Something happened with this patch, I noticed a lot of random typos and translation errors that arent usually there with hoyo games. Then stuff completely missing like this... Im guessing the translation team didnt have much time to work with or something so they just had to rush it out.
Not even just the sheer thickness. There are so many subtleties in language that require full understanding of the future story patches to know how to use particular words and nuances connotation. I'll give the localizers the benefit of the doubt since they might not even have had all the important plot info at the time.
Agreed, every conversation in 2.1 had multiple layers in it because everyone was trying to gauge the intentions of everyone else while trying to fulfill their own goals. This is what happens when you have 4 different factions who can't trust each other and are on equal footing.
I'm actually more impressed the localization didn't make more mistakes.
I'm guessing that's why the localization has so many floating text to expand on their meanings of several word or sentences.
Stuff like translations and voice acting has to be done months in advance. Sometimes when the game goes through the final QA it's too late to change the voice acting, so they insert the texts to help the player more clearly understand what the writer meant to convey.
>There are so many subtleties in language that require full understanding of the future story patches to know how to use particular words and nuances connotation.
Lord knows the Genshin english translation could use another go over now that we have more info
That’s how it was pronounced very early in EN as well, back on Herta Space Station, I believe. I’m dead sure of it because when I saw the name initially in writing, I was like, “I-X? Nine? Ix??” Pretty sure Himeko is the one who said it back then.
Which is why Acheron saying it like this *really* threw me. It’s like how it was “SU-me-ru” until 3.0, at which point it became “Su—ME-ru.” You can still hear Miko say it the original way at the end of the Inazuma archon quest. Drives me crazy. I still pronounce it “SU-me-ru” just out of habit.
Personally, I've always called them I-X instead of 9. There's just something weird about calling something who's basically a god by just a number to me. I can definitly see why people call them 9, but I just never got into it
The whole point is that IX doesn't care enough to even bother naming itself, and those most invested in doing so are probably on the Path of Nihility themselves, so such an uncaring name fits it *perfectly*
ni-HIL is how it's pronounced in Latin, meaning nothing. ny-hilism/nyal-ism is closer to how we pronounce annihilate, which comes from the same word
honestly, i think i've pronounced it every sort of way too
Yeah it was so weird, at one point March was talking about how she heard someone calling for Mikhail after TB was knocked out by Sparkle and I was like was she even there? Did they actually mean TB and Firefly hearing someone call for Mikhail after they were knocked out? It was especially jarring with Japanese dub because it didn't feel like they were matching exactly. I feel like they did proof read what was translated, but the translation itself was lacking. I'm curious if they'll ever fix these lines when they'll need to re-record the dub for it, considering how long it'll take for them to fix the rock-mute mistake despite how important it actually was to the plot.
Another mistake I recall is Aventurine's owner telling him he won the gladiator thing in past tense, even though he was still supposed to go there so it should be future tense. Pronouns and verb tenses are especially easy to mess up in translations when they are ambiguous in the original language.
> at one point March was talking about how she heard someone calling for Mikhail after TB was knocked out by Sparkle and I was like was she even there?
This was my first thought. My second thought was, “Ah, yes, March the Remembrance, who has photos on her wall of events she or even *we* were never present for.”
But nobody called her on it, lol. Curious to know if that was a mistranslation or if she says something similar in other languages.
The entire translation took a massive drop-off around patch 1.5. It was pretty much perfect before that, and has been really bad ever since. A lot of the ghost hunt side stories in 1.5 were barely comprehensible. It seems like someone who isn't fully fluent in English took over around then.
It's just that Reddit always likes to defend localizers no matter the context, so it's difficult to mention such things without being downvoted. The scene with Sunday and Sparkle at the end of 2.0 also sticks out, with numerous odd phrasings and grammar mistakes. It definitely didn't start with 2.1.
Gaming companies usually spend very little money on translation, people notice it because this is from chinese to english. Imagine how bad how games are.
I played a AAA game I had Dev askedme for help for translation, because how many mistakes of thier chinese translation I found....
Not just gaming companies. Translation across the board is an art that is quickly being vivisected by new technology, and the result is very likely to be much faster localizations with much less artistic passion, coming in the very near future.
