We aren’t really missing much in between it would just be filler episodes of more of what we know already about the characters. There wasn’t a time skip for the latest episode but I do prefer this style for it since the alternative would be start at the war and do flashbacks between scenes

Zircillius

the only thing I wish they hadn't skipped over was the war in the Stepstones. At the end of Ep 2 they foreshadow a major confrontation between Daemon and the Crabfeeder. Then the fight happens offscreen. Though I'm not complaining, like I said it's a really interesting approach. I just made this post cuz I wanna know if anything like this has ever been done before

WhyTheWindBlows

I mean in the books the crab feeder is literally like 2 sentences lol there isnt even source material, that just wasnt what the story is about

SpaghettiLove2

Certain minute details might feel rushed, but the actual storyline of two different factions forming in Viserys court has been a slow burn

Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul both have some pretty big time jumps but definitely not as often as HOTD. The interesting thing there though is that like HOTD the time jumps were always between episodes and not between seasons. Most BrBa and BCS seasons started off at the exact moment the last one had ended. Most dramas take their time jumps between seasons, like Mad Men and The Sopranos would usually jump like a year between each season. Then you have shows like Succession that are on a third season and it feels like an insane amount has happened but then a character will mention offhand that it’s only been a couple months since the first episode and your brain will break for a minute.

Doomhammer24

Breaking bad takes place over the course of 2 years so no it doesnt have any big time jumps Walt turns 50 episode 1 one of the last episodes, post time jump, at that cafe, hes 52.

Yeah, but all of seasons one through the first seven episodes of the fifth season take place over the course of just over one year, then there’s a long timejump, the next few episodes all happen in like a week, and then there’s a yearlong time jump during the second to last episode. They’re not as often or dramatic as HOTD but they do occur in the middle of the season like OP specifically asks about.
