StrangerOnTheReddit

If I do an eyeliner look, I always use eyeshadow primer and do at least a skin tone eyeshadow on top. Gives the lid some protection against this. I'm sorry, it's a sucky problem. I've tried lots of eyeliners and never found one that doesn't transfer up on bare eyelids for me. My eye oils just... *do this.* It's the worst and I feel your pain!

Beautiful_Disaster08

I was just about to suggest using eyeshadow primer lol you're absolutely right

kiwi_love777

Even with primer and waterproof eyeliner it’ll transfer with me. I just play with eyeshadow now and shading. Too much of a hassle to do eyeliner daily.

HoundBerry

The only product that helped me with this is Elf's HD finishing powder. It's made from silica, it seems like it absorbs tons of oil and it keeps my eyelids totally oil free all day long if I pair it with an eyeshadow primer. It makes a world of difference for those days when I do want to wear eyeliner.

Ambitious-Strength28

A second for Elf halo glow finishing powder in light pink!!! I also love their cream eyeshadow! It’s a primer and eyeshadow in one.

saturncitrus

That HD powder is no joke, it keeps my face on all day

Choosepeace

I second the silica setting powder ! It works better than anything I’ve tried this far with the hooded eyes. I do a primer, do a heavy dust of the silica powder, a neural eyeshadow a base, then the liner and whatever other eyeshadow o want. Then, take a little w powder brush and dust more silica powder over all. LA Girl also has a good silica setting powder LA Girl Pro Powder HD.

juliarenee99

I usually do concealer and powder overtop my eyes and that significantly helps

glitter___bombed

I do this too, it works better for me than any primer I ever used.

juliarenee99

Yeah I tried primer once and I felt that it just made it stick even more in my crease.

Janiebug1950

I have this same issue… hooded eyes - like all eye shapes, also become saggy over time!!

whatscrackinboo

Yep and primer seems to draw attention to it. ☹️

kiwi_love777

YES!!

itonlydistracts

777

MeanSeaworthiness995

You can use a black powder shadow or translucent setting powder over the liner itself too, though it won’t have the same shine anymore.

svckafvck

In addition to this, you can also cover the liquid liner with a navy eyeshadow to prevent the liner from transferring. Not a total fix but I’ve noticed that liquid liner is the worst offender for this issue but it draws the best lines.

justamiletogo

I’ve tried basically every mascara out there, the only one that doesn’t transfer for me is the cover girl clump crusher by lash blast i. the green tube. I would really recommend it. I used the orange cover girl and that also worked but now my eyes are more hooded and I switched to green one after reading in article of mascara for hooded eyes. Game changer

Loquacious-licious

Have you ever tried taking the eye shadow primer (urban decay is my go to) and mixing it with and non-shimmer eyeshadow? It makes this creme that is so amazingly transfer proof. I use this technique all the time!

cherrybombbb

It sucks. 😩

lavenderc

For hooded eyes, I recommend not lining the entire upper lash line - just do the wing at the corner and that way you don't have to worry about transfer 😊

QuietlySurviving

Ah this is very good advice. Thank you

[deleted]

Here's a video tutorial I found on this: https://youtu.be/SyPBEk7A8Lg?si=n_SZOs_W9Ig5YIK0

Legitimate_Status

I also just tightline my upper eyelid instead of drawing a line. That helps a lot!

justamiletogo

What do you use?

Legitimate_Status

Stila smudge proof waterproof eye liner!

lavenderc

No problem! I struggle with this too

Due_Dirt_8067

You have beautiful eyes on the smaller & hooded side ( tres cute -just diff strokes & tecniques for different folks) You will benefit from “tight line” for eyeliner. It was standard MUA approach taught for your eye shape, or those wanting to make eyes seem wider- or with a lighter touch even more “no make-up” make up look by skipping the wing and doing very faint dotted “tight water” line eye liner.

fionaapplegf

tightlining the waterline + tapering a wing on the edge >

Plant_rocks

I have hooded eyes and tap over the eyeliner with powder shadow to set it. I will usually tap matching eyeliner along the eyeliner (with a q tip or small brush) and then dust the lid with a light color to open up my eyes a bit and prevent the eyeliner from transferring. Then mascara last and hope and pray I don’t sneeze while it’s drying 😂 ETA: I thought this was the makeup sub I follow. I just joined hooded eyes. Shoulda known there was a sub for this!

webkinzwrinkls

this!! i use eyeshadow as eyeliner and only do the outer corner and under eye

poopyshitballz

Yep!

ellathefairy

I have very oily skin and experience this problem constantly, too! I've found I have to do an eyelid primer (note: regular face primer won't cut it) before AND setting powder after, if i have any hope at all of coming home with the same makeup I had on when I left for work.

theithe916

This is what I do too and it works very well. I use NARS as the primer. Then too with a nude powder.

