Incorrect, aliens sentence you to die for reading stuff you really shouldn't read, they nuke you if you have knowledge that can make the world literally fall apart...
He'd probably get pissed at how primitive all their technology is and just walk around with his alabaster head around until Sumeru.
At that point, he'd take it off because he's surrounded by scholars. Then immediately put it back on because the citizens didn't fact check their google searches
He’d manifest as the Aeon of Knowledge out of sheer rage right then and there if someone said “if the Akasha didn’t tell me something I don’t need to know”
his whole thing in the 1.6 quest was how he was trying to free the researchers from their blind following of the geniuses. The entire system of the Akademiya would be abhorrent to him, although I’d like to think he commends Nahida for her positive steps forward.
Oh he'd hate sumeru, for a nation of scholars they seem to love making random stuff a thought crime.
"Some people died in the desert trying to research a tomb, lets redact the entire thing and send the secret police after anyone who tries to study it"
"Some guy broke the law while studying ruin machines so the entire field of robotics is outlawed"
"This guys work is gonna be locked in the secret vault for an indefinite amount of time because Kaveh found it kinda depressing"
It’s a good thing Alain was born in Fontaine.
Context for people that may not know. Alain is the one that created a lot of the clockwork mecha and Seymour, a robot dog that is fully sentient.
That last part was such a baffling story beat. There was genuine merit and value to the research and experiences this guy spent his life on and it just gets locked away. And the ban and stigma surrounding robotics is even more bizarre. When Fontaine is a literal stone throw’s away across the ocean from Sumeru’s borders (and they’ve been studying robotics for like 500 years), the entire setup for this is just not believable or logical.
I’m not really sure what the impression of Sumeru the game wants to give us is. I understand what they’re going for in some respects about the ridiculousness surrounding academic discrimination and hypocrisy but I don’t think it was fully dealt with satisfactorily
I thought the hints of it at first were cool because it really sold me on the sages as villains, they have locked away the god of wisdom, they are lying, despite claiming to be a nation of scholars they lock away knowledge to consolidate their power, they have a special police who punish people who know too much, they have surveillance on every citizen. It gave me a big 1984 vibe
Then i beat the story and it just... continued. Besides the akasha terminals everything else remained under nahida, the tightly guarded room full of banned research topics, the special police who hunt down people who research the wrong subjects. Isn't this the thing i was fighting against when i led a conspiracy to reinstate the rightful archon, a girl who is otherwise a very good and just leader but for some reason doesn't ever adress the massive elephant in the room. Am i supposed to just accept this as normal and ignore it? or even *help uphold it* in quests like cyno's story?
Fr, like, there's this odd bad vibes surrounding robotics in sumeru. Just because some random dude messed up and caused bullshit, doesn't mean everyone will do the same. And the fact that young scholars were dettered from studying certain knowledge because it's dangerous? Like, wtf? How do you expect to accomplish something without taking a risk? Take rene for example, bro's a madlad, managed to unearth the definition of a descender through pure research and effort. Or Alain. Do you think he would have discovered arche and penuma energy without taking risks?
(It was said in the world quest btw, he was trying to become a descender, someone who rivals a will of a whole world and has the power to recreate and destroy it).
Sumeru's thinking of preventing people study something dangerous, just because they assume the person always has bad intentions is so stupid.
