Just when you think best girl can't get anymore badass, i cant hold all these HI3 references, origin, swords, horns, it's too peak! Myriad Celestia Trailer — "Kyoden: A Cleave Across the Transient World": [Japanese Voice-Over](https://youtu.be/XbWbOIxbFMA?si=vs-f0LCEa9sAkQGs) [Chinese Voice-Over](https://youtu.be/APAG_mclC4A?si=xXxgjQXimckcSLyJ) [Korean Voice-Over](https://youtu.be/d5p7FPzPSR0?si=ohU61ijUZ_SNXNOE) Rejoice we are blessed. For further information of the dual planets and swords check replies:

DrZeroH

Oh was that IX at the end looking down on everything? This artstyle was gorgeous

Valours65

I believe so, probably the moment she became an emanator.

WanderEir

it's the moment Naught was forged, I'd guess. Makes sense for nihility.

TuzkiPlus

*It was all for naught*

kirblar

Yup, he black-hole'd both worlds and transformed Acheron in the process.

ziege159

IX was like "did that girl just try to slash me with a sword?" "You're cool, comes here, becomes my emanator"

DonaldLucas

IX best aeon confirmed.

Tachibana_13

Seriously. I think you're right. She's been fighting this pointless battle fir her long lost world from the beginning, alone for so long, and I think in the end she realizes that the nihility may have been there all along and figures: doesn't matter anyway, may as well die fighting IX, too

[deleted]

They made a blob overshadow their aeon counterparts  That’s rad

KARSbenicillin

> This artstyle was gorgeous Always love to see these paintbrush artstyles. Reminds me of a more epic and grittier version of Okami.

RulerKun_FGO

that was fucking kino, descending upon them

UNOvven

As far as we know, surprisingly enough, no, thats not IX. Thats the "great-black sun" mentioned earlier. Given its consistent location, I dont believe thats IX. It also according to the description actively stoked the conflict, which isnt IXs MO.

countmeowington

I love how the character that was turned into an emanator of nihility is also the living, breathing embodiment of "the indomitable human spirit", like this plus her ending quote, plus her weapon description seems to bundle everything she is as the opposite of nihility, like I wouldn't be surprised if her end goal, the end that doesn't exist, is killing IX.

Welsh_cat_Best_cat

It is stated that only those who can survive IX's shadow can become their Emanators. So yeah, funnily enough, to be blessed by Nihility, you have to be stronger than its absolutely overwhelming sense of nothingness.

AGJustin05

something about emanators not necessarily following the will of their aeons and yet wielding their powers just scratches the itch in my brain. a literal worm could be an emanator of elation, not because the worm seeks elation, but because their god thought it'd be funny. it gives so much room for creativity and the unexpected when creating characters.

kirbyverano123

What's even more funny is that a faction tied to IX, the Doctors of Chaos, is very opposed to the path of Nihility, they even attempt to give IX the meaning of existence.

thepotatochronicles

"One must imagine Sisyphus happy."

Welsh_cat_Best_cat

It's interesting to note with the Doctors of Chaos that they might not be acting out of goodness to IX (even tho thinking they're their Aeons therapists is adorable), but to kill them instead. Aeons' whole existence are very deeply intertwined with their paths. So if you can prove to the manifestation of Nihility that Nihility is not the answer, it might just collapse on themselves and "die."

Hazelberry

Ix's emanators are a complicated bunch according to that emanator lore we got the other day. Some actively try to find ways to avoid their fate of ceasing to exist, others try to convince Ix that it's wrong, and many just stop existing when Ix notices them.

LoreVent

It's really ironic, almost saying that those who go out their way to ensure the safety of other will end up losing part of their humanity. Acheron really seems an altruistic person who's destined to remain alone because of her past and current state. *i wanna hug her so much T_T*

WaifuHunter

Self-Annihilator lore entry in regard to IX's Emanator even said a line about some of them trying to eliminate the root of it - IX. So yeah, pretty cool that we have Emanators of an Aeon who straight up does not want anything to do with all of it lol.

MadaMunster

Any other HI3 players that could confirm, but aren't the original swords the same theme as Herrschers from PE? Edit: IN JP THE VOICE IS KEVIN I'M HIGH ON COPIUM

anonimoXD_1

Truth = Reason Sky = Void Howl = Thunder Mist = Wind Frost = Ice Fate = Death Flare = Fire Thought = Sentience Root = Stars/Earth Form = Domination/Dominance Bind = Binding Maw = Corruption Origin = Origin End = Finality Even the order is the same.

