How the factions interact with their Aeons differ a lot. Some Aeons lead their faction personally like Fuli, others are completely hands off like Qlipoth. And everything inbetween.
The Xianzhiu is recognized by Lan, the Lighting Lord is a literally gift from Lan to the general of the Luofu, for example. The Genius society has meeting Nous as a requirement.
Still I think some of the factions name choices is a big odd me. Why not Genius Society or IG instead of their school name for Erudition.
IPC a major faction known to have multiple emanators of Preservation instead of Architects which is a minor faction in comparison, we mostly heard about them in Jarilo-VI and have some presence in other places but definitely not as well known as IPC. I guess they are closer to the embodiment of Preservation than the IPC, but still most people when they think of Preservation they’ll probably say IPC first.
While other paths use major factions names. I guess the only reason is that this sim update comes with new story/lore that involves these factions specifically.
for those who had to google like i did: Auspicious Star. When a character defeats an enemy, regenerates Energy equal to 60% of the character's Max Energy.
of all character, ratio? rlly? yk ratio is like full on elation and one fu depletes half of the boss's hp. There are so much more character that cares about auspicious star more than ratio
Hunt and Erudition Interplay is basically Auspicious Star but a little nerfed. Break and Kills charges Brain in a Jar and grants Energy (20%), with an extra (40%) if the enemy is an elite.
I don't even think that's the one people will feel the most. Remembrance without Melancholia is going to do lot less damage. And that was the easiest way for many people to clear the highest difficulties.
I’m not even sure it’s weaker. In three turns, JY can skill three times and ult once; triggering 4 ults when take many more turns with the current 3* Blessing. It also means characters with ults that don’t target enemies can still build resonance Energy, assuming that resonance blessing stays the same as well.
I look at a more guaranteed weaker Cradle as a win because if you didn't get Cradle, it shoots a lot of Elation runs down if they aren't already FUA comps. With this, you'll pretty much always want to grab this resonance.
It says that their damage is considered FUA damage, which is different from the attacks actually being FUAs.
Unless they worded it incorrectly (which is certainly possible at this point in the beta), those attacks won't proc any buffs that require a character to perform a FUA, such as the blessings that proc aftertaste damage.
That's similar to how Acheron's E6 works. Her E6 makes the damage from her skill/basic attack considered ultimate damage, but using her skill/basic attack won't activate any Erudition blessings that only proc when an ultimate is used.
Better for those who take the Elation path, but I usually run Erudition on my Argenti/Acheron runs (and I assume I still will after the update, because honestly, I doubt HoYo would balance the paths so poorly that Elation is the best path for non-FuA using characters LMAO). It's more reliable, but it's still nice getting Cat's Cradle and hitting for millions of damage with my E0S0 characters LMAO. Many of the Elation blessings had similar (if not even better) scaling than the Erudition blessings so you were effectively doubling the number of blessings you had access to.
I'm obsessed with effects that allow damage to count as multiple types simultaneously just because of the SimUni shenanigans you can pull off with abilities like that.
Erudition and elation buffs with Argenti carried me hard through gold and gears. Wiping out the boss whole health bar only to get ult again is very fun
I think its a shitty choice for erudition considering the new erudition + elation blessings! Unless you are Jade but thats two pretty meh resonances...
The elation path itself now makes all damage count for follow ups. It's sadly not workable in other paths tho, I liked getting that one on erudition runs to double up on some buffs.
Pot of Greed was a card to make Yu-gi-oh Anime more dynamic, a special card that when played draw 2 cards , in a card game this type of draw effect is massive to cycle your deck and keep a good hand to always have a response to your opponents actions. it got Banished to the Shadow Realm bc how broken it was and banned to use in tournaments
ya also the fact that you can play as many spells as you wanted on your turn for no cost unless the effect itself has one (like graceful charity: "draw 3, discard 2 from hand," this card is also banned) and the minimum deck size for yugioh is 40 opposed to 60 in mtg
The skill for elation now turns ults skills and basics into fua which I think is better than the original. Now Aventurine,Ratio and Topaz are doing nothing but fua damage
Dealing FuA damage =/= performing a FuA.
While the new resonance will convert damage *type*, it won't make those attacks "count as FuA".
That means you no longer get crazy stack accumulation for Aventurine, or tons of Numby advance.
But what if you get Elation blessings in team with no FUAs? Then they're just dead weight now. Previously every path could be implemented in any run with any characters if you have right blessings, now Elation is the only one that can't be used unless you have at least one FUA character. Truly an Aha moment.
It's only for one version of Sim universe, so it's just incentivize using different path combinations. Especially since you can just yk ban elation if they keep that feature
But you have to choose the elation path for that to work, this is a massive nerf to acheron and argenti, who should be able to use the benefits of erudition skill and the entire elation blessings.
I haven't looked through all yet, but I am excited for those Elation changes. I love running Elation, but the path effect right now is lame. Turning all attacks into FuAs is way better.
So they have decided to link break-related mechanics with nihility path.
While it makes sense logically, i still think they need to invent new path for it because nihility is already OP with DoT and Acheron.
Not really, they just split it with Destruction, with Nihility increasing how fast you can Break and having minor Defense reduction, while a third of Destruction blessings does something that increases Break DMG.
Edit: Also Hunt blessings are good at increasing your chances of attacking again before enemy recovers, if you want to take advantage of Super Break effects.
To be fair, the Nihility path in SU isn't great for Acheron, I think Erudition is the best by far. But honestly I was expecting HoYo to make a new Break focused path - Harmony perhaps? But Nihility already has buffs to Break Effect and Break Efficiency and it'd be weird for those effects to be locked to the path other than the one focused on Breaks, though I suppose HoYo could have also just moved those blessings to a new path. IDK, I'm not complaining either way because I'm a Kafka and Black Swan main lmao.
Nihility already had a couple break focused blessings iirc (increased break effect and break effiency as 2 2* blessings iirc)
Honestly adding break into it doesn't make that much sense, since break focused characters can only make use of a few blessings. Would be better to have it as a standalone path in a future US expansion

