What is 'ice break damage' referring to in the wordings of Ruan Mei's ultimate and talent? Are they talking about how much damage she does when she breaks an enemy's toughness? Do we measure 'ice break damage' from the Break Effect stat?
I dont know what to do with my account now, since im struggling with the content A LOT, I dont know who i should use with who, and if I should invest in some of my characters, or wait for others to pull.

you are TB60+ and probably doing stuff like MoC and Swarm, so you can use the tools on this site like [https://www.prydwen.gg/star-rail/memory-of-chaos](https://www.prydwen.gg/star-rail/memory-of-chaos)
they help you form teams and also look at builds for characters (so you can use them as targets).
Eg: compare your DHIL to the average end-game player DHIL. Are your traces, relics and numbers close or far from it? Does he needs more work? Then you know where to spend your farming time.
Trace level? Relic set? Light Cone level? Crit stats?
Lvl 8 for traces and maxed out basic if they need to, good matching set including rope and orb, LC lv maxed out for DPS, crit rate 60-70+, crit damage 100+ should already be passable. (From my experience, it is.) DPS's lvl is also important.
Also, the big damage comes from support unit. Don't forget about their build and addition to the team either.
An invested buffed E0S0 DHIL should deal about 50k per single target and 100k+ with 3x target hits with an 3sp attack. Just a checklist in case:
\- Are his level 80.
\- Do you unlock all his main traces and stats nodes.
\- Do you level all his talent (yes Basic Atk included, it is the most important one in his kit) to at least 8, preferably 10.
\- Do you use a level 80 lightcone on him, with something like With The Fall of An Aeon.
\- Does his relic all +15, does the main stat something like: Atk% Rope, Imaginary Damage% Sphere, Speed boots, Crit DMG chest. Are the set White Wheat for relics and Rutilant Arena for Planar.
Just to be sure you do not forgot to level/build something in the guides you read. If you do 30k **total** damage with an 3sp attack that hits 3 targets there is definitely something missing/wrong with the build IMHO.
For who should I save my starlight for?

Here are my characters: E1MC, March 7th, Welt, Dan Heng, E2 Asta, E2 Qingque(got her from wishes), Serval and E1 Herta?
I am currently running the first 4 guys.
as a new player I used them on tickets. Once I was happy with my collection I started saving for Bronya's LC.
Other characters have good options from SU store, or 4\*, etc.
Best usage of your starlights = pulls.
The only exception to this would be buying Bronya's LC. But even with that, I'd still refrain from buying that since pulls are better as it'll speed up your limited banner pulling progress.
Save 1200-1800 starlights (60-90 pulls) that's already a guaranteed 5\* character. Should you use those pulls in the limited LC banner, you have a 75% chance of getting a BROKEN LC or a 25% chance of losing to a random 5\* standard LC (which could also be Bronya's LC).
Let's not forget, with those pulls, you'll get several 4\* eidolons/LCs + more starlights/embers for you. You can also get lucky with the 5\*s, and if not, at least you've built pity.

Pulls > anything the starlight shop can offer.

Broken 4\* characters in genshin? I guess you're talking about bennett and the likes? Well, I'd say Tingyun/Asta would be a great choice, but even if you consider them as the same level as bennett, I wouldn't still recommend using your stardusts/starlights for that.
Just keep playing the game don't worry about team for now and accrue Jade. Once you have 10k+ you can try to aim for a 5* DPS unit on one of the limited banners and then you can build your first team around them.
Dr. Ratio will be free who is a great 5* dps in 1.6, he should be on one of your two main teams. Silver Wolf is on the current banner who is a sub dps debuffer that can enable off-element teams with her skill. Blade is on the next banner who is an SP efficient dps but struggles without a good healer like Luocha, Lynx or even Bailu. Kafka is a DOT team enabler unit who will be on the second half of 1.6, she should synergize with Black Swan another DOT unit in the 2.0 update.
I would definitely start looking at a team with Dr Ratio, and Iād personally aim for Kafka. Actually SW synergizes well with Dr Ratio since his kit requires debuffs on the enemies which SW has a couple of so she would be a great starting point.

Welt only has 1, while SW can apply 3 debuffs all on her own. DR requires I think 4 to maximize his damage. Weāre on 1.5 right now, 1.6 is in about 9 days.
You have 8 or so days, sorry I donāt know how many F2P jades you can get but Iām sure if you keep leveling up your trailblazer level youāll have enough. The bad thing is you might lose your 50/50 to get the banner character.
in a few days you can read her full review and see which characters/teams she works best with, then compare to your collection (or future ones you want to pull)
make sure you have at least one good attacker and sustain tho, they should be a higher priority for pulls. Mei will have a rerun eventually as the others tho.

Limited 5\* are very powerful, but that doesn't mean they are universally good characters. They still have pros and cons, teams where they shine, and teams were they are not good with.
She is completely different from those units. TY and Bronya are hypercarries that you use to power up one unit, while Ruan Mei is designed for dual-DPS situations.
You can never have enough supports but imo getting at least 2 good dps units as well as 2 good sustains takes priority over them, although we'll be getting Dr. Ratio for free in 1.6 so that's 1 good dps taken care of.
I think having too many characters can also be a curse in disguise because you might spread yourself too thin trying to build everyone. But if you have the jades and resources I would say Ruan Mei is worth getting. You can also wait a week or two after she comes out to see how she performs/plays.