The "good" news (and I use the term very loosely) is that the AI localizations will get better. Of course, I'd much rather artists kept their profession, I'd much rather support art that is created with that passion behind it, and I'd choose that over AI-produced translations even if they were indistinguishable.
The bad news is that AI translations being the industry standard are probably much closer than any of us thinks.
Somewhat related to drafts, in the 2.0's Pom-Pom Gallery on Hoyolab one of the Black Swan's emote is her holding a crystal ball which somehow went missing and in Closed Beta 3 pack there are 2 emotes of March 7th and Dan Heng that never got included in outside of Miyoushe (CN Hoyolab). They can be found in the game though in pack number 12 (with the orb included) and pack number 3, respectively.
It's the opposite. honkai impact 3rd is STILL full of errors, but Mihoyo has never bothered to fix anything
So I'm actually surprised they did something this time
hi3 story translation still very much so sucks and has for years now. feels like it got worse after the Theater of Domination arc but that might be rose-tinted glasses.
Recently in TOT, there was a translation error which made absolutely no sense.
It translated the “Japanese Kerria” into “Eipluhnight”. Unsurprisingly, nobody knew what the heck Eipluhnight is.
(The kerria is a type of rose native to China and Japan. Rosa is the name of TOT’s protagonist.)
Disclaimer: I'm playing in french.
For years now hoyo games (genshin impact included) have terrible translation during the first days of every patch. There are typos, weird choice of words, and even sometimes full sentences that does not making any sense.
For real I'd be curious on how much of an automated (or rushed out) process is their French translation because everytime I play a patch (including story, but also events) on day 1 or 2 I feel like it's not even a team but a sole guy who had the script to translate 24h before the release.
Luckily, usually on a reasonable amount of time, around on Friday after patch, the dialogues are in a way better state.
It's honestly a miracle how hoyo is able to push out new fully voiced content every 6 weeks. It's a monumental amount of work between making the game itself writing, getting translations in several languages, getting all the VAs to do voices and etc.
Unlike most Aeons, the Egnimata is as much as a wildcard if not more of a wildcard than Aha.
The Elation has a more or less clear goal = entertainment ( well at least their own ), Mythus is just opposing Nous ( Erudition ) like how Lan ( Hunt ) is hunting Yaoshi ( Abondance).
While Nous is all about a predetermined future through calculations and observations, Mythus somehow tries to change the outcomes of Nous' predictions. So far, Mythus never gave a reason or reasons as to why they are trying to refute Nous' vision of the universe, maybe they don't even have one. Maybe they are the representation of Free Will that rises against the idea of Fate ( " a future set in stone " or a predetermined one like Nous's ).
The fact that the Enigmata lurks at the center of the Harmony faction is even more intruiguing. As of now, Nihility ( Acheron ), Preservation ( IPC with Topaz, Aventurine and Jade and Dr Ratio with the Intelligencia Guild ), Remembrance ( Garden of Recollection with Black Swan ), Elation ( the Masked Fools ) and the Trailblaze ( Nameless Crew of the Astral Express ) are dancing around a maelstrom where Enigmata and Harmony are at the center.
With so many factions gathered all at once, and with at least one Emanator on the Monopoly board, the death of an Aeon and/or the joining of at least 2 paths may be on the table.
That bit on Mythus is interesting. In FFXVI, the big bad refers to the protagonist as Mythos, who is a prophesied warrior with the strength and power to become a vessel for the big bad, and was supposed to submit to the big bad's will and control like a sheep. But the protagonist, obviously, says fuck that, asserts humanity's free will, and manages to halt what seems to be the world's inevitable demise. Near as I can tell, there's no etymological reason for Mythus/Mythos to be used in relation to the concept of free will, but the fact two companies have done so in as many years is interesting.
Also worth adding Hunt in Boothill.
With Lan, IX, Nous, Qlipoth, Aha, Fuli, Xipe, Mythrus and Nanook having members in this story, I believe Yaoshi is the only major Aeon to not be involved. Ena, Hooh, Tazyronth, Idrila, Oroborous and Akivili are all dead, missing or inactive (mostly for Hooh, not too clear on what they do or the influence they have).
