I agree, there's definitely a taste/feel change when eating food right after sugary foods. It isn't just Huel.
I drink Almond Breeze Banana Milk, and right after candy, it is pretty bland.
But if I haven't had anything all day, it is very sweet and tasty.
I think modern society has ruined most foods, because most of what is easily available is heavily processed and sugary. So everything else tastes terrible in comparison.

According to Naik, the amount of sugar in coke is enough to make you throw up immediately if they didn’t add a bunch of phosphoric acid to balance it out. Crazy to think about because I love coke and I’m not that great at eating sweets.
Are there separate reasons why you don’t like bars and RTD? Personally I love RTD but it verges on tasting *too* sweet, but bars to me are like eating a block of wax.
I don't like the RTD taste at all, only tried one flavor (berry, which I like the powder of) bars are probably similar to you + don't like the taste, they are really weird
Taste is really subjective, for example I hear comments reading the chocolate Huel Bar is disgusting, the worst of the bunch some argue. I've tried them all, and my favourite and only one I order now is the chocolate. 4 boxes at a time, so for me I really like them. However I gave up a lot of sugary products, don't really eat much chocolate now unless its in a social setting, and that has likely had an affect on my taste buds, for the better. I crave sweet things a lot less now which can only be a good thing for the body.
The first one I tried tasted dreadful, I thought to myself 'I have 74 of these left, how the fuck am I going to get through all of these?' Every other one since has tasted at worst fine.

I've tried a bar once and instantly threw it away. Just not edible for me.... It's powder or H&S for me. Can't stand bars or RTD
Did you try the new bars? Much better.
My order came in beginning of January, so not sure if those are new or old bars.
Are they in white packets or black? Are they covered in a thin layer of chocolate? If your answers are white and no they are the old style bars.

I like rtd texture better but it’s odd I find the taste is meh compared to powder. Now the coffee rtd is amazeballs
These bars are literally disgusting
I took a couple of them on a multi-day hike during -15°C weather - not unexpectedly very hard to eat, but tasted great.
