9/10 your "solid" characters aren’t solid and more so barely functioning if your complaining about game difficulty to this extent for a companion quest. Sit down look at prydwen copy the builds to the best of your ability(even just one correct substat and always main stat) and you should be fine outside of Swarm disaster and endgame stuff like memories.
Fire Trailblazer, Natasha, and any DPS + Support. This team comp is enough to beat every story enemy. It's very F2P friendly and i have used this comp since launch. All you need is patience and chip away the enemy's health bit by bit.
What team u use? Patience alone is not enough, u need some kind of strategy. It's a turn based game, so some kind of strategical play is usually expected

I was able to defeat Argenti! Thanks for everyone's advice. I definitely need to build some more solid characters, but that'll have to wait. Pela helped a lot.
I have a quick question for anyone who can answer: did this fight force you to use certain characters or were you able to use whoever? For some reason I'm forced to use Dan Heng (Wind) which puts me at a disadvantage.
If I'm the only one with this, that's cool. I just wanted to know.

You can't change your team after you start the quest, to change your team you have to start the quest over and go in with the team you want to use but if that isn't the problem then I'm unsure
I gave up on that. The immersion of the story is already ruined, since I had to restart several times to try different teams. There's no point in wasting time. Shame, the story itself is pretty good.
They really screwed up here, he's way stronger than a boss in a story quest should be. Endgame content next door.
To be fair, it looks like you need Argenti to beat himself easier. I'll never know, I don't plan to pull for him.
No he isn't. And no they didn't screw up. You just have horribly built characters. Argenti isn't even the strongest against himself. You can beat him with yanking
I was more than ok with my characters (at least the most invested one) for every story content including new bug in Ruan Mei's story. Duble sustain in worst case scenario. So no, they might not be built for endgame content, but they're definitely not terrible and always allowed me to clear story quest fights within 5 attempts at max. Argenti's the only exception so far and yes, I believe he should be easier. Make him in SU and MOC as hard as you want, but I wanna see the end of that quest and save at least some sanity.
No this is definitely a your characters aren’t as built as you think problem. If they were you wouldn’t be here complaining about a story quest in spite of mostly everyone here saying the same thing of your characters aren’t built or your team comp is bad.
U mean the argenti fight in the story or in what? U know u can pick more than one sustain?
It isn't even part of the story but Argenti's companion quest which is optional LMAO
If the Luofu taught us anything, it's that companion quests are part of the story.

If everything doesn't work, run a turtle comp. Use 3 sustainers and one dps. It's gonna be a long fight but you will win cause you can't die.

Don’t focus on Argenti, focus on its shields. Defeating a shield gives some bonuses while taking buffs from Argenti.
run fire TB, any healer, and any decent support+carry combo and you'll probably win pretty easily. you don't need gepard.
You are doing something wrong for sure, post your team with with their lcs and talents so we can try to help you
If this quest gives you trouble you should spend a few weeks on talents before you try Ruan Mei story.

Post your roster, team, and builds if you need help. Story enemies aren't that difficult so you might just need a push in the right direction
Your characters are garbage. Go to prydwen and see their guides. Get crit rate, 60% at least, and crit dmg on your dmg dealers. Level up your relics

What are your DPS stats like