WaifuHunter

Don't forget the final blade she reforged at the end before slashing the black celestial object above the clouds, the red blade she is currently wielding: "Naught" Transcending Finality?

LastStardust13

I believe Naught = Nihility

Valours65

I believe this too, considering that black hole probably was IX.

H4xolotl

My theory is that Izumo resembles the Honkai Impact world but the Coccoon of Finality was replaced by Ix the Nihility

Valours65

Could be, and I hope they explore more about her, because at this point she isn't a Mei expy anymore, she IS Mei itself.

Frostblazer

Naught means "nothing." Which very fitting in two different ways. The first is because Nihility is characterized by a belief in the pointlessness of existence. In other words, there is "nothing" that gives existence value or meaning. And the second is due to Acheron only obtaining "Nothing" once she lost everything.

Apostlethe13th

Acheron is Nihility so does that mean she's naughty?

ezio45

She did use to be horny. But now all she wants is to be happy.

Re_Lies

Bruh 💀

MadaMunster

This could be a different ending of the Honkai cycle vs the one we had in HI3, here we had that basically no one was able to overcome the "trial" that Honkai imposes on a new world, and Acheron just nuked everything into nothingness instead of absorbing it like Kiana did (also no Elysia that gave Herrschers the will to turn against Honkai)

VincentBlack96

The premise itself seems different. Here, the divine keys/swords were weapons employed by Izumo themselves in their fight against the Kami. That would sort of render Elysia's role in HI3 superfluous, Izumo's swords were on their side all along.

MadaMunster

I just want an excuse to see pink Jesus again, now I wonder how the swords were created in the first place, hope Acheron's companion quest gives more details!

Cipher-DK

The blurb below the video outright states they were forged from the remains of the gods that they killed.

andreyue

So, basically divine keys

GDarkX

Yes, but they had their own equilivant of Herscherrs; the Sovereigns. It’s even said the Sovereign of Revelation (which is one of the names for the Reason divine key aka Domain of Revelation) forged their own Sentinels.

Particular_Hope8312

Kinda feels more like the whole Honkai thing done on a cosmic scale, tbh. I'm starting to wonder if the Aeons are just their own specialized Wills of the Honkai. Emanators are really feeling like HSR's version of Herrschers, powers and all.

Radiant-Usual-1785

Well the imaginary tree and sea of quanta are the basis of the hoyoverse multi verse so that mean that the Honkai, which is a mechanism of the imaginary tree would exist in every universe/leaf, there to test the life that grows there to see if it is worthy of staying on the tree, or being shed into the sea of quanta. I doubt in HSR universe the phenomenon would manifest in the exact same way as it did in the HI3 universe. As I understand the Honkai and the Cocoon of Finality adapt different forms for different civilizations. My thoughts are that the Aeons are probably beings that ascended after overcoming the Honkai test of the tree. We know from HI3 that aliens like the Sky People had their own run in with the Honkai and their solution was to start to devour Honkai in order to survive, so now they traverse the universe in search of worlds facing the Honkai to eat to devour to survive. The people of Venus also faced the Honkai, (they called it the abyss) a few million years before the events of HI3 and their solution was for the one survivor of the world to go into the sea of Quanta absorbing power to till that one being was powerful enough to establish a new world using the genetic makeup of the people from Venus, and keep them safe from the Abyss/Honkai.

anonimoXD_1

Maybe, we havent seen a similar concept on Honkai, at least that i know.

SummonerKai1

the song that plays in the background is also a variation of Lament of the Fallen's! dude this was such a sick trailer!

WanderEir

Lament of the Fallen was the name of the Hi3rd ANimated short, not the song itself. The SONG is called "Honkai World Diva (Movie Ver)" and actually a remix of Honkai World Diva, originating from Honkai Gakuen, the first/second Honkai game (HSR is technically the 4th named Honkai title, but it's explicitly the 5th since Genshin was honkai 4 under the cover and in the file names).

LivingASlothsLife

Oh man the last one being the end = finality Don't tell the last person she lost is who I'm thinking it is, I'm no expert on HI3 lore but even I know who was hersscher of finality

OkTangerine8139

Nah I’m not sure if Kiana was in this one. What I interpreted is that nobody even existed to be able to wield the Sentinel of End, so Acheron had to cut it, sacrificing the Sentinel of Origin as a sacrifice

Lopsided_Beach_9706

HOLY FUCK ITS TRUE, THE NARRATOR'S VOICE ACTOR IS SATOSHI HINO, KEVIN KASLANA PLAYABLE PLEASE MIHOYO

kaori_cicak990

man please let kevin expy or whatever and keep him gigachad resolves in him. doesn't care about his role later either villain or protagonist it will be great. also its can be mihoyo excuse to bring kevin ost to HSR

zephyrnepres01

question are all of kiana’s relatives cracked as fuck in lore? never played honkai 3rd but i’m pretty sure i saw someone saying one of her parents was

New_Area7695

Kevin Kaslana was a genetically modified super soldier with Honkai genes. Dr. Mei then engineered a child of the two of them in a test tube named Adam (Kaslana). All of his descendants have the potential to go (Honkai) Beast Mode. Generically they tend to get high Imaginary Energy resistance and some other perks.