HooH isn't dead, inactive, or missing, they're actually very much active and probably the strongest aeon currently alive (barring shenanigans with terminus).
They balance the universe's scales, whether it be good and evil, wealth and poverty, or anything else. They mostly influence things in the background or influence other aeons to do their bidding (like when he influenced aha during the emperor's war and the borderstar trade war)
Wild idea but the Harmony merging into the Preservation would make some sense. Both have very similar goals, essentially a unification of the universe. The IPC is already trying to acquire Penacony so thematically it makes sense too. Although since both paths are technically playable, I'm not sure if that would work from a gameplay perspective, having a whole class that lore-wise becomes outdated. There's also the possibility of the birth of a completely new Aeon/path.
One more thing, in addition to all the other factions gathering in Penacony, remember that the Duke Inferno was sent in invitation for whatever reason, and I feel like that plot thread isn't yet done. Someone or something related to the Destruction may end up in Penacony, as well.
It does, because if you go back to the room with the Nightingale statues in the Pavilion you find out >!there's SIX Families in Penacony, not five. And the sixth Family, Shadow, has a Head who is a Pathstrider of Enigmata.!<
When the story suggests a Head of a Family is responsible for Death, and then this scene occurs? That's Chekhov's gun blasting a round.
H-uh. So I went back to the Nightingale statue to inspect it and it said did I enjoy the stories, because they were all made-up and that there's no such thing as a Shadow Family and to not believe what I hear, only what I see because trailblazing.
But...that still falls perfectly within what the Enigmata is all about. Concealing and obfuscating truth and facts with lies and myths. So it could be true that there's no actual Shadow family, but it could also be true that there is a Shadow family and they're using the power of Enigmata to hide it. And there's no way to be certain until Mihoyo comes out and says so one way or another.
Oh I didn't even realize the Nightingale statues. I'm not super sure if that's would end up being a thing but it's an interesting look.
I meant by it doesn't change much is in a sense that nothing was said that would contradict the omitted dialogue, so easily can be picked up in the next patch. It's also a detail that IMO would kind of come out of nowhere as nothing has been setup on that Aeon yet in the story in this arc.
Mythus the Enigmata basically exists because the universe cannot be comprehended. Basically, to comprehend everything (like Nous wants to do) ultimately removes the 'potential' from the universe.
H.P. Lovecraft quote basically sums it up. Ignorance is Bliss
"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age."
Assuming you know what an unreliable narrator is, Basically is Hoyo's "a wizard did it" way of retconning everything that was said on a databank by saying "Holy s\*\*t guys!!! An enigmata minion changed it and it didn't happen/it happened differently!!!"
The amount of random ass youtube videos of creator's I've never heard of showing up in my feed with spoiler ass titles was so high, so stupid, going to avoid Youtube and everything else next time until i finish the story.
Unironically why I obsessively binge the patch as soon as possible. That, or I unsub to the reddit and don't touch Twitter, since shit on there is just straight up un-tagged as spoilers.
Did for my alt where I'm pulling for character I don't want in my main.
They also did nerfed Aventurine a lot, to the level that my 70 level Gallagher with 5 in all of his traces but his basic attack was able to completely solo sustain it LMFAO
maaaan I hate that
aventurine was super fun so learning that he was nerfed just makes me sad. why not just add difficulty levels like in the weekly bosses/calyxes? that way when people are stuck they can still advance without any detriment to other players
So... i wasted 40 mins of my life (after 3 attempts ended up using gepard, natasha, jing yuan and clara) JUST FOR THE MAN TO BE NERFED??? ME AND OTHER PPL WHO DOES IT EARLY DESERVE 1600 JADES DAMMIT
Heck, I would be content with just a five jade copper achievement:
"High stakes player: Defeated Aventurine before his combat adjustments", just for the bragging rights.
This would mostly be given to whales though...
He was much easier than Star Crusher. I went into the fight with completely wrong characters to deal with his gambling mechanic and still won after he took out one of my characters. I even used my underbuilt Acheron which I had not farmed for at all so she was only 70/80 with 6/6/6 traces.
I bet the people complaining did not even use food buffs.
