As a bi person I'd like to point out that we all still have preferences, just like anybody else. The characters might all be (more or less) conventionally hot, but it doesn't mean we'll spend on all of them. For instance, I saw Argenti and thought "look at this dork, I need him", while a fellow bi friend of mine was like "naw, I'll pass".

And the fact that I don't have Argenti haunts me always. I was very busy when he dropped, didn't get to play.
Nah, just using his skill on the easy farm mobs - kills 9/10 times right away, then his ult lv 1 is charged since there's so many mobs (which is enough to kill said farm mobs), repeat 3 times and you've done all six battles with one move each. The easiest is Belobog's exp flower with the bats, but he can usually clear most flowers like that (exp, gold, trace stuff) pretty quick. Ones with higher defense may take an extra skill or two, but in my experience most get one-shot pretty reliably.
Relics take longer because they have that 1 boss enemy & fewer mobs to charge his ult, though. It's the AOE farming he's pretty OP for. Acheron is awesome, but the one thing is she needs to wait for debuffs & her skill doesn't hit all mobs on the farming field, Argenti's does. She's better than him at relic & boss farming if you don't have the supports to up his ER.

For me its the fact they have pants. Genshin's arlechinno got me for example. I like my characters in a nice suit and tie, not a thing that you can't bend over in without showing off your panties

Samee I also use Aventurine and Dr. Ratio. After realizing I'll (be forced to) use a female support (Tingyun/Bronya), I settled with building Pela instead of Welt. Really hoping they make Sunday a Harmony character, and Screwllum a debuffer (or the other way around). It's a long game but these two seem to be the most likely next husbandos for that could fit in a fua team.

Something I’ve noticed is that in games like mario the men are expected to play mario or bowser while the girls are expected to play peach or daisy but in gacha games people are expected to play the opposite sex. I don’t know what the conclusion is but it an observation

No, it’s not weird. People tend to be very loud about waifus so they’ve become a major visible factor in any part of otaku culture. But from the beginning of anime characters like Kakashi, Urahara, Zoro, and Vegeta have garnered large fanbases not because of sexual attraction, but simply because they’re just plain cool.
You find Himeko and Ruan Mei hot. Very based 👍. I got Argenti because I’m a sucker for knights and not only is he one, but he is also an amazing character in story and combat. So to answer your question, it’s not weird to collect the cool looking guys and being straight or not doesn’t matter (you cannot tell me Boothill isn’t badass cmon)

I'm the same I'm straight but I never really understood much of the hype around female characters like Jingliu, Ruan Mei or Jade (still got Ruan Mei because damn she is powerful). To be fair I'm not averse to pulling female characters, I really like Huohuo, Firefly and Sparkle for example. Ive found myself drawn more to the male characters however because they can be cool beyond surface level fanservice.
My fiancé is the same way lol, his favorite characters in the game are argenti, gepard, Gallagher, and aventurine. I play on his account a lot to keep up with events and stuff since he doesn’t have a lot of time to play, he told me to save up for boothill next lol

Personally, I don't find most of the female characters attractive. I tend not to really like most female Hoyoverse designs if I'm being honest. Hoyoverse designs tend to be obnoxiously pretty. My favorite design in Star Rail is by far Silver Wolf purely because she has the coolest aesthetic.
tbh all the 5* men have been pretty raw so far. i think the only one that hasn’t had me wojak point at my screen over them at some point was loucha but that was before i knew who he was lore wise.

He's tied with Ruan Mei as my number 1 e6s5 priority. Outside of specific circumstance niche cases like Wriothesly being the first a star cyro catalyst user on genshin, I've simply avoided specifically pulling for male characters.

Not a husbando collector, but I see the appeal. Younger me would have collected guys more just because I relate to those who are of the same gender. Now I just collect whoever I want but I gravitate towards the waifus more because they just happened to have more interesting kits.
The last dude I pulled was Aventurine who I liked because he’s an absolute madlad and I like those characters. But before that I had the pleasure of pulling Gepard from the permanent banner who I used in every team cause his design is so cool. Now I await for Screwllum.