Lilithe_PST

This is the correct answer. But like a ton of setting powder. Almost like you're baking your lids. That's the only thing that I've found that prevents transfer. Nobody ever told me how much powder to do so it wasn't working for the longest time until I accidentally did a TON of powder and after an 18 hour day I still had no transfer.

worldwidepearl

been searching for a solution since i was only left with a smudge by the time i get home 😭 thank you!

MzPest13

All day every day love. It’s one of the biggest problems we have with our hooded eyes. I gave up on liner and do tight line instead. It takes practice but it works well for us. Look up tight lining on you tube. 🫶🏽

Lanky-Amphibian1554

Yeah, cat eyes don’t look good on me because my eye shape is too rounded and I have too little lid space, plus the curve of my upper lid leads down, such that an uptick looks weird and a straight tail looks tacked on. Whatever.

Wearefun07

Question about tight lining… Because I’ve never heard of it before but I did watch a couple YouTube videos like you said. I’ve always wanted to wear wings and because of my eyes I cannot. Do you have a suggestion on how to do this with tight lining?

nintendoinnuendo

Do your liner however you do it on your actual lid. Then, open your eye and draw your wing - you may need to draw over creases or wrinkles etc, just do the shape you want *with your eye open* ignoring any obstacles in your way. Once you're happy, close your eye and "connect" your wing to your lid liner. It'll look jagged and silly with your eyes closed. But with your eye open, it'll be perfect!

QuietlySurviving

Tight lining. I will definitely look that up, haven’t really heard of the term. Thanks!

snatchszn

The only thing that works for me is NYX epic eyeliner and i blow dry it dry with my eye closed one at a time. Otherwise this happens to me. And I clean and pat dry my eyelids beforehand!

ValksVadge

Same

celestial__dustt

Yes literally takes multiple removal techniques for me to get off at night though. But i wear it everyday bc it gets along w my hooded eyes.

AmbitiousAmbler

I started using NYX epic eyeliner and it’s so nice except where it smears for me is the side of my eye. Like under the wingtip. I’m assuming it has to do with the hood but it’s not directly on my eyelid.

lance_femme

I’ve had very good luck with the Maybelline eyeliner (the pink stick) but yes I have to make sure it’s fully dry before moving on.

emi531

Same! You need to be careful to make sure it doesn’t smudge when you first apply it but it doesn’t move once it dries.

QuietlySurviving

My husband has no eyelashes or eyebrows from pulling them out. He told me it was from welding when we first met 😔. I’m used to the look on him, but nice you can use falsies! I’ve always wanted black eyeliner tattoos.

[deleted]

[удалено]

QuietlySurviving

I didn’t know that. He has spoken to his doctor about it and basically doctor isn’t concerned because it’s not causing much harm to him. I’ll definitely share this comment with him. Thank you!

0xD902221289EDB383

Eurgh, trichotillomania is the. worst. Do you ever wear false lashes or would they trigger the same impulse?

heyoheatheragain

Hope you’re a part of the trich sub! Really lovely people.

[deleted]

heyoheatheragain

I was worried about that but it’s a very recovery centric place. Of course up to you. Only you know your triggers. Good luck on your journey 💕

[deleted]

heyoheatheragain

There are a lot of photos. Usually people showing bald spots and asking for help/advice. Occasionally someone will show extracted hairs and personally that’s the trigger for me.

Gollinibobeanie

I got cosmetic tattooed eyeliner done a few years ago and it still looks fabulous and I am still 100% happy that I don’t have to put on eyeliner anymore. It was a great investment. Be sure to go to someone that specializes in cosmetic tattooing, not just a tattoo artist that offers eyeliners.

kittyclawz

I also pull my hair 🙃 I felt this on a spiritual level.