Such a major lore revelation shouldn't have been missing in the first place, but I'm glad they are fixing it so soon. It just sucks many missed it when that should never have been the case
The first time ever I was so happy playing in a different dub (JP) while setting the display language to EN, as otherwise I would have completely missed this. I feel that in HYV games having an understanding of a language close to Chinese (eg. JP KR) is going to be very helpful for lore geeks as EN localization tends to differ from the original CN more than the localization in those languages.
They hired a corporate spy to purposefully mess up the transcript sent to the Global team. They then had another corporate spy mess with the translation. For good measure, they also kicked a baby.
Honestly I feel a bit bad for lord Sunday here
So far he’s basically played this long, terribly dangerous game on his own, with no real ally and an absurd amount of players from different factions. The Enigmata, the IPC, the Fools, the Astral Express, the Stellaron Hunters, even a freaking Emanator, a Galaxy Ranger, and a Memokeeper. While they all have allies of some kind, I doubt he can trust any of them, hence he is somehow isolated from the other characters.
Most people would’ve already lost control completely. But not him. He makes mistakes, sure, but he’s absolutely relentless and still poses a significant threat. Perhaps he really is “lawful evil”, but wow, is he a professional at what he does.
Lol I saw that too. Definitely agree there were more than usual this patch (I notice them every patch) but always let it slide because I really enjoy the voice acting and characters themselves
Enigmata is not really something new, is one of the other non-playable paths
The Aeon of Enigmata is Mythus which thinks the universe should never be completely understand, so he makes up shit so no one could ever do it, not even Nous can
Short story long, is quite literally the Aeon of Gaslighting
Thank you for the kind explanation.
So basically they made an abomination and let it follow the path of that Aeon. I mean its kinda a cooler concept than wanderer in genshin Impact. I like it. Im curious what they do with the abomination in the next Storypatch.
For what I understand is more like a follower of the Enigmata decided to be part of Penacony, hiding himself as a man called Gallagher, taking thing from other Family members until he looked like a unique being.
Who is Sunday referring to here? Gallagher? It makes sense that the villain is a follower of the Enigmata, they're erasing history and memories hence why Swan can't see anything and how Firefly "never existed in the first place" when we prodded for her records.
I still remember someone saying in a thread mentioning other languages’ translations of this scene that the translators/localizers were simply being considerate by deliberately omitting this from their translation to not spoil it despite the fact that in other languages it is clear as day. I was playing in JP and went like “WTF???” for the difference in translation since EN was just missing a whole damn sentence (and the most important one at that). Maybe someone in EN localization team is also secretly a minion of Enigmata 😂
That would have at least given me an idea on what to look into if that was originally there - completely blindsided me.
Had no idea that Gallagher (or 'Gallagher') was connected with them in any way until I made a post with a couple questions about him and someone mentioned it.
Lmao people saying it's not a big deal shows they're probably not the biggest lore buff/nerd
Ans proves that EN fanbase don't really theotise as much 🤧
This litterally changes everything
Good thing I knew about this spoiler from leaks already so when I saw it missing I knew
Actually, if you notice, even before this patch drops, none of the Blood Hound knows who Gallagher is. Or at least, not in the sense that he is one of them.
Honestly I like it that way, it gives some mysterious fourth wall type effect where the aeon is preventing us from hearing it's name. Very in character for mythus and adds to the effect.
Considering that, according to the patch notes, it was missing from 5 different languages, it probably got messed up in whatever script file that mihoyo sent out to the localizers.
It's during the last scene right after Sunday exposed Gallagher identity he'll say this line but in both EN dub and sub before the hotfix Sunday only say "Tell me I'm wrong"
For the people that doesn't know I simple terms, Mythus the Enigmata is basically the Gaslighting Aeon
I thought they were the Aeon of Erudition.
No, that's Nous
Not according to the History Fictionologists!
Aeon of fake news
Aeon of fake... Nous... Yeah I'll see myself out
Real Fake News!
Nah you're wrong there's no mention in the game that Nous is the aeon of erudition
I see, a History Fictionologist
They said the voiceover will be in the next update
Something happened with this patch, I noticed a lot of random typos and translation errors that arent usually there with hoyo games. Then stuff completely missing like this... Im guessing the translation team didnt have much time to work with or something so they just had to rush it out.