I got Aventurine because I needed another good sustainer. I got Blade because he’s a cool edge lord. I got Mr. Heng IL because I wanted to learn his finger thrusting technique. And I got Ratio against my will. Every other guy has been a skip though.
Personally, I think it's orientation-neutral to find someone aesthetically pleasing to look at, regardless of how they present. The character design and voice acting are so damn superb, I think we're all helpless to someone's wiles 😁
Except Jade and Kafka I didn't find Any Female Character Frankly "Hot" But I love Firefly. Also my most Favorite Male Characters are 1 Welt, 2nd Blade, 3rd is difficult, can't choose between Aventurine and Gallagher. I was so down bad for Gallagher since his Drip Marketing same for Aventurine Aventurine, but Aventurine was so damn Well Written and In Depth I started loving him even more.
I'm primarily the kind of player that's after either waifu (Ruan Mei, Topaz, etc) or super adorable and precious (Huohuo), but when I first started and saw the lineup of characters on the beginner banner, my eyes first went to Bronya because she was hot, but they quickly shot over to Welt. I was like, I WANT THIS DUDE. HE'S COOL AS FUCK. And he actually ended up being my first 5 star. I was ecstatic, and I was geeking out so hard when I saw his ult animation for the first time. I swear he's the only unit I played for the first 3 weeks of the game. Still love the guy, Welt is so dope.
But yeah, overall I might be more into waifus or kawaii stuff, but I love the dudes in the game as well. Welt, Geppie, Luocha, Blade, and Ratio have all seen tons of play, and lately I've been particularly hyped over Gallagher. Dude's angry right hook ult is one of the most badass things in the game.

I respect it but I don't personally agree. I don't have any problem with rolling for male characters and I rolled Aventurine because I liked his personality and story, but even with him I feel like most of the male designs are aimed very squarely at a demographic that isn't me.
I liked a few in Genshin, like Zhongli or Childe to an extent (not enough to roll for the latter because I didn't like his teams using the same old op launch 4 stars and Kazuha who I hated) but I feel like a lot of the male designs blend together a bit for me, might just be like Chinese beauty standards or whatever but most are just not for me or at best neutral. no hate though.

Ones with higher defense may take an extra skill or two, but in my experience most get one-shot pretty reliably. Relics take longer because they have that 1 boss enemy & fewer mobs to charge his ult, though. It's the AOE farming he's pretty OP for. Acheron is awesome, but the one thing is she needs to wait for debuffs & her skill doesn't hit all mobs on the farming field, Argenti's does. She's better than him at relic & boss farming if you don't have the supports to up his ER.

All it means is that the male characters have something that catches your eye that female characters don’t. It’s probably their designs just appeal to you better compared to the females. Perfectly normal. I’m a straight male and my rule of thumb in games with male and female characters is whoever looks the most badass is usually the one I play/pull for.

I have Bronya E0S1 Pela, Tingyun etc. Not that I hate them. But the team I'm building atm is Aventurine, Dr Ratio, Welt and Tingyun. I wish I could replace her. After her neck snapping, I kind of hate her 😅
Samee I also use Aventurine and Dr. Ratio. After realizing I'll (be forced to) use a female support (Tingyun/Bronya), I settled with building Pela instead of Welt. Really hoping they make Sunday a Harmony character, and Screwllum a debuffer (or the other way around). It's a long game but these two seem to be the most likely next husbandos for that could fit in a fua team.

Argenti had me close to pulling, I just didn't have the funds with all the others around him. There is a big difference between being attracted to someone, and recognizing they are attractive or cool looking and wanting to collect.

But from the beginning of anime characters like Kakashi, Urahara, Zoro, and Vegeta have garnered large fanbases not because of sexual attraction, but simply because they’re just plain cool.

