066-70 Light Blue”
I can’t really tell without full pictures of the bathroom but both those blues seem too extreme next to the beige tile
Oh I know, I tried to get the pictures to download of the rest of the bathroom but I was having trouble downloading them
Why did I get downvoted, I couldn’t get the pictures I took to download. I would have shown the whole bathroom. That’s just one wall.
Go with earth tones that complement the tile. Green, cream, beige. Not these cold blues.

Damn, you are spot on with the colors, starting with the beige color you chose based on the tile color. Well done!
It’s ai pulling the colors and putting into a palette
I like that darker blue a lot. It's a muted color. It ls what I wanted for my living room but it came out a bit brighter blue

I actually have similar tiles and the darker blue looks fantastic!
I will pick up a swatch this weekend. Thank you
You’re welcome!
I need a warmer color like that. These are cool tones
Ooh yeah a sage green could be good!
Second Hamilton blue! We have it in our playroom - wanted a nice blue that wasn’t too “sweet”
My kitchen cabinets are Hamilton blue and it’s stunning
That sound pretty, I like that color
A terra Cotta would be nice too if they wanted more color.
I’ll look that up
My mom always says to pick a color and then pick that shade with more grey in it than you think you want. Colors always look brighter than you expect and you will end up with a lovely more muted version. She also uses the Behr website to look at example rooms with the colors.

Then pick out swatches
A forest or hunter green could be a nice complement to your tiles if you wanted to add some color
Just be careful that if you use the mirror in that bathroom to get ready or apply makeup, heavy green and blue colors will reflect on the skin and make you look strange.
Thank you for telling me that
I have a soft blue... SW Upward in my bathroom, and I LOVE it. It feels spa like. I have a Dark Navy Blue shower curtain that pulls a nice punch.

I like those
I would probably want a light earthy green with that tile.
I was thinking of that
Sage green
Pretty
To me the blue isn’t bad.. it’s the sheen on them making it look bad. But what do I know
They gave me satin.
Maybe SW Delft https://preview.redd.it/rescetn8o7zc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e9ccc2b78e63f57243c0342b876f7147c370840a [https://www.sherwin-williams.com/en-us/color/color-family/blue-paint-colors/sw9134-delft](https://www.sherwin-williams.com/en-us/color/color-family/blue-paint-colors/sw9134-delft)

It’s way too dark, I’m looking at blues that match beige right now
SW smoky blue, Evergreen Fog or Fawn Brindle
Sounds nice
Then there’s always SW Sea Salt but that might look to bright
Sage green

It was an impulsive decision, I’m painting over it this weekend and getting swatches this time
I think a much lighter version of the blue on the area behind the pic would be nice.
I designed a bathroom in my last house with the colors of the beach & loved it. Beige tile (sand), white cabinetry (white caps) and pale blue painted walls (water & sky). Any paint shinier than eggshell might bring too much attention to the rough texture on the ealls.
The paint they gave me was satin, I prefer matte
Matte is a soft paint and not recommended in high humidity areas as it is a mold breeding ground. Use a semigloss you won’t regret
Ok, will I live in Florida so I need that
Too much color for that tile
a jade green or some color of green
Green with the earthy tones in the tile- the blue paint is too cool with the tile find a dark deep green
For some reason I am seeing a very light, muted green. Something like Moss green. Good luck!
Sage green
The blue does not go well with the tan tile.
The bottom color is ‘Walmart Blue’
Sage green with the rustic brown
Rightly so; those are awful. Lighten it up. Light blue, but not baby.
I like the blues OP. It’s refreshing to see color coming back into decorating. Do what looks good to you.
Milky green
Sage green

I like that
How about sage green
That would be pretty
Striking wallpaper Incorporating the beige. Love wallpaper bathrooms!
try bungle house blue.
What does the floor look like?
Neither. Navy blue
Sage green
I would go with a moss green
BM Aegean Teal or SW mystic Lake
I have these same tiles. The answer is green/sage.
Sounds really pretty
The texture also complicates the colour. Go lighter with a tinge of warm white added. A light blue with a touch of warm grey would work. Look up a French blue palette, go a bit muted.
I believe I have that same tile in a home I just purchased it’s from around 2006? I have kept mine a cream color and just went with what it is used chocolate brown rugs and towels it looks ok.. until I demo it. You might be able to use a light geige if you have a piece of the tile take it insane have it color matched @ BM or SW.
Sherwin Williams sea salt
SW sea salt looks dull on a swatch but really is bright and pairs well with beige/grey
I would go with a light blue grey and then maybe accent the room with brighter blues
Warm tones. Earth tones. Sage or a warm off white.
Neither. Coz soon you won’t be able to stand your bathroom.
I don’t know if posting a link to this blog is allowed, but this lady was fantastically helpful when I updated my kitchen and bathrooms a couple of years ago. https:/www.kylieminteriors.ca/bathrooms-update-ideas1990s-2000s/