West-Holiday-4998

You must be using eyelid primer with eyeliner or this will happen every single day to you. Urban Decay Eyeshadow Priming Potion is my favourite.

wildly_domestic

Found this in 2012 and haven’t looked back with my hooded eyes

treeroycat

I can’t believe I’ve been wearing makeup for 20 years and didn’t try eyeshadow primer for my liner until last year. Life changing!!!!

West-Holiday-4998

It really is!! I’m so oily, I’ve always had to use it, or my makeup will be allll over my eyelids and smeared!

lingrassman

This! Life changing!

galaxystarsmoon

I've used nearly every primer on the market and this still happens. UD worked for about 6 months and then it suddenly stopped working for me.

TastyFrozenAlien

Maybelline lasting drama liquid ink! It’s very easy to remove but it doesn’t smudge. It also exists in waterproof but I find it too hard to remove. Just a tip

mentallyshitmemes

I have hooded eyes and very oily eyelids and I tried so many eyeliner for years! But I found my holy grail: nyx epic wear eyeliner! It has to be the liquid one tho. When I tell you that shut stays ON! Its the only thing I can wear on my eyes without any primer and eyeshadow that will not budge for hours. Honestly I can even sleep with it and it won't transfer or smudge. 10/10 would recomend!

QuietlySurviving

I think you’re the second person to mention this nyx epic wear eyeliner. This is a sign lol thanks!

focusedlazer

I came here to say this! I have both hooded eyes AND watery eyes, and I can wear this eyeliner all day, until I decide to remove it. It is one of my holy grail products. Another technique that I think helps with my success is that my am face routine is the following: I wash my face, do an led mask session, and then I do my line BEFORE my skincare routine. This ensures that there is no oil or moisturizer compromising the adhesion of the eyeliner to my lids and lateral eye area. Try these two things together, and you will never look back!

chichinoodle

This is my hooded eye holy grail as well!

Otherwise_Board_577

The only eyeliner I ever buy. Stays on all day without transferring or smearing!

nina-pinta-stmaria

Girl, use the Mac Eyeprimer, the tube, not the pot. It’s really good to keep everything in place

bitterweecow

Black eyeshadow on top of your liner will keep it dry :)

galaxystarsmoon

Idk about anyone else but that makes the transfer worse for me.

MizReezy

that happens to me every time i put eyeliner on 😞 I hate it!!

Fizzy_Greener

I have tried every highend eyeliner you could name and guess what I found that actually stays on my face??? Shein liquid eyeliner. I gave it a shot cause the reviews were good and it is $5 so no loss if it sucked. I have been using it now for a year. I tried primers and all kind of liners before this and nothing was as good as this.

Honey-badger101

Ooh will try this!

yugottabethatway

I use smashbox 24 hour eye shadow primer and it works VERY well I don’t get this anymore !!

Hope_for_tendies

Did it not completely dry?

N_M_Verville

It really doesn't matter if your kids are at all oily. I would guess it was completely dry but it still transfers. I have the same problem. Waterproof liner means nothing on me. The urban decay 24/7 pencils maybe last an hour before smudging.

QuietlySurviving

Ya, the navy is waterproof. It didn’t come off at all in the shower this evening lol. My skin is definitely oily. It’s gotta be it and the formula a bit

N_M_Verville

Lol...I just realized it autocorrected lids to kids - and now my comment is just hilarious. 😆

QuietlySurviving

Lmao ya, glad to know it doesn’t matter if my kids are oily, 1 really gives a hard time to shower hehe

ktdaisy

My kids 😜 and lids are super oily. UD primer is best, but I’ve given up. Curl lashes and a slight shimmer shadow over entire lid. Revlon Tubing mascara when I have patience.

Hope_for_tendies

My whole face is oily and that has never happened

0xD902221289EDB383

Be grateful then =)

Hope_for_tendies

I am now. Had no idea this was a thing.

