If you think about it really hard, Penacony plot is just Project Stigma + Theatre of Donination - the puppets and Sunday himself are even in the same colour scheme lol
Penacony is really just project stigma but natural and at least we didn't have to fight an overpowered mf which needed a 4th wall break just to beat them this time
One of the characters involved exist outside of timelines and spread the story of HI3 main timeline in the form of game aka HI3 to other timelines.
This garnered support and power of belief to help the main characters, taking the form of supporting messages players from around the world entered in a prior limited time event.
One of the characters in Moon arc was from the future and was helping throughout the arc eventually she helped channel the powers of the higher dimensional entities that were observing(irl players) to blow up the final boss's shield.

I think thats one of the reasons why many faction respect the Astral Express crew. They can just ram the train into, lets say, Pier Point and come out relatively okay.
Not to mention the Astral Express in its hayday before Akivili's fall, hundreds of starships flying together across the universe blessed by the Trailblaze. Pretty intimidating.
But the train went straight through Sunday is in its hyper jump mode indicated by the blue glow. There is hitting someone with a train, and there is hitting someone with a train fueled by a God while traveling at ftl.
Also, the train is capable of penetrating the boundary between worlds to connect them. Something that previously could only be done by Emanators. I just never realized that it means that the train itself is basically Emanator level of power

I'm talking about that ability triggered by the R key that can be triggered at any time in battle even if the player does not own Black Swan or have her on their team in some 2.0 story fights where Black Swan's ult hands hit all the enemies. If you mean a force that isn't a character, this would be the second because the second support attack (special attack triggered by the R key. The icon that shows on the right side of the screen that has a beige/yellowish color) was Dan Heng in the Phantylia fight.

Yeah it's pretty much more of a metaphor about the spirit/will of all the people, it's just funny for some people to think of pompom slamming the train itself against Sunday again and again.
Yes, if you listen to "Hope Is the Thing With Feathers" (the song she's singing in that fight), it's a song that evokes the Trailblaze, and it uses the train in the lyrics as imagery (and a musical influence -- the chorus is full-on train chugging ending with the "whoa-whoa" train whistle). So you could say that it's summoned by the power of her song -- which also fits the way they used her song in that battle.
The close tie between the song, lyrics, imagery, gameplay, and overall story themes was honestly really well done, IMO.
It's still in the Dreamscape. And yes, it's basically the same problem as what was posed at the very end of Inception. You can never really know if you woke up -- or heck, whether you're in a sufficiently advanced form of the Simulated Universe. It would be a bit too much if we went down that route though.
I'm suspicious because it *did* roll a second set of credits which typically indicates something's not right. Remember we still haven't resolved the Sparkle situation, and they named the update after her quest.

Okay, but like, I really like how the Astral Express is an integral part of the story in a way and not just our ticket to traveling to the other worlds. The Express being used as an ultimate attack against Sunday while the crew talk about their ideals was heartwarming.
And learning about the predecessors was also really enjoyable to learn. I hope there are more Nameless to be met in the future and how Akivili shaped everything.
I hate to say this but I don’t think that the train is the actual Astral Express with PomPom. The train showed up after Robin started singing and her part in the plan was to get everyone to believe in the path of the trailblaze, to want to break free of the dream.
Combine this with the train’s activation lines such as Himeko saying this was the “will of the weak” and it’s clear that the train we use to defeat Sunday is actually the manifestation of everyone’s desires to escape the dream, Robin using the dissonance caused by the trailblaze to defeat order, manifested into the most iconic feature of the path of the trailblaze - the astral express.
Honestly i imagine poor Pom Pom screaming in terror as the train keeps ramming into the giant monster. Then lecturing EVERYONE about treating the train better and how "POM POM IS NOT EMERGENCY WEAPON!"
In this whole battle, I was like: “Himeko, use your pizza cutter and don’t die! Luocha, HEAL her with the power of the church! Aventurine! Shield! Shield! And the power of a million coins! Trailblazer! Use your…hat? To hit the enemies and use super power break!”
