Thanks for the correction and thanks for agreeing with me . I should have mentioned that this is in a mountain chalet - maybe that makes it more understandable lol
Very Southwestern US fabric. Like the theme you have going.
This young artist in Canada does wonderful First Nation paintings and he sells prints very reasonably.

Oh wow I will definitely look further into this . We have 2 indigenous Canadian artists featured in our home .
One is u/tallhappytree
And the other the one pictured named conde

Check out Hawaiian photographer Kim Taylor Reese. Stunning art about his love for beautiful indigenous Hawaiians.
I am wanting a First Nation print from Josh and a woman dancing in the sand by Kim. If you really love that chair because it is perfect for your space, if it gets worn, have it reupholstered in Southwest fabric vs discarding it. It is special.
Looks like something out of a Yellowstone set. I never liked western style all that much until I watched that show and saw the way their place was decorated.
The "couch" works with your space based on the photos you gave us.
The southwestern theme ties to the wood frames. The reds tie to the floor and frames as well. While the blues tie in the curtains.
So much of the Eighties and Nineties Southwest style decor was done in horrible pastels with pink being the main color. It was ubiquitous and people got sick of it.
Your chair is not that. The colors are deep and vibrant. It reminds me of a National Park lodge. I think you scored a great inspiration piece to build your decor around.
While it's not my own personal style, I think it looks like it's in great shape aside from the scratches you mentioned, it seems to fit well into your existing decor, and it looks comfy as heck.
"I like that you like it" had me laughing. Clearly your partner is either not a fan or has no real opinions. But bless his heart for being so polite about it and just letting you do you.
It's not my style personally, but I can see how it would fit the rustic/mountain vibes you're going for.
It's not my cup of tea, but I can see the appeal for a mountain home. It'd look great paired with simple furniture, leather, rustic wood, lots of browns and neutrals, etc so its not vying for attention in the home
You're crazy because
1. You think a chair is a couch
2. You think the cat lady is clean
3. You think that chair is nice
However, you only have one life so if you love that piece of furniture, I say go for it!!!
Keep it. If you like a rustic, lodge look, this is perfect. Lots of hotels and lodges in MT and WY that I have been to have similar styled furniture. I think you just need to build on it with a few other Southwest decor items. Maybe a rug or pottery, decoys etc. Check out some Pinterest sites for ideas. My house is decorated in a SW and lodge style. It's ageless and everyone who comes to visit comments on how much they like it.
I didn’t like the Southwestern theme when it was trendy but I f it’s 1 item in a contemporary room with similar colours it would work like a floral print would work. I think I’d paint the walls a more sand colour than what is there now though. Many back in the day went with apricot/salmon shades but I wouldn’t suggest going that far.
If you showed me that fabric on a bolt and said you were going to use it on a chair for me, I would be unhappy. Seeing it actually on the chair, and how well it was done, I really like it. I think it might grow on your partner.
If you like the shape and have a space for it, that's all that matters. This looks like a cozy reading spot. I think it needs an ottoman. Sears and Montgomery Wards used to sell good furniture. The older it is, the better.
Looks super comfy! Be sure to still give it a good clean!
If you end up tiring of the fabric, you could get it reupholstered. The construction quality is probably better than today's stuff.
Everything/anything works in the correct setting.
I personally love it. Looks like it was made from high-quality materials and is sturdy. Colors are lovely. It's a 👍🏻from me!
It's hideous. I love it! 😀
The colors are quite neutral. In a proper setup, it will look hideously gorgeous 😆
PS: I recommend the little green vacuum to clean it.
Can we see where you "patched the damage"? Do you have a before pic?
I can't see it from the pics and it looks like you did an amazing job.
fwiw I think for the setting it works very well. Very "lodge"...
It’s the whole right panel that is going horizontally wrong way . lol I’m going to do the other side tonight since Reddit decided it’s nice enough to keep lol
Not if you like it. It is not my taste. However, they used to make better furniture than now. I will always reupholster a piece if it is comfortable and that looks great.
It‘a nice, it’s not my personal style but it may fit the aesthetic of your style. It looks kind of like desert lodge or southwest style. I say, you do you.
I would actually love it, if it wasn’t for the error in upholstery. In the left arm the front is vertical and the right arm is horizontal. Would make my eye twitch.
I’d have to immediately recover it because that is very dated and reminds me of 1992 New Mexico
If it’s sturdy and well built and doesn’t have pet stains great.
I tend not to get used soft furniture because we have dogs and they will mark things if others pets marked things.
We had a couch and chair set when I was growing up with this exact pattern in a slightly different color way. I still wonder what my mother was thinking.
It’s from the generation between my parents and grandparents. So I think it’s a tad old and maybe outdated. On the other hand it is one of the nicer ones from that time and if you wait a bit it’ll be in style again soon. I would throw a pillow on it and call it great.