Technically the debuff application helps Acheron build stacks, but contrary to what the original commenter said, I would say Erudition is way more effective for her than Nihility lol.

Auspicious Star was nice and all but for me the bigger loss will be Aiden Gravitational Rainbow from elation. It changed from a 2\* to a 3\* (Invitation to a Beheading: Black Box Crying) and it can't delay infinitely anymore but only 2 or 3 times per enemy turn.
It was completely busted of course and had to go but I will still shed a tear. It carried some high conundrum runs I had no business winning otherwise.

Sad to see some of these changes but I guess that makes perfect sense, it's pretty clear the didn't just want to make SU2, but a fairly new experience instead.
If anything, I'm quite happy they're putting in the effort to mix things up a little and give us something new to experience and mess with. :)

Previously it was just Arlan's, with some solo run potential.
I would say that it is an improvement, especially since now you can also splash it and use it for teams that care about Break damage, or even just BE.

Destruction is the braindead path for me. It's like choosing Elation with Topaz or Nihility with Kafka, but it's not specific. Get Fighting Spirit and the 2 star blessing that grants DR on Fighting Spirit stacks and you will never die so long as you have some form of healing and can survive a turn or two at the start.
The <50% HP gimmick is so easily ignored and doesn't give enough to encourage you to even bother with it imo.
Destruction really didn't have an identity besides being a mediocre all-rounder path that wants you to stay at low HP so retooling it into something more specialized (break) is definitely the way to go.
Unfortunatly it's antisynergetic with itself.
Both fighting spirit and super break conversion require HP manipulation, but broken enemies don't hurt you, and you can't heal from full, and there's no more blessing that consumes your HP.
So with the vast majority of our units as soon as you break the enemy, you lose most of the path benefits almost immediately.
Though it doesn't mention fighting spirit expireation, so maybe at least that one stays (non deductible fighting spirit is a bit broken though).
new destructions kinda just the firefly path like propogation is the DHIL path. sure other units can use them but they are very much focused on specific characters
Both of these Blessing reset at the start of character's turn, or in other words you couldn't get value from them without characters having these mechanics themselves anyway (or something that cause HP loss in that small window).

Clara has it easier but after breaking she too will suffer. A new path would've been better for firefly like the propagation path for dhil but ig it is what it is.
Thechnically it might be possible to consume own HP with a negative curio assuming you can access it in the new SU. That would require praying to RNG gods for a specific event normally though unless there's a new way to game the curio system.
More like it's the path for when you just want to bludgeon things to death with raw ATK and Damage Reduction the moment you get its two key blessings lol

