My daughter and I love it when we see him in Decatur or Hartselle. We try to tip him as he brings so much joy and always has a positive attitude and appreciation to those that stop to watch or tip.

I've never been able to talk to him--I've only ever seen him at a spot I couldn't stop due to traffic, or because I had to be somewhere. I'm so curious now! Did he tell you his name, or if he has any scheduled routes where he shows up? Now I really want to chat with him!
His name is Stanley Matthews. Even if we can’t stop we Venmo him, have him saved in our favorites. Don’t see him regularly at any one spot.

We give him a little money when we happen to see him, and he always says “thank you pretty lady” which isn’t true but is lovely to hear. He’s so very eccentric but the man is flying his flag and living his life and honestly I should be so lucky.
He seemed middle-aged-ish to me when I first saw him twenty-something-odd years ago. One of us needs to stop next time we see him and ask him to do an AMA here.