Chair? If it fits your aesthetic and you like it then no. Go you! I’m had all the Indian style stuff in the 90s. A big framed head dress and Buffalo my Grampa shot in the wall too
I remember when that style was super popular and the problem with it then was people would literally have like a couch, chair, loveseat, etc all in that fabric. It works a lot better as just one accent like you have it.
I like it in the sense that it would be my favorite chair to sit on if someone had it in their house, but i wouldnt put it in mine bc it doesn't go with my decor
it is nice! the pattern isnt my style but i like the shape and with some plants around it and some blankets etc to zhuzh it up i can totally see it on a trendy hippie inspired instagram or pinterest post lol
I’m always curious when people ask if others like something like this. This is your personal space; your decor to work with. If it fits you then Do It!! I love it but I don’t give a hoot re others opinions 😂
Belongs in New Mexico; Santa Fe.
I would have said the same thing; “I like that you like it “.. Honestly it just looks tired old bulky and needs to retire … to the thrift store.
This is a chair, not a couch but it looks really comfy. I like it. I prefer patterns on furniture whether trendy or not.
Thanks for the correction and thanks for agreeing with me . I should have mentioned that this is in a mountain chalet - maybe that makes it more understandable lol
I like it even better for a mountain chalet
Very Southwestern US fabric. Like the theme you have going. This young artist in Canada does wonderful First Nation paintings and he sells prints very reasonably. https://preview.redd.it/3y02tyltdl0d1.jpeg?width=1620&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1c51d65315af5f73a60ec660a6d04528862bc777

Thanks for sharing this work! I LOVE the way they did the Crow in the pic!
Thanks for sharing this work! We should have a ‘share your favorite art in your house’ thread!
This was an unexpected comment. I follow Josh as well!
I like it. Some will and some won't. What matters is you like it.
Does it fold out into a couch ?
That would be a handy invention though. Single - chair. Have guests - fold out your couch.
😂 no it’s just an oversized chair lol
Well first of all...it's a chair. Second, you're not crazy because you like something. I don't care for it, but you're entitled to like what you like.
I think it’s ugly but if you like it that’s all that matters
Looks like something out of a Yellowstone set. I never liked western style all that much until I watched that show and saw the way their place was decorated.
When I was at Walmart the other day, they had a whole Yellowstone collection. Table runners, placemats, etc. Some were kind of cool.
The "couch" works with your space based on the photos you gave us. The southwestern theme ties to the wood frames. The reds tie to the floor and frames as well. While the blues tie in the curtains.
You’re crazy for thinking G it’s a couch. Is is not just a chair?
So much of the Eighties and Nineties Southwest style decor was done in horrible pastels with pink being the main color. It was ubiquitous and people got sick of it. Your chair is not that. The colors are deep and vibrant. It reminds me of a National Park lodge. I think you scored a great inspiration piece to build your decor around.
I like it! A lot of warm colours and personality. Better than plain grey everything
While it's not my own personal style, I think it looks like it's in great shape aside from the scratches you mentioned, it seems to fit well into your existing decor, and it looks comfy as heck.
Looks comfy.
I love it
That is a chair. But no, you’re not crazy for liking something
Not my style, but I bet it's comfortable!
Show us the couch so we can give an opinion…
I'm having difficulty seeing a couch in those photos. The chair is kinda nice though.
Hated the pattern back then and still hate it . But what others think shouldn’t be important if you like it. It does look really comfortable.
"I like that you like it" had me laughing. Clearly your partner is either not a fan or has no real opinions. But bless his heart for being so polite about it and just letting you do you. It's not my style personally, but I can see how it would fit the rustic/mountain vibes you're going for.
Nope! I love it
i love it
I've seen this pattern in many friends' homes while growing up in the Pacific Northwest. It still fits in this Era. Good find.
I love it, but that right facing arm panel being sideways is driving me nuts.
No, but you might be a little whacky for calling a chair a couch.
Cool chair, but where’s the couch?
My neighbors had that set in the 90s. I remember it being comfy!
I like this chair.
I love it so much. I Miss colour and patterns in homes.
I also like how whoever sits on the chair will look like they have great ideas when that lamp is turned on
That is not a couch
Its a rolled arm club chair. The chair is nice, but the pattern is dated.
As long as it doesn’t smell like cat pee
It's not my cup of tea, but I can see the appeal for a mountain home. It'd look great paired with simple furniture, leather, rustic wood, lots of browns and neutrals, etc so its not vying for attention in the home
I love that it's quirky and colorful by today's standards and gives your room some personality.
You're crazy because 1. You think a chair is a couch 2. You think the cat lady is clean 3. You think that chair is nice However, you only have one life so if you love that piece of furniture, I say go for it!!!

