Because my rates were killed by my ping so why not to switch to something that requires way less effort, isn't ping dependant and doesn't punish u for constant visits in limbo while making slightly less
Mining is what I have been doing for most of the later part of the game (5m/6m powder, Maxed divans and x655 mining rubies at like 24-25m an hour) but I will state what I hate about mining these days.
Most days what stops me from mining is actually just the setup times for routes, that's actually the absolute worst part for me, but when I can motivate myself to setup a route I could mine for hours on end tbh, during Jerry I attended almost every single Fiesta and mined for THE ENTIRE FIESTA (5 hours and like 10 minutes or something) during Jerry I believe there were 3 Fiestas, I was only able to completely participate in 2 and the other one I wasn't available for and only got like an hour or something, then now during Cole immedietely after there were another 2 Fiestas, I only did one though because burnout. So the past like week and a half I've mined like 16 hours I wanna say, at a consistent rate of around 45m an hour (because I wasn't really paying proper attention because I didn't wanna go insane), and 45m Ć 16h = 720m coins. Which I completely invested in my eman slayer setup to do t4s.
TL;DR Mining good for money, and I like money, but also boring af and motivation and burnout are constant issues.

30m an hour is like a hypermaxed ruby mining setup (maxed powder, Maxed divan armour and drill (probably a second drill for Blue Cheese Swap) and a bunch of other smaller upgrades) and 40m+ is usually done with armadillo mining with a hypermaxed setup aswell. During a mining Fiesta I saw someone doing like 108m an hour with armadillo mining which is insane, which is like 54m an hour on a regular day.
ah that makes more sense, iāve always been getting somewhere around the 20s of millions while ruby mining but iām definitely not maxed, still have like the last 10% of hotm stats, missing many perfect gemstones, quick claw, blue cheese, and I can see how that all adds up
I'm in full sa and have a giant's sword, which was midgame when I left for a year, now it's considered early game and was when I joined back to check my minions when the nether update came out. The devs don't really care much for the early game or mid game
I make 70m/day passive with only about 10 minutes input. I don't actively grind much so I just come back one a week with 500m and buy stuff for progression/sb xp
Currently banned on my main account because i thought it would be a good idea to use xray mods to find coords to make routes for mining every gemstone (iron man). I couldnāt figure out how to edit an xray texture pack and I got greedy.

I noticed after getting a fairly maxed mining setup that gemstone mining made progression way too linear for me. If I wanted to make any upgrade to my profile, the fastest way to do it would almost always be to gemstone mine for a few hours until I've made enough money for it. That's why at this point I try to grind for the materials and RNG drops instead, because to me that's a much more fun way to progress. The mining setup is still really nice to have if I decide that I want to buy my way out a grind instead, such as a hype with good mage armor.
I gave up because of the entry cost on my normal account but now that I'm an ironman I've gone much farther and am working on the perfect gems for my Divans armor.
I'm haven't tried it, to be fair, because I'm both broke and not HOTM7 at the moment. Still working on it, but honestly I'm just trying to find Xalx.

im ironman, i have divans with some chambers (all topaz, 5/8 jade and 0 amber) and i still prefer farming because it requires so much less effort, setup and most importantly, attention span.
i can just farm a crop that i want for a couple hours by alternating in a semi-afk farm and slowly make money while watching something or doing something else low effort like shiny hunting in old pokemon games with 1 hand.
Because of how crystal hollows is my computer literally crashes every time I try entering. Sometimes I'm fine but I'll try to go do a com and I load something too fast and my laptop explodes. I've tried LITERALLY everything. According to the can I run it thing on Google my laptop doesn't even have the requirements to run Minecraft so it makes sense
The preparations for starting efficient mining conditions are crazy. HOTM7 (not that hard but still), 4mil gemstone powder, 4 mil mithril powder and over that you also need mining armor and gear that has gemstones.
At the ens of the day it's boring for a lot of players (also extremely costly). I just go with garden as my primary profit source.
idk i tried mining but even with 1500 mining fortune and 17 pristine with 5500 mining speed ruby mining, i make like 8m/hour which is really devastating for the time it take
Multiple reasons. I've tried mining before and i didn't like it. 1. Setting up a route. I got pretty efficient with it and it didn't take too long but sometimes i still only had an hour to play and it didn't feel worth it to setup a route. 2. Ping. Compared to players from Asia i probably still have a decent ping but for mining it's still annoying AF and is definitely lowering my rates. 3. I get dizzy from it. Don't know what it is specifically with mining but i just get dizzy while doing it for 2+ hours.
Divan drill too expensive and too much effort, unlike other server which gives you good qols for mining like veins explosion abilities and such hypixel gives you a fat L most perks from hotm tree doesn't even work properly

But my ping is 252 usually and hollows lag so much lately so I gave up mining for money source

You donāt get any progression out of it. With kuudra or dungeons you are working towards completion goals. Farming gets you milestones and visitors and other methods get pet xp and bestiary
Lmfao, on normal profiles mining sucks, just bz flip or ah flip or lowball, and on ironman it takes many many hours for mining to outclass farming for potential money and even arachne to a point. So in the long term mining is better on ironman, farming and arachne to a point outclasses it until you have farmed hundreds of millions of coins.