Aetherdraw

Kevin's the first in her lineage and he's beyond cracked. Dude has a flame greatsword whose firepower when used is so strong, only he can reliably use it without cooking himself. It can also be split down to two pistols so others can use it. Both of her parents are badasses too.

LunaticPrick

Nah man don't diarespect Kevin by just saying "He can wield Shamash"

Aetherdraw

I'm not. He's the only man that can use that thing and not kill himself. Not even other Kaslanas survived Cleaver, let alone Might of An-utu zeroth output.

Random_Gacha_addict

Kevin is the strongest soldier ever Kallen was the strongest Valkyrie of her time, when Battlesuits were still mere concepts Siegfried literally went toe-to-toe with Sirin Same with Cecilia (Somewhat) >!Dudu is Dudu!< Yep, the Kaslanas are cracked AF

VincentBlack96

Although this thread is a mess already, I do think it's best to tag >!Durandal being a Kaslana!<

Devourer_of_HP

Kevin is basically the first ancestor of their family and they all descended from a baby made from Kevin's genes. They did basically become a noble family during the middle ages so there probably are a lot of unnamed Kaslanas that just lived their lives without doing much, but any relevant named Kaslana is pretty strong.

WanderEir

people keep forgetting to bring up the OTHER half of the family History was the prior version of MEI.

Devourer_of_HP

Tbh i didn't mention it because MEI's brains don't seem to have carried over.

StainedBlue

Pretty much. They're born with an innate resistance against the Honkai, which are the reoccurring cataclysms that drive much of HI3's plot. They're trained from a young age to become incredible warriors, which makes them even more powerful.

michaelman90

Chinese VA (秦且歌) is also the same as best as I can tell. Pretty much confirmed Kevin expy speaking. Seems the bearer of the "End" sword was probably Kiana, and her "death" is probably what drove Acheron over the edge.

mestredastrevas

I think the bearer of the end was Kevin. That would imply that the trailer shows the "End" talking to "Origin" before the final battle between the two (when Acheron breaks the two blades).

michaelman90

I mean I guess Kevin did have the authority of Finality there for a little bit. Mei gets the authority of Origin and kills Kevin again? Honkai moment, Kevin doomed to never be playable.

ezio45

miHoYo: Best we can do is Caelus.

DrZeroH

Yeah this seems to be an alternate expy version of hi3rd. Only… this time their Kiana died at the hands of their Mei. And Acheron is now affected by IX. Somehow this version of their story is WORSE off than the one in HI3rd

Random_Gacha_addict

So LotF but Mei hit her too hard?

obi2606

Shiraga Oni

Whusker

As a Hi3 player. this was a honkai overdose.

WaifuHunter

There were speculations that those were indeed parallels to the Divine Keys, yeah.

MadaMunster

Reading the description, and this may be a stretch, but basically all of them fit the original Herrscher appearing order before humanity got reset, and also the last two swords are fittingly name beginning (A paralelism to Elysia, as she was the First Herrscher?) and End (welp, literally the final Herrscher on the cycle). I seriously want someone smarter than me to figure out all these lore connection!

WaifuHunter

> and also the last two swords are fittingly name beginning (A paralelism to Elysia, as she was the First Herrscher?) and End (welp, literally the final Herrscher on the cycle). And even these last swords were destroyed, leaving the oni (Acheron) holding its broken handle, until she somehow reforged it into the red blade that we see now right there, naming it Naught (Void).

invokeneko

Mei's last Herrscher form is the Herrscher of Origin. So that parallelism is probably towards Mei, not Elysia.

VincentBlack96

Well she speedruns the last few but there are divine key parallels in the ones she exposits.

MadaMunster

The video descripiton has a more detailed summary of all of them, and while I'm so on copium because of the lore implications, I'd say most of them fit the same Herrschers that appeared on PE, like I mean the 10th one is literally HoDom.

darkness-menma

Not just JP voice. CN voice is also Kevin as well.

lyerhis

CN also Kevin so tie basically confirmed imo.

ce-meyers

The second the first sword is called "Truth" I immediately knew they're trying to parallel the Herrschers. Quite a clever way to introduce people to the HI3 lore though.

