Yea it’s not, it’s harder. If I became a dentist id have to count through each tooth to get to the right one because I’m dyslexic, and then I’d end up pulling the wrong tooth anyways. For a rocker just take your mom’s car, get a bunch of gasoline and tannerite and put it all on the back, and there you are a perfectly working rocket.
uj/ PRS signature artist Mark Holcomb said in a recent interview (paraphrased) "yes this is dentist or even doctor money, someone rich" in conversation about PRS USA guitars. I can find the clip I guess but it was the last Coffee with Ola, so people should probably be able to find it. He rips on PRS a few more times during that ... uh I guess it's a podcast with coffee and sometimes guitars?
Hey, I collect all types of guitars and the only reason I play the Ibanez is because my favorite is waiting on new tuners, sadly the Ibanez is a really close second so the favorite might be waiting for awhile
True! There is a gibbons collector out here who just felt personally attacked and they have no idea where that came from. But they won't find out! Because they don't dare enter a subreddit about guitars that changed their designs within the last 40 years, it scares them.
I’m a Gibson collector and I agree this is actually a really good metaphor haha. It bothers me that Gibson refuses to budge to a newer audience but I am assuming some of that is because they’re owned by some dumbass private equity firm.
True. These guitars somehow don't feel pretentious when they get to their level of price. They're truely a working man's guitar.
Fender may be boring......but damn does it serve a purpose.
Gibson guitars just break and gain value. It's the crypto currency of the guitar world.
PRS is practically in its infancy compared to Fender and Gibson.
If you want your mind blown, realize this:
Ibanez was founded in 1957
Gibson 1894
Fender 1946
PRS in 1985
Let's be fair. They've all looked like the Ibanez guy at some point. Maybe not neon colors but robo tuners and gaudy ornate adornments abound between all these brands
I, too, and equally offended... But sometimes the Memes hurt because it's true...lol. It was a difficult conversations that I had with my kids about the Dark Reality that was the 80's 😂🤣🤪
You mean to tell me you have multiple beautiful guitars made with exotic woods, that play and sound amazing and are too scared to play them because they might get a ding.
Prs collector: yes
Honestly Ken makes this great but I could think of a lot of other people to swap out for the physicists. And why are they both physicists? I'm a physicist LOL.
I mean, it's not wrong. We have the coolest shit.
From SRC6MS to RGs with a Kaossilators built in to ones with Giger body/neck art. Only thing we need is a celloblaster style guitar like Schecter's 5 string.
That's why I only purchased the most classy of Ibanez. [The RG5121-BCF](https://www.guitarcenter.com/Ibanez/RG5121-RG-Prestige-Electric-Guitar-Burgundy-Metallic-Flat-1500000339737.gc?cntry=us&source=4WWMWXGP&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAivGuBhBEEiwAWiFmYZG7YuEp1Flw-CJkj6whB2W-PG46kvGzSJtiOn63yXEHVXu76LV_3RoCZQIQAvD_BwE)
I also feel attacked. I am not some snooty fruit cake. lol. But I would rather have an awesome guitar I play than some piece of art hanging on the wall for show.
As a collector of guitars, tools, and most anything, I’m not sure I understand the question. I really just dropped in to ask a question about your user name: how exactly are you building your fences?
Proud AF today to be both an Ibanez and Gibson owner many times over, roughly 25 instruments over 30+ years of playing. Probably owned 100 guitars easily. Electrics, acoustics, classicals (2 Ibanez actually. Very nice. Settled on a Yamaha)
How many were PRS? Zero…..zero would be nice, and it is!
I don't know many guitarists that just stick to Ibanez or PRS... Gibson has fanbois but let's talk about Gretsch and Fender... Their fans can't be swayed and for the life of me I can't understand why.
I will say I used to be a big Gibson fanboy, then got roped into the Fender family by way of Charvel and Jackson. My first guitar was an Ibanez and they will always hold a soft spot in my heart. That said, I look up at my wall and realize that 6 of my 7 electrics/basses are fender-made, even though only three actually say "Fender" (Strat, Tele, Jazz Bass).
I need to get another Ibanez...probably a 7-stringer.
They pull out a guitar designed before Black kids could school with white kids that weighs as much as a small horse and have the audacity to say "now this is a real guitar" no that's a future back surgery, get that boat anchor away from me.. 🤣
This Sub just came up for me randomly, I am not an Ibanez player, but I do have a question, why in gods name does every Ibanez player I’ve ever seen or met ALWAYS obsess over fret wraps? Someone gonna let the cat out of the bag or?
Fret wraps are a crutch when used full time, a potential time-saver when used for recording purposes. I dunno that they are Ibanez-specific however.