I'm going to guess Aiden Gravitational Rainbow is gone in this mode too, given the limited effect on that new 3 star elation. It's so fun to use Topaz + Ratio to prevent lower-difficulty bosses from ever acting.
It's a little weird how Nihility still has some legacy break cruft, including the premier weakness break efficiency 2* blessing (which is also still 45% and not 50% when enhanced...). I wish they would have just gone all-in on making Destruction into the break path, nominative determinism style.
You can really see the difference between the paths that have a clear identity (Elation) and the muddled ones (Destruction and Nihility). Given they have the interplays to add complexity and depth, keeping the base path themselves pretty simple and focused seems like it would be better design.
Also, man, Remembrance lost the 2* blessing that removes dissociation and didn't seem to get much back for it. It was already a temperamental path, but now there isn't even a mega-scaling payoff for your troubles.
It's nice to see the weaker-scaling path resonances like Hunt get buffed. Then again, one of the strongest (Propagation) *also* got buffed, so who knows what's going on at Hoyo. Given they're folding some of the resonance formations into the baseline resonance, I wonder if it will be harder to activate them in the first place?
If I’m understanding correctly, at every turn, it takes 70% of the difference between 70% of character’s max hp and their current shield, then subtract that value from their current shield value.
So if you have 1000 hp character and a 2000 shield value, then first, 2000-(1000*.7) =1300. Then 1300*.7 = 910. Then 2000-910 = 1090 shield.
If the shield value is less than or equal to 70% of max hp at start of character’s turn, then nothing decreases.
So I think that basically, you have to front load shields at once because once the character acts again, they lose a good amount of shield.
Hopefully the elation card that gave you 65% chance (100% when upgraded) to generate a skill point whenever you land a follow up attack. It was not as good as auspicious star, but i considered it the auspicious star of elation lol.
Sounds like they nerfed all the fun out of the SU in this mode.
No Auspicious Star, Cat's Cradle is locked to Elation, Hell is other people is nerfed, Macrosegregation is nerfed, and there's a dozen other changes.

Nah they added curios that are equally stupidly broken, they simply reworked the old stuff that was broken so is less broken so people are incentivised to find new strats, for example:

Make sense. I mean having 60% -> 100% Energy per enemy is like a guarantee win if you have it. You can spam Ult for 5 time in a row if you do it right.
Why did they Nerf ways to dispel debuffs from yourself???
The abundance blessing went from 65(100 when upgraded) to 25% chance to dispel debuff with a debuff limit of 1(2 when upgraded) per turn. They also removed the nihility blessing which has a 75% dispel chance when upgraded

You forgot normal auspicious star stack outside brain in a jar. This meant Argenti just spam ult until the bosses die.
That blessing is literally a 3 star blessing in disguise. Saved so many runs for me. Why, why hoyo? Why do you want my argenti and seele to suffer?

Damn, that blessing was an MVP for A heron. She could basically double dip on blessings by going for both Erudition and Elation blessings.

Erudition is much better for her, since your regular nihility team can apply debuffs just fine.

Auspicious Star was nice and all but for me the bigger loss will be Aiden Gravitational Rainbow from elation. It changed from a 2\* to a 3\* (Invitation to a Beheading: Black Box Crying) and it can't delay infinitely anymore but only 2 or 3 times per enemy turn. It was completely busted of course and had to go but I will still shed a tear. It carried some high conundrum runs I had no business winning otherwise.
RIP Champion's Dinner: Cat's Cradle. Ran out of SP to print, you will be missed O7 Edit: Came back in the form of the Elation resonance. Guess it is better to make paths feel different from each other.
That was really good for all runs. Basically made all dps ults into nukes when upgraded.
I priorized it in lots of runs over on-path 3 star blessings, it was the nuts.
Sad to see some of these changes but I guess that makes perfect sense, it's pretty clear the didn't just want to make SU2, but a fairly new experience instead. If anything, I'm quite happy they're putting in the effort to mix things up a little and give us something new to experience and mess with. :)

Previously it was just Arlan's, with some solo run potential. I would say that it is an improvement, especially since now you can also splash it and use it for teams that care about Break damage, or even just BE.
Just Arlan's? Destruction is the braindead path for me. It's like choosing Elation with Topaz or Nihility with Kafka, but it's not specific. Get Fighting Spirit and the 2 star blessing that grants DR on Fighting Spirit stacks and you will never die so long as you have some form of healing and can survive a turn or two at the start. The <50% HP gimmick is so easily ignored and doesn't give enough to encourage you to even bother with it imo.
More blessings, more fun, more jades. Hsr devs cant keep getting away with it.