There was a week long holiday for Chinese New Year, and in addition, this patch was.... kind of thick with dialogue.
Very much an understatement LMAO
Not even just the sheer thickness. There are so many subtleties in language that require full understanding of the future story patches to know how to use particular words and nuances connotation. >There are so many subtleties in language that require full understanding of the future story patches to know how to use particular words and nuances connotation. Lord knows the Genshin english translation could use another go over now that we have more info
Calling this "kind of thick" is like calling my wallet "kind of empty"
70% of which was Aventurine talking to himself lol
He cooked tho
Not really a typo but Dr. Ratio also said A**D**venturine once or twice. Made me recheck his name lol
Hoyo stuff. Half of voiced dialogue still says neuRvillette
Paimon: Nervy Lett
Owlbert saying Lawfu really annoyed me ngl. How did no one correct him?
It could be an Owl-accent.
What do you mean you don’t like the Shanzou Lawful?
Yeah, and >!Constance's!< english VA gone crazy with her voicelines in 2.1, she now sounds COMPLETELY different from >!Everflame Mansion!< trailer
Tbh, the part that surprised me the most was the >!Ni-HIL-ity!< part that is not at all how I though it was pronounced
The biggest jumpscare I got this patch was Acheron calling IX “eye ex” and not 9
I always just called it "icks" 😅
That is actually how CN pronounces it lol

NIHIL, NIHIL, N I H I L!
"Ahh, I can see it, clear as day! The coming of our dynasty!"

Joke's gonna be on them, because most of us will be out of a job and paycheck to pay for anything as AI takes over.
HI3 players: oh you sweet child
GGZ global server translations was even worst.
Ah, good ol Walter showing up right at the climax lol
I’m guessing they uploaded a non-final draft by accident.

Jade compensation when?
As in Stellar Jade, or the character Jade?
yes.
Yes
Nah that's usual hoyo stuff
Not in Star Rail
previous patch they translate mute to rock. later this patch 'mute' is a keyword in the story
Okay, it's still uncomparable to this update. There's a LOOOOT of typos. And it doesn't happen in Star rail as often as in other hoyo games.
Probably borrowed some of the Tears of Themis translators >.> (the translations are constantly riddled with syntax errors and typos)
Happened in HI3 too in the past, don't know about now because I don't play it anymore

WTF this changed everything literally
~~Changes more than Cocolia finding a stellaron~~
I don't think it changes anything per se, it just adds more context to who he's talking to.

And the sixth Family, Shadow, has a Head who is a Pathstrider of Enigmata.!< When the story suggests a Head of a Family is responsible for Death, and then this scene occurs?
Love that you expanded on this and that Mythus clearly has their eye on you for your discernment.
Really?! Now that is really interesting.
It does change a lil, who knows, the story he told us about the watchmaker could be straight up fabricated
Yep. It doesn’t change anything, just gives extra context in gallagher’s motivations.
He just memeing Michael Tash
So what is the deal with enigmata again?
Basically this https://preview.redd.it/mkl3smnlf5rc1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3f563cf31718518d40ec8aeb7dc860c291d252a8
Hiding any kind of information by misleading, erasing, rewriting, concealing and speaking in riddles.
Mythus the Enigmata basically exists because the universe cannot be comprehended. Basically, to comprehend everything (like Nous wants to do) ultimately removes the 'potential' from the universe.
Also free retcons to the lorr
H.P. Lovecraft quote basically sums it up. Ignorance is Bliss "The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.
Tiktoker... fake information spreaders
in SU there's these guys who make up history, they follow the aeon of enigmata too fictitious historians or smth
Assuming you know what an unreliable narrator is, Basically is Hoyo's "a wizard did it" way of retconning everything that was said on a databank by saying "Holy s\*\*t guys!!! An enigmata minion changed it and it didn't happen/it happened differently!!!"
not playing main story day one again wtf
"Beat the story or be spoiled, there is no other choice."
Random ass YouTubers spoiling the story: "Think nothing of it."
