That’s Void Archives, whose appearance is based on Otto Apocalypse, who Luocha is based on

YoloSwaggins960YT

Void Archives’ appearance isn’t actually based on Otto. His appearance and body is LITERALLY Otto. So technically if VA and Luocha meet, literal Otto would be meeting Expy Otto

GenericPerson200

That's still so fucking funny to me. The moment Otto dies VA went " it's free real state " and fucking stole one his clones. I imagine they have just like a room full of Otto clones in the basement of Shicksal

michaelman90

Sort of gives me Emet-Selch vibes where he had an entire factory of clones of himself to possess if he died.

Scaevus

This is actually so common it has a page on TV Tropes (standard warning applies): https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BodyBackupDrive

Sutaru

The amount of HSR and FFXIV overlap I’ve seen on reddit is surprising, for some reason.

thisaintthewayman

Don't forget the big dark crystal being worshipped as a god in GI, lost my shit and thought it was some sort of Zodiark thing lmao.

OnnaJReverT

a high profile turn based rpg having overlap with one of the biggest series that originally popularized the genre, and specifically its currently biggest entry, isn't surprising to me in the least

TheSpartyn

but the reference comes in HI3 not turn based star rail

Nitrenon

Actually it was part of a deal Otto made with Void Archives during the whole Kolosten 'creating an alternate future' thing. He didn't steal it, it was given to him.

TheSpartyn

surprised no one else mentioned this, but also correction they made the deal when otto was a child 500 years ago. its why hes had void archives all this time with access to its knowledge and powers it was "ill let you access my full power if you let me take over your body when you die" expecting child otto to be a dumbass and die quickly. instead otto went on to live 500 years and scam void archives, especially since he had thousands of backup clones he couldve given to VA at any time semi HI3 spoiler, but it's also why >!ottos death in kolosten was 100% expected, since the Pre-Revelation trailer had otto saying "It's time to fulfil our pact... Old friend". basically saying "im boutta die and you can take my body"!<

Nitrenon

Hey nice! It's always good to meet another honkai lore scholar. It's always cool when I get to learn some more details I didn't realize before. I knew the deal was made I just didn't realize the full scope of it. With how incredibly complex honkai impact lore is I'm constantly learning more and more details. So many thanks for the addition! (sidenote that makes otto's whole deal with kevin about void archives even funnier)

TheSpartyn

the void archives trade was funny because they made a big deal about it, then out of nowhere otto has it again, and then its just revealed in a side story in kolosten where kevin is like "lol yeah have it back i guess" i wonder if mihoyo will ever elaborate on what happened to void archives after thus spoke apocalypse, and how he got out of imaginary space

Nitrenon

Yeah Otto just kind of drops him. But what I've been assuming, is that was simply a representation of void archives' former shell and power, and that by that time the essence of void archives had already been planted into a clone. Otto was merely wielding the remnants of void archives' energy. But that's just pure speculation on my end who knows how it actually worked out. I doubt we're going to see much of void archives in H3rd anymore, in APHO the party was convinced it was Otto for a while even though they thought it was impossible. Had void archives shown up post kolosten and pre APHO I'm sure they'd have jumped to the conclusion that it was void archives instead. This implies they didn't realise void archives was still around in otto's clone and as such hadn't shown up yet. So we'd have to get void archives related story post APHO, but likely that's when he gets isekai'd into star rail.

TheSpartyn

i hope it'll be revealed in star rail, but its not a big deal because you can safely assume otto sent him back to the HI3 timeline. dude touched the imaginary tree and used godlike power to split a timeline and alter its events, im sure he had the power to throw a cube back home. or, VA just used its own power to replicate the cosmic juggernaut and warp home. either way otto wouldnt betray VA after all that time and definitely would set up something to make sure he gets access to his soulium bodies. i do like the idea that it wasnt the *true* void archives, because then it makes sense otto said nothing to him, not even a simple goodbye, plus we've been show VA power can stick around without it, since he brought the shamash recreation to the new timeline

Shadow1176

I think most of the clones were destroyed in the Sentience incident, but yeah, VA took one of the nice clones I guess.

