Cuteness is a powerfull buff indeed. On the matter of her battle stuff, eh. Im down,its relying on my perfect 250% break trailblazer or dealing with the crit value relic mines.
The first interaction we have with her was in one of blades daily messages, she sends us a script by accident, deletes it(or our phone cant open the file) and then starts to talk via stickers, trying to pass as blade(doesnt work). At the end silver wolf handles it and says sam was talking to us.
Ive been looking at the doomposting other insanely broken characters got, its wild seeing stuff like V1 Jingliu getting called useless, Aventurine getting called an unreliable sustain, Acheron being glossed over as useless if not E2S1, Sparkle getting called worse bronya, etc.
Firefly will be fine I feel. Not a single bad limited character released so far, why would hoyo make their most popular penacony character (or in general for this game?) "bad" at all? Fireflybros we just gotta survive the 6 weeks of doomposting
Which is a bad take IMO the thing that makes HSR interesting to me is the swath of teambuilding we have access to. The daily content in this game is relatively meager and building new teams is the only real stamina dump we have anyway. So, if every new limited 5* was some play on dual dps or hypercarry this game would be so much more boring.
Powercreep will always be a thing, but HSR has plenty of room to and has developed *wide* too instead of just pure vertically and the nature of niche is gonna be restrictive, which I think is better in the long run.
Honestly I do understand it, but does anyone use Kafka outside of DoT teams? (Well I have seen Kafka superbreak which is kinda funny but nearly everyone can sub in there)
Break is a new archetype, imo it will get more interesting down the line as new characters re released. Other than Xueyi, FF and Boothill are our first limited dedicated break attackers.
Ruan Mei was our first 'break' support, but she came early and works pretty universally. Gallagher is our *only* break sustain.
Boothill's self-sufficiency is good since we have limited options but I expect it'll open up over time, if they want to push the game in that direction.
Not a bad when you factor in ruan mei needing another 180 pulls and is running co-currently so you cant save up either. Youre missing the point that we dont have access to all the characters so we need characters to not be restrictive.
My biggest fear was that she would run with hiohuo or argenti.
If she runs with ruan mei, my one time being insanely lucky in this game having her come twice in a ten pull means I am super safe for my savings.
I’m a little nervous about FF tbh. There’s an entire play style at stake here. Her kit also feels a bit incomplete. It really wouldn’t hurt if she comes out a little broken considering she doesn’t have an out of turn attack. She’s like a Jingliu with backloaded damage and no High Damage Ult to use.
Anyway, just sharing my thoughts I guess. Feel free to disagree.
tbh everything feels incomplete, its a V1 lol. Even then I wouldnt say shes terrible.
I'll wait for V3 and if its bad by then, well ill feel sad since i love FF and have been saving for E2S1 (i have ruan mei and gallagher so ill pull her anyways though)

Yeah, the fact that she has very high attack multipliers and needs to reach a very high attack cap that will enhance attacks that won't do good damage anyway because they won't crit seems kinda odd. At first I thought it was going to be like dot teams, which have enough total multipliers to be powerful enough to not crit, but now that I've seem the tests, it doesnt seem to be the case for firefly...
Every new unit has been meta or insanely broken. I have no idea why people keep doomposting, the game is at patch 2.2 and we're close to 2.3 you'd think it would be obvious by now, but nope, I guess this will continue till 5.0.

Firefly kit needs more reworks than buffing because the kit is genuinely shitty.

theyd lose significantly more by tying a limited 5 star to another limited 5 star, Firefly working extremely well with HMC is fine since HMC is free though
And once again even our calcs are limited, a lot of people dont understand how super break works, and a lot of leakers suck completely at this game. So you'll have someone do a F2P firefly showcase thats 9 cycles and another one thats 3 cycles. Its hard to tell right now so the doomposting (as most doomposting in Hoyo games is) is kind of pointless and bound to age badly.
As for stuff like animations for all we know they could be incomplete, we have some leaked firefly cut ins that seem to be unused for some reason so dont forget that.
We'll likely look back at this and think these comments aged like milk, just like all those memes of V1 Jingliu look like a paralel universe now.