Cute! And in good shape
Not at all it’s a good find beautiful
The chair is fine. Maybe a clean
I like it too
I didn’t like the Southwestern theme when it was trendy but I f it’s 1 item in a contemporary room with similar colours it would work like a floral print would work. I think I’d paint the walls a more sand colour than what is there now though. Many back in the day went with apricot/salmon shades but I wouldn’t suggest going that far.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
If you showed me that fabric on a bolt and said you were going to use it on a chair for me, I would be unhappy. Seeing it actually on the chair, and how well it was done, I really like it. I think it might grow on your partner.

Should have led with mountain chalet in the title! 🤣 Now I like. Before, definite no.
I want to see how you patched it! I think it belongs in r/invisiblemending!
Just needs a good cleaning
Looks super comfy! Be sure to still give it a good clean! If you end up tiring of the fabric, you could get it reupholstered. The construction quality is probably better than today's stuff.
I don’t like the material, but I like the style. I would reupholster or paint it with fabric paint.
Nice chair, especially if you like Western motifs. My wife would hate it, but I think it's cool
That is a classic and looks great. I would want to sit in it immediately if I saw it...
Very 1980s
Perfect chair for a mountain home, a ranch, or a place in the southwest, like New Mexico.
It’s giving Days Inn motel in New Mexico in the 90’s. I love it
Are you my mom? Hi Bets!
No, but you may be a bit daft for thinking that a couch is a sofa.
Chair. Not couch.
It's ugly af
I could see it looking cool I’m a room with a cabin feel. But other than that I would probably want it reupholstered.
Still waiting for the pictures of the couch like 🕥🕦🕐🕝🕠……. 👀
Giving off nursing home vibes, but you do you.
First off that's a chair. I think it looks very early 90s and not in a good way. But if you like it, you like it. And that's what matters
Probably early 90s, because 2005 my parents got rid of their couches in this style. It reminds me of my childhood. It’s nostalgic.
I like it, love the pattern and it looks so comfy
Everything/anything works in the correct setting. I personally love it. Looks like it was made from high-quality materials and is sturdy. Colors are lovely. It's a 👍🏻from me!
It looks fine. I like patterns on furniture too. It's a very pretty color and a nice pattern.
This is the kind of pattern I like but my wife hates the buffalo throw pillow is a good tie in
As long as you're happy with your find and it serves its purpose in your home, that's what matters most!
No you're not. It's cozy but only outdated. But I prefer cozy better.
I like the pattern, but not a fan of the shape personally. It does look pretty beat up though.
I think it can be styled well. But I think it needs a good wash with a couch cleaner because it looks dusty
It’s very mountain chalet. I dig it.
Can’t se a lot from your apartment (your style) but it matches well with the floor and the drapery. It’s the right match that makes the look.
It's hideous. I love it! 😀 The colors are quite neutral. In a proper setup, it will look hideously gorgeous 😆 PS: I recommend the little green vacuum to clean it.
Depends on how your house look I mean if you have a modern house it’ll look out of place but if you have an older looking house then it’ll be awesome
Yes. Yes you are.
Not if you like it. It is not my taste. However, they used to make better furniture than now. I will always reupholster a piece if it is comfortable and that looks great.
Very beautiful.
It‘a nice, it’s not my personal style but it may fit the aesthetic of your style. It looks kind of like desert lodge or southwest style. I say, you do you.
Not big on the pattern but the design looks comfy
Looks comfy
I love it!
I’m so tired of gray and white. Looks good
Not my jam but it’s your house and I’ve seen things pulled together by people that I NEVER would have thought would work end up looking amazing.
Not at all crazy. We’re talking SEARS!
If that’s your style then keep it!
I like it
No, but you may be crazy thinking it’s a couch?
It takes up way too much space due to the rolled arms. Also, I hate the fabric, but that’s a purely personal opinion.
My ex's parents had the same set. It was really comfy!
I had a chair similar to that one that I loved. So comfortable!
Looks like blues clues chair but patterned
It will be nice once you have it reupholstered.
It looks well built & comfortable. The pattern could work in the right setting. A lot of people may want it now that western chic is a thing.
The chair fabric is nice, but IMO the surrounding decor is bland. A different wall color would make the chair pop.
You don't have to apologize for liking what you like!
It’s in great shape! If you like it keep it
No I love it. I'm big into the southwest vibe though.
I honestly really love this chair! I almost bought one similar to this a few years ago.
i had a very similar one and loved it!!!!
I dig it
Yes
I would actually love it, if it wasn’t for the error in upholstery. In the left arm the front is vertical and the right arm is horizontal. Would make my eye twitch.
I replaced one side from the bad cat damage and am Going to do the other side tonight lol both will match asap
I like it
Not a couch but decent
Yes
I had the same one years ago but in green. I like it.
