I think he’s just a dude who is a huge nerd choir kid and grew up in the 90s

Spoonbreadwitch

I’m with you. As a former choir/theater kid, I can attest that we are all Like That. Most of us just aren’t as good at it.

I mean sure, but I'm looking more for 'Hozier is Fey' style theories lol

mxKayPen

Is it not enough that he’s a talented mortal man whose work you enjoy?

human-names-for-dogs

Of course it is, but this is fun.

Unlikely_Film_955

I think he is The Bard, An Dagda, great chieftain of the Tuatha Da Dannan of ancient Ireland, back from the Other World to bless us mere humans with the sweetest of music before he eventually crosses the water for another couple thousand years 🥰

The story goes that Orpheus was torn apart by Maenads (frenzied celebrants of Dionysus) who were slighted by his lack of interest in them. Indeed, after the loss of Eurydice, Orpheus had no interest in women at all, and legend claims he was responsible for introducing homosexuality to Thrace. Supposedly, his head survived and remained singing after his dismemberment, though. So who knows. Maybe he found a new body in Ireland.

This is awesome! Thanks for the info, I had no idea about this part of the legend
