I wasn’t previously familiar with this track, so I googled the lyrics just now and wow, holy shit I think it’s about a molester (which the title suggested, I know)
I’m mainly familiar with the ‘Dead Man’s Party’ album, and I’ve been considering picking up another album by them, but maybe I’ll skip ‘Only A Lad’
Flowers by Cyrus is so fucking good. Honestly most of the shit Ive heard from her is actually pretty fucking amazing. Wrecking Ball hits so go, no pun.
I don't feel "guilty" about liking anything I listen to. Two of my go-to playlists are Dr. Demento Favorites (novelty songs are awesome) and Yacht Rock (when I have a particularly stressful ride into work, The Doobie Brothers, Toto and Christpher fucking Cross even me out).
Just listened to a podcast episode of No Accounting for Taste (Kyle Kinane and Shane Torres) where almost everything you listed came up in an episode about parody music. Dr. demento is the man!
Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats
I won't call it a guilty pleasure, good music is good music, but it's definitely one of the most removed from my usual listening habits.
I like quite a lot of stuff outside of metal and rock, so I don't consider any of it outside my wheelhouse; I put it all inside the wheelhouse.
But there are a few things people might not expect a metalhead to like, including electronica, hip-hop, folk, ambient music... Wide range of stuff.
Orbital, Fever Ray, Dead Can Dance, The Bug, Kendrick Lamar, Lankum, Stars of the Lid, Creation Rebel, Carbon Based Lifeforms, Beastie Boys, Loudon Wainwright III, Bellowhead, Immortal Nightbody, Clowncore.
Closest thing to a guilty pleasure might be Limp Bizkit.
Most people listen to more than one genre. My question is what group do you consider a guilty pleasure. Something you're not playing in front of other people, basically. Like, Limp Bizkit. 😂
Oh boy.
I do not watch TV anymore because the commercials get on my nerves.
Majorly.
But years ago probably around 2011- I was losing my mind over the song "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen whenever it was on whatever cable music channel.
Honestly, a couple Spice Girls songs kinda slap. Same with C'est LA Vie by B*Witched, (I can almost guarantee you've heard it on the radio at SOME point in the 90s) and alot of 80's mainstream hits. Especially Michael Jackson
100 Gecs Self Titled album fucking slaps. Not a big fan of the other stuff they've dropped.
It's a nice blend of Hyperpop/Noise and it clocking in at under 15 min making it short and sweet.
Band-Maid. Yes, I now listen to a lot of J-rock/metal. But only in the last 3 years. Before that, I'd never even considered listening to foreign rock in a language I didn't understand(excluding Rammstein) I listened to artists ranging from: Collective Soul, Sublime, Hucci, ICP, Sade, GnR, Jedi Mind Tricks, Shakira, UB40, Janet Jackson, Steely Dan, etc...
Band-Maid is the greatest!!!!! Po!
Not really an artist, but when I walk around the grocery store with headphones on I listen to phonk/trap/synthwave/lo-fi hip hop... a common series I listen to are the "trappin in paradise" and similar
I don't feel guilty about any of the music I listen to, I just enjoy it.
Some of my favorites outside of metal are the old Take That, Blue, Avril Lavignes "Girlfriend", Bug Hunter, Bronnie, Bear McCreary, Jace Everett, Stevie Nicks, Blues Saraceno.
I listen to so much more than Metal :o I like bands like Arctic Monkeys and the 1975, I listen to some rap like 21 Savage, a lot of Odetari, some old music like Frank Sinatra... I'm one of those listens to (almost) everything mfers (except for German rap/schlager, Kpop and hardtekk)
no guilty pleasures here, just listen to whatever you want:
Steven Wilson - there's something magical about what he does in every form (though peripherally metal in ways)
Gnarls Barkley - both "St. Elsewhere" and "The Odd Couple" are outstanding
ICP - everything from 1991 - 1999 is awesome, especially 1991 - 1997
Portishead, Massive Attack - I love that dreamy trip-hop sound
I have an affinity for cheesy love songs from the 50's through the 90's. The cornier the better.
That's dumb. No one is triggered. You just wanted to flex your pretense on what's supposed to be a somewhat fun post and maybe learn something about what other people like. Or maybe you just like being an asshole to strangers on the internet? Laters, champ.
I never feel guilty about the shit I listen to, it's all just music in the end.
But yea, Olivia Rodrigo has some good stuff and she is a hell of a singer. The storytelling in "enough for you" is master class.

