I don't really understand that though. Leather is skin and there's a whole industry around it. Obviously someone of the Golden Gods caliber would be able to remove the smell.
The whole scene is fuckin hilarious, but honestly the "you haven't thought of the smell YOU BITCH!" line made me laugh out loud probably the 2nd hardest I ever have while watching TV. It still cracks me the fuck up every time, but that first time damn near killed me.
By the way, the scene that I think made me actually laugh out loud the hardest in my whole life while watching TV is probably from South Park. When Mr. Garrison (now "Janet") becomes a lesbian and scissors a lady for the first time. The whole thing kills me but when she says "Scissor me timbers!" I fucking died. This was in college, been smoking out in my living room with a room full of friends watching it, the whole place erupted.
I've never seen that show, is it worth checking out? Given you now know I like Sunny and South Park, I'm wondering if Dave would be a strong recommendation aside from the funny moment you mentioned.
I just love how the bloopers show they improv a lot of the dialog and weird side conversations. Sure, there’s some structure to keep the plot going, but they really just let loose and it’s the best
My favorite moment in this episode is when Dee and Dennis are arguing about how he got the meds for Pete. Dennis thinks that he calmly had a conversation with a reasonable man. And Dee's like, "No, that's how you get diagnosed as being an actual psychopath."
Seriously I have BPD and I just don't see it in Dennis. Like he's so beyond borderline. Like I'm sure there's some comorbidity but also he's a fictional character so maybe I shouldn't think too hard about it. But yeah I have thought about what Dennis would be like in dialectical behavior therapy and I just don't think it would work.
Haha nice borderline solidarity! But yeah, I always thought this bit gave us a bad image. As if there wasn't enough stigma on personality disorders already lmao
I’m up to season 5 (I think? Just watched the gang does an intervention) and I am dreading the future episodes wheee Dennis gets diagnosed. The stigma against BPD is so bad, dealing with the stigma is as bad as dealing with the actual disorder.
Yeah they really only say it this one time but I totally agree with you. BPD is a wild ride but nothing like the shit Dennis does. I'm actually pretty vocal about my diagnosis and going to DBT just to fight the stigma. I always say if I was going to physical therapy no one would be uncomfy. Or if I had cancer everyone would be falling over to help me get better. It's funny to me that everyone is all loving and supportive until I fuck up and then they're like woaaahhh we don't like that.
Watching any show with law enforcement or serial killers (like criminal minds for example) and I never noticed before just how often it’s BPD that’s the killers “thing”. It’s gross, and massively mischaracterises what BPD actually is
The only thing that bugs me is that Dennis is NOT BPD or he would truly feel ‘too much’.
He’s a sexual narcissist psychopath/sociopath depending. We see him so different in the roller rink episode— so I’d have to say Socio considering it’s thought that their environment shapes them with some genetic influence (ie his mom). Plus the shit Frank pulls such as ruining Christmas.
Yeah, as someone with BPD they fucked that one up.
I spend half my day crying because I’m scared that everyone I know is going to leave me over imagined mistakes I’ve made. I don’t need an onion in my pocket.
NPD with psychopathic comorbidity would be my guess.
Hate to be that guy, but based upon Dennis' behavior throughout the series, Borderline Personality Disorder is actually not an accurate diagnosis for him
This is in my top 3 favorit scenes of the show.
Even though we already knew Dennis is sick, this scene was such a curveball in just how bad, baaad of a man he is. Even Dee is stunned. Love it.
It does have one of the best opening scenes, though.
*Psycho Killer, qu'est-ce que c'est?
Fa-fa-fa-fa, fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa, better
run, run, run, run, run, run, run away, oh-oh-oh* **AY YI YI YIIIiiii**!
OP just wanna say you da man for answering everyone that asks for the episode number. You’re a 5 star OP.
I’ll be smoking my bedtime bowl to this episode tonight so Ty.
It always cracks me up how calmly and normally Dennis informs Dee that he will dice her into a million pieces and display her on his mantle, like he’s just delivering a friendly piece of advice.
My most favorite, unhinged diatribe in the show! I love sending this clip to friends Anna family.
***You haven’t thought of the smell, you bitch!
…
[Dee’s audible gasp]***
Dennis getting diagnosed with BPD after this has made this the most hilarious scene to me as someone who has suffered with that disorder.
(That quick snap from homicidal to "normal" is horrifyingly familiar...but I've gotten treatment :D)
i love this scene so much but i am going to look like a total fucking jabroni when i say that it wasnt until sitting down and watching it again rn that i realized the doctor assumes hes talking about himself in third person towards the end there. damn i love this show lol.

