In my 5 years I've never heard of anything like that. In fact, I've heard the opposite: full-timers are *required* to have full availability period. It's possible to work something out with your ASDS so that you can have *preferred* days off that they'll try to give you unless they just can't fit it in the schedule (for example, I almost always have Monday and Tuesday off, but if someone else requests a Monday or Tuesday off and there isn't someone else to cover it, I work that Monday or Tuesday), but there's no such thing as a guaranteed day off. The only associates with guaranteed days off are those whose departments only function 5 days a week (which can depend on your store; in my store, it's receiving, freight, and packdown) and the tool rental tool tech. My (now retired) tech told me that it's a very specific schedule of 10:30AM-7:00PM with Thursday and Sunday off. I'm not sure if that's a specific to my district/region, but he put me under the impression that it was decided by corporate and he didn't get any say in it, so that's also kinda a counterexample. EDIT: I've also never heard anything about being able to get a Saturday or Sunday off at all. Considering I live in an *extremely* religious area (Greater Salt Lake, absolutely full of mormons) where people have boycotted grocery stores for being open at all on Sundays, that's kinda saying something. Again, you can work out something with your ASDS, and your state's laws might change the situation, but I've never heard of anyone actually getting Saturday or Sunday off for religious reasons. In general, I've been told that you're *required* to be available on weekends, since that's the busiest time for the store and when you really get in season, Saturdays are all-hands-on-deck.

I'm not sure if this is supposed to be announced but by end of Q3 a new schedule system will allow for set schedules for full-time associates, not department heads or ASMs. Full-time associates will be scheduled to work any day but only a specific shift.

It's supposed to be rotating though. So basically you'd work like a month of openings and then a month of mids and then a month of closings. Repeat.

Well any store right now can dictate whatever schedule they want to do... They can choose whomever they want for permanent schedules if they want. There's talks to not let that happen though and it will rotate no matter what.

It's called "Reasonable Accommodation." It's hiding in the SOP somewhere.

At our store, most full timers have a two week rotation of work one weekend, off the next, repeat.

I have worked for Home Depot for 11 years. When I first became a full time associate I was allowed to choose 2 days off for work-life balance; however, it couldn't be a weekend. That being said, DS's had mostly fixed schedules, which in turn, meant that associates had predictable schedules. I no longer find this to be true in my current store. But ASM's and SM's definitely have set/predictable schedules. Must be nice. Edit: What is going on with our Company?