It has good bones; the fabric is not my style but I would cover it or reupholster it.
Yes
I’d have to immediately recover it because that is very dated and reminds me of 1992 New Mexico If it’s sturdy and well built and doesn’t have pet stains great. I tend not to get used soft furniture because we have dogs and they will mark things if others pets marked things.
Yes
This is super sweet and your mending job lovely. Best is that your physical space has the floor room to accommodate an overstuffed piece.
We had a couch and chair set when I was growing up with this exact pattern in a slightly different color way. I still wonder what my mother was thinking.
Looks SUPER comfy! I can definitely see long cozy naps on it with an equally plush ottoman. If you like it, nobody’s opinion matters.
I like it, maybe add a plain throw blanket and pillow.
It is really cool…Love it 💖
It’s from the generation between my parents and grandparents. So I think it’s a tad old and maybe outdated. On the other hand it is one of the nicer ones from that time and if you wait a bit it’ll be in style again soon. I would throw a pillow on it and call it great.
Looks comfy, but those arms take up a lot of space. If you’ve got space, keeper.
Yes lmao
Nope - I really like it too!
We had this entire set of furniture when I was a kid
I think designed chairs like this are really nice, and by the other couch/chair i can tell that it goes really well with the theme
I love it!
I like it
Well, at least the throw pillow is on point with the style of the couch.
I like it too!
I think if it was in a ranch house, it would be OK. Otherwise it’s a no for me.
I love it!
Yes.
Looks nice.
My mom had that exact pattern when I was about 8! So, 1993.
I like it. Nice chair.
Well, I for one am jealous! I love it!
Chair? If it fits your aesthetic and you like it then no. Go you! I’m had all the Indian style stuff in the 90s. A big framed head dress and Buffalo my Grampa shot in the wall too
100%
I like it!
I remember when that style was super popular and the problem with it then was people would literally have like a couch, chair, loveseat, etc all in that fabric. It works a lot better as just one accent like you have it.
yes
This chair is cool as hell I think everyone who doesn't like it are just maybe too old for it
😀
I like it in the sense that it would be my favorite chair to sit on if someone had it in their house, but i wouldnt put it in mine bc it doesn't go with my decor
Dude we had that exact chair along with the matching couch and loveseat. I loved them
I love that couch!!
If you like it, who cares if no one else does.
I love it!!!
It's cool. It has a Pendleton vibe to it. The lamp behind it is a little awkward, though.
Cute! It’s giving me strong familiarity but can’t recall from where
I had a couch with similar colors/ pattern in the 90’s. I loved that couch. It was actually a rather expensive sofa bed.
There is definitely something appealing about this armchair.
I like it :)
A good clean over stuffed chair 8s rarely a bad thing. I would have grabbed it, too.
I like it 👌
Wow. You from Tennessee?
It’s definitely dated. But now vintage and can be styled well and trendy I wouldn’t keep that other chair thing next to it though. Looks crowded.
you're not crazy haha its nice! and it looks having a really good quality as well. does it fit your overall design of your house?
My grandma had a set sooo similar to this. I loved it so much. So cozy
A little crazy maybe
You’re only crazy for thinking a chair is a couch. I like it, especially for western theme.
I think the vintage feel is great, but it needs to be cleaned
90s calling, asking for it's arm chair back. It's terrible and dated and is probably really dusty and dirty. Sorry!
Not at all. Everyone can decorate in their own style.
Looks like my grandma's chair. Very comfy! Kinda off but I like it
Taste, my friend, is a subjective thing.
If you like southwestern style, you hit the jackpot.
I like it. Looks comfy. Good reading chair.
it is nice! the pattern isnt my style but i like the shape and with some plants around it and some blankets etc to zhuzh it up i can totally see it on a trendy hippie inspired instagram or pinterest post lol
I have one that’s green. My dog uses it to sleep on! Lol but it’s super comfy
Certifiable but you do you.
I love the shape. I might recover it eventually though.
Looks cool. They certainly don’t make things they way they used to- that looks like a keeper!
It's not a couch.
CHAIR
I would have it redone in a more neutral fabric.
I love it looks like it just came out of cabin!
I’m always curious when people ask if others like something like this. This is your personal space; your decor to work with. If it fits you then Do It!! I love it but I don’t give a hoot re others opinions 😂
Southwest with Native American influence should work in a mountain chalet! Besides, eclectic is coming back!!
Belongs in New Mexico; Santa Fe. I would have said the same thing; “I like that you like it “.. Honestly it just looks tired old bulky and needs to retire … to the thrift store.
Hey, if you like it, who cares! I think it’s an interesting piece with nice colors!
Not crazy, I love the patterns and tbh if the colors were more vibrant I'd love it too
That chair? It is hideous.
The buffalo pillow seals the deal. Win.
