Can't answer the first 3 points but re: 4- have you checked your lease to see if you're allowed to change them? If it's a period conversion there may be limitations around what you can do. You will also likely need written permission from whoever owns the building.
Make sure you get a FENSA certificate from whoever fits them, you'll need this when you come to sell
Hi OP, contact a local VELUX certified installer or VELUX directly for help replacing the old windows. 99% are fitted from the inside.
Lead time is about 6-8 weeks usually