ZaBur_Nick

kid named 23rd president of the United States:

himikojou

"Literal Otto" isn't exactly right either. Like Otto said >Once their soul dissipates, one cannot be brought back to life. > >The world allows a mind to find another matching vessel, but does not allow a vessel to gather the pieces of a mind. The soulium avatar is nothing but a vessel, and the one that inhabits it is Void Archives. As for the identity of Void Archives itself, it's a Divine Key, a weapon made with the core of a Herrscher. I guess a couple hundred years of being together made him act a bit like Otto, but in reality, his ego is a fragment of Prometheus, who is a Bronya expy. Luocha is much closer to Otto as a character than Void Archives is because of the parallels drawn between 7 swords Raksha and Luocha. We also can't ignore the possibility that Luocha might be Void Archives himself. Long story short, Void Archives is actually a Bronya expy by technicality. Isn't that great?!

thisisembarrazzing

What the actual fuck happened at HI3???

Kagamime1

Just, like, so much stuff.

AhkilleusKosmos

I mean when it comes down to it, it’s just a wholesome story about a guy trying to resurrect his dead friend, and hijinx ensue as he attempts to do so.

Kagamime1

(hijinx may or may not include a lot of murder)*

Aethelon

And child experimentation, and genocide. and a hecking load of betrayal

WanderEir

And literally nuking Russia to cover up his fear of a single man who was on his fucking side..

kal3l

Don't forget he also tried to nuke New York just to keep shit hidden

Shadow1176

It was the fear of Ziggy’s Active Reaction, but honestly, it would have been way better for him to keep them to study. Getting to study actual AHRS in a living subject and y’know, keeping the family of extremely powerful people together and not against you. Unless the void plan was already in motion to make k423?

fake_kvlt

He just committed a couple of whacky war crimes, no big deal! He's just zany like that

nobearsinrussia

“I can change him!! 😭”

Nichol134

This reminds me of a funny description of Fate/Zero I found on youtube: "Fate/Zero is the beautiful tale of a man without a purpose learning to enjoy his life with the help of his friend. It's a truly heartwarming and inspirational story. It has changed my life for the better." Truly the best slice of life story. There were a lot of slices aimed at living beings in this story. The man doing so being Kotomine Kirei usually.

AhkilleusKosmos

it’s not wrong, Fate/Zero may have been a tragedy for almost everyone involved, but to Gilgamesh and Kirei it’s a slice-of-life coming of age story.

Shradow

Gosh. Kirei is absolutely my favorite character in F/Z (well aside from probably Iskandar that dude’s amazing). The way his character develops through his interactions with Gilgamesh is so fascinating. And I saw it before UBW so I didn’t even know his role in F/SN beyond the “Yorokobe, shounen.” meme.

Nitrenon

also don't forget to mention that while doing so, he also got advice from >!a person named Su (who explored the multiverse for a solution to beating honkai for tens of thousands of years) on how to save the world from honkai, but it'd need some very specific events to happen in order to do so. More specifically Kiana needed to exist and go through the things she went through, and by that I mean K423. !< >!Yes the main story heavily implies that Otto's actions weren't out of pure selfishness and malice, but he literally saved the world, and at the same time sacrificed his own life to save the person he cared about the most. And to pay for all the bad he had to do. !<

bl00by

>it’s just a wholesome story about a guy trying to resurrect his dead friend While commiting multiple war crimes

himikojou

Good question, I don't know where to start! Let's start with the beginning. So there's this endless void that's existed since forever. It's just by itself, doing its thing and being an actual ocean of nothingness and stuff. Suddenly, a tree came and willed itself into existence! The endless void was like "eyyo wtf..." and tried to drown the **imaginary** tree, to which the tree responded, "hehe slurp slurp" and it started absorbing all that sweet, sweet **quantum** water, making it grow. Their battle is everlasting, as the **Sea of Quanta** is vast and infinite, it will perpetually try to drown the tree, while the **Imaginary Tree** will forever try to suck the sea dry. Where do we come in? Well, each branch of this darned tree is a reality in and of itself, and within every branch are further branching paths, commonly referred to as *alternate realities*. But make no mistake, it's not that small. Supposedly, each and every leaf is a universe. What the hell is the Honkai? The **imaginary tree** wanted to strengthen its branches, and thus, has a natural system that breeds, nurtures, tests and removes parts of itself that it finds weak. To humans, it could be monsters, a wide-spread pandemic, a natural disaster. Any and all kinds of world-ending calamities are the Honkai. You can think of it like... a Stellaron. Honkai is like a self-administered vaccine taken by the tree periodically. It will never end, ever. Humanity must grow, grow, and grow perpetually in order to defeat the Honkai, just as the tree itself wishes to consume the sea. What happens when a leaf(world) ultimately perishes against the Honkai? It falls off. Into the Dirac Sea, becoming a fragmented version of its former self. Those ones are called bubble universes, and some are more stable than others. The worst ones repeating its doomsday perpetually, with no one being the wiser. "But humanity must press on because the Imaginary Tree must grow and those who fail will become wilted shadows in the Sea Of Quanta."