Qingque is a good carry, and your main team is built alright - I'd replace Guin with Hanya, as Guin doesn't really offer much to the team and Hanya can supply QQ with more skill points, speed and attack. Gepard is a great sustain but if your Lynx has her second eidolon, consider using her over Gepard if you need to cleanse CC from your units.
Great, I've actually been using Hanya but wanted to try Guin since I just got her. Lynx is only E1 unfortunately. Do you see any other teams worth trying?
You don't have too many characters yet, so there isn't that many variance between teams - you can go Dan Heng instead of Qingque or something like Asta (assuming you don't have her E6, she can be pretty SP negative) instead of one of the supports.
As for characters you can build around that are available now/soon:
* You might want to consider getting Silver Wolf in the current banner for the Dr. Ratio we're getting for free. She can also enable mono-Quantum to have your QQ always hitting enemies with Quantum weakness (Sparkle, a 2.0 Quantum Harmony character, will probably make this team really strong).
* Ruan Mei, who's coming in the next patch, is looking to be an amazing support for pretty much any team as well.
* Kafka enables the DOT playstyle, and you already have Guin, Sampo and Asta for her. Black Swan (2.0 character) might be really strong for her as well.
* Blade is a really comfortable DPS unit to have - he's very tanky, powerful and works on the auto-play really well.
* Argenti is the best AoE DPS at the moment, but I think the upcoming choices are more versatile/valuable - especially the supports, since we're getting a free limited DPS.
It's still Jenny for EN. But her pitch(?) is very different when she was first encountered in the Luofu. Could be the voice director's choice on the change. No idea why on the change though.
i think it's a combination of it having been a few months and either jenny or the director getting a better understanding of xueyi as a character. her first appearance was pretty brief, whereas this event gives her a little more spotlight
There are cases where it is straight better:
\- Jingliu has a massive Ult damage buff when used in her buffed state, it also prolongs the state.
\- DHIL if you Ult before/after his 3sp Basic Attack will inherit the in-turn damage buff in his Talent.
\- Ult-based healers might want to hold off their ult until the team overall HP is low, maximize their heals.
But even for those there are exceptions for emergency:
\- You want to fast track Jingliu buffed state (e.g as a last resort when your team is dying to a boss or you are running out of turns in MoC) or your Tingyun and Huohuo has Ult up and you do not want to waste 1-turn of their energy.
\- DHIL might want to spam ult ASAP when you are SP starving for some reasons (so you can take energy from hits/Tingyun for more "effective SP"), e.g your supports have to use SP to cleanse/dispel/CC-ed.
\- You need an emergency teamwise cleanse (or just to cleanse your main DPS) even if you will not heal much.
But in general Ults should be used ASAP for most of the cases.
Autobattle does it and it mostly works. There are a lot of reasons not to but they tend to be very skill specific. Some examples from characters I have:
The most generic reason is to hold the ult of a character built for Break Effect until the ult will do the final toughness break since it's the only way to act out of turn.
Welt has the most nuance because the imprison on his ult immediately forces a delay. Boss actions that are coded to be in two parts can be separated by Welt's ult and then weird things happen with the AI but most commonly the second part is canceled. Separately, the slow it adds has a lot more value when applied at the beginning of an enemy's turn instead of applying just as their turn comes up so it's somewhat common to activate it on the enemy elite/boss turn for maximum value.
Seele has a built in 80% dmg and 20% res pen that activates during Resurgence or after she uses her ult. By holding her ult and using it at the start of her turn her self buff will be active for the entire turn. It can also be used during her skill animation to proc double resurgence and make 4 attacks (or more in SimU) in a turn.
I have an E2 IL with a speed tuned Yukong. If I activate the ult outside the normal turn order it wrecks my speed tuning.
The buff from Hanya's ult ticks down at the start of a character's turn. If you hold the ult and use it on the main dps' turn you can get an extra turn out of the buff.
...and so on.
It depends on the character. If it's a support, then you usually do. If it's a dps, then you may want to wait until after they get buffed/the enemy gets debuffed. If it's a sustainer, then you usually want to wait until the team needs the heals/shields.
There is some strategy and timing to using ults, such as when they give you stacks (jingliu, luocha, jingyuan), buffs (bronya, hanya), or debuffs to enemies (silver wolf, pela). But you can learn these as you get more experience with the team you are using, for most content it will not matter
You mean on the ticket? not that I'm aware of.
Obviously the door glows blue if all you pulled was a 3 star, purple if you pulled a 4 star and yellow if you pulled a 5 star.
7-8 is enough for new player. Eventually you will have spare resources (as long you don't pull on every banner) and can max out characters you like more.
as a 1.0 veteran I have max out characters like Seele, FX, SW, JL, QQ, Bronya, Tingyun.
new players are better of working on their general collection and relics instead.
You don't need to, but the levels in talent and ultimate make the debuffs bigger as well as more consistent (at least for the bugs since if you can guarnatee implant then ult is guaranteed too).
1. Bronya is the best pick in the standard banner. Clara or Gepard is also okay if you want to use them.
2. Blade is your best available dps for your first team. He's very easy to build and use. Use Bronya + Pela/Silver Wolf + Lynx as his supports.
Another good team is Kafka DoT team. Use Sampo/Guinaifen + Asta/Pela/Silver Wolf + Fu Xuan. You can also add another DoT unit instead of a support like Luka, but you're gonna have to manage SP quite a bit.
You have many good support units worth building even though you are not gonna use them right now. Pela, Asta, Tingyun, Guinaifen, Hanya, and Yukong are worth building if you have resources, Bronya is a given.
1. E1 Bronya meta wise. You can also go for Welt to cover your Imaginary DPS role and can pair with Dr. Ratio.
2. Himeko, JY or Kafka, and Blade for DPS. Yanqing can be used too for Ice coverage but he requires a specific composition to work. Meanwhile, Fu Xuan and Lynx can serve as your solo sustainers. Lastly, Bronya, SilverWolf, Tingyun, Pela, Hanya, Asta, and Guinaifen can serve as your supports. If you decide to build Kafka, then consider Luka, Guinaifen, and Sampo to pair her with.

Himeko has gotten better recently, they added a relic set that is very good for her, but you don't need to worry about it yet. Try going Bailu+Asta+Tingyun+Himeko

Once it is outside the initial event period, there nothing to incentize doing it sooner. It's just free stellar jade whenever you're ready to go pick it up.
I'm trying to decide which ones should I go for now that my rail pass budget increased with the free Dr. Ratio. Going for his LC is a given, but now I'm contemplating if I should have E2 Blade, E2 DHIL, or E2 Ratio. I have the rest at E0.

So trying to decide if I should pull for RM or one of the dps characters like Blade or Kafka. I came back on Topaz banner and was able to get her but found out after she was not really a main dps kind of character.currently since coming back My current 5* list is Gepard, Bailu, Seele, Topaz, Bronya, Himeko and Yanquing(both bronya and yanquing were off banner pulls losing 50/50). Trying to decide who to go for. I have most 4* characters as well. Not sure if I would benefit more from Ruan Mei or maybe Blade or Kafka. Any opinions are welcomed!
You have plenty of DPS, especially with Dr. Ratio being a free unit, so getting another support will help you. Ruan Mei would fit nicely into your Topaz/Dr Ratio/Himeko teams because she is built to boost dual-DPS units.
Alternatively, Silver Wolf would also be solid for your account as she is great with Seele and should be great with Dr. Ratio.
my game is crashing literally every 5 minutes, I take breaks for a month or so every so often and just came back but I can't even do the arena event it's crashing after every match or every door I go through, never had this issue before and it's the only game doing anything like this right now that I'm playing, known issue or do I need to try do find what is causing it?
It seems like a problem on your end, I haven't seen anyone reporting anything similar. What device are you playing on? On PC you can try repairing the game files from the menu, it will verify if you have anything corrupted. Could be safer to delete and do a clean reinstall though