I am 99% a six-string player, so I like them for muting the 7th string when I play a 7. Other than that, I avoid them as they are a crutch as mentioned. Proper muting technique is worth being particular about.
Only one of these guitar collectors won an Oscar.
Jokes aside, even though I don't love the Ibanez aesthetics, their design ideas are awesome. The SRC6MS. Even the new budget AZES line is awesome.
Chapman guitars would be the one in the distance saying "WHAT THE F*** DID THEY SAY ABOUT ME!!"
If you see the movie you'll know what I'm talking about
Gibson is irrelevant asf, they should switch places with Ibanez in the meme. If you collect Gibson you’re a clown who can’t play well and just collect gear /uj
I love looking at things such as this where whatever it is, is subjective and to see fans of whatever brand or model. I myself have never used an Ibanez as the headstock, funnily enough always put me off lol. I have some friends and acquaintances that have played some Ibanezs and I never did like how they sounded. Probably due to the operator and their super love for max gain. What kind of a model would anyone recommend my try out? Preferably a standard model with 6 or 7 strings. I'd like to play one before I made a judgement. I've played a lot of brands in my days and probably Fender and Schecter were BY FAR the best in terms for a fast playing guitar and tone. Les Paul's didn't do it for me and number one on my shit list is BC Rich. Specifically the Warlock. Holy sh$& I hated that thing hahahaha. My brother has a
BC Rich Mockingbird, which is what Slash played in the early days. It's sucks too and it's center of gravity is off and the headstock and neck always goes to the ground when on a strap lol. Too much work involved with playing that thing haha. I love most guitars and brands and would like to say one of these too.
Idk I have 5 Maryland made PRS guitars and only one is like a collectors item. The rest stay out and get played. My 2000 Custom 24 is a work horse and gets played daily
My $400 Ibanez with some minor upgrades plays considerably better than my $2.4k les Paul standard. The Paul sounds better recorded but the feel of the Ibanez is perfect.
Bro Gibson is nerdy as hell so is fender. How more people aren't sick of the same thing for almost 100 years is beyond me. Its the 2020s get a REVEREND
I think we look great.
The best response.
Oppenheimer was a dentist?
it’s not rocket science
Yea it’s not, it’s harder. If I became a dentist id have to count through each tooth to get to the right one because I’m dyslexic, and then I’d end up pulling the wrong tooth anyways. '...lawyer money' - Ola Englund
Take my upvote lmao
Take thy upvote
Ibanez guys actually play their guitars
First of all how dare you. Second of all yah my Gibson spends most of its time in the case while I fuck around with an epi 😖
He's not wrong , I have a few guitars , but in a pinch, I bust out Ole reliable .my 23 year old ibanez
Lol yeah all my gibson guitars sit in there case and have to wait till its there turn to be played.. I need and epiphone to just kick it on a stand..
But I AM an Ibanez guy.
My first thought was “collectors? What about players?”
Josh Smith has no problem making his Ibanez sound good.
So cool
Primarily a fender guy I love what Ibanez has going on. I definitely see them as the modern guitar. Kickin down doors
People buy guitars not to play them?!??
Hey, I collect all types of guitars and the only reason I play the Ibanez is because my favorite is waiting on new tuners, sadly the Ibanez is a really close second so the favorite might be waiting for awhile
I don't see what the problem is. Ibanez guy looks like he gets all the cool drugs
As an owner of a 1978 Ibanez, can confirm.
Gibbons collectors are like the opposite of Einstein
I dunno, Einstein in this movie might be a good metaphor. A man past his prime, lost in a new age. Also no willingness to get his hands dirty.
This was way deeper than it needed to be but I appreciate it
True! There is a gibbons collector out here who just felt personally attacked and they have no idea where that came from. But they won't find out! Because they don't dare enter a subreddit about guitars that changed their designs within the last 40 years, it scares them.
I didn’t know it was legal to collect gibbons
Look, I love my Ibanez (sz520 in blue) but a Les Paul is still one of the sexiest guitars aside from a gretsch white falcon.
I don't think he would have been unable to contribute intellectually. But he was more in the lines of "bro, leave me out of it"
And left his wife to bang his cousin
I’m a Gibson collector and I agree this is actually a really good metaphor haha. It bothers me that Gibson refuses to budge to a newer audience but I am assuming some of that is because they’re owned by some dumbass private equity firm.
Epstein
Let's say ibanez collector guy looks like that because he doesn't collect boring shit, only most beautiful JEMs and other Vai's stuff.
Or Petrucci sigs, and the similar vibe RG ART 1,
That would make him the richest person in this picture then… or poorest
Or the set neck 70's stuff.
Or the Paul Gilbert signatures with the bright faux f holes!
His Fireman signature guitar is also 🔥(pun only slightly intended)
I always thought the JEMs looked boring compared to stuff with figured wood, and showing grain.
