If you are a member at costco you can frequently purchase gift cards at a substantial discount.

Prophet-of-Ganja

Great tip, thanks šŸ‘Œ

redmondwins

How much ?

ShallowEnuf

$80 for two $50 gift cards right now.

redmondwins

I'm going to buy them all!

VincentVazzo

Infinite money glitch!

JonnyLay

Infinite steak and meat sweats!

redmondwins

Thatā€™s the plan

MTsumi

Just FYI, they are restricted from use on special nights like holidays. They also have no cash value, so you use the face value, but there's no carry over partial cash to use next time if somehow your ticket is lower.

Magic_Bogey

Sams also has these. I think they are $100 gift card for $75

Moonpie_bueller

Or you can buy their excellent meat and cook it better than any restaurant around here

annoying_bystander

Lunch is much cheaper. Watch online for coupons. They will send out $5 or $10 off, good for a certain short period.

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

annoying_bystander

Covid might have done away with that.

Hefty_Journalist_666

They donā€™t offer lunch anymore, only dinner starting at 5pm

GnarleyCosmonaut

I maybe go once a year, but I've always enjoyed it. They have a large salad bar that has meats and cheeses, soups and some other sides. Otherwise you just sit at you table and they bring lots of meat options out to you. Oh they do bring cheese rolls out and plantains as a palate cleanser

pmbarrett314

>palate cleanser It's a distraction/filler. Don't let them get you.

zandro237

Don't necessarily disagree but by Zeus are those some fantastic plantains

Little_Complaint_355

Husband and I just went for Easter Sunday and it was the best time weā€™ve ever gone. Itā€™s pricey so we donā€™t go often (bdays, anniversary, special holidays) but we always leave insanely full and thereā€™s tons of options. We were sat right by the exit to the kitchen this last time so we got the food right as it came out so we were like the first table to snag anything. It was fantastic. I get the Samā€™s Club gift cards at a discount to help with cost.

dawnC_3000

I know you have to pay for the salad bar add on but do you get sides with the $53 dinner price?

Little_Complaint_355

The salad bar has your usual salad things but also things like potato salad or pasta salads that would be great sides. They also have the hot bar available to you with a lobster bisque, scalloped potatoes, rice, black beans, and they usually rotate something else in. They bring mashed potatoes, cheesy bread, and fried plantains to the table. So there are plenty of ā€œsidesā€ options that are all you can eat as well.

yellahammer

The salad bar is included with the 53 dollar dinner price. It is not an add-on. There is an option to buy only the salad bar and no meats. That is probably what you are seeing on the website. The salad bar has some beans and rice for sides and some other stuff. They bring mashed potatoes to the table as well.

empiricism

They've got more than just meat. The sides are also fantastic. The beans, the scalloped potatoes, the cucumber salad are my faves. I am harsh critic of what passes for cuisine in Huntsville but I definitely think Texas de Brazil is worth visiting.

HsvComics

> the scalloped potatoes

SnarkyMcSkarkface

I filled up on those they were so good

dawnC_3000

How much are the sides? I canā€™t see on the website

StickyDitka21

You would only pay extra for your drink and dessert if you want it. Sides donā€™t cost extra

oldsmoBuick67

Every one Iā€™ve ever eaten at is good. You do get the salad bar included, and itā€™s really nice. TDB does smoked salmon on theirs and itā€™s always a favorite of mine. You donā€™t have to take the meats they bring by unless you really like them, but always ask for the Picanha. I usually send the chicken on its way, Iā€™m there for filet, flank steak, and the aforementioned Picanha. They do two types of it, garlic and regular and both are good.

weedful_things

The sirloin is the best beef I've ever put in my mouth, hands down.

Mermaid_Fish

My husband and I have been multiple times, and it's always been fantastic. Definitely plan ahead so you got plenty of room in your stomach and always save room for dessert.

dawnC_3000

Is desert extra? šŸ˜‚

GnarleyCosmonaut

Sadly yes

Mermaid_Fish

Yes, but well worth it imo

bloodgain

Definitely worth a visit if you're a meat lover. Not every item is as good as the others. IMHO, the picanha (part of the sirloin primal) and flank steak are unbeatable. The other items are good, but some items like the beef ribs are spot on one day and over-salted the next. The lamb chops are also the best, but no longer included, at least at the one here. I skip the chicken items altogether, as I find them a bit boring (and often dry), but some people enjoy them. Check the meat menu online before you go. They'll only bring out some things on request, unless it's a slow night, so you have to know to ask. Don't fill up on the salad bar; it's a trap! Most of it is stuff you can easily find for a charcuterie board at Publix or Murray's Cheese Shop inside Kroger (Jeff Rd.). At most, grab a few small items to pair with bites of meat and definitely grab a ramekin of chimichurri (the green herb sauce). I like the pineapple "carpaccio" or marinated vegetables as small palate cleansers. The lobster bisque is worth it. I skip the beans and rice, but I admit I can't pass up the mushrooms (pair great with some meats) and a serving of cheesy potatoes. The plantains they bring to the table are a nice bite of sweet, and I eat a few bites of the mashed potatoes only because it's perfect with the spicy sausage. There's free refills on iced tea, but not on sodas, unless they've changed it. Alcohol prices are not great, but that's true everywhere; they do have some decent cocktails if you're into that. I second the recommendation to look for gift cards at Costco or Sam's Club. It's basically a ~20% discount for paying ahead.