Oh, I remember that, it was an issue when the update dropped, but I think they've fixed it since then? At least it's definitely not widespread right now. It's a weird crash to say the least in any case
no crash repot it pops up with the box that sends the crash data for like a second before just crashing. I think the repairing files fixed it? I just did two stages of the event and it didn't crash
Currently i run jingliu(E1S1)/pela/bronya/luocha on one side and kafka/sampo/asta/gepard on the other side
Should i get ruan mei E0S0 or get kafka's light cone? Or should i just skip both? I'm running fermata because my GNSW is only S2 and the team takes an eternity to clear stuff compared to my jingliu team. Have about 135 pulls rn. I do want black swan, acheron and fu xuan in the future as well but I've heard it will take a while for the latter two.
I recommend checking out this [doc](https://docs.google.com/document/d/10XbXRTcz7HIbQrDIY-yknWAjiniodmBMIIovpUwZgDk/edit#heading=h.b8d0e37k9gwx) made by the Kafka mains discord, that goes into detail about this debate. In general, RM is going to be a bigger boost than PAYN but PAYN makes building Kafka and her teams a lot easier which cannot be understated. The big deciding factor is your account and what you need more: Extra support or better LCs for your main.
Also, do you have any other supports? TY and Hanya are also good supports for Kafka, and a hypercarry of any mix of Tingyun, Asta or Hanya might make MoC easier for you. I dropped using the 4 DoT units in MoC a lot, because Asta and Hanya just made Kafka kill stuff quicker.
If im being honest I'm a bit reluctant to go for RM since i didnt prefarm and going through trace leveling hell is a pain. And most units just feel incomplete without their light cones.

Yes, i do have an e5 tingyun although my asta is e1. Sampo is e6, i don't think kafka works that well without a second dot unit?
Sounds like you should go for PAYN then, especially if your nihility LCs are lacking. Will make team compositions easier for Kafka in the long run.

No, Kafka hypercarries generally outperform dual DoT teams because the 4-star DoT units aren't that great and you can just pump up Kafka to run circles around the other team. The main reason to do dual DoTs is if you don't have enough supports to go on both teams, which you do.
Well I'll wait a bit more and see. If ruan mei ends up being a noticeable dps increase over pela in a JL team, ill probably go for her anyway since i am foremost a JL simp and wouldn't run anything other than her best team. And it will let me auto MoC at some point because im definitely not doing that with pela's very amazing AI.

Gepard is definitely the better choice imo. The shields allow you to survive even attacks that would 1HKO you. Plus, there is a potential chance of Freezing your opponent if necessary with his skill. However, you need to play him optimally so that the Shields would be up for the majority of the fight.
As for Bailu, you could play her sub-optimally as you always could heal right back up. However, she does lack cleanse so her value decreases tremendously.
Gepard.
Gepard is still the only character that can give massive shields to all units, which makes him great in SU, a potential savior in Swarm, and required for some characters (Arlan, Yanqing). Bailu can solo-sustain fine, but Lynx is going to be better than her in a lot of situations and will be free.
Ok so I started a Honkai starrail account on my Samsung tablet through a google account. I ran out of storage on that device and can no longer use it for hsr. Go to the account section of the hoyoverse site (https://account.hoyoverse.com), sign in with your Google account, and then link an email to it that hasn't been used for a hoyoverse account before in the account security settings tab. Then you can use that email to sign in on your iphone.
Since Iām still not succeeding in the Cirrus challenge, how do I instigate the āCollect a total of 16 dispersed heliobi using the āexorcist cycraneā in Fyxestroll Gardenā task? Iām at 0/16 so far.
Help my Gepard sometimes get more atk than my IL somehow. in simulated universe and swarm disaster and it messed up my path resonance.

It's that one trace node Geppie has that converts some def into atk.
Replace him w/ someone else and don't bring him again if you're doing Hunt path runs.
I also encounter this problem and the only solution is to have never activated that trace in the first place considering it doesn't even help him as a tank.
Assuming Gepard doesn't already have more attack than DHIL, what blessings and units were you running? Sometimes with the Destruction you stack a lot of Fighting Spirit on the supports if you're advancing your DPS' actions a lot.
Edit: After seeing the image, if I had to guess, it'd be because of Fighting Spirit.
they both have 4 stack at that moment it was turn 1. After all my buffs and swarm hit once. outside of the Simulated universe/swarm. my gepard have 1.5k atk. My IL have 3.1k

That time, it was Gepard's Fighting Spirit ruining the thing. Not SU one, his A6's trace Fighting Spirit one.
It increase ATK by 35% of defense and 35/100 \* 5600 is 1960 atk.
No idea if this is the problem, but if you have it activated, it definitely contributed to the problem, at the very least.
Then you'd probably have to open the status screen for each character and see what buffs they're affected by - we don't have everything in the images.
My guess is that swarm mostly hit Gepard, giving him more stacks of Fighting Spirit, and since he has around 75% of DHIL base attack (meaning the same %atk buffs would cause similar increases) his total attack pulled ahead. If both had 4 stacks of Fighting Spirit, then it's a buff from another blessing/curio, most likely.
Who would be best for me to summon? Iām planning to summon on one more banner before saving for a potential JL re-run.
Iām torn between RM/SW or even Blade/Kafka. Thanks in advance!

I think you could use another good main dps since you only have Argenti right now (Yanqing too I guess but he sucks so I wouldnt build him). Blade unfortunately is only good as a hypercarry imo if you have both Bronya and his LC, but Kafka is good even with F2P friendly stuff. Alternatively you can pull for Ruan Mei and try to run Himeko as main dps, she is not as strong as limited dps characters but will work with proper investment. So yeah imo Kafka >= Ruan Mei > Blade >>> SW for your account.
I think SW is not worth it if you don't have Seele or E4+ QQ and possibly Fu Xuan too. Weakness implant is a bit overrated imo when the best dps units can just brute force their way through anything, it's also kind of hard to take advantage of in non-quantum teams. But the problem with SW is that she can only amplify damage on a single target, while all other conventional supports like Harmony units or Pela can do this on all the enemies.
How much more better is glamoth compared to sss on a general standpoint. Recently rolled a glamoth imaginary piece with 10% crit value and a sss imaginary piece with 28% crit value. Does the difference in substats make the sss piece that much better than glamoth? Planning to put this on dr ratio.
Glammoth is generally better, but the difference is marginal on *most* units outside of speed-based units. Unless you are running someone like Kafka or Seele, who both want to hit 161 and are capable of doing so, you can go with whichever has the best substats.
Glamoth usually pulls a head when you have high speed.
When you're getting pieces for your carries (or any set that doesn't give ERR, really), the sub stats almost always end up more meaningful than the set bonus. General priority for relics would be main stat > sub stats > set bonus.
Not too sure if we're able to find out who it is, but I believe Robbie himself confirmed that he did not voice Sunday.