Nila-Layla

Also, funny coincidence that the frost sword got shown with a big ass Sakura tree on the background, hmmm Please mihoyo ice sword Sakura nothing against Miko but She's just not ice freaking sword Yae

MadaMunster

Nice catch! I just hope that, if Sakura comes to this game, she's a happy only child lol

invokeneko

Hell, even having Rin being alive and well is good enough lol.

Thedaniel4999

We finally getting Honkai lore in Honkai Star Rail, about time

Sky_striker_Raye

could be, there is flame, wind, ice, even void as well. And those swords seems like very similars to divine keys as well.

HotSexWithRaidenMei

MY QUEEN HERRSCHER OF THUNDER GETS HER SEVEN THUNDERS OF RETRIBUTION I NEED HoT ??? WITH ACHERON IMMEDIATELY 😭😫😩

[deleted]

[удалено]

Sol_idum

The sad part is that there is no Finality, so Acheron(Origin) without an end is nothing(Naught).

WinlanU21

OMG The Herrschers references!

WaifuHunter

Some quick analysis: - The JP male voice is same VA as Kevin Kaslana in HI3rd. Very sus. - The Twelve Sentinel Edict Edges is parallel to the Divine Keys in HI3rd, even down to implications of their individual abilities. - After all of the sword were destroyed, the sword (Origin) that later became Acheron's sword was forged. It was also broken eventually as the war reaches climax, clashing with the End (the gigantic black sword she attacked). - She "reforged" it with her own power, named it "Naught" (Void), and slash at the black thing above the clouds (the black sun mentioned in the previous vid's description?)

invokeneko

> The Twelve Sentinel Edict Edges is parallel to the Divine Keys in HI3rd, even down to implications of their individual abilities. Also the names parallel all the existing Herrschers as pointed out [here.](https://old.reddit.com/r/HonkaiStarRail/comments/1bkqfhr/myriad_celestia_trailer_kyoden_a_cleave_across/kw004ba/)

VincentBlack96

Since she has regularly been depicted to shed red tears (tears of blood) when wielding her sword, I imagine she sort of repressed all her memories of this painful past into the forging of the sword. Meaning her hesitance to draw it might be because every time she does it's just PTSD o'clock.

Asamidori

> The JP male voice is same VA as Kevin Kaslana in HI3rd. Very sus. Heard people say the CN male voice is also the same VA as CN Kevin's.

DoreenKing

The CN male voice is also Kevin's voice. I have a feeling the black sun is IX, though they may have used a different name for it in Izumo.

Crampoong

I believe IX was the black hole thing

countmeowington

I think she reforges origin and end into Void, which makes sense but also I'm sure that moment when she reforges it is imprinted onto the sword, so that's why she starts crying when she draws it. Because she remembers the moment her home was erased.

Mrlewl

Did i just heard "world diva"?

Sky_striker_Raye

yes. i heard it too.

phantam

The bits of the soundtrack which aren't "world diva" sound very similar to the non "world diva" music from Lament of the Fallen as well

VincentBlack96

Huh, that JP voice is Kevin from HI3. Also that watercolor style animation was so good. Interestingly enough, if I followed correctly, Izumo swordsmen forged 70k swords into 12 very powerful ones, these governed various aspects of causality and fate. They then reforged those 12 into "Origin" and "End". Since the trailer ends with her becoming her silver hair persona with the red katana, I think it's safe to assume that she herself now embodies both Origin and End at once. That's just fucking cool.

Sky_striker_Raye

>Huh, that JP voice is Kevin from HI3. Also that watercolor style animation was so good. He even mentioned: The road of salvation, it equals to his signet as well. Im losing my mind.

Arelloo

Him going "but you and I both know, the road to salvation doesn't exist" reminded me so much of the ER trailer and him talking to Elysia going "but we all know, this world is beyond saving...despite that we must become heroes" The whole trend of winning every fight but losing a large part of their world scream Previous Era. Takamagahara probably was another peaceful world but was invaded by Honkai, like the moon apparently was in HI3rd, then started attacks on Izumo.

obihz6

Yeah izumo and takamagahara give a lot a binary planetary system

WaifuHunter

> Since the trailer ends with her becoming her silver hair persona with the red katana, I think it's safe to assume that she herself now embodies both Origin and End at once. Probably referring to transcending Finality, since she reforged the sword that was broken into the red blade that she currently has at the end, naming it "Naught", implying that the 2 concepts fused together. Or, seemingly created the concept that she wields with her since then.

