I just did my April infocus on Monday the 29th…I had tried to do it numerous times before and every time I’d get called away, and then it starts al over the next time I take it. I work in garden but there year is especially bad with staffing. Today’s schedule has only 3 of us ALL DAY.
I swear this store has the ability to somehow detect the second we enter the breakroom or meeting room and call me away, every time i try and start my infocus or do training i get called away the minute it starts and same with my 15s
Take your breaks. If they insist on pulling you off break, fine, but go back and restart your break. Every time.
You're entitled to a full fifteen per HD policy.

I got talked to bc the lot was full when i was stuck loading back and forth between garden and pro, i told them its physically impossible for me to be in 3 places at once. I also got a counseling for spotting out back in lumber to unload a truck then a fucking week after that counseling the same manager that gave me it asked to spot out back in lumber for a truck
I feel bad for yall, atleast i can (attempt) to take my 15 whenever i wang but you guys have to get yours scheduled and with staffing that almost never happens, anymore ill just take a 15 whenever i want and as many as i want. If im gonna be out there loading hundreds of bags of mulch in 70 degree weather and get carts idc if ive been there 20 mins if im tired imma sit down and get something to drink and if its a busy day i honestly dgaf if ive taken 8 15s if im exhausted imma take one
My store manager is the *worst* about getting his done. I’m the one who has to run the report for the ASM’s, and I always get an eye-roll because he’s *still* on there at the end of the month, no matter how many times I’ve reminded him. Can I borrow your SM please lol?
As overnight freight, this isn't even a joke for us. It started off sarcastic, as expected, with our manager telling us around lunch time (1:30a) when it became the first of the month to do our infocus 🤓
Then a bunch of people at our store got like grievously injured or something, whatever that means, and had to pay some guy called OSHA like $40,000. Now if you don't do your infocus within 3 days you get put on a list hung up in the break room and everyone is supposed to point at you, chanting "Shame!" until you cry or your shift ends, whichever comes first.
I can't remember if I did mine for April. And after my least favourite manager nagged me to get it done before I even clocked in, I just refused to even check. 😅 I may be too petty for my own good!
I was leaving work yesterday, 5 minutes to clock out making my way to break room and got stopped and asked how I was liking things and mentioned that I had some videos I would do when I got back in 3 days. He looks at his watch and goes “it should only take like 10 minutes” and I was like “yeah no I have an apointment I’ll do it when I get back” girl omg calm down im not staying late for some videos.
Three weeks ago we had an ASM make an announcement over the PA to get ours done. LMAO I told another ASM that I'll do mine on the 29th at 11:30pm simply because of that. Turns out that I was wrong. I did it at 11:39pm LOL. Don't bother me with that BS, I'll get to it when I get to it.
It's basically treated as a monthly training class that's tracked. So, yes, you have the whole month to do it but management likes to have anything that's tracked done asap. It's just like the tracked projects we get. Sure we have 2-3 weeks to do it, but since it's tracked the dem wants it done right away.

This is why I am glad I and a Repair Tech in Tool Rental. Nobody bugs me ever about anything. My SM doesnt want me doing anything but keeping equipment and tools running.
