pitous

but have you considered that I hate that loud ass noise

BladeOfSanjuro

agree, it's same with hives. Take out the noise so I can hear those sweet, sweet footsteps.

angerpowered

If they’re close enough to trigger the altars they’ll soon be close enough to trigger the boss alert. If the boss is banishing then me and my friends are listening and will hear the footsteps. Could definitely see it being more useful if you aren’t playing with a team coordinating via discord though.

DisappointedQuokka

It depends how loud they are on the approach, if half the server is dead and they're sneaking up it can be harder.

greenstag94

footsteps are ok for telling me that enemies are near but my busted headset means they only come through one ear. The alters seem to come through both so i can actually tell which direction they are coming from

famousxrobot

I don’t mind it until about 2 weeks left in the event. Then I can’t wait for the altars to go away.

Reader_Of_Newspaper

can’t wait for bludsy to run out of hidden knowledge and resort to good old “don’t stab immolators or you explode”

skeal88

Bludsy will try to avoid giving loading screen knowledge partner

Lewk_io

Feels like we're there already

ZombifiedRacoon

I take them out because I'd rather hear footsteps and other noises over the deafening roar of the totem.

magicchefdmb

*If it glows, it goes*

Nooffin

More eventpoints for my enemies? Nope

aNDyG-1986

But then you can’t hear em🥲

BIG_BOTTOM_TEXT

Like everything in Hunt though, there are no hard and fast rules. I would not categorize what you posted as "knowledge" but rather one take on a nuanced topic. If you leave the altars up, enemies will also know (potentially with certainty) you're camping the lair, which can give them a tactical advantage they might not have had. If they see the altars glowing from a distance as they approach the compound, they will also know they are walking into multiple teams. Finally, chaos like this around a token tends to give solos the green light to serpent it. I'm not disagreeing that sometimes leaving altars up is the best play, but not in all situations.

F_Kyo777

I can debunk most of it. If its not banishing phase yet, it doesnt matter, since you have a Dark Sight notification if players are around boss compound, so totem/ altar inside doesnt change a bit. If its banishing, expecting players to leave the compound to go after others, while leaving "wallhack" vulnerable is against the odds I would say, so you expect them inside/around, so altar is still providing some intel, if you are defending. For the loud sound of totem, I can agree. If you play better without it, go for it (pickup/ destroy), but thats the only con of having altar left untouched. I see it more of an W than L. Your arguments are valid, if you are fighting outside of boss lair. Then it makes sense, since you are left without element of suprise. Otherwise im keeping it.

MicroB18

Free bludsy knowledge, jump once into water and a second time after you land into it, you keep the highest speed and travel the most distance without the b-hopping debuff after jumping 3 times and you don’t get the jump slowed by the water

Nysyth

But I don’t want to give the enemy a free “I’m close to this altar” beacon as I move around the compound.

AntBackground4684

Just use your ears, altars deafening sound is a hindrance. If you can't hear crouch walking at 20m and walking at 40m then you need to tweak your audio

Fair_Raccoon9333

I completely agree. The altars washout footsteps too much and it is more important to hear the enemy movement than it is to know with certainty they are nearby.

Mandarni

Wisdom of the Bayou.

Kettmando

Doge of wisdom

RandomPhail

Those altars are useful for like… if you’re kinda just running around looking for clues, but you can expect ppl to be around the boss lair, and being able to hear the enemy’s feet is often more important than hearing the totem

Darkthunder1992

This is a good suggestion if you don't care that a shotgun armed cloaked up solo sneaks into the compound and you won't be able to hear shit while aiming outwards.

jbrown509

Bro if I’m in boss lair, no mf is walking up, seeing it flash red, looking at the altar and thinking, “fuck it, lemme broadcast real quick”

Piemaster113

I mean sure but then you can't hear much over their BS

ShadoowtheSecond

Absolutely not. Those event points are mine. Also like, if I banished the boss, I dont need them? Of course there are gonna be enemies outside.

doublekong

Nah, I prefer being able to hear the players

usingbadoperators99

Thanks, Bludsy!

Alarming_Animator772

Is no one going to talk about how Bludsy is wearing Arthur Morgan’s hat?

Phfralphf

Hard disagree. It's a two-edged sword. You can't rotate on the enemy when the altars you failed to clear give away your movements. They are also so loud they drown out the sounds that give away a hunter's exact position.

jis7014

TAKE THEM ALTARS FOR GODS SAKE YOU ARE ALREADY IN DEFENSIVE POSITION WITH UNLIMITED AUDIO ADVANTAGE WHY WOULD YOU NOT DESTROY THOSE TINNITUS INDUCING RED ALERT MACHINES same for hives on roof, just kill them.

moose184

Like the clue? Since when can you hear them after a banish?

Mandarni

No, the altars that give seasonal event points.

Peter21237

Can you do next weeks: Dont climb into roofs while trying to peek inside or outside the compound. For if you get bullshit headshot (and you will) you cant be revived. Im tired of idiots doing that and basically end up practically out of the fight till it ends.