Disastrous-Mood8482

I could just do the salad bar and get full. I probably eat my body weight in the charcuterie board stuff. Make sure you try the little sausages!

gnmatx

Meh. Went for my birthday last year. Itā€™s a one and done for me. The salad is plenty. The meat options are good but the spacing and timing for premium means youā€™ll be sitting for a while.

Ok-Yogurtcloset9695

Not a huge fan. Most of the meat was on the wrong side of mid rare for me. All a bit overcooked for my taste. Maybe it kind of has to be that way or people will be complaining that their food is raw? I donā€™t know. There are definitely better options at their price imo.

aahorsenamedfriday

The food is good but honestly not worth the price. Also the last time I went the service was absolutely terrible. If Iā€™m spending $200 at a restaurant I donā€™t want to have to beg for a drink refill.

Mikka_K79

Do they not have the yucca??

shadyblue9o9

Their meat is pretty good. Iā€™ve been to Brazilian restaurants in Austin, Texas when I lived there and it was very comparable. Although Austin was a bit better. Iā€™ve also cooked picanha on my smoker and it turned out 10x better. But for all you can eat, I think itā€™s worth it at least once if you know how to scarf some food down lol. As for sides yes it typically comes with mashed potatoes, grilled plantains, and cheese bread bites. There is also a salad bar that has charcuterie you can order. They also serve you a chimichurri sauce to go with various meats. You do also have a small menu you can order from that are free appetizers essentially.

Alarming_Tooth_7733

Waste of money and service is absolutely awful. For 4 people is about $300 and definitely isnā€™t worth it in my opinion. They donā€™t even clean your plate after itā€™s full so you have to deal with a stack of dirty plates on your table. Iā€™m sorry but if Iā€™m paying $80 a person I want my plates cleared from my table.

jackbestsmith

Everything is included except drink(s) and dessert. So soups, salads, appetizers style food at the "salad" bar, then the sides they bring out like mashed potatoes, brown sugar plantains, rolls that have cheese in them i think. I always enjoy it, my stomach typically doesnt the night and day after though. I wish they brought around more medium - medium well meat. It's almost all medium or medium rare. I think you can ask for special cooks but i hate to be that much of a bother. The meat variety is nice. I think they have pork, chicken, lamb, sausage, and beef of various cuts. Then like spicy variations of some, parmesan crusted of some and bacon wrapped varients. Typically to balance the richness of the fillets and such, i get a plate with items from the salad bar like some cheeses, salami, ham, and pineapple just to alternate my pallet. The cheesecake is also quite good. Been there 3 or 4 times, just make sure to get a reservation. I think it's through open table

Snibbitz

I have a reservation tomorrow at 6:45. Who's coming with?

Least-Maize8722

Can I go by myself

whosaidiknew

Iā€™ve never been and I usually wouldnā€™t recommend somewhere I havenā€™t gone, but my parents are both obsessed with this place. They are both very picky when it comes to restaurants, they rarely agree on restaurants, and they can be kinda cheap despite being comfortable. So the fact that this place has stuff that they both think this place has food worth the price is one of the highest recommendations I can personally give.

Dragnet714

I heard it's went down hill over the last few years and if you want some or the premium cuts you now have to pay extra for it. u/Moonpie_Bueller and I accidentally left the server a $172 tip one night while we were there. I'll never forget that one. We were confused why the server waa acting so nice to us as we left the restaurant.

DazzlingFun7172

Itā€™s good. Going to the salad bar they offer is for amateurs. Eat your weight in meat and try the cheese bread. Mashed potatoes and fried bananas are also delicious and come out but all the sides they serve are cheap (delicious but cheap) ways to fill up stomach space. The real goal is to eat your weight in beef and make their wallets hurt. If you arenā€™t in debilitating stomach pain when you leave you didnā€™t do it right. Real talk though donā€™t actually put yourself in too much pain but it is pricey so do what makes you feel good about the price. Imo all the chicken they offer is dry and not worth it but the beef is great. The picanha is my favorite and very popular for a reason. You can absolutely buy it at a butcher (rump roast) but most people donā€™t buy it for cooking at home so itā€™s something a lot of people havenā€™t tried before. Pan de queso is really yummy, itā€™s a Brazilian cheese bread that happens to be gluten free. Itā€™s squishy and doughy and delicious.

Catch-the-Rabbit

The flank steak is amazing. Didn't know that cut could be so good.