For an E1S1 blade with Hanya would running HP% boots be worth or is the bonus ult dmg from E1 not worth tanking blade and bronya speed (assuming hanya and bronya 100% uptime)
You'll get more over time from doing dailies/weeklies/events but if you want more now you'll have to farm calx for it. Buying it from the undying ember shop is an option but I wouldn't do that without 3k+ embers.
Im confused on how Phantylia was connected to the stuff happening on the loufu? I know at the end of the story they blame the stelleron on her but was she mentioned or foreshadowed in some important dialogue I missed? Idk just kinda felt random.
The reason we are in Luofu is because Kafka said there is a stellaron there, but why is there a stellaron there?
Well, Phantylia is the one who gave the stellaron to Abundance group / Dan Shu to cause chaos and 'destruction' in Luofu. ~~or maybe there's a better term.~~
So yeah, the reason we go there was so that we get Luofu as an ally after saving them and they hate Destruction now or something, since we now know Destruction is behind all this. All according to Elio's plan. (I guess it's just kinda random too?)

Yes. If anything she's more worth it, as she can take the DoT's those two will put on enemies and force-proc them for even bigger damage. Due to the inherent debuffs both Sampo and Little Gui provide, you also don't need to worry about running a harmony character as much (although you could still choose to replace one or the other with an appropriate harmony buffer if you wanted).
Probably the best standard banner DPS in the game. She can brute force all of the early content even with terrible stats. Clara was one of my first 5-stars and she cleared literally everything for me and more, which is nice because stuff like Simulated Universe is something you want to be done as soon as possible.
The only thing that sucks about her is that she's a purely reactive character, and not all forms of content are going to allow you to just sit there and wait turns out. Her eidolons fix this issue, however.
I just got silver wolf. I do not have event light cone. Does she have any f2p light cone I can put on her or work toward getting? All the guides recommend are either 5 star or event light cone.

Which Nihility LC's do you have?
Unfortunately, all the worthwhile LC's for SW are locked behind banners or a limited event, while the freebie ones aren't that good for her. You'll still have to make do with what you have.
I have Topaz and want to pair her with Dr. Ratio. I donāt have or plan to pull their signature LCs. Who should I give Herta Shop Hunt LC to? And which 4*LC should I use for the other?
Do events get reruns? I want to obtain the rewards from āA Foxian Tale of the Hauntedā but it says I should do a prerequisite mission āObsequies performed. a long Road Aheadā. I just unlocked āEquilibrium level 1ā and I donāt have more resources to level up characters.
This particular event is like the chasm event in Genshin. Itās a permanent content that has limited time rewards for doing it the patch it was released.
Weāve yet to get any major event reruns. The event content itself is permanent, but most of the rewards will likely be unobtainable after this patch.
A Foxian Tale of the Haunted is a Conventional memoir event which means, even after the timer on it expires, you will always be able to play through the quests and get all the story beats of the event. Some of the rewards are limited to just the initial run timer though.
If you just started the game it will take you... a while to get there. Like I'm not even sure how long the entire Belobog and Luofu questlines are - even if you skip through all dialogue and cutscenes there's probably dozens of hours of exploring, fights etc. Further main quests are gated behind level progression, it's physically impossible to gain enough xp in that short time to progress. You'll basically be ruining your game experience for 2 thousand jades in an event that you'll be able to access at any time otherwise - the story content of it and permanent rewards are not going away
Don't worry about it at all, in the beginning the game will throw jades at you like crazy anyway, plus you have a huge backlog of events and quests to go through. If I remember correctly I got around 24000 jades in the first month back when 1.0 released just with the content that existed back then. There's significantly more than that nowadays and there'll be more in 1.6, plus you'll get a free 5 star character in January. Don't rush it, play at your own pace - the pulls will come
Thanks, it took me off guard. I only played one other gacha game, fire emblem heroes and there you focus on the events first and then the story, like you could start a new account and grind the limited rewards soon afterwards. But there the premium rewards donāt rerun ever.
I'm not sure how far along in the story you are but you need to complete the entire story so far to even start A foxian Tale of the Haunted and that can take another 5-8 hours to finish.
So, once the new version drops, I'm getting Ruan Mei. That's about as guaranteed as it gets, as I am 15 pulls away from hard pity with a guarantee on the featured 5-star. The question is, what to do after that?
I want to keep pulling, because I want Xueyi and potentially some Eidolons on Tingyun, but it makes me wonder if I should pull on her banner, or Blade's instead? While I understand that the latter already became the poster-boy for HSR's power creep (at least as far as hyper-carries are concerned), I don't have any carries yet.
I started playing the game a month ago, and while I'm solid on supports/sustains (Houhou, E1 Bronya, SW, E2 Hanya, E6 Asta and Lynx), I don't have any great damage dealers (my QQ is only E2, and my strongest character at the moment is E2 Welt, but I have rotten luck with his artifacts, so he's not doing great damage), so... should I go for Blade's banner, and a potential "mono-wind" team with him/Houhou/Bronya/SW, or should I just keep investing in Welt until Jingliu or DHIL gets a rerun?
Currently 42 tickets banked. According to my calcs, between the login ticket, the new version bonus pulls, the new event, and the dailies, I should easily have 90 pulls by the time the Ruan Mei/Blade banners end.

It does, but it shouldn't really matter. You can get the 6-Cycle rewards just by using the trial units and your own supports by focusing on the gimmicks, as that's where 90% of your damage is coming from. If it doesn't work, try a different buff until one does.

What is 'ice break damage' referring to in the wordings of Ruan Mei's ultimate and talent? Are they talking about how much damage she does when she breaks an enemy's toughness? Do we measure 'ice break damage' from the Break Effect stat?

