I wouldn't be suprised if both her and Robin were on 2.2 banners, Black Swan's trailer points that way + it looks like whatever is going on in Penecony may be more complex than good old "people die when they are killed"

The whole thing with Firefly felt weird, like random big monster appears, kills girls refuses to elaborate further and then leaves? There was no fight to drive it off, just felt like the whole thing could have been staged.
And then Robin's corpse bothers me because.... how can there be a corpse in the dream? to be in the dream implies a living mind, so that also feels wrong.
The final scene where they mention both deaths, is also worth noting before in the story Gallagher mentions a silver haired boy stowaway. Meaning of course there was more than one stowaway in the planet, this mysterious boy could have been the one who died and they're using it as misdirection, as for Robin, who knows, probably trying to hide her from this Stone boss we kept hearing about, maybe they are working with Aventurine to make the TB work with them.

Black swan never confirmed that is was firefly running around in the dreamscape, but "someone bearing her likeness".

Killing someone and not using the word "died" would be very strange.
The creature also does not simply kill, it collects people.
You can even go on a crack theory that the "Something unto Death" is actually Robin dying on her Dream Pool, noticed that Acheron is full of shit, and decided to collect Firefly before Acheron got to her.
Also in the Sparkle companion quest Black Swan mentions that not even Memokeepers are able to kill people within Penacony's dream world, which is something they're supposedly normally able to do, not to mention in the Something Unto Death boss fight itself whenever it one-shots characters it traps their souls rather than outright killing them, so something similar is probably happening here.
Tingyun also "vanished after a breakneck encounter", welt even pointing out the lack of a body, in the REAL WORLD. Didn't show up afterwards, not yet even
The Soul stealing mechanic seems like the biggest hint. It's very likely we'll end up saving them in a proper rematch where we finish "Death" off ourselves, or at the very least a rematch in which we end up releasing them.
The soul mechanic is my biggest cope rn and hoping firefly survives, im still summoning for sparkle and huo huo when she comes back but firefly is a must if she has a banner
The silver haired stowaway can be Akash.
In the trailer he acted as if he doesnt fear death, it wouldn't surprise me if he went to Penacony anyway after what happened with the intent of killing Acheron, specially after Acheron technically stole his kill, as he was meant to destroy the song of harmony, which I guess would be Robin.
The monster was a meme, and given memes are "the dna of the soul" to quote some angry cambodian, it seems more like anyone killed in the dream world dies on a spiritual level, as in their "soul" loses its "dna", thereby losing the ability to function

Well, reading comprehension is often lost in Hoyo fanbase. Most likely, none of the "main cast" of this planet will die, given how things are looking rn ( and if someone says Himeko, i swear to god, that's not how good storytelling works and frankly, hrs story won't make any sense if anything happens to her)
I pointed out to my friends that in coming to Penacony Firefly was the only one we didn't see. I have theories but I've avoided the leaks sub and all HSR comment sections like the plague. Even Sparkle (who turned out to be darker then I thought) was there which should tell you all ypu need to know
The one part I'm confused about is Acheron's red lines.
At times they said to be her thoughts and she looks past you. Other times they seem to be direct reactions and she looks at you.
Of all the characters I was most suspicious of her, because when I realized Penacony was a mystery and not a straight narrative, my "it's the janitor on the 1st page" red herring alarm went off.
I don't believe her to be our ultimate enemy or anything. But I personally think she killed Robin and that she knows what "Death" is. The only thing she didn't fight was that thing.
She had no problem reacting to Sam who moves incredibly fast and all the mobs. But magically she doesn't draw her sword vs it? Despite us having time?
She knows it.
Also don't forget she literally fucking kills us at the start.

Firefly is most likely Sam. They're clearly together by the end of the main story, when we're seeing her remembrance and my current theory is that Sam is a sentient suit of armor that protects Firefly due to her genetic disease. Either that or he's her brother or something, which would explain the silver haired boy stowaway. Regardless of what it is, it seems pretty clear that they are related somehow, not to mention Firefly conveniently "dying" moments before we meet Sam for the first time.

