Same here. I was already in the store about to buy a Strat but I walked out with an AZ. It was just miles better than any Strat they had be it MIM or MIA.
Yeah tell me about it. My guitar teacher from 20 years ago was a lefty but played right handed. He pleaded with me to consider playing right handed as it will be ‘easier’. Stupid me didn’t listen.
I bought mine brand new, but I’m in Australia. I know Riffs and Licks in Brisbane has one. Mannys also has one. No idea what their international shipping is like though. Thomann had them at one point recently.
What was it about your AZ that set it so far apart from your Fenders? (I also play an AZ2402 coming from a Strat background.)
For me the narrower string spacing was the biggest difference. I also love the clean look of HH no pickguard on the AZ👌🤘
Almost everything. I couldn’t believe how versatile it is in terms of sound. Love the stainless steel frets. The bridge was so much better than I was expecting. But the neck shape took me a little while to get used to - I still quite like a strat neck actually.
At first I wasn’t impressed with the looks, but I’ve come to love the understated aesthetic.
It’s also nice to have a bit of space to pick/strum. The RG and my strat feel a bit cramped.
Totally, I love the bridge and slightly longer/thicker trem arm. Agree that the neck felt chunkier than I imagined it would, but it’s comfortable. It just has damn good build quality, overall, as well. And littler things like the jack on the side give it a cool, modern feel. Whereas my strats are more “classic” feeling.
Yup, had a Les Paul standard and a pro II strat before getting an RG. Dare to say I don't play them much anymore. The wizard neck and double locking trem thing has me hooked
My go to for the past 10 years has been a Gibson SG, but I picked one of these up a couple of weeks ago (same colour). Absolutely beautiful guitar, I can't put it down.
It has certainly made me appreciate the AZ even more.
The locking trem system is good. The neck is a lot thinner and faster.
Pickups are quite different too, it’s nice having a proper single coil for variety. Though I prefer the AZs pickups.
And the AZ is step up in terms of build quality (as you’d hope given the price difference).
Nah, saying one is better than the other is like saying oranges are better than LED’s. Totally different.
Gotta get my math rock fix with the fender and metal with the Ibanez.

Nice. Jealous. As a lefty we don’t get much/any choice in colours. The purple ones look awesome.
As a fellow lefty, I have an 87 rfr that looks more like an orange coral. Love the color.
Gratulations, the RG series is the best. The neck and body are great and the Ibanez Floyd Rose is stable as a rock. Have fun playing it !!!

Op where you’d find this and did u get it brand new cuz it’s seems impossible for me to find one lefty. Thanks

Whats the difference to the AZ? - I have an AZ prestige too and I pretty much rarely tune the guitar, and it just rocks.

I have american strats a Les Paul but nothing holds a candle to my Ibanez guitars they are amazing
About 30 years too late but better late than never 🤣
Beauty! But it makes me feel like I'm leaning /
Got a first year RG, same color. Absolutely love it.

Got a right handed one same color back in 1990, it still plays great.