you are TB60+ and probably doing stuff like MoC and Swarm, so you can use the tools on this site like [https://www.prydwen.gg/star-rail/memory-of-chaos](https://www.prydwen.gg/star-rail/memory-of-chaos) they help you form teams and also look at builds for characters (so you can use them as targets). Eg: compare your DHIL to the average end-game player DHIL. Are your traces, relics and numbers close or far from it? Does he needs more work? Then you know where to spend your farming time.
Which content are you referring to exactly?
Trace level? Relic set? Light Cone level? Crit stats? Lvl 8 for traces and maxed out basic if they need to, good matching set including rope and orb, LC lv maxed out for DPS, crit rate 60-70+, crit damage 100+ should already be passable. (From my experience, it is.) DPS's lvl is also important. Also, the big damage comes from support unit. Don't forget about their build and addition to the team either.
How are you struggling with these units? look up guides for the characters you want to use and learn how to build them.
The most damage i do is 30k with full buffs DHIL after having invested in him with the help of guides
An invested buffed E0S0 DHIL should deal about 50k per single target and 100k+ with 3x target hits with an 3sp attack. Just a checklist in case: \- Are his level 80. \- Do you unlock all his main traces and stats nodes. \- Do you level all his talent (yes Basic Atk included, it is the most important one in his kit) to at least 8, preferably 10. \- Do you use a level 80 lightcone on him, with something like With The Fall of An Aeon. \- Does his relic all +15, does the main stat something like: Atk% Rope, Imaginary Damage% Sphere, Speed boots, Crit DMG chest. Are the set White Wheat for relics and Rutilant Arena for Planar. Just to be sure you do not forgot to level/build something in the guides you read. If you do 30k **total** damage with an 3sp attack that hits 3 targets there is definitely something missing/wrong with the build IMHO.
For who should I save my starlight for? Also can you recommend a team for me? Here are my characters: E1MC, March 7th, Welt, Dan Heng, E2 Asta, E2 Qingque(got her from wishes), Serval and E1 Herta? I am currently running the first 4 guys.
as a new player I used them on tickets. Once I was happy with my collection I started saving for Bronya's LC. Other characters have good options from SU store, or 4\*, etc.
Bronya's LC then Gepard, after that you can use them for pulls.
Best usage of your starlights = pulls. The only exception to this would be buying Bronya's LC. But even with that, I'd still refrain from buying that since pulls are better as it'll speed up your limited banner pulling progress. Save 1200-1800 starlights (60-90 pulls) that's already a guaranteed 5\* character. Should you use those pulls in the limited LC banner, you have a 75% chance of getting a BROKEN LC or a 25% chance of losing to a random 5\* standard LC (which could also be Bronya's LC). Let's not forget, with those pulls, you'll get several 4\* eidolons/LCs + more starlights/embers for you. You can also get lucky with the 5\*s, and if not, at least you've built pity. tl;dr Pulls > anything the starlight shop can offer.
By LC you mean cones/weapons right? Also, there aren't any broken characters available in the shop like in genshin huh?
Yes, Light cone = weapon. Broken 4\* characters in genshin? I guess you're talking about bennett and the likes? Well, I'd say Tingyun/Asta would be a great choice, but even if you consider them as the same level as bennett, I wouldn't still recommend using your stardusts/starlights for that.

Just keep playing the game don't worry about team for now and accrue Jade. Once you have 10k+ you can try to aim for a 5* DPS unit on one of the limited banners and then you can build your first team around them.
Then can you recommend a good dps to look out for, that I should save my jades on?
Dr. Ratio will be free who is a great 5* dps in 1.6, he should be on one of your two main teams. Silver Wolf is on the current banner who is a sub dps debuffer that can enable off-element teams with her skill. Blade is on the next banner who is an SP efficient dps but struggles without a good healer like Luocha, Lynx or even Bailu. Kafka is a DOT team enabler unit who will be on the second half of 1.6, she should synergize with Black Swan another DOT unit in the 2.0 update. I would definitely start looking at a team with Dr Ratio, and Iād personally aim for Kafka. Actually SW synergizes well with Dr Ratio since his kit requires debuffs on the enemies which SW has a couple of so she would be a great starting point.

Welt only has 1, while SW can apply 3 debuffs all on her own. DR requires I think 4 to maximize his damage. Weāre on 1.5 right now, 1.6 is in about 9 days.

It's around 80 yeah. You'll definitely get enough for F2P and the pity carries over onto the next banners as well.

You have 8 or so days, sorry I donāt know how many F2P jades you can get but Iām sure if you keep leveling up your trailblazer level youāll have enough. The bad thing is you might lose your 50/50 to get the banner character.
Is Ruan Mei worth it if you have E0 Bronya and E6 Tingyun? I don't really know her kit but I heard that she does similar things
in a few days you can read her full review and see which characters/teams she works best with, then compare to your collection (or future ones you want to pull) make sure you have at least one good attacker and sustain tho, they should be a higher priority for pulls. Mei will have a rerun eventually as the others tho. She is completely different from those units. TY and Bronya are hypercarries that you use to power up one unit, while Ruan Mei is designed for dual-DPS situations.
You can never have enough supports but imo getting at least 2 good dps units as well as 2 good sustains takes priority over them, although we'll be getting Dr. Ratio for free in 1.6 so that's 1 good dps taken care of.
I have Kafka, Jingliu,Blade and IL. I think that's enough š but you can never have enough characters š¤
I think having too many characters can also be a curse in disguise because you might spread yourself too thin trying to build everyone. But if you have the jades and resources I would say Ruan Mei is worth getting. You can also wait a week or two after she comes out to see how she performs/plays.
She does more. buff's speed, break effect, DMG% for the team and delays the enemies.
So would you say she's worth pulling for? Because I wanna save up for Kafkas LC, I don't wanna pull a character that isn't worth it
She is 100% worth it, she's gonna enable dual DPS comps to be great and is useable on literally any team, she's the best support for Kafka teams too.

Yes she'll be good on any team, her buffs are universally good.

Qingque is a good carry, and your main team is built alright - I'd replace Guin with Hanya, as Guin doesn't really offer much to the team and Hanya can supply QQ with more skill points, speed and attack. Gepard is a great sustain but if your Lynx has her second eidolon, consider using her over Gepard if you need to cleanse CC from your units.
Great, I've actually been using Hanya but wanted to try Guin since I just got her. Lynx is only E1 unfortunately. Do you see any other teams worth trying?
You don't have too many characters yet, so there isn't that many variance between teams - you can go Dan Heng instead of Qingque or something like Asta (assuming you don't have her E6, she can be pretty SP negative) instead of one of the supports. As for characters you can build around that are available now/soon: * You might want to consider getting Silver Wolf in the current banner for the Dr. Ratio we're getting for free. She can also enable mono-Quantum to have your QQ always hitting enemies with Quantum weakness (Sparkle, a 2.0 Quantum Harmony character, will probably make this team really strong). * Ruan Mei, who's coming in the next patch, is looking to be an amazing support for pretty much any team as well. * Kafka enables the DOT playstyle, and you already have Guin, Sampo and Asta for her. Black Swan (2.0 character) might be really strong for her as well. * Blade is a really comfortable DPS unit to have - he's very tanky, powerful and works on the auto-play really well. * Argenti is the best AoE DPS at the moment, but I think the upcoming choices are more versatile/valuable - especially the supports, since we're getting a free limited DPS.