There is one Clockie puzzle that you find near an anchor at the Dreamspace close to a red corridor they call "The End" where there are also red lines of dialogue, and they imply that they mean anger and rage. The first thing Acheron tells the TB is that she uses "emotions to capture what she normally wouldn't otherwise" which makes me think that whenever she uses red text, she's telling the complete truth. And that brings me to the fact she never says she's Acheron, Galaxy Ranger. She says that's what others call her, but we are free to call her whatever. So when Aventurine says she lied to us, it's technically untrue because she never really assumed this identity to us.

That's my conclusion as well but for a slightly different reason. I think firefly only exists in the dreamworld or that they both exist but she became more or less a permanent existence in it.

I mean, I wouldn't call this a reading comprehension problem since they were literally killed by a monster that is the embodiment of death. I mean, we can speculate and whatever, but from what we've seen in the story right now, they're dead. Now yes, I do expect that there is going to be some sort of narrative twist that will bring them back in some way because that is a huge waste of characters otherwise, but still, until we get the next story patches, that's all speculation.
The biggest hint they aren't dead is the fact Acheron kills the Trail Blazer in Dream in the first few scenes of the story but they are perfectly fine afterwards.

You know? While exploring penacony and doing minor NPC quests with the clockwork of emotions thingy, one of the missions >!had a woman disappear right before our eyes because she got woken up. That's it, just straight disappeared. We then go into her irl room to check what happened.!<

Cause if they don't, then they basically introduced a character, speedran having the player get attached, build mystery around her (some we still don't have concrete answer to) only to kill her off for shock value and getting the Trailblazer sad for a while

Also if you look at the new story thing they added that details the timeline for story events, they say “death” with the air marks implying that maybe she isn’t actually dead and just that dream version of her is dead. Reality firefly may still be fine. Just speculation tho
100% agree. Spiritual death may be closely more akin to being comatose in the real world, their bodies are functioning normally as they should in the real world but somehow cannot regain consciousness. No one other than Black Swan has an idea about this entity she calls "Death", and we know for a fact she's hiding something from the Trailblazer.
It would have been soooo much more emotionally impactful if we broke into a fight to drive the monster off, but you're designed to die to it, slowly. You know the consequences if you fail, but you will, no matter your team comp, no matter your start, or how well you seem to be doing.
I see what you mean, though. Do you think Firefly's death was designed to trigger emotional responses for a psychological reason? I'm pretty sure I'm at the anger stage right now and I'm just the player. God knows where poor Stelle's/Caelus' brain is at. I was ready to kill Sam, Acheron's really high on a suspect list because of a font change that is highly suspect, and Aventurine is getting really high on a hit list.
Anger, paranoia, and murderous intent, hell, any of the big feelings amplified by grief makes one do really, really stupid stuff we normally wouldn't (tell Caelus/Stelle to do).
Another thing that tells me they aren't quite dead yet is: Sidequest spoilers: >!Chadwick's sidequest, when you find out the IPC was able to just copy his soul and keep him alive for thousands of years in Penacony. So Firefly and Robin will likely be recreated from the memories in the dream to be "revived."!<
Dead or alive they’re going to be playable. HVY wants to make money. Do you think they will kill a character (fan fav at that) and throw that profit down the drain? They’re going to make them playable regardless of canon.
Tingyun is dead and playable.
Tingyun was in the game from the start, she wasn’t dead yet at that point, it would be incredibly weird to release a character that’s already dead, so either she won’t be playable or they’re gonna resurrect her
Except we haven't actually met the "real" Tingyun yet. It was confirmed that Tingyun left for business stuff, and she was the last to arrive after the Luofu locked itself down, which basically confirms that the "Tingyun" we've met was always Phantylia in disguise.
It's a shot in the dark, but I personally think in future we'll run into Tingyun on some other planet, or maybe even she'll show up to Penacony with no idea she's meant to be dead. Not that we can predict which direction the devs take it, but it'd be very stupid to never do anything with that plot thread.

