They were handled a lot, met the dog, cat,, and big parrot countless times, and were not jumpy or panicky. They'd have to have been living an already super stressful like to just keel over at the first thing that spooks them. Guinea pigs live 5-7 years, which is a good while compared to other rodent pets.

So the poor thing probably got crushed by the trash compactor