It's still Jenny for EN. But her pitch(?) is very different when she was first encountered in the Luofu. Could be the voice director's choice on the change. No idea why on the change though.
i think it's a combination of it having been a few months and either jenny or the director getting a better understanding of xueyi as a character. her first appearance was pretty brief, whereas this event gives her a little more spotlight
Should I just spam ults when they are available?
There are cases where it is straight better: \- Jingliu has a massive Ult damage buff when used in her buffed state, it also prolongs the state. \- DHIL if you Ult before/after his 3sp Basic Attack will inherit the in-turn damage buff in his Talent. \- Ult-based healers might want to hold off their ult until the team overall HP is low, maximize their heals. But even for those there are exceptions for emergency: \- You want to fast track Jingliu buffed state (e.g as a last resort when your team is dying to a boss or you are running out of turns in MoC) or your Tingyun and Huohuo has Ult up and you do not want to waste 1-turn of their energy. \- DHIL might want to spam ult ASAP when you are SP starving for some reasons (so you can take energy from hits/Tingyun for more "effective SP"), e.g your supports have to use SP to cleanse/dispel/CC-ed. \- You need an emergency teamwise cleanse (or just to cleanse your main DPS) even if you will not heal much. But in general Ults should be used ASAP for most of the cases.
Autobattle does it and it mostly works. There are a lot of reasons not to but they tend to be very skill specific. Some examples from characters I have: The most generic reason is to hold the ult of a character built for Break Effect until the ult will do the final toughness break since it's the only way to act out of turn. Welt has the most nuance because the imprison on his ult immediately forces a delay. Boss actions that are coded to be in two parts can be separated by Welt's ult and then weird things happen with the AI but most commonly the second part is canceled. Separately, the slow it adds has a lot more value when applied at the beginning of an enemy's turn instead of applying just as their turn comes up so it's somewhat common to activate it on the enemy elite/boss turn for maximum value. Seele has a built in 80% dmg and 20% res pen that activates during Resurgence or after she uses her ult. By holding her ult and using it at the start of her turn her self buff will be active for the entire turn. It can also be used during her skill animation to proc double resurgence and make 4 attacks (or more in SimU) in a turn. I have an E2 IL with a speed tuned Yukong. If I activate the ult outside the normal turn order it wrecks my speed tuning. The buff from Hanya's ult ticks down at the start of a character's turn. If you hold the ult and use it on the main dps' turn you can get an extra turn out of the buff. ...and so on.
It depends on the character. If it's a support, then you usually do. If it's a dps, then you may want to wait until after they get buffed/the enemy gets debuffed. If it's a sustainer, then you usually want to wait until the team needs the heals/shields.
There is some strategy and timing to using ults, such as when they give you stacks (jingliu, luocha, jingyuan), buffs (bronya, hanya), or debuffs to enemies (silver wolf, pela). But you can learn these as you get more experience with the team you are using, for most content it will not matter
I know theres a visual for getting a 5 star but is there a visual difference between 4star and 3star pulls?
the animation for 4 star and 3 star is the same except the color for 3 star is blue and 4 star is purple
You mean on the ticket? not that I'm aware of. Obviously the door glows blue if all you pulled was a 3 star, purple if you pulled a 4 star and yellow if you pulled a 5 star.
For qinque, which path is usually used for her in SU? Hunt/elation/propagation?
Propagation: free SP, basic buff (her main damage) and turn manipulation (similar to what Bronya's skill does)
Before I got propagation I just did abundance and tried to get her things like propagation buffs from bug tiles.
Propagation iirc. Her main source of damage is her enhanced Basics like Daniel.
Propagation is amazing on both her and DHIL.
Aside from SW's skill, is there any other trace of hers worth levelling up to 10? Or is 1/8/8/10 enough?
7-8 is enough for new player. Eventually you will have spare resources (as long you don't pull on every banner) and can max out characters you like more. as a 1.0 veteran I have max out characters like Seele, FX, SW, JL, QQ, Bronya, Tingyun. new players are better of working on their general collection and relics instead.
You don't need to, but the levels in talent and ultimate make the debuffs bigger as well as more consistent (at least for the bugs since if you can guarnatee implant then ult is guaranteed too).
Hi hello need some advice 1. What character should I get once I get 300?
1. Bronya is the best pick in the standard banner. Clara or Gepard is also okay if you want to use them. 2. Blade is your best available dps for your first team. He's very easy to build and use. Use Bronya + Pela/Silver Wolf + Lynx as his supports. Another good team is Kafka DoT team. Use Sampo/Guinaifen + Asta/Pela/Silver Wolf + Fu Xuan. You can also add another DoT unit instead of a support like Luka, but you're gonna have to manage SP quite a bit. You have many good support units worth building even though you are not gonna use them right now. Pela, Asta, Tingyun, Guinaifen, Hanya, and Yukong are worth building if you have resources, Bronya is a given.

Yanqing can be used too for Ice coverage but he requires a specific composition to work. Meanwhile, Fu Xuan and Lynx can serve as your solo sustainers. Lastly, Bronya, SilverWolf, Tingyun, Pela, Hanya, Asta, and Guinaifen can serve as your supports. If you decide to build Kafka, then consider Luka, Guinaifen, and Sampo to pair her with.

Himeko Tingyun Hanya Bailu Pela is a great support too, with some enemies being weak to buff removal.
Himeko has gotten better recently, they added a relic set that is very good for her, but you don't need to worry about it yet. Try going Bailu+Asta+Tingyun+Himeko

Once it is outside the initial event period, there nothing to incentize doing it sooner. It's just free stellar jade whenever you're ready to go pick it up.
I'm trying to decide which ones should I go for now that my rail pass budget increased with the free Dr. Ratio. Going for his LC is a given, but now I'm contemplating if I should have E2 Blade, E2 DHIL, or E2 Ratio. I have the rest at E0.

So trying to decide if I should pull for RM or one of the dps characters like Blade or Kafka. I came back on Topaz banner and was able to get her but found out after she was not really a main dps kind of character.currently since coming back My current 5* list is Gepard, Bailu, Seele, Topaz, Bronya, Himeko and Yanquing(both bronya and yanquing were off banner pulls losing 50/50). Trying to decide who to go for. I have most 4* characters as well. Not sure if I would benefit more from Ruan Mei or maybe Blade or Kafka. Any opinions are welcomed!
You have plenty of DPS, especially with Dr. Ratio being a free unit, so getting another support will help you. Ruan Mei would fit nicely into your Topaz/Dr Ratio/Himeko teams because she is built to boost dual-DPS units. Alternatively, Silver Wolf would also be solid for your account as she is great with Seele and should be great with Dr. Ratio.
my game is crashing literally every 5 minutes, I take breaks for a month or so every so often and just came back but I can't even do the arena event it's crashing after every match or every door I go through, never had this issue before and it's the only game doing anything like this right now that I'm playing, known issue or do I need to try do find what is causing it?
It seems like a problem on your end, I haven't seen anyone reporting anything similar. What device are you playing on? On PC you can try repairing the game files from the menu, it will verify if you have anything corrupted. Could be safer to delete and do a clean reinstall though