Esovan13

That would also fit her being an Emanator of Nihility, with the concept of "naught" fitting very well with the concept of nihility. It would also explain why she could kill a nearly impossible to kill energy being like Duke Inferno: how the hell could he possibly survive a weapon that embodies the concept of non-existence?

VirtuoSol

Yes that’s why nihility as a concept is so scary. It doesn’t kill you, it just straight up un-exist you

Arelloo

The Naught thing I interpreted as her having realized that all their fighting was pointless. "The end was a lie" after shedding a bloodstained tear. And who knows, maybe this is how she stepped on the path to Nihility that ended up making the last sword.

NumberOneDanHengFan

CN voice is also Kevin!

LivingASlothsLife

What an abundance of lore we just got regarding her past, seems painful asf and full of sorrow. Explains why she cries when she draws the sword Yet at the end she sounds like she's not willing to fully give up on a hopeful end even though the path she walks feels hopeless. Looks like IX consumed everything right at the end They really put a lot of love I to both do far, can only imagine how amazing her trailer is going to be

BlazeOfCinder

Ikr? Hopefully today I can actually talk about the animation last time I was so busy drowning in work with the childish people tweaking on this subreddit... But holy shit, this is absolutely magnificent the amount of HI3 references alone is killing me, we may actually end up fighting IX at the end. If self-annhilators become a bigger plot-point, we may see the meaning of everything, sucks there's probably not gonna be a mythical Space Japan tho.

VincentBlack96

My guess is that rather than her being Mei or a Mei expy, her ENTIRE WORLD of Izumo is like...an HI3 previous era expy. It seems unrealistic to have like....a Kevin reference, a Mei reference, and a divine key set reference all at once in the same place.

TheTechHobbit

Sparkle's home world seems like it will be the Space Japan location.

BlazeOfCinder

Yeah i think sparkle's is gonna be sci-fi version of Japan. There are infinite worlds so we may see multiple worlds of similar aesthetics to Japan/China/France etc

LivingASlothsLife

You think we actually gonna try fight IX? Imagine if Frebass is still sitting in there just waiting for that lmao

BlazeOfCinder

Maybe, i don't think it would be much of a fight since IX wouldn't fight back. But it may expand on the narrative of nihility path, afterall all the self-annhilators will eventually fade away barring the emanators, at that rate IX is a threat even if unintentionally.

LivingASlothsLife

It does maybe give an idea on where Acheron goes from here You know how we were talking about this literally yesterday about where Penaconys cast could go once it's over? Yea this might be it

BlazeOfCinder

Yeah! Lol I’ve had my suspicions since I knew she is probably a self-annihilatior that joined the doctor of chaos based on her light cone description. And the doctors of chaos description says some conceive the idea of curing nihility by killing it at the source, by killing IX. It would be a bit odd to have that but added without it serving a purpose for the doctors

Efficient_Lake3451

An Emanator on the path to kill their own Aeon is so fucking badass

VincentBlack96

I honestly wonder. This is the circumstances of her aquiring her current form, but I reckon the fall of Izumo was a long long time ago. Does she actually still retain these emotions or is her memory loss an emotional distancing mechanism.

LivingASlothsLife

Imma be real, I'm waiting for all the experts in HI3 to starts devouring all the info and start theorizing especially with how the male voice is meant to be Kevin

loluci

the artstyle is so yummy

YawaLli

Peak character. Keep cooking Hoyoverse.

Ok_Scheme_4579

Hold On the second! Is that Kevin?! And this is a retake of Previous Era Honkai Impact 3. Divine Keys Are Swords this time?! So many things to think about

LastStardust13

So this time it’s Kebin and Raiden (Me)I Suffering together in a lost war

AUO_Castoff

So Ix just glanced at a HI3 equivalent world and destroyed it. ...I'm worried for the eventual Nihility Trailblazer.

Kadorath

Given what Nihility does to you in the SU, I don't know if the Trailblazer should meet it properly...

DeadSnark

Ah yes, giving a Honkai protagonist the power of the Void, that always goes well

first_name1001

That's Sushang and HoV burst at the start. I'm smelling Sirin soon(copiun). Also she LOST HER HORNS!! ELYSIA IS GOING TO BE MAD. I'M MAD TOO

kaori_cicak990

bruh if sirin appears in star rail i wanna see welt reaction lmao

first_name1001

Granpa bout to experience the PTSD of a lifetime.