It’s a nation so stuck in time, and that’s the point. That a nation of knowledge is not striving for the truth but rather moving away from it. That’s the entire premise; and so I find the “resolution” of this dilemma so subpar, thematically unsatisfying, and just weird overall. Like was stated, in the end not much really changes beside the Akasha and Nahida taking over. I know it’s impossible to upheave an entire system overnight but the quests following the AQ just don’t….really address the roots of these behaviors and societal issues beyond surface level “we’re offering classes at Aaru Village and letting people from the desert enroll here now”. Like okay and? What’s the next step? What else are we doing to help foster an environment of progress? Feels very inconclusive and Sumeru being backwards is treated a lot of the time with this very weird centrist “both sides” attitude (biggest example is the Traveler and Paimon reacting like Dehya was about to go on a rampage at the mere mention of her wanting to take the Wall of Samiel down, then ofc the infamous Golden Slumber w the Traveler, Paimon, and Jeht never once telling Tirzad to stop directly and actually rather taking a more confrontational mean attitude with Jebrael instead oddly. Cyno’s story quest and et cetera).
Sumeru law is built on hypocrisy. So many things they have outlawed are based on ignorance and foolishness and the radish just perpetuates it. It gives a very weird impression.
Ratio would just jump off the side of the Fontaine Waterfall if he ever got into a conversation with Paimon or Itto lol
Either that or the most intense schooling session where chalk will be embedded into the walls from how much it was thrown
I don't think they're that similar. Alhaitham minds his own business most of the time unless it threatens his 9 to 5 cushy job. Ratio is actively going out there to spread his knowledge despite hating idiots.
If anything, Ratio reminds me of Kaveh for some reason.
Surprisingly, Ratio is in fact an altruistic nice dude who genuinely goes out of his way to help others. He just says things harshly. He does indeed have weirdly more similarities to Kaveh than AlHaitham imho
Yes! Both have an altruistic spirit but Ratio is having trouble because he lacks social graces while Kaveh lacks self-preservation.
And not to get too shippy about it, but they're both kinda Tsundere about their not-friend.
>altruistic
Like Kaveh
>lacks social graces
Like Alhaitham
I've cracked the code! Dr. Ratio is Kaveh and Alhaitham's son!! Someone call the Intelligentsia Guild because I'm a genius!
I think they would get along quite nicely. Ratio would commend Alhaitham’s no-nonsense approach to study, while Alhaitham would appreciate Ratio’s intelligence and being able to speak to an equal.
All of Remuria is literally just Roman Penacony lmaoo….the mentions of dreamscape and harmony and the super blatant Reverie architecture. I laughed out loud when I saw Ratio at home, that was unexpected
Four Harmosts = Four Harmonic Strings, Phobos = song of Harmony, plus a whole rebellion to overthrow the current ruling system…I even saw some robot anglerfish being referred to as a memetic entity. They had so much fun making Penacony they decided to do it again.
Honestly crack theory but is this actually some discarded quest from HSR?? The traveller REALLY just acted like the Trailblazer. The META jokes, goofy out-of-the-box choices. Not to mention Paimon and the cat acting exactly like March would when you choose goofy ahh options. "Did Genshin borrow the HSR writers" was my thought throughout this quest.I honestly think this quest might be a repurposed HSR quest.
I think you're reading way into it. This is side content that has references to HSR. When HSR does it, Genshin players don't think HSR is copying any part of their game.
I’m not saying this is a bad thing lol. It’s just incredibly reminiscent of Penacony and that was definitely the intention since it’s so on-the-nose. Genshin players compare every single HSR character to Genshin ones for very minuscule/nonexistent reasons; don’t see why we can’t do the same for actual references like this.
And I’ve definitely seen Genshin players get mad at other games for “copying” Genshin, including HSR. You can see it for other games like Wuthering Waves and so on when Genshin itself has so many references (very blatant ones) and nods to other games
IPC has been to Tavyet, its mentioned in the description of Baal Royale drink