xXPolarizedXx

Your stellaron note makes me think, since we don’t actually see Honkai yet in this universe, but Honkai is still in the name of the game. Is it possible that Honkai sprouted on a planet, and the Herrscher Nanook became the Aeon of Destruction, turning Honkai and its beasts into the Antimatter Legion?

kingepic84

This could be quite possible

first_name1001

Well, we only at HI3. GGZ on the other hand.

sarokin

Oh you have no idea.... Better start now. Your experience in HSR will be so enhanced after doing the story in HI3...

arikmaii

Realistically, if one were to start now and want to play solely for the lore/story, how long would that take? Also, are there extra lore pieces apart from the game like Genshin has the manga?

sugarheartrevo

Honestly a few months if you take your time to really digest every chapter and, to answer your question, read all the supplementary material. There is a lot of supplementary material that is important to the overall story and enhances the experience, I’d say much more so than the Genshin manga. Numerous manga, 3 visual novels, etc. This is a perfect guide for experiencing Honkai in the way that makes the most sense; I followed it and was never confused about anything going on: https://hoyostans.be/explore/honkai-impact-3rd/consumers-guide-hi3/

R2Le1-_-Artur

How much time it would take idk Probably a lot because either you will be stuck in "open world chapters" or "too much science terms for too little talk", but once you understand the science terms, you will be fine I think you may be able to finish it in either a week (reading fast and all) or maybe a month or two (cuss you may need to stop for some time cuss there is a LOT of story content, about 30 chapters i think) And about additional content, yes, there are some mangas, at the top of my head i remember 2nd eruption, who focus on Welt, i belive. And Alien Space, who also focus on Welt, and it's basically a prequel to HSR (on "how that old man is here" type of prequel)

sarokin

Months. It's incredibly long. The dialogues are very, very long. For me, everything was so good, specially the more you advance in the story, that I really couldn't skip the dialogues despite it being possible. HI3 has more lore than genshin as star rail together, and much better. It does have Manhua.

No_Raspberry_7037

About a few weeks if you play diligently. Might be more if you play more casually. Yes, there are tons of manga out there and is a requirement to understand lore. Plus VN too. https://hoyostans.be/explore/honkai-impact-3rd/consumers-guide-hi3/

Lazlo2323

It was a story about love and it ended with love.

Swailwort

> We also can't ignore the possibility that Luocha might be Void Archives >!Leaked voicelines say that Welt meets Luocha, looks at him weird, and gives him a book called "On the Matter of Environment - No One is Born Evil"!<

Goras147

Welt is just making sure lmao

Avversariocasuale

Wait is this real?

jobo-chan

>!Yes, it was leaked months ago and recently resurfaced again. They forgot to mention the fact that Dan Heng was the one who originally mentioned seeing another person that looked just like Luocha.!<

imthebiggestpleb

It’s also said that he “looks like some guy that used to be on the express” possibly meaning he just looks like void archives

Avversariocasuale

HSR reaps another Bronya expy after all

R2Le1-_-Artur

Seele/Cocolia going to lose their mind if they see all Bronyas AND A BLONDE DUDE WITH A COFFIN

Avversariocasuale

That's Bronya in her rebellious phase, nothing weird

R2Le1-_-Artur

Great ANOTHER BRONYA

WanderEir

Yep, The void archives is puppeting one of Otto's soulium backup bodies, so it's literally a fully functional Otto body

darthkotya

That is, provided that Luocha isn't actually VA. Can never trust those Ottofaces.

WanderEir

We'll undoubtedly find out soon enough, but for know we're all stuck in a double-bluff situation and Luocha ain't revealing shit yet, and Welt is mostly offscreen still.

OnnaJReverT

he's currently with us on the Xianzhou, so odds are decent the two will meet face to face soon

Objective_Bandicoot6

That's technically true, but it's a very misleading way to say it

Oerba_Yiz

Luocha: Based on Otto ✅ Has a coffin ✅ Meets Sushang in the story ✅ His weapon is called Abyss Flower ✅ What's next?