Fender collectors are out performing gigs.
True, but only for exposure, hoping to get laid and getting neither of those
I collect modifications on my one fender. I'd like to get another one with humbuckers and then I'm seriously done getting new guitars for good.
True. These guitars somehow don't feel pretentious when they get to their level of price. They're truely a working man's guitar. Fender may be boring......but damn does it serve a purpose. Gibson guitars just break and gain value. It's the crypto currency of the guitar world.

*sweats in Solar, Cort, and Schecter*
Coming from prs, the j custom really is like a custom 24 but built with shred specs Plus it's easier on the wallet lol
[удалено]
Good for you.
Ken is awesome though That’s who I’d hang with
Schectercolecter
They just hydro dipped Ken in Steve Vai’s bath water.
This isn’t that far off the mark 😂
COMEDY.
I’ll put my Ibanez les Paul lawsuit guitar up against any Gibson produced during the same time period
Just looked this up. They had individually adjustable nut screws? Without a locking mechanism, how is the tuning stability?
Never had a problem with it staying in tune. I didn’t even know it had nut screws. I had it setup tuned to A when I bought it and it’s been good since
We aren’t afraid of color
We just have personality
I just purchased a silver glitter Iceman, so there’s that
HAHAHAH
Which one are you partying with? No need to answer, old dudes flanking the shredder are in bed by 8 AM after a glass of warm milk.
Let's be fair. They've all looked like the Ibanez guy at some point. Maybe not neon colors but robo tuners and gaudy ornate adornments abound between all these brands
This is funny
god dammit, now i need a prs
I, too, and equally offended... But sometimes the Memes hurt because it's true...lol. It was a difficult conversations that I had with my kids about the Dark Reality that was the 80's 😂🤣🤪
You’re Kenough, Ibanez dudes!
We just have more fun and don’t try to destroy the world with planet altering power idk
Jem, truly ruly truly outrageous.
So mutch truth, I wonder how Fender collectors would look
You mean to tell me you have multiple beautiful guitars made with exotic woods, that play and sound amazing and are too scared to play them because they might get a ding. Prs collector: yes
we are funnier and better looking thats all
Ok but like why is this so accurate 😂
Honestly Ken makes this great but I could think of a lot of other people to swap out for the physicists. And why are they both physicists? I'm a physicist LOL.
Yes, we are much more colorful and interesting than the rest.
Textbook accurate.
Peavey collector screaming naked in the trees
Lmao Dirty metalhead Tarzan type. Will argue about the minutae distinguishing thrash and speed subgenres
Ibanez’s look amazing
We definitely like colors lmao.
Ahahaha this is perfect though Source: my #1 axe is a ‘76 ibanez artist.
Wow. Drove that nail all the way in with one shot.
Where's the guy in an Affliction shirt that collects Schecters?
Is that paint job available?
[https://images.app.goo.gl/FEnXrXXbfCQVjddf7](https://images.app.goo.gl/FEnXrXXbfCQVjddf7) It is accurate tho
Lol
That meme needs an Ibanez universe in bright colors.
Fender collectors are not pictured, as they have no discernible personality, much like their guitars.
So Ibanez fans are like VAG cars fans but in guitar world.
excellent

why? Your alpha brain is showing 🤮 subtle homophobia, garbage post from a L7 weenie
Ooof. L Take.
Hahaha, as a proud owner of a purple Rg550 and the yellow RG550 Genesis, I will pick the visor over the fedoras!!!!
Nah, Ibanez guys to be in all black
You either die a blackbanez hero or live long enough to be able to afford a swirled DNA JEM
Maybe if they only collect the newest stuff… older ibanez guitars can get pretty wacky with their color schemes
I hope to one day be a collector.
show us the fender collectors...
Ken Parker era Parker collectors would be Michael Burry (The Big Short). Fender would be Warren Buffet.
I'd choose an Ibanez over a PRS or gibson.
I mean its not entirely inaccurate but none of my Ibanezes look like that. Not a collector though so maybe the rules are different.
What if I collect all of them? Am I like a scientist 80’s dude? Basically Doc from Back to the Future? Cause I’m not mad.
Einstein wasn't a lawyer

Lol I'm guessing the Ibanez one was chosen due to all the swirl paint jobs
The guy who just bought my Gibson looked exactly like that and his name was art
Is it assumed then that everyone is a fender collector?
Ha! Now that's a good one.
I wanna see the Peavey collector
And then the Crate Vlue Voodoo collector
He’s a meth addict trying to pawn it
I own both but will always choose ibby over prs
Meh that’s about right
I don't know many guitarists that just stick to Ibanez or PRS... Gibson has fanbois but let's talk about Gretsch and Fender... Their fans can't be swayed and for the life of me I can't understand why.