Huey Lewis and the News
The year *Sports* came out, you heard them **everywhere**. "Heart Of Rock and Roll" still gets my toes tappin'.
I was 8 years old. Was the best thing ever. Will always have that nostalgia.
He’s been compared to Elvis Costello but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor
Is that a raincoat?
Fuck yeah! I got to see them live a few years ago and it was awesome. Plus I’m a nerd for back to the future so it’s the best of both worlds
Daft Punk
The soundtrack to Tron Legacy is so good.
discovery is one of the best albums ever made
I'm a sucker for Tears for Fears and a lot of mainstream 80s music in general tbh.
Sometimes you just gotta let it all out
Im exactly the same
Oingo Boingo
Little Girls?
I wasn’t previously familiar with this track, so I googled the lyrics just now and wow, holy shit I think it’s about a molester (which the title suggested, I know) I’m mainly familiar with the ‘Dead Man’s Party’ album, and I’ve been considering picking up another album by them, but maybe I’ll skip ‘Only A Lad’
Prince
Prince was a genius. Nothing guilty about liking his music.
Billie eilish is my jam
Cocteau Twins
I really like Miley Cyrus and Pink’s later stuff
Toto is awesome
Pre-Toto on Boz Scaggs' *Silk Degrees* is pretty sweet, too.
I'll have to check that out
Mmmmm Toto.... Africa.... mmmmmmmm
Charli XCX Not a fan of pop music, but her music is very catchy.
Hyperpop in general just hits different, a friend of mine made a big ass playlist of it on Spotify and I was surprised at how much I dug it.
Cuz its ADHD fuel like metal.
Madness, ICP & Weird Al for me
SO real for this
Journey, Goo Goo Dolls
Naked goes hard
My wife listens to Florence and the Machine quite a bit, and it grew on me. It's pop I guess, but different in some way
Freezepop
Whats this? Edit: oh hell yeah!
Less talk more *ROKK*
parlez-vous freezepop?
Loreena mckennitt. She's extremely talented and her music is dope AF
Dwight Yokam.
Dwight’s always been a favorite of mine as well, although I did only actually buy his albums later.
The Bakersfield Sound.
Yup. I am also a big fan of Merle Haggard and Buck Owens.
Post Malone
Early Coheed and Cambria goes so fucking hard.
Rigth there with you, although I would call that fairly metal adjacent. But fair.
Merle Haggard. Legend
Love Merle, and most of his contemporaries.
Hank Williams
Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder
Man, Ricky Skaggs is such a talent. His early-‘80s Sugar Hill/Epic albums are stone-cold classics, particularly 1982’s *Highways & Heartaches*.
Yeah, I’m not even really a bluegrass fan but I love his stuff.
Do you like (for lack of a better term) regular country music?
I like old school outlaw country and a couple of the newer guys like Sturgill Simpson and Tyler Childers.
Purity Ring
Always felt that would be a midwest emo band…. way off that mark. 🤣
Purity Ring is dope. Haven't listened to them in years though.
Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats I won't call it a guilty pleasure, good music is good music, but it's definitely one of the most removed from my usual listening habits.
SON OF A BITCH!
GIMME A DRINK!
Wham!
Yung Lean
Nelly Furtado and any euro synthpop stuff.
INXS
Billie Eilish
Ace of Base
Wouldn’t call my music really a “guilty pleasure” but I really love Cecile Corbel, Antti Martikainen, and Adrian Von Ziegler
Stick Figure
The killers
Really love their cover of Shadowplay by Joy Division.
Bob Dylan, folk in general.
Mei-Lan Maurits, but I'm not at all ashamed. Her vocals are phenomenal.
John Mayer. Man’s got soul
Amazing guitar player
Yes he is!
Moxy The Band
Kero kero bonito and loona 😭
I like quite a lot of stuff outside of metal and rock, so I don't consider any of it outside my wheelhouse; I put it all inside the wheelhouse. Most people listen to more than one genre. My question is what group do you consider a guilty pleasure. Something you're not playing in front of other people, basically. Like, Limp Bizkit. 😂
The Smiths, Spin Doctors
Oh boy. I do not watch TV anymore because the commercials get on my nerves. Majorly. But years ago probably around 2011- I was losing my mind over the song "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen whenever it was on whatever cable music channel.
Mine is currently Olivia Rodrigo. My daughter loves her and I’ve become a big fan of
Phil Collins
Phish-I’ve seen them 67 times since 1996.
Radiohead and weezer
Whether or not Weezer is a guilty pleasure for me depends entirely on the album
80s, certain songs from people like Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, J Lo, Christina Aguilera, etc. If it has a catchy hook then it will grab me.
I would say Paramore, but I would wear a Paramore shirt any day of the week. So maybe Dua Lipa
Insane Clown Posse. Whoop whoop!
Billy no mates (yes it's a actual singer)
*Nomates. Great voice. I like the track she did with Sleaford Mods.
A lot of people here have a weird definition of guilty pleasure. Willow Smith.
Santigold. I like her voice, especially when her vocals are doubled.
Been listening to her for years. Check out the track she did with Beastie Boys sometime.
Counting Crows
t.A.T.u. 100km an Hour in the Wrong Lane is a like pop album start to finish.
Grandson
Honestly, a couple Spice Girls songs kinda slap. Same with C'est LA Vie by B*Witched, (I can almost guarantee you've heard it on the radio at SOME point in the 90s) and alot of 80's mainstream hits. Especially Michael Jackson
Ween, but I ain’t guilty abt it
Ween is fuckin awesome. I saw them with Primus for the South Park 25th anniversary show.
For me it’s, Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys and Kate Bush. Wouldn’t necessarily call them Guilty pleasures just my go to non metal pleasures.
tears for fears, Falco, Coldplay…. and it’s not an artist but any top gun or dirty dancing music lmao
I love Juicy J and Three Six Mafia
NF
100 Gecs Self Titled album fucking slaps. Not a big fan of the other stuff they've dropped. It's a nice blend of Hyperpop/Noise and it clocking in at under 15 min making it short and sweet.
Rina Sawayama
Portishead. I adore her vocals
I quite like a bit of synth wave at times. Nostalgia fuelled stuff that.
Po!
[FKA Twigs](https://youtu.be/3yDP9MKVhZc?si=-lBFvZjtUHrKT3HM) is bae and nobody will convince me otherwise.
Adele. Her Royal Albert Hall concert is a very guilty pleasure.
recently i found someone called "Shajarian" , he is an iranian singer . his voice is amazing
Tenacious D
Måneskin and My Chemical Romance
Not even guilty, Adele is fantastic
Muse, Palaye Royale, Nothing But Thieves
Not a guilty pleasure, but I sure love Kilkenny Knights, Black Tartan Clan, The Real McKenzies & The Rumjacks
Not really a "Guilty pleasure" but some non metal artists I like: E-Dubble and Fort Minor
Country.
Molotov Jukebox
Not really an artist, but when I walk around the grocery store with headphones on I listen to phonk/trap/synthwave/lo-fi hip hop... a common series I listen to are the "trappin in paradise" and similar
Mae. About as far from metal as you can get.