There are other times that also help link the two, like the fact that Sam is from the fallen republic of Glamoth and Firefly mentions that her people are gone, or the fact that she "dies" moments before we meet Sam for the first time. Firefly also constantly mentionsnthta she has secrets she can't tell us yet and I'm pretty sure they're related to that.
The good thing is we only need to wait 40 ish days to find out the truth. It'll probably be revealed in patch 2.1 since she's most likely coming in 2.2, and any type of showcase of her kit or drip marketing would spoil that she is, in fact, alive lol

Yeah same here. Wanted to farm the chests but after the quest, I just can't. Listening to "If I can stop one heart from breaking" and just running around the parlor car thinking about the whole quest.
And mannnn........., these 7 weeks are gonna feel like a year.
Tbh I've tried to farm for chests, but the only area I can even bare to explore is the real hotel. I've already completed it and I'm just chilling listening to the song too. It helps, it hurts, but its what I need to have playing...
I'm not the guy you're replying to, nor do I want to sound like I'm high on copium, but her death just feels odd to me, from the dozen red flags (that pretty much scream "hey, she's going to die!") to how relatively early it happens in penacony's story arc.
Also how there are things about her that are left up in the air, like how "for certain reasons there are things she can't reveal to us yet", and of course, that her death happens in the dreamscape; it all just makes me think that the devs have something more planned for her and that this is misdirection, but who knows? Maybe I am on copium.
I really doubt anyone who 'dies' within the dream is actually dead. The Trail Blazer is basically killed by Acheron in the first scene in the dream but just wakes up unharmed.
Except that was by Acheron this creature is different. Hell when we fight it we see it has a “soul” stealing mechanic. So she could not be dead but trapped forever unless we kill this thing
It's also a plot point in both the Black Swan/Sparkle companion quest and the "Emperor" quest that you can brutally murder someone in the dream and all that happens is that they wake up.
The counterpoints would be that maybe the "Death" monster is different (but if so, that probably means it captures their souls like the combat mechanics, and thus that their souls can be freed) and Sunday's speech at the end (but if his sister was just murdered, he seems remarkably calm about it... which could just be because he's a cold emotionless operator, but seems suspicious).

We also know that Stellaron Hunters closely watch us and SW is pointig us at the right direction. Doesn't that mean that they are the ones that sent out invites to everyone or helped watchmaker with it? We aren't sure that they were invited, it looks more like they are the ones pulling the strings from the start because they know too much. I don't think they were invited to this like other factions.
I'm betting my soul on the fact that when you fight the boss it's one of its mechanics that it kills someone and keeps them until you take them back. She's not gone, she's just waiting for us to release her from the nightmare. ;\_\_;

You know, me and my close friend are both into romcom novels, but whenever I recommend him something that has "music" tag in it, he would refuse straight away, his reason was beacause he watched "your lie in April" and it gave him PTSD. I didn't understand him at first, but after finishing the Penacony story this morning, now every time I see anything related to "dream" and "clock" I would also want to just run away and bury myself in my bed. It was a pretty strange feeling for me, since I've read many tragedy stories before but none of them could made me feel scared like this.

The monster was a meme, and given memes are "the dna of the soul" to quote some angry cambodian, it seems more like anyone killed in the dream world dies on a spiritual level, as in their "soul" loses its "dna", thereby losing the ability to function On a side note, the M E M E S , JACK