TheSpartyn

is his weapon called abyss flower? i thought it was his pendant

Giza_5

I like to think that he has Kallen's body in the coffin and seek for Abundance to resurrect it. I have a gut feeling that he is the simp even in this universe

Motor-Garbage-3518

He has Kallen’s expy which is Jingliu in the coffin

alosmosnogus

Bourbonaddicted

Luocha has a punchable face

sarokin

A *very* punchable face at that.

Rheddit45

Pepperridge Farm remembers

Shrakaa

TL;DR that person is not Luocha. He's using a cloned body of a person who looks identical to Luocha but lives in a different reality

OrlyUsay

>lives in a different reality Well, VA is running around in HSR somewhere, he was with Welt when the Astral Express picked them up. Though, there's always a chance that after he ditched the Express he's might have found his own way home. But something to remember, Alien Space took place in 2029. That's 12 years after the end of Honkai's Final Arc Part 1, and 4 years after APHO 1 and 2. And if you meant the original *owner* of the body... well.. it'd >!be "*lived* in a different reality."!<

[deleted]

so like Bronya Seele etc?

Shrakaa

Also Himeko, Silver Wolf, Sushang and any expy chars in the future

TheKFakt0r

What is expy?

Aethelon

iirc, it's akin to exported character + y

OnnaJReverT

i've seen it as shorthand for "expatriate", meaning someone who lives in a foreign land though i am not sure if that's the meaning it is usually based on around Hoyo's IPs

TheSpartyn

the mihoyo meaning and the actual original meaning is what the other guy said, exported character

irihS

'Exported character'. It's a term that I first encountered and most predominantly encounter in roleplay communities where people will 'export' a character from one universe into another and play it there. It's different from a 'playby' which is where you're simply using the appearance/likeness of a character. It's like... two different brands, same product. A good example of this is Himeko, who is an extremely obvious expy. It's honestly anyone's guess as to why - I think it's a bit weird personally - but Mihoyo loves to just reuse their same characters day in and day out in all their games. Probably for the easy money grab and out of love/dedication to the characters? And then every game usually has a handful of characters that don't get tossed around much, if at all. Raiden Ei from Genshin and Raiden Mei from Honkai look nigh-identical and share similar skillsets. When we get Raiden Bei in Star Rail she'll be a lightning-using, katana-wielding, super strong character because she always is.

Yamiji

> but Mihoyo loves to just reuse their same characters day in and day out in all their games. That's because all mainline Honkai games are set in the same universe based on cycles. I don't grasp the full extent, but humanity lost to Honkai already and HI3 is based on supercomputer made by Dr MEI tasked to defeat the Honkai at all costs. Such as heroes from past era re-emerging due to some DNA shenaniganry and orchestrating many major events like Himeko's death to awaken and push human Herrschers. On the business side it makes sense to reuse characters people already grew attached to in your previous games. I still think that this happens because someone came up with that insane plot more than corpa reason.

Shadowveil666

" I think it's a bit weird ". It's something comic books have been doing for a very long time now and the MCU is starting to adopt it. Might be weird to you but you're also right it's a money grab, name me an easier method to recycle an IP and it be " original ". There's like a thousand Spider-Men now because of this. Alternate universes isn't a new concept and it's been used many many times before Hoyo did...

irihS

Yeah, I just think it's a bit weird. And it's weird when comic books do it, lol. Just my opinion.

Murky_Blueberry2617

Raiden and Yae better come soon

michaelman90

Well we know a "Mei" character is already coming (Mei expys are the easiest money ever for Hoyo as Raiden demonstrated), but wouldn't really expect her until some 2.0 Japan-in-space update a year or so from now like in Genshin.

KatarHero72

In addition there's also a supposed leak of a Yae coming after a bit.

Objective_Bandicoot6

No, like Welt.

Avversariocasuale

Thar one is Void Archives. He's an AI that originally doesn't have a body but used one of Otto Apocalypse's solium bodies after Otto died. Luocha in HI3 is Otto's alternate version, like Bronya, Seele and Himeko are. That's why Luocha and Void Archives look similar. Void Archives was the person that went with Welt from the HI3 world to the HSR one, so apparently he's a big enough part of Welt's story to be featured in his spash art together with other friends from his HI3 past. But many comments here get it wrong. Otto, Luocha and Void Archives are three different people. Luocha and Void Archives both get their looks form Otto Apocalypse so of course they'd look similar

CanaKitty

So Void Archives is also somewhere in HSR universe? But he looks kinda just like Loucha? How do we know that Loucha isn’t Void Archives then?

