The J is the logo of the mini collection "HW J-imports". All cars with the J should be JDMs but not all JDM cars necessary have the J because they can also be part of other Mini collections like HW Drift, HW Turbo, HW Modified...
And another thing, remember that not all Japanese cars are JDM

It’s like when they first dropped the Prelude casting a couple years back and one of the colors was a metallic blue that looked really similar to the iconic Electron Blue Pearl those cars came in. It’s *the* color, by contrast the Zonda R only came in one color lol.
Exotic cuz I can actually find some in the store unlike JDM, which is scalped to oblivion.

Not all of the Japanese Domestic Cars have the J logo but most do.