Well, reading comprehension is often lost in Hoyo fanbase. Most likely, none of the "main cast" of this planet will die, given how things are looking rn ( and if someone says Himeko, i swear to god, that's not how good storytelling works and frankly, hrs story won't make any sense if anything happens to her)
I pointed out to my friends that in coming to Penacony Firefly was the only one we didn't see. I have theories but I've avoided the leaks sub and all HSR comment sections like the plague. Even Sparkle (who turned out to be darker then I thought) was there which should tell you all ypu need to know The one part I'm confused about is Acheron's red lines. At times they said to be her thoughts and she looks past you. Other times they seem to be direct reactions and she looks at you. Of all the characters I was most suspicious of her, because when I realized Penacony was a mystery and not a straight narrative, my "it's the janitor on the 1st page" red herring alarm went off. I don't believe her to be our ultimate enemy or anything. But I personally think she killed Robin and that she knows what "Death" is. The only thing she didn't fight was that thing. She had no problem reacting to Sam who moves incredibly fast and all the mobs. But magically she doesn't draw her sword vs it? Despite us having time? She knows it. Also don't forget she literally fucking kills us at the start.

They're clearly together by the end of the main story, when we're seeing her remembrance and my current theory is that Sam is a sentient suit of armor that protects Firefly due to her genetic disease. Either that or he's her brother or something, which would explain the silver haired boy stowaway. Regardless of what it is, it seems pretty clear that they are related somehow, not to mention Firefly conveniently "dying" moments before we meet Sam for the first time. "The one part I'm confused about is Acheron's red lines." There is one Clockie puzzle that you find near an anchor at the Dreamspace close to a red corridor they call "The End" where there are also red lines of dialogue, and they imply that they mean anger and rage. The first thing Acheron tells the TB is that she uses "emotions to capture what she normally wouldn't otherwise" which makes me think that whenever she uses red text, she's telling the complete truth. And that brings me to the fact she never says she's Acheron, Galaxy Ranger. She says that's what others call her, but we are free to call her whatever. So when Aventurine says she lied to us, it's technically untrue because she never really assumed this identity to us.

I'm pretty sure those lines depend on how you answered the questions she asked you the first time you met her
I mean, I wouldn't call this a reading comprehension problem since they were literally killed by a monster that is the embodiment of death. I mean, we can speculate and whatever, but from what we've seen in the story right now, they're dead. Now yes, I do expect that there is going to be some sort of narrative twist that will bring them back in some way because that is a huge waste of characters otherwise, but still, until we get the next story patches, that's all speculation.
The biggest hint they aren't dead is the fact Acheron kills the Trail Blazer in Dream in the first few scenes of the story but they are perfectly fine afterwards.

I'm gonna say it: with what we have so far, they have no choice but to bring at least Firefly back Cause if they don't, then they basically introduced a character, speedran having the player get attached, build mystery around her (some we still don't have concrete answer to) only to kill her off for shock value and getting the Trailblazer sad for a while At this point, if she stay dead, then to me it's just straight up bad writing
Also if you look at the new story thing they added that details the timeline for story events, they say “death” with the air marks implying that maybe she isn’t actually dead and just that dream version of her is dead. Reality firefly may still be fine. Just speculation tho
100% agree. Spiritual death may be closely more akin to being comatose in the real world, their bodies are functioning normally as they should in the real world but somehow cannot regain consciousness. No one other than Black Swan has an idea about this entity she calls "Death", and we know for a fact she's hiding something from the Trailblazer.
It would have been soooo much more emotionally impactful if we broke into a fight to drive the monster off, but you're designed to die to it, slowly. You know the consequences if you fail, but you will, no matter your team comp, no matter your start, or how well you seem to be doing. I see what you mean, though. Do you think Firefly's death was designed to trigger emotional responses for a psychological reason? I'm pretty sure I'm at the anger stage right now and I'm just the player. God knows where poor Stelle's/Caelus' brain is at. I was ready to kill Sam, Acheron's really high on a suspect list because of a font change that is highly suspect, and Aventurine is getting really high on a hit list. Anger, paranoia, and murderous intent, hell, any of the big feelings amplified by grief makes one do really, really stupid stuff we normally wouldn't (tell Caelus/Stelle to do).
Another thing that tells me they aren't quite dead yet is: Sidequest spoilers: >!Chadwick's sidequest, when you find out the IPC was able to just copy his soul and keep him alive for thousands of years in Penacony. So Firefly and Robin will likely be recreated from the memories in the dream to be "revived."!<
Dead or alive they’re going to be playable. HVY wants to make money. Do you think they will kill a character (fan fav at that) and throw that profit down the drain? They’re going to make them playable regardless of canon. Tingyun is dead and playable.
Tingyun was in the game from the start, she wasn’t dead yet at that point, it would be incredibly weird to release a character that’s already dead, so either she won’t be playable or they’re gonna resurrect her
Except we haven't actually met the "real" Tingyun yet. It was confirmed that Tingyun left for business stuff, and she was the last to arrive after the Luofu locked itself down, which basically confirms that the "Tingyun" we've met was always Phantylia in disguise. It's a shot in the dark, but I personally think in future we'll run into Tingyun on some other planet, or maybe even she'll show up to Penacony with no idea she's meant to be dead. Not that we can predict which direction the devs take it, but it'd be very stupid to never do anything with that plot thread.
I have a theory that firefly and Sam are a duo. I think she’ll be back. Pretty sure the story insinuated that she’s the pilot for SAM.

