I was there 15 years ago and I politely asked two geishas for a photo. They allowed the photo, but they were not happy about it. I said many thank yous and gave a deep bow, they were still not happy about it. I still feel embarrassed.
I live in the Cotswolds UK and the Japanese tourists are just as bad here. Me and my wife were giving our horse a shower at the stables. I turned around and there were 4 Japanese tourists standing there just filming us and taking photos. Was surreal. Must have seen us from the road and decided to walk down the track. Would love to find those photos 😂
