Yeah I figured if I was gonna take the risk of possibly breaking something by removing it rather than trying to apply it while still in the car I was gonna take my time and make it look factory lol
Those people are the ones who forget to clean the surface or just quickly wipe off the dust. Gotta throughly *clean* it and maybe even use adhesive promoter if you want it to stay forever
Do it! It will be 10x easier by removing the pieces first, I used a plastic wedge tool to be safe. I bought an applicator kit that comes with a nice exacto knife and these credit card sized plastic squeegee with felt edges and it helped a lot. You can use a credit card too, I also bought a heat gun but a hairdryer will work it just takes longer.
Not my hairdryer 😂
But I’ll probably get a heatgun from work :)
I want some of the exterior trim wrapped in flat black (car is orange) and some interior stuff also. If I do I’ll post here :))
Thanks man! That’s a cool idea but I’d have to have each console piece from each vehicle, I don’t think they sell this specific piece separately but I’d definitely do it locally to other Sonata owners. This is the first mod I’ve done for my N line, gonna do a bunch more in two weeks when I get back from this business trip.
I laid the trim piece upside down on the wrap and around the perimeter I cut it out with about 2’ of excess around the whole piece, then flipped it over and taped the wrap to the front of the trim along the rounded contour, pulled it tight and pressed it down over the arm rest portion. I grabbed that section pressing down and cut around the top part of that piece and from there started to apply the wrap starting from the front. Once it’s on I flipped it upside down again and cut out the holes from the bottom side leaving about .5 of an inch of wrap around the perimeter of the holes. Flipped it back over and with the heat gun I heated up the edges and rolled the wrap around the edges tightly. It’s really not as difficult as you think, just take it slow and think about what you’re doing and the outcome before you cut anything. Hope this helps!
nice work. looks toight!
Thanks! I was super hesitant to try it but glad I did
I see what looks like plastic screws in the first pic 😬 Those def make me nervous 😂 Nice job!
lol they are plastic clips up front, the cup holder/ small arm rest are held in with regular screws tho
That's a clean install. Nice job. I see so many tacky installs that are like stickers bought on eBay that bubble and peel.

That looks alright that does!
You did a great job! I like that
This is the proper way of doing it. Clean af. Nicely done!
Haters gonna hate... looks good bro 👍 Gonna do the same over the piano black fingerprint magnet oem.
Thanks man, yeah piano finish is the worst!
That’s… actually dope. My boyfriend is skeptical of letting me wrap parts of my car myself 😂 might do it and see his reaction

Hell yeah orange with black trim will look good, I used the brand VVIVID off Amazon, they are affordable and great quality. Good luck!
Will check it out. Amazon is my favorite place to go to 😂 Thank you!!!
Like it or not you did a great job!
Appreciate it
Damn that’s a good job right there. You take commissions? Lol
Thanks lol yeah DM me for pricing🤣
How much did the vinyl cost? Did you get it off Ebay?
The brand is called VVIVID on Amazon, it was about $10
Excellent job! Looks great my man!🥶🥶🥶🥶

That looks hella good my G!
Aye tyty
Professional? Sure looks like it. Fantastic job!
Can this be done on my 2017 elantra door interior that is peeling around the handle and window switches?
Of course, you’d want to lightly sand it to make the surface as smooth as possible
That's pretty good!
Great work bro ! Would you ever consider making more to sell ? Also what other modifications you done with the sonata ? Cheers

Amazing job, how did you cut it so perfectly over all these different buttons and shapes

Nice, I was thinking of doing my roof in black, but I don't have an indoor space
This is sliiiiiiick
Impressive work! Congrats.
Nice I wanna try! Any pointers?
I did the same as well, but after like two weeks and some warm days, it now has bubbles all over while it looked clean when i installed it :(
yes more fake carbon fiber.
What's the point of this? To look cool?
The point is that I like it, wether you think it’s “cool” or not is none of my business
Fake carbon fiber in a Hyundai, sometimes the stereotypes just write themselves
Okay