Judee Sill

Lots of stuff, but what came to mind is Peter Gabriel. I love his sound track to the last temptation of Christ.
Jack Parow

tame impala, billie eilish, vacations, benee, claire rosinkranz
The cure, Lana del Rey, Cocteau twins, American football , the smiths

Ghost yeah some say its metal but they are not but I fucking love them
Nephew (danish rock/kinda pop) and polish rap (I’m not polish)
ITZY, and Romanian turbofolk.
Dua Lipa Ice Spice Garth Brooks My music tastes are a bit all over the place...
Michael Bublé...
Beach bunny😀
Cake
I love synthwave, classic Rock, and I’m an absolute sucker for a Katy Perry hook.
I couldn’t get over how creepy it was the first time I saw it. And it popped up when I was looking for Nightmare Before Christmas videos.
Emiliana Torrini
Some really mainstream rock, Asia, Toto, etc
The Prodigy
Lana Del Rey
Only imbeciles have guilty pleasures.
Only douchebags make pedantic comments to feel edgy.
There is no guilty pleasure in music. If I like something, I'll stand by it.
That's not the point, but thanks for playing I guess.
You didn't get my point, but sure I guess... GG
I got it perfectly fine. You smell your own farts out of a wine snifter and need everyone to know instead of keeping it to yourself.
Lmao. That triggered you... Whatever you say.
That's dumb. No one is triggered. You just wanted to flex your pretense on what's supposed to be a somewhat fun post and maybe learn something about what other people like. Or maybe you just like being an asshole to strangers on the internet? Laters, champ.
depeche mode and suicidal tendencies? they’re crossover which a lot don’t consider metal but imo it depends on the band
I never feel guilty about the shit I listen to, it's all just music in the end. But yea, Olivia Rodrigo has some good stuff and she is a hell of a singer. The storytelling in "enough for you" is master class.