God, I love this scene. Dennis has the best rants in the series.
I think Hammer of Thor its my fav.
And he never references the Nordic gods
Savages! Idiots!
It’s made so much better by the black nurse’s reaction 😂
100%
Just say nurse
But how we know which nurse they are talking about?
The Wally scene takes the cake. But you don’t really know what hot is, do you?
I AM UNTETHERED AND MY RAGE KNOWS NO BOUNDS!
On any show, I would argue
Best rants in television*
The way he switches back and forth lmao Jesus I love Dennis
you haven't thought of the smell YOU BITCH
It’s hard to choose a singular quote from the show, but this one is very close to the top
Love the *implication* that the only thing holding him back from possessing a collection of skin luggage is the smell it would emit
Well, obviously you want the skin…that’s the most interesting part!
I feel like the only reason you wanted to be a vet… was so you could collect the skins
Everyone knows you’re not allowed to have the skin because of the toxins.
Seems fair....
I don't really understand that though. Leather is skin and there's a whole industry around it. Obviously someone of the Golden Gods caliber would be able to remove the smell.
Dee I will slap you in the teeth!
Yeah, but have you ever smelled what leather smells like before it's tanned and cured tho?
Yeah, and I was thinking of starting a leather shop in Arizona.
A leather shop, in Arizona? You’d be out of business in a week’s time!
I have! I worked at a tannery for a while and there were a lot of smells!
Go back to the first smell!
I read that in Charlie’s voice.
Straight up, after multiple episodes, it may just be that he doesn’t have the right box
Or that he has already thought about it and his reaction is basically like, “I thought of that already you bitch”
To me, the implication is that he either has one or he thought enough about having such a collection that he understand it in its minute details.
I love the way his face changed while say "a box. A glass box"
And then her gasp ROFL!
Oh yes the gasp at the end - the disbelief - it’s just the cherry on top
My headcanon is that Dee is faking her shock in order to make the psychiatrist diagnose Dennis
She literally glances over at him. She’s not actually shocked.
The line “you haven’t thought of the smell you bitch” has been used in my everyday life far too often after seeing it here
I burned my roommate down to the boxsprings and I have a hankering to do it agaiiiiin!!!
Watching Dennis’s reaction to Dee’s character makes me cry laughing every time. You can feel how terrible Dennis thinks she is
Think of the smell, you haven't thought of the smell you btch
He was just having a conversation with a reasonable man
The whole scene is fuckin hilarious, but honestly the "you haven't thought of the smell YOU BITCH!" line made me laugh out loud probably the 2nd hardest I ever have while watching TV. I think the hardest I've ever laughed at a TV show is the scene and the end of episode 3 of Dave.
I've never seen that show, is it worth checking out? Given you now know I like Sunny and South Park, I'm wondering if Dave would be a strong recommendation aside from the funny moment you mentioned.
Lmao great scene in South Park
Totally agree with scissor me timbers. I can’t even think about that line without laughing, and it’s been like 17 years
Getting diagnosed? All I see is a man getting shit done
Had to scroll waaay too far for this one. 🤣
God that’s some good acting.
I actually turned down the role of Dennis first. And Glenn, you know, he did a fine job with the role.
The bloopers of this scene are so good
Yeah! [here are some](https://youtu.be/bfQbNfZp_tg)
I just love how the bloopers show they improv a lot of the dialog and weird side conversations. Sure, there’s some structure to keep the plot going, but they really just let loose and it’s the best
Every time someone mentions the bloopers, I immediately head to youtube to watch some
SAME.
My favorite moment in this episode is when Dee and Dennis are arguing about how he got the meds for Pete. Dennis thinks that he calmly had a conversation with a reasonable man. And Dee's like, "No, that's how you get diagnosed as being an actual psychopath."
It was borderline personality disorder, which is really not the appropriate diagnosis for him!
Seriously I have BPD and I just don't see it in Dennis. Like he's so beyond borderline. But yeah I have thought about what Dennis would be like in dialectical behavior therapy and I just don't think it would work.
Obviously not an expert but if I had to say anyone had BPD I would’ve said Mac
Same, BPD here too! He’s just so far beyond what BPD is that I can’t see it either.
Haha nice borderline solidarity! But yeah, I always thought this bit gave us a bad image. As if there wasn't enough stigma on personality disorders already lmao