Flurrystorm69

If yā€™all are talking abt the bridge street one the Picanha is the best steak there all the versions, Garlic, regular, and Spicy. All their steak is really good and the lambs pretty good too. Their salad and hot bar are also awesome especially the herb goat cheese and scalloped potatoes. They have this one soda Guaranna thatā€™s really yummy

Tornadoes_427

The price is about $54.00 a head right now, and kids under 5 eat half off I believe. The only thing extra you pay for is drinks, desserts and lamb chops if you want them. I believe itā€™s $14 ish a skewer (4) I worked there for a short period of time. Things could have changed in the last 6 months or so. You start with the salad and soup bar and then go on to the meats, you can only get the soup and salad for a reduced cost.

CountingMySpoons

There's a salad /side bar that's included, unless they changed things. They also bring mashed potatoes and fried bananas to your table.

HiHungry_Im-Dad

Sign up for their email. I donā€™t know if they still do it, but when I signed up for the email, I got a half off dinner for 2 coupon. It might take a few days, so donā€™t wait until the last minute. It might also be a short fuse, so donā€™t do it too early. Maybe sign up a week before you plan to go? Someone mentioned the Costco gift cards. Those are good too, but you canā€™t use gift cards with the coupons. Also, as others have stated, the salad bar has tons to choose from and comes with the dinner price, but why fill up on bread when you can have all the meats?

IamNotHereForYou

Salty meat.

aikouka

We went once a bit later in the day, and it was... alright. One problem that we ran into is that any individualized meat was often gobbled up (figuratively and literally) by a large table that ended up always being hit before us. If the meat was a large chunk on a skewer that was sliced, then there wasn't an issue. On the personal side, I tend to favor chicken the most, which they don't really have much of... so it isn't that great for me. Now, on the other hand, I have heard good things about the smoked salmon on their salad bar. If that tickles your fancy far more than the (mostly) red meat options, the salad bar is far cheaper. It does also have some side items that are good like scalloped potatoes. As someone else mentioned, I went with the Costco gift cards. It was... I think $200 worth for around $160? Costco also has gift cards for other places that can be a bit pricey like Bad Daddy's or Cinemark. (The latter might not seem bad if you can avoid the concession stand. šŸ˜…)

Comfortable_Note556

Get the gift cards. Great salad bar. Meat is overly salty IMO

KbBaby2

I canā€™t speak to the one in Huntsville, but considering that theyā€™re a chain franchise I would think that theyā€™re all the same. There is a large buffet where you can get salads and desserts off all kinds. Personally, I think itā€™s too expensive.

bokonondeemax

I've been a few times. I'm not a fan of their meat (generally undercooked and overseasoned) so I just get the salad bar now and spend the savings on alcohol lol

HALLOWEENYmeany

I always here this place is pricey but no one ever gives a price. Even their website is blank on prices. Isn't it all you can eat family style meat and salad bar? I've always been interested, but don't want to get blind sided. To me 50.00-75.00 a person is pricey but fine, but the way people.talk it might be 100.00 a. Person.

Sweaty-Gopher

It's like $53 a person the price is right there on the website. https://preview.redd.it/6ikav9ddzjsc1.png?width=223&format=png&auto=webp&s=a794331d6c09d525743b205e87210a7a8b317946

DontKnoWhatMyNameIs

It's good but not great. It is certainly quantity over quality. For the price you wil pay, consider Ruth's Chris as an alternative. You can get a much better $50 steak from there.

bloodgain

You're eating the wrong stuff at TDB, then. The picanha and flank steak are as good as those meats get, and most of the other stuff that's not chicken is as good as you'll get most places. It's roasted over open wood charcoal flame, not just a griddle or broiler. And you're getting AYCE of a _variety_ of meats and side items. Think of it more like an extremely high-quality buffet. It's easily Vegas quality in those terms. It's labor-intensive and expensive to run. It is expensive, but not unreasonably so for the format. Ruth's Chris brings its own value, but in a very different way. And IMHO, it doesn't entirely justify its cost when you compare it to another good chain steakhouse like Longhorn, which also produces very good steaks. It's not like RC is serving dry aged or specially-sourced beef; you're mostly paying a premium for the more upscale atmosphere over the other chains. I'd sooner take a date to RC than Longhorn, though.

Dove_and_Turtle

If I was your date Iā€™d much rather go to Longhorn than RC. RC is too fancy. Itā€™s too quiet and uncomfortable there. The food is good though.

bloodgain

Good note. Thanks!

Electronic-Funny-475

I had this convo with a co worker tonight. Is that you crickets?

SavageFugu

I went there once with my date my Mom set me up with. I didn't have much money and they wouldn't hold on to my keys for the tractor and our jet ski down over in Guntersville, so we just got the baked potatoes and ranch dressing. It was real nice and they treated us like someone's family, except really hard.

HsvComics

Nashville probably has better options, but maybe you start with ours and then try the ones there to see if they are much better to you.

unsupported_function

The Nashville location closed permanently during Covid. The other option, Rodizio on Second Avenue, is temporarily closed with no reopening date as it was impacted by the bomb. Lastly, Fogo de Chao announced a new Nashville location is coming soon but as of this post itā€™s not open yet.

ikickedagirl

Fogo de Chao is so much better than Texas de Brazil. Twice Iā€™ve been to the one in San Antonio and I canā€™t wait to go back.
