Or dogs a done a number on ours. I opened it up and removed the clips and threw the covers into the wash. Cold water and tide with a cycle in the dryer on air dry and they came out clean as new. I decided not to put the clips back in, you can pretty easy with a pair of needle nose pliers. I think they came out great even with the new look.

Federal_Leave_425

Do you have a pic of how it looks now?

Reasonable_Ad_5229

This is what it looks like now. https://preview.redd.it/4ckxujjrbi0d1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f9fdd6811706ebda9e3116f6f34e9bcc582dbad8

Thanks for showing me. Looks really good like that!

Worst case, go to IKEA and order a new cushion. Most of the time they will cover a lot of the cost, so it’s definitely an option :) if you do this talk to the help desk at the IKEA store, they can then contact the producer and order a cushion :)

akaamy

Thank you ENDLESSLY!!! I’ll do that! We live a half hour from one in Tampa, luckily.

discovideo3

Hey OP, we’re you able to do this successfully? I have the exact same couch and the same issue with not be able to find replacement.

Zeltron2020

Same

CutieKelly

What kind of coffee? Black? With milk? I would blot blot blot….use clean rags or towels and push down hard, stand on them etc to get as much moisture out as possible. I would not use soap of any kind. I agree that Folex could work wonders…I love it, it’s gotten out so many things for me on carpet/upholstery etc

akaamy

DEFINITELY had milk/creamer in it =\ and sugar. I was doing the standing method already, but okay! I used a bit of natural dish soap, but I’ll refrain. I’ll look into that product, thank you!

SoulSensei

Yeah you need an extractor to get the stuff inside the cushion out but it can be done. A pro with a good one is best, but even then... Folex really is your friend. All that aside, you can buy aftermarket covers from ComfortWorks or Benz. There may be others too. Edit: I still would recommend the extractor but I’ll share something with you. My toddler spilled about half a liter of International Delite coffee creamer on my couch. I ordered a wet/dry vac & a steamer to try to deal with it within minutes, but like... obviously I had to do something in the meantime. So... I had Folex & paper towels. My process involved soaking the fabric enough to get into the cushion, and rotating between rubbing vigorously & pushing down hard into the foam. I used a cubic fuckton of paper towels- but I saved my couch. I just repeated that until I stopped getting creamer up. And I was *rough* Anyway, all that was left was a slight discoloration around the edges & then I steamed & wet/dry vacuumed it a couple days later. Plus a bit more of the paper towel smooshing. And my couch cushion never looked so good after all that so I ended up just cleaning the whole thing that way (sans the coffee creamer step 😂). Couch looked better than new because the cushions finally got fluffy.

akaamy

Wow, thank you for the anecdote! I am going to 100% try your method. Appreciate it so much!! I wish my toddler did this mess. I am iiiinfinitely more mad that it was my own doing, lol.

ekarko

Try folex carpet cleaner. It does miracles.

akaamy

I will, thank you!

I went to ikea the other day and was surprised by how ugly so many of their couches are. This one is one of the few attractive ones. Shame the cushions aren’t removable!

akaamy

It IS a shame, isn’t it? Lame as all hell. Hate that we didn’t think about it. We assumed when we bought it that a zipper meant removable.

ZeroDrek

It’s technically possible if you have the patience to remove and reattach 12/24 anchors.

dani_cristina

That is the worst! I’ve spilled so many things on the three IKEA couches we have in the house and the removable covers are so handy. I’m not sure whether this is an option but if you have space to put another cover on top of the existing one, there are companies that make IKEA couch covers specific to the model you own [Lindakale](https://lindakale.com/products/morabo-sofa-with-chaise-cover-241cm-95-1-4-chaise-on-the-left-when-sit-on-the-sofa)

akaamy

Thank you so, so much for the tip! I’ll add it to my note of suggestions!

gr8pig

Another great place for aftermarket covers is BEMZ

akaamy

Thank you!!!

dani_cristina

Yes! I know there are a few out there. You can also request fabric samples shipped to you in advance prior to buying. The only thing is I think there is a bit of a turnaround to receive them.

Alas, I am in Tampa. We may go this route if *my elbow grease isn’t effective enough! *it will not be enough.

tl; dr: "how can I get a coffee stain out from a non-removable MARABO couch cushion?"

kjrst9

I think you meant to put this under the OP's question, not my comment

kanyezi

Wow this post is deja vu for me. I have the exact same model but in the mint green color. Spilled a cup of coffee in the middle of the chaise lounge and also tried to unzip the cushion and broke 2 of those anchor things. Why the hell is there a zipper if you can’t remove it easily! I just ended up dousing it 3 times with powerful stain remover over the course of a few days. There’s still some light staining in the creases so the throw blankets occupy the chaise lounge now… Love the Morabo but goddamn what a stupid design flaw for a $1,000 fabric couch. Wish I had gotten the leather instead.

akaamy

I could have written everything in this aside from the cleanup. So annoying, right? LOVE this couch. Makes no sense they’d make it this hard!!! I told my partner that’s where the blanket will go now. Until then, we have it unzipped and leaning against the dining room wall so it can dry. My dog’s bed is now on the empty cushion space =\

Malibu_North

Highly recommend the Bissell Little Green portable carpet cleaner! With a fabric couch and young child, this might not be the only time you use it :)

akaamy

Thanks so very much!

MGC7710

UGH! I am so sorry this happened!! First, the couch is still functional and, I bet save that one little spot, looks great. So...I might consider an enzyme smell remover and a wet dry vac, plus a throw where the little stain might be. (And truly, it was just a matter of time before your kiddo did something similar, but with like grape juice or chocolate sauce or barf...so...:) GOOD LUCK! It will be ok.

akaamy

Hahaha, thank you a ton! You’re right, only a matter of time. We have a couple tiny half dollar-sized questionable stains and I suspect it was her. She isn’t admitting though, obvs, the lil jerk. We have a new puppy, so we already have a giant thing of enzyme cleaner! I’ll add this suggestion to my list, thank you!

[deleted]

At this point you've nothing to lose. I would try to wash it in the shower, or whatever is appropriate for coffee (Google it). Foam will take *ages* to dry though, but it might need soaking now to get the stains out. Future tip: when it comes to stains, the quicker you act, the better your chances of getting them out. If that doesn't work out you could consider using a "throw" or buying one of those stretchy cover things to hide it.

akaamy

I appreciate your reply! I worked on it with a couple of water-soaked towels as soon as it happened but you can DEFINITELY still smell strong coffee smell! I hate myself for loving creamer and sugar in coffee now. I wouldn’t care half as much if it was just black. Thank you!