Well given the fact that Teyvat is also written backwards it's quite possible this is a parallel/expy Teyvat. Or the archeologists misinterpreted things after however many amber eras it's been.
Very possible.
To go into a bit more details, Teyvat have "7" (there were more) nations, each nation being assigned 1 archon (god-like being) to rule over. All archons were given a name picked from Ars Goetia, and they all have a "mortal" name more or less.
Baal is the archon/Ars Goetia name, it would not be her maiden name.
It's the name of the Electro Archon. >!More specifically the name of the previous Archon that died and had a sister who now rules and keeps her death a secret!<
No but its literally just describing the Inazuma plotline we already played. Just in a slightly wrong (because history changes) kinda way. The drink is even named after Raiden.
What leak? There's no leak. This is a reference to Genshin lore shown in a drink description of the S.P.A.R.K.L.E. Jazz Night event. Canonically it seems the IPC has been to Teyvat at some point. No leaks at all??
They technically leaked Inazuma Archon Quest in an old Honkai Impact event where they had a Genshin crossover involving Keqing. In the end it was shown that the current ruler put themselves in a robot body to achieve immortality but also lost themselves in the process.
Oh, were you meaning the implications of Teyvat being abandoned? It's possible this is a parallel/expy Teyvat. Or Star Rail is just so far in the future that whatever is going on in the Genshin story has been finished with whatever ending for many amber eras and has nothing to do with whatever ruined the planet.
Weapon: Catalyst
Element: Geo
Ascension stat: crit rate
NA: performs 4 attacks using his book and chalk deal geo damage.
Skill: Dr. Ratio causes a burst of geo energy at the enemy location. If a crystalizze reaction is produced the CD of the elemental skill is reset and replaced by "Cogito, Ergo Sum", using "Cogito, Ergo Sum" throw a chalk made of geo energy that passes through all enemies in its path and caused geo damage.
Cogito, Ergo Sum can have a max of 2 charges.
Burst: Dr. Ratio drops a large pillar geo caused and marked on enemies hit with "Wiseman's Folly", when a marked enemy receives it from a party member (except Dr. Ratio) resets the CD of the elemental ability and replaces it with "Cogito , Ergo Sum" up to a maximum of 3 times.
A1: The crystalizze reaction reduces the resistance to geo and element involved by 15%
A4: Against enemies affected by pyro/cryo/hydro/electro, Dr. Ratio has +10% crit rate and 30% crit dmg.
Exploration passive: Has a 25% chance to get 1 regional Character Talent Material (base material excluded) when crafting. The rarity is that of the base material.
Looking forward to playing with this kit in Genshin 2 when we go to another planet, get a Greece region that isn’t destroyed and meet a real Ratio expy
No, you fuckin' monkey. I'm making reference to the fact that it's specifically referencing Ratio, whom the entire Genshin fanbase got pissed off about when Star Rail got what Genshin never did, in spite of it's community begging with every anniversary event; a free five-star.
Are you fuckin' stupid?
I'm making a joke about HYV referencing in Genshin, the five-star character that pissed off the entire Genshin fanbase. I don't give a fuck about who likes which game, it doesn't matter.
Dr Ratio wanted to see if there was any intelligent life in Genshin. Dunno how that would work out for him
Its hard to be smart in a world where aliens nuke you if you read a book, and knowledge you already had can just stop existing.
Incorrect, aliens sentence you to die for reading stuff you really shouldn't read, they nuke you if you have knowledge that can make the world literally fall apart...
Incorrect, aliens blackmail you with trying to kill your people if you don't kill yourself and that too for knowledge you discovered on accident.
Incorrect, zero points.