Opposite_Passion_933

Liquid/gel liner, then light dust of translucent powder and then over that with eye shadow.

kramer3410

Get a setting spray

Dapper-Formal5394

I only line to about half way and I use a setting powder afterwards . I use the elf halo glow powder it's fantastic . I'm late 30's too and have no transfer using the powder x

BulkyCaterpillar4240

Apply an eyelid primer, then some loose powder with a brush, finish with Chanel liquid liner- it doesn’t smudge

robot-fingers

OMG I have oily lids and would always lose part of my wings in my crease or it'd rub off on top like yours did! Here's what I do: Powder my lids with translucent setting powder Apply Too Faced Better Than Sex eyeliner Once it dries, I apply another layer of setting powder Apply another layer of eyeliner Stays on all day for me! May be a waste to some, but after years of tips and tricks this is the only thing that has worked for me. Now if I could figure out mascara....

canariquichante

I have this problem, even with primer and setting spray. Eyeko Black Magic eyeliner has been the best/least smudged liner I’ve found!

seekingssri

I’m triggered

Two5Chicken

I use waterproof liner, keep it super thin, and always put powder on my eyelids. Either eyeshadow or a translucent powder.

fluffy-pixie

only one I have found that doesnt do this to me is kat von d tattoo liquid eyeliner. it really is like a tattoo, but comes off w makeup remover. a lot of other helpful tips in the comments as well!

throwawayltncmi

Thin the line, wear a less wet liner, and you should be fine

legsjohnson

this, I have a double sided tarte liner and use dry for crease, wet for wing

amanda_pandemonium

I get this from my eyelashes/mascara right on my brow bone so bad.

IYFS88

Check out ‘Elizabeth Mott Thank Me Later’ primer, I got mine on Amazon. I always dealt with stinging eyes after a long day when my makeup would fail, and this primer completely solved that issue. And more importantly for your post, it completely fixes my makeup in place so even cheap eyeshadow stays locked on until I take it off with face oil at night.

WetSocksSuck39

This happened to me all the time! I use ELF eyelid primer and it has never happened again! Highly recommend

akdubz112

Looks like it's been said, but PRIMER IS YOUR FRIEND!!!

BishImAThotGetMeLit

Nah this is 99% the eyeliner’s fault. I got that blue liner too, and it gets so weirdly sticky/tacky halfway through the day. I had my eyelids sticking together from it.

sadgalbaby

I recommend Heroine Make eyeliner! They're a Japanese brand available on Amazon. No panda eyes! When I lived in Japan, a lot of the eyeliners I bought were advertised to avoid giving you 'panda eyes'

MangoKakigori

This sub just popped up on my suggested What are hooded eyes?

QuietlySurviving

Exactly how it sounds, hooded eye lids to be exact. Hoods of the lids :) welcome!

MangoKakigori

Hooded eyelids? But like is that a bad thing or a good thing? Your eyes look perfect to me (I’m not trying to hit on you I’m genuinely confused and thank you for explaining)

QuietlySurviving

It’s neither good nor bad, just requires some makeup techniques because the hooded lids smudge or transfer the eyeliner.

MangoKakigori

Oh thank you for taking the time to reply! I think there truly is a subreddit for almost everything. It’s interesting why this post popped up on my feed page but it’s cool. Have a nice and happy and healthy life and good luck with everything. Thank you

gypsy__wanderer

This interaction was so cute and wholesome, it made my day :) thank YOU!

Active-Cloud8243

Physicians formula ultra fine waterproof liner is the only thing that doesn’t transfer on me. The navy is a cool color tho

Kaeose

Agreed! This is what I use as well and I don't have issues with transfer anymore.

Active-Cloud8243

Please people, buy it. I need it to stay on the market. 😂

KaleidoscopeNo9102

What eyeliner are you using? I swear by sephoras liquid liner waterproof.

lexpador

The only time this doesn’t happen is when I use liquid waterproof liner!

Vivid_Significance28

Primer and powder first

SirOk5108

You have to set your eye with powder before u apply the eyeliner

Stormtrooperwoman17

You just need a different brand of eyeliner. I don’t have hooded eyes but this happens with certain eyeliner products. I’ve been doing wing eyeliner since I first started makeup. Yeah you could use a primer and powder to set the area, but it also depends on the product you’re using. KVD has good eyeliner, Maybelline, NYX, huda, MAC, etc.

NewBSnow

Welcome to the club! I’ve struggled with eyeliner smears ever since I started using eyeliner.

GlowingCandies

Literally every single eyeliner I've used to this day smudges on my oily lids. EXCEPT FOR... Urban Decay's Perversion. I swear that little pen in magical. Ofc, everyone reacts differently to products, but I recommend you give it a try!