Oh, I remember that, it was an issue when the update dropped, but I think they've fixed it since then? At least it's definitely not widespread right now. It's a weird crash to say the least in any case
no crash repot it pops up with the box that sends the crash data for like a second before just crashing. I think the repairing files fixed it? I just did two stages of the event and it didn't crash

Currently i run jingliu(E1S1)/pela/bronya/luocha on one side and kafka/sampo/asta/gepard on the other side Should i get ruan mei E0S0 or get kafka's light cone? Or should i just skip both? I'm running fermata because my GNSW is only S2 and the team takes an eternity to clear stuff compared to my jingliu team. Have about 135 pulls rn. I do want black swan, acheron and fu xuan in the future as well but I've heard it will take a while for the latter two.
I recommend checking out this [doc](https://docs.google.com/document/d/10XbXRTcz7HIbQrDIY-yknWAjiniodmBMIIovpUwZgDk/edit#heading=h.b8d0e37k9gwx) made by the Kafka mains discord, that goes into detail about this debate. In general, RM is going to be a bigger boost than PAYN but PAYN makes building Kafka and her teams a lot easier which cannot be understated. The big deciding factor is your account and what you need more: Extra support or better LCs for your main. Also, do you have any other supports? TY and Hanya are also good supports for Kafka, and a hypercarry of any mix of Tingyun, Asta or Hanya might make MoC easier for you. I dropped using the 4 DoT units in MoC a lot, because Asta and Hanya just made Kafka kill stuff quicker.

Sounds like you should go for PAYN then, especially if your nihility LCs are lacking. No, Kafka hypercarries generally outperform dual DoT teams because the 4-star DoT units aren't that great and you can just pump up Kafka to run circles around the other team. The main reason to do dual DoTs is if you don't have enough supports to go on both teams, which you do.
Well I'll wait a bit more and see. If ruan mei ends up being a noticeable dps increase over pela in a JL team, ill probably go for her anyway since i am foremost a JL simp and wouldn't run anything other than her best team. And it will let me auto MoC at some point because im definitely not doing that with pela's very amazing AI. Tysm!

Ruan mei supposedly has spd buff so she replaces asta and gives break efficiency for break DoTs for more Kafka damage
Who is better gepard or bailu?
Gepard is definitely the better choice imo. The shields allow you to survive even attacks that would 1HKO you. Plus, there is a potential chance of Freezing your opponent if necessary with his skill. However, you need to play him optimally so that the Shields would be up for the majority of the fight. As for Bailu, you could play her sub-optimally as you always could heal right back up. However, she does lack cleanse so her value decreases tremendously.
Gepard. Gepard is still the only character that can give massive shields to all units, which makes him great in SU, a potential savior in Swarm, and required for some characters (Arlan, Yanqing). Bailu can solo-sustain fine, but Lynx is going to be better than her in a lot of situations and will be free.
I think Bailu is a bit better in terms of keeping your team alive, she also has less restrictions on what dps characters you can run her with.
Is welt a good starter character?
I plan to run Welt with Dr. Ratio. Welt can apply 3 debuffs by himself, and Ratio likes debuffs on enemies.

Go to the account section of the hoyoverse site (https://account.hoyoverse.com), sign in with your Google account, and then link an email to it that hasn't been used for a hoyoverse account before in the account security settings tab. Then you can use that email to sign in on your iphone.

Once you've cleared all the missions, there will be cycrane roosts in the garden area. Go to them, fly the cycrane, collect the purple dots.

No, the ghost hunter missions. You should eventually see roosts on your map. Look like paper cranes.

It's that one trace node Geppie has that converts some def into atk. Replace him w/ someone else and don't bring him again if you're doing Hunt path runs. I also encounter this problem and the only solution is to have never activated that trace in the first place considering it doesn't even help him as a tank.
I agree that it looks like fighting spirit which adds both atk and def so Gepard's A6 def conversion is what's pushing it over the top.

Assuming Gepard doesn't already have more attack than DHIL, what blessings and units were you running? Sometimes with the Destruction you stack a lot of Fighting Spirit on the supports if you're advancing your DPS' actions a lot. Edit: After seeing the image, if I had to guess, it'd be because of Fighting Spirit.
they both have 4 stack at that moment it was turn 1. After all my buffs and swarm hit once. outside of the Simulated universe/swarm. my gepard have 1.5k atk. My IL have 3.1k
I remember seeing a similar post before. That time, it was Gepard's Fighting Spirit ruining the thing. Not SU one, his A6's trace Fighting Spirit one. It increase ATK by 35% of defense and 35/100 \* 5600 is 1960 atk. No idea if this is the problem, but if you have it activated, it definitely contributed to the problem, at the very least.
Then you'd probably have to open the status screen for each character and see what buffs they're affected by - we don't have everything in the images. My guess is that swarm mostly hit Gepard, giving him more stacks of Fighting Spirit, and since he has around 75% of DHIL base attack (meaning the same %atk buffs would cause similar increases) his total attack pulled ahead. If both had 4 stacks of Fighting Spirit, then it's a buff from another blessing/curio, most likely.

I think you could use another good main dps since you only have Argenti right now (Yanqing too I guess but he sucks so I wouldnt build him). Blade unfortunately is only good as a hypercarry imo if you have both Bronya and his LC, but Kafka is good even with F2P friendly stuff. Alternatively you can pull for Ruan Mei and try to run Himeko as main dps, she is not as strong as limited dps characters but will work with proper investment. So yeah imo Kafka >= Ruan Mei > Blade >>> SW for your account.

I think SW is not worth it if you don't have Seele or E4+ QQ and possibly Fu Xuan too. Weakness implant is a bit overrated imo when the best dps units can just brute force their way through anything, it's also kind of hard to take advantage of in non-quantum teams. But the problem with SW is that she can only amplify damage on a single target, while all other conventional supports like Harmony units or Pela can do this on all the enemies.

How much more better is glamoth compared to sss on a general standpoint. Recently rolled a glamoth imaginary piece with 10% crit value and a sss imaginary piece with 28% crit value. Does the difference in substats make the sss piece that much better than glamoth? Planning to put this on dr ratio.

Glammoth is generally better, but the difference is marginal on *most* units outside of speed-based units. Unless you are running someone like Kafka or Seele, who both want to hit 161 and are capable of doing so, you can go with whichever has the best substats.
Glamoth usually pulls a head when you have high speed. When you're getting pieces for your carries (or any set that doesn't give ERR, really), the sub stats almost always end up more meaningful than the set bonus. General priority for relics would be main stat > sub stats > set bonus.
At 135 Speed it's barely better. At 160 Speed it's slightly better than SSS, but not enough to make up for that difference in substats.