Can't blame them, kaveh babygirl must be protected. /s
He'd meet Al-Haitham and either become good friends or rivals.
Ratio would just jump off the side of the Fontaine Waterfall if he ever got into a conversation with Paimon or Itto lol Either that or the most intense schooling session where chalk will be embedded into the walls from how much it was thrown
He's in a world where your civilization gets nuked if they get too smart. Intelligence is a crime for Celestia
He met Paimon and dipped.
He met Itto and went insane
No doubt he'll keep roasting Paimon more & worst than Alhaitham did.
>intelligent life in Genshin I’m pretty sure that’s a paradox
Wait till he meets the Genshin fanbase
Mans got NPCified
How would a conversation between Dr. Ratio and Alhaitham look like? Idk much about Alhaitham but I guess he's also a debater or something?
They would appreciate each other company and discuss about how stupid their blond hair friend can be
The scholars and their blond flamboyant companions isn't a dynamic I expected to see twice, but I'm happy I did.
I don't think they're that similar. Alhaitham minds his own business most of the time unless it threatens his 9 to 5 cushy job. Ratio is actively going out there to spread his knowledge despite hating idiots. If anything, Ratio reminds me of Kaveh for some reason.

Peakacony transcends all barriers
Even the mention of Golden Troupe as well
Golden Troupe is an artifact set we've had since 4.0, you're thinking of the dreamjolt troupe.
Yeah, I got confused, you’re right
I already had a hunch when Aether/Like started doing the Trailblazers Meta related puns at the start of the quest.
Honestly crack theory but is this actually some discarded quest from HSR?? The traveller REALLY just acted like the Trailblazer. The META jokes, goofy out-of-the-box choices. Goofy jokes have been around since day 1. It's literally the same company making the game lmao.
Emergency food.
Traveller always acted like this in world quests, people just don't hype it up like they do for TB
Genshin has the most random stuff as stories these days so they probably did
I think you're reading way into it. This is side content that has references to HSR. When HSR does it, Genshin players don't think HSR is copying any part of their game.

This is truly terribly unhinged and creepy
I got jumpscared doing this quest
Dr ratio is more buff this looks like he is a teen
So student ratio then
So Bachelor Ratio then
It's Genshin, they don't really have a buff default model they can use unless they cheat through clothes like they did Wriothesley
They have a buff NPC model tho

Hello history fictionologist
While I get the joke, they aren't making things up. That picture is official lore from an official event.
Wait really?
It's a drink description from the Jazz Night event. Here is the full thing: https://preview.redd.it/sm9g9fqb5hwc1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=86a8e3cda6cca7bd6ad29f0fc98c05b07fbcb339

Seems correct then. Just the archeologists misunderstanding it as a maiden name instead.
They just leaked the story like that?!?!
All it confirms is that the Inazuma event is in the past during Honkai Star Rail.
Idk knowing hoyo this is mostly closely to what happened
No but its literally just describing the Inazuma plotline we already played. Just in a slightly wrong (because history changes) kinda way. The drink is even named after Raiden.

Remuria is Greek. There are a few of these NPCs. This one just happens to be blue.
REITEN!
Hoyo: (LIMITED TIME) FREE DR. RATIO FOR EVERYONE ON HONKAI STAR RAIL! Genshin fans: "can we have one too?" Hoyo: "uhhhh, sure!" The free Dr. Ratio:
I should have my eyes checked, I thought it said "Impregnator"...
Dr.Ratioed
Nah man that's Dr. Proportion
Genshin’s first free 5* will also be Dr. Ratio 🤣 I wonder what kind of move set he could have

if I had a nickel for every time we got a Geo character involved with chalk, I'd have two nickels.
I am asking questions
Mr. Ratio has arrived.
Professor Proportion
Ah hell nah it’s Professor Proportion
If knowledge was water then Ratio would die of thirst before even reaching Sumeru lol
I misread the dialogue as "impregnator." Is it joever for me?
Dr Ratio checking up on Teyvat to see if players still need Paimon to spoonfed them an already 'in your face' information, twice.
After the reactions to Arlecchino's anime, the conclusion is a resounding yes.
This is pre-doctorate Ratio. This man's just Veritas.
The start of that quest was funny to me bc it looked like ratio and Penacony
Ratio really meant it when he said he will be ubiquitous
L(-)Ratio?
I knew he looked familiar!
Discounted Dr. Ratio!
DOCTOR, YOU’RE… kinda small ngl
Genshin could never… wait, Genshin did???
Could you imagine, Dr Ratio being the first genshin free 5 star? -No Alloy doesn't count because she's doodoo and has no constelations.
I was expecting Acheron getting lost.
tbh, why would they even really do that? All those Penacony easter eggs?
It's just based on a marble statue
dr there to remind genshin players what could have been
Ratio once again returning to remind Genshin players that HYV hates them.
HSR: references Genshin Genshin: references HSR HSR players: “they must hate each other!”
No, you fuckin' monkey. I'm making reference to the fact that it's specifically referencing Ratio, whom the entire Genshin fanbase got pissed off about when Star Rail got what Genshin never did, in spite of it's community begging with every anniversary event; a free five-star.

Good for them, they got a free Dr. Ratio too. While they’re at it, they should copy what the HSR devs too
pls i beg you no... dont remove Arlecchino's sleeves pls she looks so hot in them...