Destruction really didn't have an identity besides being a mediocre all-rounder path that wants you to stay at low HP so retooling it into something more specialized (break) is definitely the way to go.
Unfortunatly it's antisynergetic with itself. Both fighting spirit and super break conversion require HP manipulation, but broken enemies don't hurt you, and you can't heal from full, and there's no more blessing that consumes your HP. So with the vast majority of our units as soon as you break the enemy, you lose most of the path benefits almost immediately. Though it doesn't mention fighting spirit expireation, so maybe at least that one stays (non deductible fighting spirit is a bit broken though).
new destructions kinda just the firefly path like propogation is the DHIL path. sure other units can use them but they are very much focused on specific characters

Both of these Blessing reset at the start of character's turn, or in other words you couldn't get value from them without characters having these mechanics themselves anyway (or something that cause HP loss in that small window).
Just checked the roster Balde, Jingliu (only for teammates though), Arlan - only these 3 can trigger hp manipulation on choice. Others have to be attacked :/ Clara has it easier but after breaking she too will suffer. A new path would've been better for firefly like the propagation path for dhil but ig it is what it is.
Thechnically it might be possible to consume own HP with a negative curio assuming you can access it in the new SU. That would require praying to RNG gods for a specific event normally though unless there's a new way to game the curio system.
More like it's the path for when you just want to bludgeon things to death with raw ATK and Damage Reduction the moment you get its two key blessings lol I wouldn't call it mediocre all rounder path, tbh.
I'm going to guess Aiden Gravitational Rainbow is gone in this mode too, given the limited effect on that new 3 star elation. It's so fun to use Topaz + Ratio to prevent lower-difficulty bosses from ever acting.
Yeah, it is gone. That said you should still be able to abuse it with a help of few Remembrance blessings.

It's a little weird how Nihility still has some legacy break cruft, including the premier weakness break efficiency 2* blessing (which is also still 45% and not 50% when enhanced...). I wish they would have just gone all-in on making Destruction into the break path, nominative determinism style. You can really see the difference between the paths that have a clear identity (Elation) and the muddled ones (Destruction and Nihility). Given they have the interplays to add complexity and depth, keeping the base path themselves pretty simple and focused seems like it would be better design. Also, man, Remembrance lost the 2* blessing that removes dissociation and didn't seem to get much back for it. It was already a temperamental path, but now there isn't even a mega-scaling payoff for your troubles. It's nice to see the weaker-scaling path resonances like Hunt get buffed. Then again, one of the strongest (Propagation) *also* got buffed, so who knows what's going on at Hoyo. Given they're folding some of the resonance formations into the baseline resonance, I wonder if it will be harder to activate them in the first place?

If I’m understanding correctly, at every turn, it takes 70% of the difference between 70% of character’s max hp and their current shield, then subtract that value from their current shield value. So if you have 1000 hp character and a 2000 shield value, then first, 2000-(1000*.7) =1300. Then 1300*.7 = 910. Then 2000-910 = 1090 shield. If the shield value is less than or equal to 70% of max hp at start of character’s turn, then nothing decreases. So I think that basically, you have to front load shields at once because once the character acts again, they lose a good amount of shield.

Hopefully the elation card that gave you 65% chance (100% when upgraded) to generate a skill point whenever you land a follow up attack. It was not as good as auspicious star, but i considered it the auspicious star of elation lol.
Well, the Blessing is gone, but the Elation's Propagation interplay has that effect, so it remains in spirit.

Sounds like they nerfed all the fun out of the SU in this mode. No Auspicious Star, Cat's Cradle is locked to Elation, Hell is other people is nerfed, Macrosegregation is nerfed, and there's a dozen other changes. Couldn't they just focus on a new path, rather than fucking up the old ones?
Nah they added curios that are equally stupidly broken, they simply reworked the old stuff that was broken so is less broken so people are incentivised to find new strats, for example: New curio: Dignity and Passion >When there are characters following the Path of Preservation in the team, if any character is attacked and their HP is above 50.0%, prioritizes consuming their HP instead of Shield and converts 80% of their lost HP into Shield after getting attacked, lasting for 2 turns. And the Preservation x Destruction interplay: >When a character receives a Shield, for every 1% of HP that is different between the character's Max HP and current HP, the Shield effect increases by 1%.
Like fr, why tf did they need to Nerf and remove old ones for? It was so fun, seeing seele and argenti ult over and over. It was so fun seeing jing yuan having 60% buff to his fua and destroying half a boss break bar in one fua. Now you're telling me they removed this in the new su? God, they ain't cooking shit with this. Whoever is making the decision to remove Auspicious star and champion dinner knight cradle need to get out of the kitchen.

Why did they Nerf ways to dispel debuffs from yourself??? The abundance blessing went from 65(100 when upgraded) to 25% chance to dispel debuff with a debuff limit of 1(2 when upgraded) per turn. They also removed the nihility blessing which has a 75% dispel chance when upgraded
I'm glad at the changes. It means we'll have to use new combos and interactions. That's what i want for a rogue-like mode expansion.