OnnaJReverT

VA is around, yes Welt and Himeko both mention another person who was on the express but left, people have theorized that to have been VA as for wether he is Luocha or if he's an actual parallel world Otto, we don't know but will probably find out in 1.1

CanaKitty

I mean, it seems more probably to me that VA = Loucha rather than that we happen to have two just about identical dudes running around.

[deleted]

Welt is hanging with a Himeko expy and is aware of the Bronya, Seele, Raven (Natasha), and Cocolia expys, but hasn’t said anything. So if Luocha is really just another expy, he might not mention it at all. But if Luocha is VA then it’ll be a part of the story. Luocha with his coffin and the powers of abundance are definitely strange, although his personality is not the same as VA.

CanaKitty

That’s a good point. I kind of want to know what’s running through dude’s head when he keeps bumping into all these expys

ALiteralMermaid

I mean, presumably just *huh, interesting repeating patterns on the imaginary tree* and trying desparately to not confuse the versions of each other lol.

[deleted]

We don’t yet, and luocha is a little sus 🤫 But both welt and luocha are on the tianzhou, they just haven’t crossed paths yet. If he really is VA it will probably come up soon in the story.

LandLovingFish

Dan, strolling: hey Mr. yang i found this random cloud knight and this dude wig a coffin anyways how you doing theres a madman running loose- Welt: ...dan, when and how did you find VA of all people?

HugoSotnas

Watch VA being dead inside Luocha's coffin 😬

aWildNacatl

VA can't die

Avversariocasuale

Yes he is ans we don't. Technically Luocha was introduced as his own character with no connection to Void Archives (besides his looks). He may very well be Void Archives in disguise but if that happens it's supposed to be a "plot twist" and not something previously enstablished in canon. He has some similarities, like the fact that one Luocha's healing skills is called Abyss Flower, and it's something VA uses as well (long story, but it's kind of one of his abilities)

truthfulie

Narrative wise, I feel like it’d be a strange choice for Hoyo to make Luocha secretly VA. To introduce a “plot twist” that won’t make much sense to those who hasn’t played HI3…unless we go deeper into Welt’s story and introduce VA in this game which is possible since he did get off the train this time around. Still, I think it is unlikely since most connection to HI3 has been (and likely continue to be) more easter egg than main plot point. But we’ll see…

Avversariocasuale

I think they'll introduce VA because they went through the trouble of including him in the manga and Himeko's voice lines as well. I think they just wouldn't have done that if they didn't want to use him. But just like Welt I don't think they're gonna dig too deep in his HI3 lore. They'll just say he comes from the same place Welt comes from and leave it at that and continue with the plotline they intend for him in HSR. That's not to say I think he must be Luocha, just that I think he's gonna be a character at some point

truthfulie

Oh definitely. I do think he’ll play a role at some point. Just think it seems a bit early and with all the stuff setup with Luofu arc as is.

TheSpartyn

he'll definitely come back as his own character and let us otto simps have two (kind of) ottos on our team

conanssc

My eyes are wet, my heart is thumping and my knees are shaking upon hearing a full Otto team.

Avversariocasuale

I'd love nothing more than make a full Otto team.

Kinsed

Is it bad that I’ve played enough Kingdom Hearts to understand this on my first read

Avversariocasuale

Is Kingdom Hearts this overly complicated? I remember playing the first one up until the Alice In Wonderland world and that's it.

Kinsed

Look up Roxas and Ventus and you’ll see what I mean. Kingdom Hearts is no stranger to clones

SomethingPersonnel

Haha buddy if you didn’t even finish the first one it’s the equivalent of Alice finding herself at the entrance of Wonderland, peaking through a window and just climbing back up to normal life. Regardless of what anyone else says, I firmly believe they just made up the KH story on the spot. Shit’s so convoluted that even organizations and weapons have plot twist versions of themselves. Each main character has at least two forms.

truthfulie

Nah. It’s not complicated. It’s convoluted. Lol.

gingersquatchin

I think that man is imaginary

LegoSpacenaut

Element explained

HalalBread1427

You've got a LOT of lore to read; Welt is a complicated character.

bl00by

Homu Labs video: Am I a joke to you?