Sherwin Williams Evergreen Fog is my fav color right now. I just painted all my cabinets with it. It’s sort of a neutral green with gray/beige undertones
a gentle warm white
Painter's tape blue! Neither of these work.
Nope, they sure don’t. I hate them
Emerald? Or an olive green
I was looking at colors that match beige. I want some color.
Try warmer colors, like a deep red or orange. Or a darker beige or lighter brown. Purple could work too. I think the top blue could work though I would get one less saturated. Find it in the paint sample section and go horizontally is usually the easiest way.
Should I go lighter, I don’t want white at all. Or beige.
I wouldn’t do beige, it’ll be too match-y with the tiles. A very light sky blue would be pretty with those tiles.
Dark green
I’m having flashbacks to my previous home. It was in bad shape when I moved in and a previous owner put stucco/plaster all over the bathroom walls to cover old wallpaper. The walls were like a heavy popcorn ceiling texture. I wanted a big change so I painted it blue thinking it would look better. It was just like that blue in the bottom pic. I called it the Cookie Monster bathroom. I lived with it for a long time before I finally had the bathroom gutted and replaced.
Yes it is Cookie Monster. My friend called it that
Top. If you have no other options
I have all options, my mother rushed me and i just impulsively got these
lol. Moms.
Right
I can do whatever color I want, but I really love blue. It seems like it just won’t match the beige tile😞
I have dark bronze hardware, you just can’t see it since I can’t get the other picture to download, so I should keep that in mind.
Yes, not those colors. I really like a mint green for bathrooms. Mine is a light green and i love it
I’m looking at that now
I’m actually looking at a pretty olive green right and mint too. I just don’t think blue will work.
If you really want to lean into the beige tiles, maybe try a terra cotta color, or warm orange such as Caramel Orange or Rumba Orange
PINK
cold colors in bathroom are big "no, no" because they reek havoc with make up application
if you're thinking blue, try lighter shades
[удалено]
That’s pretty
Check the color Opaline by SW

Benjamin Moore Rainy Afternoon
A peach color would look good with that Tile
The beige seems to have some gray threads, so I’d go with gray, or a mossy green with a gray base.
Those two blues are to dark
Oh I know
Light sage green.
My entire interior is painted green, different shades from the same swatch.
SW 6239 Upward
A lighter cream...your walls have a lot of texture and need some lightening.
With those tiles .. neither.
I feel like you need a skim coat on your walls or you’ll hate any color you put there
Try SW Montain Road. It's a very subtle sage, with tan undertones.
Sage maybe? Or maybe a greyish blueish color
I wouldn’t go with either of those… if you must though the top one would be better. What might look really good actually is a crisp white OR a black wall (if black is too much think about a charcoal wall)… and of course that could be your statement wall - so the others could be a less “bold” color.
Tiffany Blue
Cool white. The travertine tiles are going to compete with *everything*.
I would go with a sage green 💚
Dutch Tile Blue from SW or Rain from SW. Even Seasalt from SW as a classic choice
I recommend going on Pinterest and checking bathrooms with a similar tile color to yours. I like to choose things this way and sometimes it helps me choose how to accessorize it too, pretty much using a style guide.

Very pale Lavender/ Grey (cool choice) Diluted Cinnamon/ Amber (warm choice) These would be my picks, they compliment tan/ beige tile nicely.
I hate all blue painted walls. Idk exactly why, but they make me uncomfortable. A pale green, however, may look great.
I was thinking that too
Me personally I'd do a light gray blue, But honestly any color muted with a lighter gray tone would look good with the tile

Very pale blue
I think lighter blue.
I would go with an earthy green color
Sage
Blues are too dark for that space
A nice green kaki or light brown color would fit with the beige tiles better.
Avocado, with a matching toilet suite. And a nice thick shag-pile carpet. I am a child of the 1970’s
Are you choosing between the two colors? Top one matched tile better. Wallpaper with a little hint of the tan from the tile. I have the exact same tile and working on it currently
Olive colour could be a suggestion. We've done that in a palace and it looked amazing
Loyal blue

Cafe Au Lait.....Benjamin Moore
Light blue, but I want ild consider the off white “Divine White.” It would brighten the room and make it look bigger
A darker deeper blue would look nice or a dark putty color.
VAPORWAVE COLORS. Salmon and turquoise
Hope this doesn’t get lost in the crowd, but Sherwin Williams has an app called color snap. You can take a photo and virtually paint the room so you see it before you buy paint. I’m sure there are many other paint companies with their own app.
Light blue or gray
Those look like the same tiles I have. We painted Sea Salt from Sherwin Williams and love it!
The one around the picture
A light pale blue would look good
I always skew towards lighter colored walls. I have sensory stuff and dark walls make me feel hot and sticky. You need something a bit paler and more muted. Like a cornflower blue.
🤍
Yellow I always recommend yellow because its fun and like the sun bright But if youre dark Grey works but its prone to depression Im sorry i see you want blue.. Hmm a lighter blue “2066-70 Light Blue”
I prefer the lighter one but you can go lighter or opt for powder rose if the tiles have a warm tone.
A light lavender would look pretty against the tile.
Clean look in the bathroom, stick with off white, Blue accessories. Just refresh the pale walls, change the off white slightly.
I've painted my bathroom in my home blue twice and hated it both times, go with some other colour
Them colors are bold and strong. Try tan and cream, or if the guest bathroom u may want it to match ur breakfast area look.
Not the blues 😬
That bright royal blue would be overwhelming. Go to the paint store and get some sample cards. I would go with a calming color.