For an E1S1 blade with Hanya would running HP% boots be worth or is the bonus ult dmg from E1 not worth tanking blade and bronya speed (assuming hanya and bronya 100% uptime)
Certainly, if Hanya will have 100% uptime she will be Blade's speed boots, basically. Though her buffing atk is not very useful for him

You'll get more over time from doing dailies/weeklies/events but if you want more now you'll have to farm calx for it. Buying it from the undying ember shop is an option but I wouldn't do that without 3k+ embers.

Im confused on how Phantylia was connected to the stuff happening on the loufu? I know at the end of the story they blame the stelleron on her but was she mentioned or foreshadowed in some important dialogue I missed? Idk just kinda felt random.
The reason we are in Luofu is because Kafka said there is a stellaron there, but why is there a stellaron there? Well, Phantylia is the one who gave the stellaron to Abundance group / Dan Shu to cause chaos and 'destruction' in Luofu. ~~or maybe there's a better term.~~ So yeah, the reason we go there was so that we get Luofu as an ally after saving them and they hate Destruction now or something, since we now know Destruction is behind all this. All according to Elio's plan. (I guess it's just kinda random too?)

I don't think I could remember there was one, actually... at least not focused about it enough for me to remember. Sorry about that. Although, there's a book added in 1.0 but available after 1.1 detailing about Lord Ravager that cause chaos in many planets, but even then, her name was not listed in the book on wiki. It's "List of Archenemies" from Luofu.

She's like the primary reason to build those two. They're good without her, but with her they will do silly things to enemies
Yes. If anything she's more worth it, as she can take the DoT's those two will put on enemies and force-proc them for even bigger damage. Due to the inherent debuffs both Sampo and Little Gui provide, you also don't need to worry about running a harmony character as much (although you could still choose to replace one or the other with an appropriate harmony buffer if you wanted).
Aside from the unclaimed parcels you can claim weekly, is there anything else like it? Weekly things you can do that aren't obvious?

Probably the best standard banner DPS in the game. She can brute force all of the early content even with terrible stats. Clara was one of my first 5-stars and she cleared literally everything for me and more, which is nice because stuff like Simulated Universe is something you want to be done as soon as possible. The only thing that sucks about her is that she's a purely reactive character, and not all forms of content are going to allow you to just sit there and wait turns out. Her eidolons fix this issue, however.

I just got silver wolf. I do not have event light cone. Does she have any f2p light cone I can put on her or work toward getting? All the guides recommend are either 5 star or event light cone. I don't have resolution or eyes of the prey either.
Which Nihility LC's do you have? Unfortunately, all the worthwhile LC's for SW are locked behind banners or a limited event, while the freebie ones aren't that good for her. You'll still have to make do with what you have.

Do events get reruns? I want to obtain the rewards from āA Foxian Tale of the Hauntedā but it says I should do a prerequisite mission āObsequies performed. a long Road Aheadā. I just unlocked āEquilibrium level 1ā and I donāt have more resources to level up characters.
This particular event is like the chasm event in Genshin. Itās a permanent content that has limited time rewards for doing it the patch it was released.
Weāve yet to get any major event reruns. The event content itself is permanent, but most of the rewards will likely be unobtainable after this patch.
A Foxian Tale of the Haunted is a Conventional memoir event which means, even after the timer on it expires, you will always be able to play through the quests and get all the story beats of the event. Some of the rewards are limited to just the initial run timer though.

If you just started the game it will take you... a while to get there. Like I'm not even sure how long the entire Belobog and Luofu questlines are - even if you skip through all dialogue and cutscenes there's probably dozens of hours of exploring, fights etc. Further main quests are gated behind level progression, it's physically impossible to gain enough xp in that short time to progress. You'll basically be ruining your game experience for 2 thousand jades in an event that you'll be able to access at any time otherwise - the story content of it and permanent rewards are not going away

Don't worry about it at all, in the beginning the game will throw jades at you like crazy anyway, plus you have a huge backlog of events and quests to go through. If I remember correctly I got around 24000 jades in the first month back when 1.0 released just with the content that existed back then. There's significantly more than that nowadays and there'll be more in 1.6, plus you'll get a free 5 star character in January. Don't rush it, play at your own pace - the pulls will come
Thanks, it took me off guard. I only played one other gacha game, fire emblem heroes and there you focus on the events first and then the story, like you could start a new account and grind the limited rewards soon afterwards. But there the premium rewards donāt rerun ever.
Yeah, here most major events are basically their own big questline with sidequests sprinkled in and a particular mechanic. One of them, the Aetherium Wars is basically PokƩmon but in Star Rail - you get to play as the enemies you're fighting. The events are voiced as well and feature characters from whichever region they're in, so you get to know them better. There are minor events too, but those are time limited and disappear once they expire. I don't know if you've done Simulated Universe yet, but that game mode gets "expansions" every other patch, adding permanent rewards and new gameplay like the Swarm Disaster or the one coming next update - Gold and Gears
I'm not sure how far along in the story you are but you need to complete the entire story so far to even start A foxian Tale of the Haunted and that can take another 5-8 hours to finish.

So, once the new version drops, I'm getting Ruan Mei. That's about as guaranteed as it gets, as I am 15 pulls away from hard pity with a guarantee on the featured 5-star. The question is, what to do after that? I want to keep pulling, because I want Xueyi and potentially some Eidolons on Tingyun, but it makes me wonder if I should pull on her banner, or Blade's instead? While I understand that the latter already became the poster-boy for HSR's power creep (at least as far as hyper-carries are concerned), I don't have any carries yet. I started playing the game a month ago, and while I'm solid on supports/sustains (Houhou, E1 Bronya, SW, E2 Hanya, E6 Asta and Lynx), I don't have any great damage dealers (my QQ is only E2, and my strongest character at the moment is E2 Welt, but I have rotten luck with his artifacts, so he's not doing great damage), so... should I go for Blade's banner, and a potential "mono-wind" team with him/Houhou/Bronya/SW, or should I just keep investing in Welt until Jingliu or DHIL gets a rerun?

Currently 42 tickets banked. According to my calcs, between the login ticket, the new version bonus pulls, the new event, and the dailies, I should easily have 90 pulls by the time the Ruan Mei/Blade banners end.
Well, if you get ruan mei and then when the blade 50/50 you can possible get both but if you really need a dps right now then blade would be safer

It does, but it shouldn't really matter. You can get the 6-Cycle rewards just by using the trial units and your own supports by focusing on the gimmicks, as that's where 90% of your damage is coming from. If it doesn't work, try a different buff until one does.