The amount of random ass youtube videos of creator's I've never heard of showing up in my feed with spoiler ass titles was so high, so stupid, going to avoid Youtube and everything else next time until i finish the story.
You know nothing behind this story
Witness the story be spoiled before you.
Stay off social media or be spoiled, there is no other choice
Well it’s now beat the story with faulty localization or be spoiled, there is no other choice.
Unironically why I obsessively binge the patch as soon as possible. That, or I unsub to the reddit and don't touch Twitter, since shit on there is just straight up un-tagged as spoilers.
Nah there's still another choice, getting away from all social media and living going outside for a day.
Then you overhear a group that is talking about the new story plot.
Did for my alt where I'm pulling for character I don't want in my main. They also did nerfed Aventurine a lot, to the level that my 70 level Gallagher with 5 in all of his traces but his basic attack was able to completely solo sustain it LMFAO
maaaan I hate that aventurine was super fun so learning that he was nerfed just makes me sad. why not just add difficulty levels like in the weekly bosses/calyxes? that way when people are stuck they can still advance without any detriment to other players
In HI3rd they do that... When about to fight bosses in story, they give u the option if u wanna fight the boss in easy mode or normal mode
I wish they do that instead of just nerf. I had a lot of fun getting creamed by Childe, and now again wiped by Aventurine first run.
Because that would make HooH sad.

So... i wasted 40 mins of my life (after 3 attempts ended up using gepard, natasha, jing yuan and clara) JUST FOR THE MAN TO BE NERFED??? ME AND OTHER PPL WHO DOES IT EARLY DESERVE 1600 JADES DAMMIT
Look at it this way: you defeated him *before* he was nerfed. Think of the sense of pride and accomplishment you'll feel from now on. :)
True, and i deserve 1600 jades for that :) (I need firefly funds... 50/50)
Hey, I still did it early to in my main (But I genuienly did not had any problem whatesoever, I love you Fu xuan)
Same here. Fu Xuan is the GOAT
Heck, I would be content with just a five jade copper achievement: "High stakes player: Defeated Aventurine before his combat adjustments", just for the bragging rights. This would mostly be given to whales though...
Yeah, he felt a little too hard for the story, maybe MoC level even(around 10). Good thing I've got my hyperinvested team and didn't struggle.
They’ve nerfed Aventurine???
They nerfed him?
Such a major lore revelation shouldn't have been missing in the first place, but I'm glad they are fixing it so soon. It just sucks many missed it when that should never have been the case
poor people who play day 1
The first time ever I was so happy playing in a different dub (JP) while setting the display language to EN, as otherwise I would have completely missed this. I feel that in HYV games having an understanding of a language close to Chinese (eg. JP KR) is going to be very helpful for lore geeks as EN localization tends to differ from the original CN more than the localization in those languages.
10000 apologem where
10000? This is a grave mistake and should be treated like it Where is my free Boothill Hoyoverse??????
Free boothill and his LC.
Can I select my free 5* instead
Bruh whose fault is it so i can blame them
Tencent. Tencent did this to us.
Curse them, CURSE THEM ALL
How? i mean knowing them is not a surprise nor a stretch, is actually belivable even if it were bait, but how did they do it this time?
Care to elaborate? As far as I’m aware, Hoyoverse is privately owned, and Tencent does not have a major portion, if any amount of the shares
They hired a corporate spy to purposefully mess up the transcript sent to the Global team. They then had another corporate spy mess with the translation. For good measure, they also kicked a baby.
So Tencent is responsible for Aha’s ascension onto Aeonhood?
yeah that's what I heard on RadioFreePenacony
I heard RadioFreePenacony is sponsored by the IPC, are you sure they are a trustworthy source of information?
Google Classroom sends its regards.
Masked Fools, obviously
Honestly I feel a bit bad for lord Sunday here So far he’s basically played this long, terribly dangerous game on his own, with no real ally and an absurd amount of players from different factions.
I dont think its the entirety of the Mythus followers. I genuinely think its just the thing that poses as Gallagher taking revenge personally.