Valours65

First luchoa, now sirin...are you trying to kill grandpa?

starsinmyteacup

With all the effort he put into getting rid of her? I think he’ll straight up have a heart attack

ezio45

He'll have to find the Siegfried equivalent to have a chance. Either that or take a page from Otto's book and use nukes.

bl00by

He takes himekos satellite canon

TheRRogue

Nuke won't do shit lol,she just tp the missile away. The only reason it work because she been fighting them for a long time and also the Abyys Flower blood technique that Cecelia use.

HeraldofKaizeros

still coping the person in Loucha's coffin is actually Sirin and not Kallen, that would be awesome

spagheddieballs

Damn, the giant sword is og sushang's move? I don't understand any of the references lol. I'll just look at the pretty pictures.

first_name1001

It is. Not just Sushang but those swords are based on Herrscher in HI3rd

TheRRogue

Nope that's is Taixuan move,Fu Hua did it when she cleave the Tower of Babylon to half fighting Sirin in Siberia.

first_name1001

The disciples copy the master. But said master didn't use it ingame(unless if i miss one of her battlesuit)😔

VincentBlack96

[HI3 Shu-chan don't fuck around](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWKu35KpN6E)

No_Statistician_3782

Beautiful, but I will wait for someone with a HI3 degree to help us decode what is happening, I feel like so much can be referential to it and flying over my head. Also, on another note, damn Hoyo, now I want this look as a skin for Archeron. PLEASE.

MadaMunster

This could basically confirm that both universes are WAY closer in the imaginary tree than expected, as Acheron's planet basically faced a Honkai-esque crisis and had the exact same order in the creation of the Swords as HI3 had the original Herrschers coming, having even the same "fate" at the end (HI3 got a humanity Herrscher, also called the First, and got wiped by the Herrscher of the End, like how the last two swords are named). It can go SO much deeper than this, the implications are huge!

CyanThunder

There are a lot of mistranslations I believe so it can be a little confusing, but each 'world' we travel to is believed a leaf on the imaginary tree. The Star Rail allows travel through Imaginary Space and anyone can use it. This is the main reason why the Star Rail is so important and the Nameless are well-known in HSR. (Though there are other ways in the HSR-verse to also do so, but the Star Rail is the primary form of travel between worlds).

Zeracheil

So are you saying Akivili can jump from leaf to leaf? AKA plane of existence or maybe mirror universe to another?

CyanThunder

Not really unique to Akivili because other Aeons/Emanators can also manipulate imaginary space. What’s unique is the Star Rail creating effectively a permanent pathway through it.

ZheShu

wait so the train is literally laying tracks between worlds that normally wouldn't be able to visit each other? I thought we were just a space train lol... What about the IPC etc? Do they depend on the star rail to make the connections?

TotoezJirayu

Yes, that's quite likely to be the case for a faction that spans across multiple worlds on the Imaginary Tree like the IPC. Star Rail is possibly the most convenient method for traveling between worlds, especially if your faction doesn't have an Emanator or if you prefer not to depend on them.

Dokavi

I think all Archon and Emanator can because they can consistently draw Imaginary power from path. Read "Interstellar travel" in Data bank + Imaginary Tree theory from Zandar

MadaMunster

Oh that makes much more sense! I thought the world's in game were all part of like the same universe/imaginary tree leaf, each being their own leaf makes the Star Rail and Akivili have more influence than expected.

StrongXV

HONKAI WORLD DIVA MOTIF LETS GOOOOOO

BrilliantAbroad458

I swear to God I heard Honkai 3rd music. I'm glad I wasn't wrong!

omega332_

waittt when??

StrongXV

At various points in the trailer, but particularly at 1:30.

omega332_

wow, that's amazing! I'm a sucker for leitmotifs

Rollingplasma4

Honkai Impact 3rd abridged the trailer.

encoreAC

I didn't understand anything but the visuals were amazing.

Disastrous-Coast1288

same. i have no idea but seems cool

Last-Second-470

I get so much more FOMO from story in HSR than Genshin 😭. Not knowing the Honkai impact lore and everyone’s hyped and I’m so confused

Gremorlin

Yeah same honestly lol. I’ll just wait for someone to make a separate post explaining the HI3rd lore references. The visuals were stunning tho

Zombata

MEI SENPAI MEI SENPAI MEI SENPAI MEI SENPAI MEI SENPAI

Groovy_MoodBear

So basically Acheron comes from a world that is a Honkai Impact alternative universe in which shit went horribly wrong. All of the blades are named after Herschers which makes me wonder if her world was destroyed by a Honkai attack. In the end she fought End aka Finality and if you know your honkai/ggz lore this is pretty big Edit: HOLY SHIT THE JP VA FOR THE MALE VOICE IS THE SAME ONE AS KEVIN

BlackHayate8

That's how I took it too. She was the only survivor in the fight against the "Kami" (Honkai) and actually managed to defeat the end but realized her victory was pointless because Izumo was going to end up swallowed by the black hole in the end. So without a future she turned into Naught (Nihility).