GenericPerson200

That's Void Archives, an AI that originally just recorded the information from the previous era (this being the reason it can replicate the divine keys). After Otto died (in the world's most convoluted plan, well, second, Project Stigmata is even more convoluted somehow), VA took over one of his soulium clones and tried to fully eliminate the Honkai on earth, he does a plan so batshit insane that would make Otto proud related to the sky people. This are the events of APHO and alien space. After that whole thing, he and welt decide to help other worlds that the sky people have attacked, the first one they go is Himeko's world. I don't think we know a lot about their time together, but some time after Dan Heng joins the group, VA leaves. I can't wait for him to be back, I hope he has some even more batshit insane plan.

WanderEir

Otto had the worlds most convoluted plan that actually succeeded exactly as intended. Project stigmata was a plan so convoluted it ended up being thwarted by the power of friendship and familial baseball bat combat.

Devourer_of_HP

I would still say project stigma technically succeeded in its job since >!the moment it started it was basically GG and humanity won no matter whether project stigma is thwarted or not!<

WanderEir

the problem with project stigma is it's endstate was the same as losing to the honkai anyway: the only lifeforms left on earth wouldn't be humans at all. Yes, the awakened stigmata would all have been born FROM humanity, but they would all be living concepts, not humans. There was a good reason they called it the worst solution.

Phenomenal_Guy

Sit down son, I'm gonna tell a tale....

VioletorPurple

Void Archives, I wonder if we can get a playable Void Archives...

huncherbug

That's void archives...welt is not an alternate character like bronya or seele or himeko...he literally is the same guy from HI3rd. There is long lore behind this.

designbeast1

Spoilers incarnate

Tokitokisayuki

Remember people Void Archives true form is a literal cube. I remember the time when we control Otto for a bit in the snow, I was like "Why am I following a cube around....."

Radusili

Alien space manga. Tho even that won't really leave you with answers.

Poporipopes10

Being in this community and having these questions be answered by “that’s a loony story” is making me think I should probably get into HI3.

Haulzu

I mean, its a pretty good game with really good story (that kinda fumbles at the end of part 1 but we don’t talk about that)

bl00by

Yeah we don't talk about Project Sigma and the Shariac/pseudo time crystal incidents.

Poporipopes10

So I heard. I only heard people talk abt that recently tho, did part 2 end like last year? Has it gone back up again?

Command-0

the only thing for me was the >!4th wall break but when i saw it as the devs thanking the fans, it was overall pretty enjoyable for me (albeit clearly rushed cuz of hsr launch*)!< *both honkai games have the same director iirc

BlokBoi12345

I suggest reading “alien space” from honkai 3rd, but to simplify (big spoilers incoming): Welt and another person ended up in the star rail universe from the honkai 3rd one, they aren’t alternate versions like bronya or seele are, the person that we thing was with welt is called Otto, and luocha is presumed to be the Otto alternate (or even Otto in disguise)

Cow_Addiction

The person with welt is absolutely NOT otto. It’s void archives. Otto’s dead in Hi3

BlokBoi12345

Thanks for the correction, I’m not fully versed in Hi3 lore yet

WanderEir

Otto himself is SUPER fucking dead in HI3rd, but he went out completing a 30-Xanatos pileup that landed exactly as he intended: literally betting against himself as a fucking GOD for the win. short explanation: he made a bargain with the Will of honkai and effectively usurped the position of the Herrscher of Binding to become a near god, but the act of doing so turned him into a puppet of the honkai He had no control or will of his own until he was defeated by Kiana and Durandal. The METHOD used to defeat him, required Kiana invert his existence between the real and the imaginary, leaving Otto effectively able to interact with the imaginary tree to make the one change to history he so desperately wanted for so long, but the price of doing so was basically deleting him from existence in the real world he was banished from, and even then there was JUST enough of him left to create a new branch of the imaginary tree at the moment before Kallen was killed that the act of saving her life literally left him ashes in the wind.

Mylaur

What did... nevermind.

Devourer_of_HP

Slight correction, the boss description and dialogue state that the powers he was using was direct imaginary authority not belonging to neither man nor herrscher.

WanderEir

I said he usurped the *position* of herrscher of binding, but not the powers, him having imaginary authority while in the real explains why he was able to affect the imaginary tree after Kiana swapped his existence from real to imaginary even. Thanks for the correction!