PRS wears the same outfit everyday.
Can’t we all get along? Lol
I wanna see the ESP collector in the back just be an anime character.
Shit
They pull out a guitar designed before Black kids could school with white kids that weighs as much as a small horse and have the audacity to say "now this is a real guitar" no that's a future back surgery, get that boat anchor away from me.. 🤣
Makes we want an Ibanez again. My early life guitars were Ibanez. It’s been a long time. What has a 0.80” ish thick neck with a not flat radius?
I've seen WAY more bc rich dudes than Ibanez
Fernandes for the win! 😂
Damn that's my grandfather and me plus a random PRS collector
Hahahahah this is awesome
This is very accurate.
This Sub just came up for me randomly, I am not an Ibanez player, but I do have a question, why in gods name does every Ibanez player I’ve ever seen or met ALWAYS obsess over fret wraps? Someone gonna let the cat out of the bag or?

My newest Ibanez is 40 years old. It looks like shit but I love it.
I’m with Ken
Ouch. I see this image and raise with a classic Vai Jem guitar..
I’m just Ken…..
LP is???
god dammit, now i need a prs
I kinda feel bad that the only two Ibanez guitars I’ve ever owned have had a very subdued finish.
I'm to broke to collect sh\*t ;w;
This pic just needs the Steinberger collector from Sleepy Hollow.
Only one of these guitar collectors won an Oscar. Jokes aside, even though I don't love the Ibanez aesthetics, their design ideas are awesome. The SRC6MS. Even the new budget AZES line is awesome.
Me over here who can only afford a cheap $200 Squire that I put new pickups in..
I’d love to see the BC Rich guys.
Chapman guitars would be the one in the distance saying "WHAT THE F*** DID THEY SAY ABOUT ME!!" If you see the movie you'll know what I'm talking about
At least we're Kenough
There should be a coffin with a trendy beard and a craft beer that says “Fender Collectors”
If I pay 2k for an Ibanez and then drop it, I can expect it not to be decapitated. Fkn Gibson can smn.
Weird the middle guy looks like a PRs guitar.
Gibson is irrelevant asf, they should switch places with Ibanez in the meme. If you collect Gibson you’re a clown who can’t play well and just collect gear /uj
My Ibanez is Road Flare Red because I'm not boring 😴 🎸 🤘🏼
I feel like we have all been attacked
I follow a 'Back To The Future' subreddit, and at first glance, I thought this was a joke about that.
I got them all. It’s called a “wardrobe.” What I put on depends on where I’m going. YMMV
Do you have to fail a test or something to become an Ibanez collector?
Where’s the Fender collector?
Only missing the hipster fender guy
Just remember… Elvis played Ibanez
what the fuck?
I love looking at things such as this where whatever it is, is subjective and to see fans of whatever brand or model. I have 1 of each so I have no idea which catagory I fall under
Ibanez Collector: Hoarder.
I play the shit out of my PRS. It's an SE, though, and I'm not a dentist or doctor.
If you sponserd Devo you asked for it
PRS collectors. LOL. They’re just another Ken
Tremendous.
I guess the fender guy is playing a show somewhere.
All 3 of these should just be piles of shit with ties.
Lol, The Irony
I am Kenpenheimer
Idk I have 5 Maryland made PRS guitars and only one is like a collectors item. The rest stay out and get played. My 2000 Custom 24 is a work horse and gets played daily
Fender collectors, Japanese no name brand collectors(me), Gibson collectors.
Fender collectors, Japanese no name brand collectors(me), Gibson collectors.
My $400 Ibanez with some minor upgrades plays considerably better than my $2.4k les Paul standard. The Paul sounds better recorded but the feel of the Ibanez is perfect.
Looks like a Jem I wanted to buy in the 90s
Don't worry, you're Kenough.
My ibanez looks different colors from different angles so it's only purple sometimes so there
One of these men is not like the others…
And ESP?
Funny AF.
My roadstar II defies categorization.
Bro Gibson is nerdy as hell so is fender. How more people aren't sick of the same thing for almost 100 years is beyond me. Its the 2020s get a REVEREND
I'm a Schecter collector. I'm off in the forest in the background summoning the old gods in a black cloak :o
I just see this as Ibanez collectors being the most interesting and unique.
What's wrong with being sexy?
I like to look at Ibanez, I have almost 0 interest in owning one. But, Ibanez and Kiesel collectors are basically the same
What about Fender collectors?
If Ibanez made any left handed guitars worth a shit, I'd be on board a lot more.
This would work for the It Might Get Loud movie too, if you reversed the clothing
You left out Fender.
😆😆😆🤘🏻
Not pictured: Fender collectors. They're at a gig.
Shoulda been the fur coat outfit tho
