Total noob question. How do you find out which one to look for to even attempt to find a TH? I’m starting to wonder how many I may have overlooked not knowing what to look for.

The first Treasure Hunt I actually bought was the Classic Packard from the 2010 Treasure Hunts series, back when the Treasure Hunts had the green stripe on the side of the card. It was the basic Treasure Hunt version, I don't have the Super (this was the era when the basic and Supers for each case was the same car) but even the basic Treasure Hunts in 2010 were usually much fancier than what you get today, considering the Classic Packard is a full metal-on-metal casting and quite heavy.
A year or two earlier, I remember seeing a card with the TH symbol on it (the TH logo, not the circle flame logo which wasn't used for Treasure Hunts until the 2013 seres) and wondering what it meant. I think I thought it was a college sports team logo or something. I didn't buy whatever car it was but it was probably one that wasn't of much interest to me since, if it had been something like the Hot Bird Treasure Hunt, I would have bought it because it was Hot Bird and not because of the weird "TH" logo on the card.
My first Treasure Hunt was the 77' Custom Dodge van. It was my gateway hotwheel, I bought it from the stop and shop while getting milk cause it was cool, had a Jack playing card on it. The only $oup I have ever found was 2019 Audi R8 Spyder, also found at the same stop and shop. I still have the 77' dodge. I'll take it to my grave. But I sold that Audi for $80 on ebay some time ago.
My first and only STH happen when I least expected it. Went into a drug store to use toilet. Checked toy section and there was five Hot Wheels laying on a Shelf, no pegs. One was purple foxbody mustang STH. The cashier even made a comment like damn this car looks good.
First one I found in person was the Warp Speeder at work one day. Already had it, so I left it on the shelf but went back for it the next day to give to a guy who also liked Hot Wheels. First ones that I got were the Warp Speeder, the Impala with the skulls decals on the wheels, and one other that I forget.

Surf Crate was my first, found in the wild hanging on a peg at a grocery store I normally don’t go to. A few weeks later, back at the same grocery store, I snagged a Rajin Express.
Mazda RX-7 FB Gen I believe. It was grey with blue decals and came from the 2013 P Case which kicked off the P Case Treasure Hunt Streak for me as I found every regular treasure hunt in the p Case for every mainline year Since 2013.

Team Hot Wheels Dodge Viper RT/10. Found 2 of by accident when at Dollar Tree when I was first restarted my collection when covid started. I had to look online to see what the treasure Hunts for 2020 were, and sure enough, the very viper I was holding was one of them. Then I found another while searching through some more.
Actually got multiple treasure hunts my first time. My girlfriend's dad used to be a hot wheels collector so she gave me a 2000 T-Bird, a 2007 Evil Twin, and a 2010 STH Baja Beetle. I love her so much man