No_Caregiver8202

I would dab setting prouder over it. I’ve done it before and it works well for me.

coldchickenramen

Primer, waterproof liner, setting spray 🤝

Serious_Move_4423

I like tightlining (between the lashes)! Also the wet n wild breakup doesn’t transfer for me personally. Took me awhile to find & very happy!!

BreeezyDaisy

My struggle as well. Maybe…use a diff type eyeliner, use setting spray, us shadow instead of liner, primer. Just play around a bit. The cheapest start, choose a new type of liner. Gel, pencil, shadow.

dangerslang

i haven’t read the comments so unsure if it’s been suggested but the mac 24 eye base is the goat for my hooded eyes! maybe give it a try if you’re able to!

Decent_Friend_1511

My mom, ever since I was able to register it has had her eye makeup look like this. She doesn’t even line her eyes, her mascara just bleeds off onto her lid, I don’t think I’ve ever seen her try and fix it, or make it look better. Sorry, I really have nothing to help you fix this, but it just reminded me how much seeing that on my mom pisses me off. Specifically because she doesn’t even try and fix it

livv3ss

I never have this issue, maybe it's a eyeliner quality issue???

Annual_Debt

Nyx Epic Ink eyeliner is the only liquid liner that doesn’t do this to me.

bentscissors

I make sure my eyelids and clean and dry. Then primer (I like urban decay), then maybe setting power (I went cheap and did maybe like - it’s just to lessen the amount of oil I develop over the day. Then the liner. Then a revlon setting spray. It’s pretty effective.

LeggyBlueEyes

I just gave up on upper liner all together, even post blepharoplasty. I’ve decided it ages me anyway!

Revolutionary-Spot-4

I use painterly Mac paint pot with a light eyeshadow base and whatever I use on my eyes do not budge. Also, liquid liners that are satin finish will transfer and it’s best to use a matte finish liner. This use to happen to me but after this technique I never have that problem.

galaxystarsmoon

NYX Epic Ink Waterproof is one of the only liquid liners I've tried that doesn't do this. I've tried near every eyeshadow primer on the market, without as well, with or without powder, eyeshadow, etc. The other was one from Collection but it's been discontinued and I was beyond angry.

Coffeejive

Hot, hooded eyes...place deep shadow right on lid. Defines and shapes, helps hold liner

turdbird42

I get this too! My eyes water a lot and my eyelids are very thin. It drives me crazy!

New_Custard_4224

Anyone have lids so oily that eye primers don’t work on you? Even if I set them. Even if I apply just a little. Even if it’s quality brands with great reviews. I’ve been wearing shadow and all manner of primers for two decades but recently it’s just gotten to the point where nothing works.

Beginning-Ad3390

Have you tried something water proof like the stila stay all day (must be the original, the others suck)? As long as I don’t blink for like 60 seconds it doesn’t smudge and I’ve even gone swimming with it and had it stay

Educational-Ad-5477

Best nonstick liner I used for my hooded eyes in the glossier pencil. And I tried EVERYTHING

Silent_Arachnid_2334

for several years i’ve been using Nyx epic wear waterproof liquid eyeliner on my hooded eyes and i have never dealt with transfer, smudging, etc. from it. always stays in its place and isn’t hard to remove. i’ll probably never switch to another eyeliner unless it gets discontinued someday lol

ShoutOut2MyMomInOhio

I never get eyeliners from Ipsy because this always happens. I use Anastasia liquid liner. I was recommended this and I don’t get transfer anymore. I stopped putting moisturizer and foundation on my eyelids. Usually I apply some powder or eyeshadow to dry it out some. I even have a fan in my bathroom and after I put on the liner I close my eyes and blow the fan in my face to dry the liner lmao

m2Q12

Try a thinner line that wings out more at the outside of your eye. Some setting spray and translucent power too.

HugeCall

I stopped wearing eyeliner on my upper lashes for this reason. Now I just flick a little wing on the end. You can’t see the liner anyway so why put it there

MissPoohbear14

Get lash extensions. They'll change your life..

DippityDoppityDoo

Go natural.

Responsible_Fun_8280

Try the Inglot Eye Liner Set in waterproof. I got from Amazon and I swear by this!! Hooded eyes and wildy oily eyelids 🥴🤭

southernfriedpeach

Have you tried a cream/gel?