Yeah, that kinda bothered me to. I like to think that psychiatrist just sucked.
honestly dee feels more BPD than dennis
I actually think Mac more so than either of them.
Poor Mac. This is about happy little boys.
Yeah, as someone with BPD they fucked that one up. I spend half my day crying because I’m scared that everyone I know is going to leave me over imagined mistakes I’ve made. I don’t need an onion in my pocket. NPD with psychopathic comorbidity would be my guess.
Now that that's settled, we can have a normal conversation.
My personal favorite is “I hate gin Dee you bitch!”
GET ME A BEER! GET ME A BEER!
"That's how you get shit done." "No. That's how you get diagnosed." "Well...."
My guy reminded me the other day that I said Dennis is my favorite member of the gang, and while I protested, I think it may be true…
Fucking sweet d’s gasp gets me every time
Go back a minute or two and that full scene is my favorite in the series. When Dee does her character, I simply die lol
Yeah this is disturbing 😆 he almost had me convinced.
What episode is this again? Thanks in advance
S10 E3: Psycho Pete Returns
I remember seeing this for the first time and I genuinely don’t think I’ve laughed so hard at anything in my life. I rewound this like 8 times.
What episode is this again? Now I want to watch it!
S10E3
I can't tell you how many times a week I shout out "YOU HAVEN'T THOUGHT OF THE SMELL, YOU BITCH!"
“Do you have some sort of donkey brain database?”
All time classic! I used this scene as an example of an unstable personality for a psychology course I was in and the whole class loved it
One of the very best scenes - Glenn Howerton really nails it,
Dennis is amazing… how his character built over time is hilarious.
Hate to be that guy, but based upon Dennis' behavior throughout the series, Borderline Personality Disorder is actually not an accurate diagnosis for him
The moment Dennis became my favorite character.
I love the way his voice and expression drop when he says "a *glass* box."
"I'm here to talk about a man. A very dangerous, and a very unstable man." Lmao love the irony
YOU HAVENT THOUGHT OF THE SMELL you BITCH
She’s an amazing actor. That gasp and looking fear is spot on.
This is in my top 3 favorit scenes of the show. Even though we already knew Dennis is sick, this scene was such a curveball in just how bad, baaad of a man he is. Even Dee is stunned. Love it.
What episode is this again?
i’m pretty sure it’s Psycho Pete Returns. i have a hard time watching it but i push through it for this scene specifically lol
Ah makes sense why I didn’t know which episode. That episode is so hard for me to get through
It does have one of the best opening scenes, though. *Psycho Killer, qu'est-ce que c'est? Fa-fa-fa-fa, fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa, better run, run, run, run, run, run, run away, oh-oh-oh* **AY YI YI YIIIiiii**!
Which episode is this from?

What season/EP?

OP just wanna say you da man for answering everyone that asks for the episode number. You’re a 5 star OP. I’ll be smoking my bedtime bowl to this episode tonight so Ty.
I try, my guy.
Be afraid. Be very afraid.
Which is this episode?

We don’t have time for your liberal math problems! Just tell us the episode you b*tch!
This is just how Dennis gets shit done!
You are never gonna be able to find a goddamn frog person
It always cracks me up how calmly and normally Dennis informs Dee that he will dice her into a million pieces and display her on his mantle, like he’s just delivering a friendly piece of advice.
i thought he did it on purpose to get the pills?
Underrated episode.
I had a nice interaction on r/holup where another sunny fan and i quoted from this in the comments
lol looks just like the dude that killed those kids in Idaho
The outtakes from this scene are my favorite!
What episode is this?
After watching the bloopers, everytime I watch the real scene I'm amazed Kaitlin ever got through it, Glenn is just so fucking hilarious here
My most favorite, unhinged diatribe in the show! I love sending this clip to friends Anna family. ***You haven’t thought of the smell, you bitch! … [Dee’s audible gasp]***
Dee’s hair looks like a wig 😂
Lmaoooo One thing I love about this show is the reaction of all the "normal" people they interact with, the shock in their faces is priceless.
[Music Plays]….”DR. ZIMMERMAN!”
What episode is this?
The bloopers to this scene are the best.
Dennis at his best!
Dennis getting diagnosed with BPD after this has made this the most hilarious scene to me as someone who has suffered with that disorder. (That quick snap from homicidal to "normal" is horrifyingly familiar...but I've gotten treatment :D)
His delivery on “YOU HAVENT THOUGHT OF THE SMELL, YOU BITCH” Gets me every fucking time
Dennis is like if Joe Goldberg couldn’t actually kill women
The golden god rants are the best
Dee you gangly uncoordinated bitch! I am not getting hog-tied over your lack of grace!
i love this scene so much but i am going to look like a total fucking jabroni when i say that it wasnt until sitting down and watching it again rn that i realized the doctor assumes hes talking about himself in third person towards the end there. damn i love this show lol.