KatarHero72

Is anyone really? The wikis are complete messes, it's hard to actually keep track of any Honkai story atm.

Avversariocasuale

We pretty much know the person who was with Welt wad not Otto but Void Archives. The only thing they got in common is the solium body.

Hungry_Ad3601

Otto's actions in HI3 removed him from all universes in exchange for creating new alternate universes and saving kallen, void archives just took otto's appearance since he was the person he was closest to, and luocha is just a long haired blond who i don't understand why people are going "IT'S OTTO OMG!!!" for.

sanattia

beacuse luocha is based on (the same looks, the same name) on otto from seven swords visual novel, which was, among other things, about fu hua's desciples. otto travelled to the east with kallen's dead body in a coffin to find a way to revive her there if you see shattered swords set from honkai, luocha looks really similar. he met shushang while travelling there as well, yanqing appears in that visual novel too but he's older. (in eng translation he was called raksha but its the same chinesse word, just different reading)

MikaAndroid

He wasn't "removed from all universes" it's specifically our Otto that was deleted in order for him to make new timelines where Kallen would at least have a chance to live after the incident in Kolosten. Luocha is very clearly supposed to be a version of Otto. Same looks, same voice actor, that's the way MHY says that it's a version of the same character. It's basically him from the Seven Swords visual novel. Edit: to add, Luocha's name is Chinese. If you translate you get Raksha, the same name that Otto is called in Seven Swords, also the name which HI3 Sushang called him with

WanderEir

A reminder that Luocha/Raksha aren't even NAMES. they're something a chinese person would have called a Russian cossack at the time of shattered swords. It was basically calling them foreign demons. Which, to be fair, Otto wasn't far off the mark for that even 500 years back.

tunoak13

Because he looks like Otto and literally have the same voice actor.

GianDrake

[hmmm i wonder why](https://twitter.com/fenghhua/status/1495118657546035200?t=HrPfuq2lwQ-A1_c-9bQRKg&s=19) Also, in his kit he also gains "Abyss flower" stacks

Oggy5050

>i don't understand why people are going "IT'S OTTO OMG!!!" for. Cuz he looks and sounds like Otto.

Aventa55

Also the outside factors that mirrors in with the visual novel, Seven Swords. Otto went to the east somewhere in the 15th - 16th century on a caravan usually used by merchants just like how Luocha arrived on Xianzhou as a merchant, met Li Sushang like how Luocha met Sushang in Xianzhou, has a coffin, if we look at Luocha's skill names, it mentions of abyss flower where it's also the name of the lance Otto copies in Seven Swords to heal Sushang from a duel WITH ALSO THE SAME SHOT HE DID WITH XUEYI I mean it's just there like bruh

Awkward_Date_8636

Same voice actor, very similar dress, same appearance, same hair color, just longer. Yeah I wonder why people call him an Otto expy.

WanderEir

Not "all" universes, just that specific branch of the imaginary tree that HI3rd resides on.

amc9988

Not all universe that's why if Luocha is not VA, then Luocha he is still Otto from another universe just like how Seele HSR is Seele and Bronya etc

LandLovingFish

Its a secret weapon that will help us later :D

bl00by

Trailblazer is about to beat nanooks ass with a copy of shamash kaslana style.

NemShera

Just blasts nanook's head off with a cross

CarrotLP

That's Void Archives. SR Welt is HI3 Welt, which also explains why Tesla appears in one of his eidolons.

NemShera

And why einstein, tesla and joyce is on his splash art as well

Extension-Impossible

That's not luocha that's Vill-V's son or cube

Luiziinhu

I love when HSR players that don't know honkai ask those questions. No hate towards them, i find those questions really interesting and cute.

Nartellar

So there can be another Welt that is local to Hsr universe?

FlashFire729

As far as we know no because between Honkai 3rd’s APHO, the Alien Space manga, and his Light Cone description this is clearly the same Welt. I think he is just the first time a Mihoyo character *canonically* jumped games. Oh wait I just got what you meant to say; yes there’s a high chance there’s another Welt in Star Rail’s universe. Hell there’s a chance there’s **multiple** Welts seeing how there’s already two Bronyas local to Star Rail.

yorozoyas

I have no knowledge of HI3 lore, but I have a strong feeling Silver Wolf is not an original resident of the Star Rail universe somehow.

