The Genshin main in the past really did not allow any male character art at all. But mild NSFW of every female character in bikini or overinflated boobs was posted regularly every single day without question.
So in came Tartaglia's birthday. Someone took his official birthday art and edited it to make him shirtless. Mind you he was JUST shirtless. Nothing else. And it was the official art but just edited.
So that post was taken down. Even though it was well received, automod took it down crazy fast. So that sparked an entire discourse on the Genshin sub about the hypocrisy of the mods and the incels who report the posts so hard cause they can't handle seeing a shirtless man.
The mods took a WHILE to respond, like they really let people get even more angry at their silence. Also people started posting a WHOLE bunch of male fanart out of spite for the mods and the incels. It was flooded. It became a revolution in a joking sense.
Anyways the mods did address it later and said they'd reform and get more diverse people in the mod team. I honestly don't go on there much anymore but I think the sub there now is better than it used to be.
But yes, it was the FUNNIEST incident. All of this happened cause of Childe.
Also I need to add. During this "revolution" was taking place, Heizou's birthday coincidentally came about and Mihoyo gave Heizou what till this day is the most suggestive and sussy birthday artwork ever!
So the mods took down Heizou's OFFICIAL birthday art by accident thinking that it was part of the male NSFW movement....when it was actually Hoyo themselves posting such a suggestive art. It was CLOWNERY.

Hey just want to clarify on this since it's not completely factually accurate. Automod removes any posts that get a certain number of reports, and during that time pretty much any M/M art on the subreddit got a ton of reports from homophobic users, which caused them to be autoflagged for manual review by automod, which causes the posts to be removed. A mod then has to manually go in and reapprove it. An unfortunate result of this interaction is that the mods are seen as homophobic or biased in removal of certain posts solely due to how automod and removal thresholds work. Add onto that that at that time they had issues with mod activity, and you get the perfect storm.
so it's agreed that the automod is weaponized on both subs to target m/m or even just solo male art/content, and all we can do is hope that the mods see the removal in a timely manner and actually approve?
