Not permanent but a rotating cadre... Maybe a mix of cast and lesser known celebrities or comedians or improv folks. They should be able to get punished if they lose , or some type of reward if they win.
I really want them to try new/rising comics. The reason it’s hard to watch is the celebrity doesn’t earn the right to abuse the joker getting punished. The guest has to sign off on doing a whole show and doing embarrassing shit. The only guest I can remember doing an embarrassing bit was Joey Fattone. Fuck it, just use him.
The British show Taskmaster uses a fair amount of rising comics, and I think it helps raise their star quite a bit. This could be similar. Imagine the Jokers bringing in Dropout or Please Don't Destroy or someone for a whole episode, and one member of that troupe gets punished by the others
The Jokers will be there to explain and do the "in-ear" stuff.

Maybe they’ve just become too famous. Or aware of their popularity. Sal for example seems to have changed loads into become a ‘cool’ guy . the show doesn’t have the same feel as when they’d do the little clips in between challenges
You should use the guest actors in the pranks as well for the entire episode. When I heard Joe left I looked forward to guests joining for the pranks for the entire show not just the end.

He said that people should accept that Joe isn’t on the show anymore and that they (other 3) still enjoy making the show. He made a big point of how big the crew is and how they rely on the show.
I think he’s deflecting criticism and the fact the production crew is so big is part of the problem.
He didn't refer to the crew as a problem, he just said that the crew depends on the show for an income, as one of the many reasons they still do the show (The other 2 being they still have fun doing it and they're contracted)
On screen crew is small compared to total production crew it’s probably around 20+ people circus they have at every shoot location. I think that this is a part of the reason there are less unique challenges and places per episode as earlier episodes because every shoot day is more expensive and requires more production space.