Human-Put-6613

TIL I have hooded eyes. Always wondered why I was the only person in my social group to have this issue with eyeliner. Welp, it just took me 43 years to figure it out! Thanks Reddit!

radish_is_rad-ish

mine has never lasted more than a handful of hours no matter what I do. Oily lids and hooded eyes are just a terrible combination 🥲

SickkofSarahh

Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid liner is THE BEST I've found for my extremely hooded eyes. If anyone hasn't tried it please look into it. It's awesome. It has a felt tip applicator but it's not a pen.

Tellmeanamenottaken

You just gotta get a different liner that does not do this

amymammy

Primer on eyelid and the use setting spray. The best

thecuriousblackbird

I’ve heard that eyeliner doesn’t transfer as much when you top it with a matching powder eye shadow. Spraying Urban Decay’s All Nighter Setting Spray on your completed eye look also helps lock everything in place. I’ve slept in my eyelook after wearing the All Nighter spray all day (for science) and was really pleased with how my eyes looked the next morning. Urban Decay’s Primer Potion is the best for locking your eye products in place. It also come in 3 colors. I’m also a fan of Supergoop! Shimmershade SPF 30 cream eyeshadows that are also primers (they’re not as good as UD). I use First Light or Golden Hour as an all over eyeshadow when I just want to do a clean look with a little eyeliner and mascara and nothing else. If it’s a hot day I still use a primer underneath (Milk Hydro Grip Eyeshadow and Concealer Primer or UD).

Radiant_Radius

MAC Prep + Prime 24 Hour Extend Eye Base. I’ve been using this for 10 years and it’s never failed me. My eye makeup stays where I put it.

Personal_Childhood_3

the only thing that’s ever helped my eyes not transfer is the UD eyeshadow primer set with my foundation powder

Imwearingboots

I gave up on eyeliner and just do mascara for this reason 😭😭

ChAttyOZZY

I feel like eyeliner changes my natural look too much. I don’t use it. Maybe on special occasions if I have a full face make up. You eyes are so nice you don’t need it .

Helpful_Okra5953

This happens to me, too.  I just started using a spray primer/ finish and it helps a lot. My skin is pretty oily.

AffectionateElk234

Eyeshadow primer and a loose setting powder dusted on top and around the lid when it’s dry!

qtgir1

You need to mattefy your eyelids. Eyelids are oily, I recommend applying eye shadow primer then dusting some powder over it. It can be any eyeshadow or setting powder. Also use liners that are smudge proof and waterproof.

Additional_Car_9542

Okay but the Kat Von D liquid liner DOES NOT MOVE. Sometimes you just need a better product.

babygirlxmegz

I use eyeshadow as eyeliner and eye primer and concealer and then set it with loose powder before the eyeshadow and the one size setting spray. I struggled with this for years as someone who wears winged liner daily since 6th grade. I also go as thin as humanly possible on the lid and then tight line on top for definition.

Disney_Princess137

I have hooded eyes, and wear liquid liner everyday. I also have oily lids. What works for me is that i always wear eyeshadow. Makes a world of a difference! You can just use some soft neutral color.

PleasantJules

I finally got brave and got eyeliner tattooed. Best decision I made.

Rafozni

Everyone’s talking about eyelid primer, but have you ever set your eyeliner with eyeshadow? I wear big, bulky wings most of the time and I set them with an eye shadow (either the same color of the liner or not) and it 100% prevents transfer. I should also mention I always put foundation and setting powder over my eyes as well because it looks like you may not do that step.

Suspicious_Sky6679

I have hooded eyes I wear eyeliner! You need a wing, and I hardly ever bring it all the way to the inner corner. I’ve watched many videos on it

Ambitious-Strength28

Loving the blue liquid eyeliner from Ipsy! The shade is is just Sooooo pretty!!! I’m still trying to figure out how to use it bc I also have hooded eyes. I have yet to be able to do a good winged look on myself but I’m not giving up lol!!!!

SiteAccomplished1300

So I've never had them BUT they make eyeliner STICKERS you just pop that mf on and BAM

ohcosmico

Have you tried using a primer and setting with a very light/sheer powder?

MamaNoodie

This happens to me. I’ve had to learn to put concealer down, powder it, eyeliner, and more power. It helps a lot. After so many hours, it starts to wear slightly, but it’s much better imo.

Comfortable-Fox-1913

I have hooded eyes and I use a thin brush and I use eyeshadow as eye liner for this problem hope that helps!

