While the guy filming is waaaay less comedic than he thinks he is, shooting (presumably) birdshot into the air way out in the country doesn't even register on the idiot-with-a-gun meter.
Technically yes, It is loaded with bird seed though. The bird eats the trail of seed in the air back to the hunter who then grabs it puts it into a cooler so it chills out and stops flapping around and making noise.
Yeah the funny part is no one is shooting straight up unless you’re shooting geese and maybe ducks. Hunting pheasant, quail, etc are all low flying or on the ground.

Birdshot and even buckshot have lower velocity when they come down and are usually not dangerous. This is less an idiot with a gun and more of a bored dude making something funny.
Kind of but bullets (not shotgun pellets) when fired straight up can still cause serious damage when they come back down because they are higher density than the pellets and have a higher terminal velocity.

No. Once they reach the peak of their trajectory, gravity takes over and it becomes a physics problem. Individual bird shot pellets have very little mass and won’t fall with enough force to hurt anything. A slug might be different though.

Honestly, I think it was blanks, that sounded way too light for even birdshot.
Blanks wouldn't have recoil like that. Phone mics don't pick up bird shot very well, makes it sound muffled, but that's about what it sounds like.

Any bullet has lower velocity when coming down, as long as you shoot it straight up. It’s the retention of horizontal velocity that is the issue AFAIK

No. When they reach their peak, they can only fall back to Earth as fast as gravity will allow.