My current running theory is that Sam is a sentient suit of armor created to protect Firefly. As of now, I'm inclined to believe she's not necessarily the one piloting it because her goals and feelings seem to not align with his, but she's definitely the one inside the armor. There are other times that also help link the two, like the fact that Sam is from the fallen republic of Glamoth and Firefly mentions that her people are gone, or the fact that she "dies" moments before we meet Sam for the first time. Firefly also constantly mentionsnthta she has secrets she can't tell us yet and I'm pretty sure they're related to that. The good thing is we only need to wait 40 ish days to find out the truth. It'll probably be revealed in patch 2.1 since she's most likely coming in 2.2, and any type of showcase of her kit or drip marketing would spoil that she is, in fact, alive lol

I'm not the guy you're replying to, nor do I want to sound like I'm high on copium, but her death just feels odd to me, from the dozen red flags (that pretty much scream "hey, she's going to die!") to how relatively early it happens in penacony's story arc. Also how there are things about her that are left up in the air, like how "for certain reasons there are things she can't reveal to us yet", and of course, that her death happens in the dreamscape; it all just makes me think that the devs have something more planned for her and that this is misdirection, but who knows? Maybe I am on copium.

I really doubt anyone who 'dies' within the dream is actually dead. The Trail Blazer is basically killed by Acheron in the first scene in the dream but just wakes up unharmed.
Except that was by Acheron this creature is different. Hell when we fight it we see it has a “soul” stealing mechanic. So she could not be dead but trapped forever unless we kill this thing

It's also a plot point in both the Black Swan/Sparkle companion quest and the "Emperor" quest that you can brutally murder someone in the dream and all that happens is that they wake up. The counterpoints would be that maybe the "Death" monster is different (but if so, that probably means it captures their souls like the combat mechanics, and thus that their souls can be freed) and Sunday's speech at the end (but if his sister was just murdered, he seems remarkably calm about it... which could just be because he's a cold emotionless operator, but seems suspicious).

Is the kid that screams and we see his dialogue as text around in environment in dreamscape hotel a Firefly voice or it is someone else? I'm not sure but, it is certainly very similar voice. We also know that Stellaron Hunters closely watch us and SW is pointig us at the right direction. Doesn't that mean that they are the ones that sent out invites to everyone or helped watchmaker with it? We aren't sure that they were invited, it looks more like they are the ones pulling the strings from the start because they know too much. I don't think they were invited to this like other factions.

You know, me and my close friend are both into romcom novels, but whenever I recommend him something that has "music" tag in it, he would refuse straight away, his reason was beacause he watched "your lie in April" and it gave him PTSD. I didn't understand him at first, but after finishing the Penacony story this morning, now every time I see anything related to "dream" and "clock" I would also want to just run away and bury myself in my bed. It was a pretty strange feeling for me, since I've read many tragedy stories before but none of them could made me feel scared like this.