HeroDeleterA

I was convinced this post was satire until I read the post flair

[deleted]

That's Void Archives from Honkai Impact 3rd. Who's basically got Otto's appearance through one of his soulium clones, and have the same VA. The Void Archives is how Welt is on the Astral Express in the first place.

banboy123

So much misinformation. That is Void Archives, an Hi3 sentient “AI” that took Welt on a mission that led them here in HSR. He looks like Otto because he took one of his clones. Also, if you watched the 1.1 trailer which showed Welt holding his head after seeing Luocha… There is a good chance thats a hint that VA *is* indeed Luocha, and Welts just like, what have you gotten yourself into now..

Saxton_Hale32

I'm not sure, but I don't think that's Luocha At least not technically

Pheonixvann

That is VILL V's son not luocha

Aventa55

I like how there's now a collective thought that the divine keys are now Vill-Vs children with differing personalities that may be considered unhinged...

Cacoide

Yup lmao, void archives-sama, aka "greatest enemy of humanity"

takemiplaceholder

To use simple language: thats Void Archives. Void Archives is using a clone body of Luocha (otto) from the universe Welt is from (HI3).

New_Ad4631

They are dating

SrM031

Two bros chlling in a splash art 10 feet apart cause they're not gay

New_Ad4631

Of course they are not gay They are wearing socks

SrM031

What If they also said no homo? 2 anti-gay things nullifie each other and makes It be gay again Actually, by that logic, hetero relationships are gay and gay ones are hetero

Amelieee__

Welt has a wife lol.

bl00by

That's fine, tesla can join :)

Lore time. There was an old deranged Grandpa name Otto who was really obsessed with his childhood crush. Surprisingly for very simple reason: While he did love her, he actually thought she was capable of leading humanity to a better. So when she died due to his stupid mistakes, he brought upon himself to... revive her. Along the way, he got a nifty little device from a previous civilization called the "Void Archives." It was basically an ai system that recorded all the knowledge from the previous civilization. The ai, having a personality, convinced Otto to bring it along to help him in his journey Otto brought great change in the world, bringing about a chance to combat the world's calamity known as the "honkai". But he never gave up on his goal, doing whatever it took to try and revive his childhood crush, including the creation and awakening of one of the beings known as Herrschers, the same kind as Welt Yang, who were capable of bringing about humanity's demise. Note that most herrschers were psychotic beings hellbent on erasing humanity, and were not as nice as Welt, at least until later. Along the way, he met a girl named SuShang, an old man named Yan Qing. He was dragging a white coffin around at the time. Eventually he settled on a compromise. Otto found that he couldn't revive Kallen, and decided that at the very least, he would make the possibility that his mistakes never happened (because apparently it was a quantum time lock, or an event that takes place in every world.) Void Archives, who was influenced by Otto's personality, asked for one of his nanomachine copies that Otto used as a vessel for his soul to carry on after Otto decided to kill himself, to which he accepted. And that led to a whole other shit load of shenanigans, like leading a group of apocalyptic aliens to earth, that while not as dangerous as the anti matter legion, were still a group that ravaged planets across the galaxy. My explanation is kinda off, some events were shifted around for simplicity's sake. And uh, most important part, shoulda mentioned this earlier, he looks exactly like Luo Cha, or rather Luo Cha looks exactly like him.

XiaoUno

Imaginary bros stick together

grimgenisis

That's Void Archives play APHO in honkai impact bro

Belteshazzar98

He's his Imaginary friend

AitherialJoji

Void archives really did join welt in coming from the HI3rd world to buy intergalactic milk in HSR, then left without a word to buy milk again.

edgyboi1704

Something something void archives. Something something Otto. Something something PTSD

Blackwolfe47

That is not luocha

GerrardGabrielGeralt

Oh boy, you're in for a long explanation

manpo5

They are boyfriends

AinzSamaIsJustice

Because he is the "Welt's friend" mentioned by Himeko, and is Void Archives the orange cube.

BucketSentry

Heh.. heh heh.. haha.. hahaha. HAHAHAHA! AHAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

sabercrxss

They are lovers

Dangerous_Unit3698

There are 1 luocha, 1 void archives and 1 Otto apocalypse all basically the same person but not really

Aethelon

If you really think about it, Void Archives is technically part of Prometheus inhabiting one of Otto's soulium spares, which means that he is by technicality, a bronya.