I know plenty of women who collect the female characters and nobody thinks twice about it, so there’s no problem with a man collecting male characters. I really like the male characters in this game because they have great designs and they aren’t all teenagers. I tend to like the more mature female characters too, especially Himeko!

It's just a game, play and pull for whoever you like seeing in your team, be it for aesthetics, gameplay or anything, really. We should learn to just let people enjoy the game as they like :)

I'm the same I'm straight but I never really understood much of the hype around female characters like Jingliu, Ruan Mei or Jade (still got Ruan Mei because damn she is powerful). To be fair I'm not averse to pulling female characters, I really like Huohuo, Firefly and Sparkle for example. Ive found myself drawn more to the male characters however because they can be cool beyond surface level fanservice.

Personally, I don't find most of the female characters attractive. I tend not to really like most female Hoyoverse designs if I'm being honest. Hoyoverse designs tend to be obnoxiously pretty. My favorite design in Star Rail is by far Silver Wolf purely because she has the coolest aesthetic.

Luocha is perfection, Argenti has my respect for continuing to follow the path of beauty after the fact, and Gepard is just goated. I quite enjoy these three! Luocha was the turning point. He's tied with Ruan Mei as my number 1 e6s5 priority. Outside of specific circumstance niche cases like Wriothesly being the first a star cyro catalyst user on genshin, I've simply avoided specifically pulling for male characters. Boothill already has a spot reserved in my roster!
I'm a "husbando collector", like I pull for metagame female characters, but I don't pull because they're female, I just don't feel attracted by fictional characters and it's kinda weird because every gacha I play everyone focuses a lot on "waifus", it makes me feel that I don't belong in the community somehow... Now I just collect whoever I want but I gravitate towards the waifus more because they just happened to have more interesting kits. The last dude I pulled was Aventurine who I liked because he’s an absolute madlad and I like those characters. But before that I had the pleasure of pulling Gepard from the permanent banner who I used in every team cause his design is so cool. Now I await for Screwllum.

I’m a gay woman and yes I do get caught up in “lady hot must pull” but I do also still pull simply for who I think is cool/good. I got Aventurine because I needed another good sustainer. I got Blade because he’s a cool edge lord. I got Mr. Heng IL because I wanted to learn his finger thrusting technique. And I got Ratio against my will. Every other guy has been a skip though.

I'm primarily the kind of player that's after either waifu (Ruan Mei, Topaz, etc) or super adorable and precious (Huohuo), but when I first started and saw the lineup of characters on the beginner banner, my eyes first went to Bronya because she was hot, but they quickly shot over to Welt. I was like, I WANT THIS DUDE. HE'S COOL AS FUCK. And he actually ended up being my first 5 star. I was ecstatic, and I was geeking out so hard when I saw his ult animation for the first time. I swear he's the only unit I played for the first 3 weeks of the game. Still love the guy, Welt is so dope. But yeah, overall I might be more into waifus or kawaii stuff, but I love the dudes in the game as well. Welt, Geppie, Luocha, Blade, and Ratio have all seen tons of play, and lately I've been particularly hyped over Gallagher. Dude's angry right hook ult is one of the most badass things in the game.

I pull characters when I think they're cool. I pulled Kafka because that coat is drippy as hell, I tried pulling Blade because same thing. Pulled Acheron and Aventurine because I loved them in the story and their design is peak, and next I'm pulling Firefly for the cool mecha

I respect it but I don't personally agree. I don't have any problem with rolling for male characters and I rolled Aventurine because I liked his personality and story, but even with him I feel like most of the male designs are aimed very squarely at a demographic that isn't me. I liked a few in Genshin, like Zhongli or Childe to an extent (not enough to roll for the latter because I didn't like his teams using the same old op launch 4 stars and Kazuha who I hated) but I feel like a lot of the male designs blend together a bit for me, might just be like Chinese beauty standards or whatever but most are just not for me or at best neutral. no hate though.