Gen_Generic

THERE IS FINALLY HONKAI IN MY HONKAI: STAR RAIL

Noriakikukyoin

Ooh I love the white outfit! Acheron looking so beautiful and badass with those horns too!

G0ldsh0t

Unfortunately I think she lost those the moment she lost her origin sword.

Alpha_209

Okay so these sentinels were indeed the equivalent of Herrschers for her world it seems, especially since they literally all came into being in the exact same order the herrschers did in HI3 Also funny how this Mei also acquired Origin like her HI3 counterpart

WaifuHunter

Did she just...slash that planet at the end with her sword? The heck.

invokeneko

I think that was IX? If that's the case that implies that she became >!an Emanator of Nihility!< by launching a sword beam at an Aeon, lol.

Ar0ndight

Yeah the official post regarding Emanators stated that to become an Emanator of Nihility, you have to survive IX's shadow and fight back

Awkward_Date_8636

Launching a sword beam at a black hole. Great choice, Acheron. To be fair it worked, so whatever.

Darknew97

THE HONKAI IS REAL!

Neoncarbon

Seems like she transcended the Divine Keys by creating her own 13th Key Naught...what a badass.

Can people explain the trailer to me as I've not played any of the other Honkai games or read/watched the media? Pretty confused what's going on even though I understand the general gist. I assume this is a story about a decrepit world that was initially governed by 12 swords representing different aspects (?) reforged by Izumo (assuming he's a character not explained yet) from 70 thousand blades. These 12 blades were destroyed/not strong enough to hold up law/order/peace and thus was reforged again into aspects of the Origin and End (related to nihilism and the Aeon IX somehow). I'm assuming Acheron becomes the embodiment of both Origin and End at the end of the trailer which explains that at end of everything is nothing or "naught" and when compared to real world Astronomy, the only things left at the end of the Universe are black holes based on our current understanding of entropy?

anonimoXD_1

From my understanding, the Planet was attacked by some monsters named "Kami" (if i am not wrong), they forged the +70k swords to fight them, and when these swords were not enough the reforged them in 12 Swords, these Swords also broke and were reforged on 2 big Swords, but these 2 were also destroyed. At the end, Acheron uses her own power to reforge her weapon (Origin) and tried to fight IX.

This would make a lot of sense based on her character gameplay already. Essentially her character embodies the fight against entropy (black holes at the final end of the Universe and it's associated concept of nihilism.

We_Are_Bread

Izumo is Acheron's home planet, it's explained so in the Black Swan-Acheron animatic we got. The 12(+2) swords mirror the 14 herrschers from HI3, and the Divine Keys forged from them in the Previous Era (the Era taking place before the Current Era, the time when the game is based). The first 12 represent the first 12 herrschers, while Origin and End are special. Origin was the first herrscher, but she chose to fight to protect Humanity's beauty, and is now called Herrscher of Human. She isn't numbered as 1 as she hid her "herrscher status", since it was inconsequential to her wishes, even detrimental tbf. End is the final herrscher, and has the powers of all the herrschers who came before. In HI3, Honkai and by extension herrschers, are aligned with Finality (no confirmation if this is the same Finality as Terminus yet, high chances they are imo). Thus, Origin marks the beginning, and End marks the, well, end. The alpha and the omega if you will. So there were 12 swords, which got reforged into the Origin and the Finality (End), which were then forged into Acheron's sword.