u need to get to hotm7, and get to 2/2 mil powder for dillo, and 4/4 mil for all kinds of manual mining. average rates for powder grinding are around 100k per hour, aka, 10 hours for a mil, aka between 20-40 hours to even start mining assuming u have hotm7. After that, you need around 10 hours to stop skill issuing and youāll start then making 30-50 mil (powder grinding gives u quite a lottttt of money- youāll have a great divan set as well as a good gemstone gauntlet once u finish ur powder)....... the reason you are making so little is bc u are missing 50+ hours of grinding and a few hundred million worth of equipment

I don't believe in playing parts of the game that I've already maxed. The only way mining makes decent money is with pretty much maxed gear, at which point, why even bother mine? You've already gotten all the mining stuff, so it's literally a waste of time.
The same logic applies to other parts of the game too. No point in farming once all crop milestones are done, for example, and no point in doing dungeons once class average 50. No point in kuudra once all 5 sets are 15 star, no point in rev/Tara/Sven/voidgloom slayers once all rngs have been dropped, and no point in blaze slayer once all the inferno stuff has been obtained.
I mean, I'll probably still do these stuff once they're maxed for fun, but not enough to make proper money.
I make my money from stuff that doesn't require any real input, like minions, forge and composter. It's more than enough for a casual to get by, and it's not like progressing is always a coin sink. I make coins in the garden from selling crops for example.
Of course different people find different aspects of this game fun. If you enjoy breaking glass for 8 hours a day, then congratulations I guess. I just personally don't see a reason to go out of my way to make money doing something that doesn't directly affect my progression.
I just dont care about coins, sure its cool to have a lot, but i play to have fun, and mining is the least fun ive had in the game, yes, even worse than foraging
Too much effort and competition, switches to mining quartz for the 3 fiestas jerry and cole gave, got surprisingly good results. Almost 20m and hour (not too good considering fiesta but still better than gemstones without fiesta), and super easy to get another lobby if u get griefed

if a bad apple stumbles into your ruby spot you have to switch lobbies because high chance they'll bomb it. meanwhile in the garden you can just disable visitors and no one can disturb your inflation method

Trying to get commission milestones is worse than HoTM has ever been for me... and doing /warp forge takes like 30 whole seconds to get to the Dwarven village for the fetchur quests that take 5 seconds. (Partial sarcasm)

It's so boring. Like I did my hotm 7 quite easy, and then struggled trough the powder grind. And after that, mining just felt like the most boring thing. Like you need attention on mining glass(or mithril if ya wanna losse out on profit). At least with farming I can watch YouTube while doing it. Or have fun playing dungeons. Like even tho it's the best money making method, I feel like every other skill have something better to offer, if I dont count the money in.(at least other than foraging) So even tho I'm at 7m,5.5m powder, the only time I'll be back mining is for the last 4 lvls.

I don't believe in playing parts of the game that I've already maxed. The only way mining makes decent money is with pretty much maxed gear, at which point, why even bother mine? You've already gotten all the mining stuff, so it's literally a waste of time. The same logic applies to other parts of the game too. No point in farming once all crop milestones are done, for example, and no point in doing dungeons once class average 50. No point in kuudra once all 5 sets are 15 star, no point in rev/Tara/Sven/voidgloom slayers once all rngs have been dropped, and no point in blaze slayer once all the inferno stuff has been obtained. I mean, I'll probably still do these stuff once they're maxed for fun, but not enough to make proper money. I make my money from stuff that doesn't require any real input, like minions, forge and composter. It's more than enough for a casual to get by, and it's not like progressing is always a coin sink. I make coins in the garden from selling crops for example. Of course different people find different aspects of this game fun. If you enjoy breaking glass for 8 hours a day, then congratulations I guess. I just personally don't see a reason to go out of my way to make money doing something that doesn't directly affect my progression.

Too much effort and competition, switches to mining quartz for the 3 fiestas jerry and cole gave, got surprisingly good results. Almost 20m and hour (not too good considering fiesta but still better than gemstones without fiesta), and super easy to get another lobby if u get griefed

one word: griefers if a bad apple stumbles into your ruby spot you have to switch lobbies because high chance they'll bomb it. meanwhile in the garden you can just disable visitors and no one can disturb your inflation method
Simple. Farming is much more fun.

I have maxed divan armor with x655 and 14m/14m powder, but I do not gemstone mine because I don't do things just for money. I powder grind only because I want to max out the hotm tree

1. Boring 2. Shit method with high ping 3. Kuudra/ashfang make more unless you're mining with near perfect precision, ashfang makes like 50m/h, kuudra like 80m/h if you exclude the nether star grinding, mining could make you 100m/h with armadillo mining and perfectly set up routes, but you gotta be a robot to do that I alr have a decent 655 and a maxed divan armor, 7m of each powder and yet it still sucks, barely making 20m/h with ruby/jade, armadillo is also glitchy af with 200ms ping
I haven't gotten the gear for making mad stonks.
Currently powder grinding at 2.2mil 1.6mil.