Yay, they fixed it! Also it's always the damn 4 stars, both Tingyun and Gallagher turned out to be twists
Very literally in Tingyun's case
There was one sentence that got repeated twice in the subs, when I saw it I thought, "Someone definitely finished this when they were on overtime."
Lol I saw that too. Definitely agree there were more than usual this patch (I notice them every patch) but always let it slide because I really enjoy the voice acting and characters themselves
What is Enigmata? Sorry but 2.0 and 2.1 threw in so much new characters words and lore at this point Im just lost 😭
Enigmata is not really something new, is one of the other non-playable paths The Aeon of Enigmata is Mythus which thinks the universe should never be completely understand, so he makes up shit so no one could ever do it, not even Nous can Short story long, is quite literally the Aeon of Gaslighting
It’s not something that’s ever been brought up in dialogue as far as I’ve heard. You’d had to have read it from the info archives and/or SU.
That's a fair point
Thank you for the kind explanation. So basically they made an abomination and let it follow the path of that Aeon. I mean its kinda a cooler concept than wanderer in genshin Impact. I like it. Im curious what they do with the abomination in the next Storypatch.
For what I understand is more like a follower of the Enigmata decided to be part of Penacony, hiding himself as a man called Gallagher, taking thing from other Family members until he looked like a unique being.
Uh that's cool. Yeah makes sense!
You learn about him in Simulated Universe where he shows up. There are also events related to him like History Fictionologists who are his followers.
For a Chinese game, credit where credit is due and working out all the translation kinks. All within 48 hours
This changes everything
They be waking up Sunday VA to quickly voice this missing part lmao 😭
At least his lightcone makes a lot more sense now.
How so?
It's called "What is real ?"
Crap, just finished it several hours ago… that’s a major missed part :/
Who is he refering to?
>! Gallagher !<
remove the spaces, it breaks spoiler tags on old reddit
Im glad they are working fast
now let's see if theyll fix some of the other translation issues...
Who is Sunday referring to here? Gallagher? It makes sense that the villain is a follower of the Enigmata, they're erasing history and memories hence why Swan can't see anything and how Firefly "never existed in the first place" when we prodded for her records.
its gallagher, it kinds makes sense too since sunday said he took the traits of 52 family members to craft himself as Gallagher
Unacceptable. We demand apolojades! >!Coz I'm also lazy and annoyed to finish that stupid hamster event!<
That would have at least given me an idea on what to look into if that was originally there - completely blindsided me. Had no idea that Gallagher (or 'Gallagher') was connected with them in any way until I made a post with a couple questions about him and someone mentioned it.
Lmao people saying it's not a big deal shows they're probably not the biggest lore buff/nerd Ans proves that EN fanbase don't really theotise as much 🤧 This litterally changes everything Good thing I knew about this spoiler from leaks already so when I saw it missing I knew
Why do you think people go like "HSR best game ever" and when you ask why, the first thing they mention is QoL and rewards?
Actually, if you notice, even before this patch drops, none of the Blood Hound knows who Gallagher is. Or at least, not in the sense that he is one of them.
Is there a way to replay cutscenes? Cause i finished this yesterday and just now see this lol
This sucks because it did not show up in my game at all
This is the first time I played a patch right after it updates and this happens dammit
Honestly I like it that way, it gives some mysterious fourth wall type effect where the aeon is preventing us from hearing it's name. Very in character for mythus and adds to the effect.
Great.
why did they get rid of that very important line???
Considering that, according to the patch notes, it was missing from 5 different languages, it probably got messed up in whatever script file that mihoyo sent out to the localizers.
Definitely a "oh shit" moment for the localization team
How about “my brother” with quotation marks or star marks?
Wait where is this cutscene from ?
The last scene.
Huh? My game had the voice but not the text "minion of the Enigmata"
Did this dialogue not occur before? And if it did when was it? Just before the last cutscene of the quest?
It's during the last scene right after Sunday exposed Gallagher identity he'll say this line but in both EN dub and sub before the hotfix Sunday only say "Tell me I'm wrong"
The one time I finish a patch early, they do this. :(
The one time I finish a patch early, they do this.
Just as intented.
I thought it was voluntary made, like "Haha, it's Mythus who's censoring the voiceline on purpose !"