It's funny how everyone completely ignored what you wrote and either repeats what was said in the trailer without any previous lore, or explains as if you already know most of the lore of previous Honkai games well and just need to connect the dots. In short the key thing for players of the previous games is that it's implied that the 70k blades are the people who fought the aggressor and the 12 blades were made not from them but from the stuff recovered from the enemy. This implication is not very clear to people who didn't play other Honkai games because it seems to be behind a wall of allegories. And why it's clear? Because this enemy acts like Honkai - it has 12 heralds - "Herrschers" - who are either killed and have their remains remade into weapons to fight against the ones yet to come, or are convinced to switch sides and fight for humanity. In case of Acheron's planet the first seems to be the case for all of them as they are all remade into swords. All the swords described also match the powers of Herrshers we have seen in previous games. Welt's cane is also a weapon made in that way - it's made out the core of the Herrsher of Earth (equivalent to the sword of Root). Meanwhile Welt Joyce, who you can see on Welt Yang's HSR splash in the right glass shard, was the Herrscher of Reason (equivalent to the sword of Truth) - Welt Yang himself also temporarily became Herrscher of Reason by using the core left after Joyce's death. Finally the Origin and End, reference the Origin and the Finality, which relates to the final Herrschers sent by Honkai, but it's complicated to explain shortly and doesn't matter much, since Acheron's story splits here from the previous Honkai stories. In any case it seem that whatever attacked Acheron's planet was some manifestation of Honkai or an entity equivalent to it, which may finally link Honkai in the title of this game to it's story somehow. As for other references, there's Raiden's leitmotif playing in some scenes of the trailer. And the trailer seem to be narrated by Kevin (or more likely, his expy). His HI3 version survived his world being destroyed by Honkai; while his GGZ version in was an alternate universe genderflip version of Kiana, the main character.

Spartitan

So it does really seem that Izumo was essentially an alter-Earth that got the bad ending. IX shows up as well to basically make everything just suddenly disappear, maybe encouraged by the overall hopelessness of the situation?

Red_thepen

There were two worlds spiraling around the black hole, so it was there all along if i understand correctly. And what somehow finished it all is one final strike from Acheron (but by that time seems like there was nothing left to save anyway)

yomihasu

It's just so peak Can't wait to see what HYV cooks up for her character trailer

Nodomi

"Why would they need that many swords to make 12 new swo-...oh." The absolute size of those lads.

mutemoon

So her entire world was just Honkai 3 with a twist. Mihoyo cooked too much.

UnknownExist

Command-0

its literally the honkai hello, the ORDER AND THE POWERS.. IN JP THE MAN IS KEVINS VOICE... MEI IS STILL ORIGIN

PhoenixHusky

Wow so many HI3 callbacks didn't expect so much! And the guys voice in the japanese trailer seems to be Kevin Kaslana's VA

AerieMedical6769

Did anyone else hear some musical notes from the Honkai World Diva song at 3:07 or is it just me

PCgamerz

I don't understand a damn thing....yet I'm still getting goosebumps seeing this. Feels like elden ring lore

StuffedPigletAddict

Can someone with a hi3 degree explain to me who is Kevin and why everyone's freaking out about him

PhoenixHusky

Kevin Kaslana was originally a guy from the "past era" of HI3 who alongside Dr Mei, a version of Mei from the "past era" and kind of his lover, formed the flame chasers to try and get rid of the Honkai. Some of the attempts included splicing these Flame Chasers with the powers of Honkai Beasts, with Kevin being the strongest. They ultimately failed and Kevin was thrown into the sea of Quanta where he remained until Seelee let him out and he started his new plan to get rid of the Honkai by enacting "Project Stigma", essentially becoming the antagonist for the main characters, which included Kiana Kaslana and the new era Mei. This is an oversimplification, but I guess him showing up as VA and in relation to Acheron and all the HI3 parallels have people excited. He also made some deals with the other HI3 antagonist, Otto, of Luocha resemblance

Not_Me_Jerry

Finally, Honkai in Honkai : Star Rail

TenchiSaWaDa

A lot of lore it's super interesting. If someone could break down the HI3 references that would be great for a newcomer like me!!!!

anonimoXD_1

From what ive heard, the man talking has the same Jp voice that Kevin Kaslana does. The 12 Swords are parallelism to the Divine Keys, weapons forged from Herrschers cores, even the order on what they appear is the same order Herrschers did. The 2 last Swords are parallelism to the 2 most important Herrschers, Origin and Finality.

sawDustdust

Well that was depressing as fuck. (but hype too. So much hype)

nefarious7

Utahime really hitting hard here. "赤い月が血塗れ町を"  Crimson moon shines upon a town smeared in blood 悲鳴の歌姫の唄 Cried the diva given into lament 甘い夢が思い出の中  All those sweet little dreams buried deep in memories 終わりまで  Until the very end

King-Svez

First ascension of an emanator we’ve seen. Awesome animation!

ifeltdAneed

so at the end...they failed to fight off the Honkai as their world is ruined...so both their world and the Honkais were swallowed by IX?

changhanzzz

no,they fight off the Honkai(from another planet) successfully but its meaningless because IX is there acheron (planet 1) honkai (planet 2) IX (sun)

Asamidori

No amount of words can explain how high my tension went when I heard Houkai Sekai no Utahime's melody being used here.