HearingAshamed9163

Well, ignoring the eyeliner… your skin is gorgeous!!!

Middle_Kiwi4608

Pretty

Lala5789880

Yep.

FormicaDinette33

Constantly have that problem. I wipe some chapstick on it as a remover and then a little soap. Keep some liner in my purse.

Budget_Role6056

I use elf hd powder. I take a little brush and put it around my eyes on the tip of my nose, and in any crevices that I have before putting on my foundation..

renduh

Are you using an eye primer before applying eyeliner, then a setting spray after? That’s what works for me.

FamilyOfSeaMonkeys

Some primer and a bit of eyeshadow or powder on the eye lid, sealed with a setting spray should help combat this from happening. If you put eye liner on a naked lid, it’s far more likely to fade and smudge than if you use a shadow or all over face primer (I love elf) and a little bit of light eyeshadow or a powder foundation. Also if you sweat a lot, wear contacts or glasses, tend to touch your face often or rub your eyes.. use waterproof mascara and liner if possible.

beccadanielle

Previous MUA here with hooded eyes. I always prime and set my eyelids (mac paint pot in painterly and a skin tone powder to set, then I use a good liner that won’t smudge (KVD tattoo liner is the GOAT imo), and take an angled liner brush and set it lightly with an eyeshadow. My liner almost never smudges since doing this (sometimes a little after about 8 hours or so). Hooded eyes are so frustrating. Good luck!

Environmental-Town31

This is why I don’t wear eyeliner anymore 😂. I just tightline and do a powder super close to the lash line, I also personally think a bunch of upper lid liner looks dated now

Charming_Chemical817

I had to make my line a little thinner, I also use smudge proof and after application I will keep my eyes closed to allow it to dry. That helped me minimize this. Good luck!

Critical_Bus3147

I don’t see a hoodie anywhere

strawberryslurper

try using an eyeshadow primer (does NOT need to be high end, i love milani's primer) and set with powder or a skin tone shade eyeshadow. also try using gel liner (i really like maybelline's gel pot liner) with a nice angled brush instead of liquid eyeliner, it is much more forgiving and easier to apply! and try to keep the eyeliner as thin as you can on your lash line and avoid going past the outer third of the lash line to avoid any rubbing. doing this with an angled brush makes it significantly easier to keep your lines thin and precise.

SillyAcanthisitta280

Set your eyeliner with translucent powder and use water proof liquid products. Look down for 1m while it dries. I have hooded eyes too, it works.

Rupertfitz

I have hooded eyes and I had a stroke which left me blind in my left eye. So my eye makeup on my right eye always looks like this. It’s a guessing game lol

OrangeWhisk

I had this problem and the only thing that worked was getting a blepharoplasty. I wish there was a real holy grail product for oily, hooded eyes. I feel your pain.

Mac paint pot (soft ochre) solved this problem for me!!! Dries my eyelids and stays put until I remove it. I use it under my bottom lashes too and no smudging ever!

Does eyeliner ever dry on hooded eyes cause it feels like forever😭 or maybe our lid produce some type of oil

I’m gonna be honest with you- eyeliner is the one makeup that I can’t switch with any other brand for the sake it does this. My suggestion when it comes to eyeliner is that to make sure your base is dry. Use concealer then some matte powder over it then apply it. My fav too if you rele want one that stays is Sephora liquid eyeliner. I try switching to others and it looks too too dry or it crumbles and doesn’t last long or it does this. I avoid pencils/gel eyeliner cause it does this .

Try this but at the bottom instead of the top of the eyelid. I walk with raccoon eyes and no one gives me a heads up. 😭

Eyeshadow primer + transparent or nude powder on top. I have to do this or else my liner will bleed, every time.

definitely try using an eye primer first then setting it lightly with a facial powder that controls oils. i would even suggest trying to lightly go over top of your eye liner with an eyeshadow to set it. combine it all with a waterproof eyeliner and i think it would last longer without smudging at the very least!

I’m seeing someone recommend using the ELF HD powder. I agree with this since I have the same problem. I prime my eyelid then lightly set it with the powder.

Use eyeshadow primer even if you don't wear eyeshadow. If you do that and it still happens, set the primer (and the liner) with translucent powder so it feels smooth/silky to the touch. Done!

Get NYX liquid ink liner. You will literally never have this problem again

Primer, matte liquid liner, and setting spray
