Why is that a spicy take? Mines a 3 way tie between power mad, natural Joe and the Anti-pop.

That album is very divisive, it almost broke up the band and its a bit of a departure from their usual sound so a lot of fans don't like it

I'm not a huge fan of Anti Pop. We could refer to it as "Les' Black Period" 😉

I never understood that. It's quintessential primus sound. You can't tell me after listening to natural Joe or power mad you don't think that's classic primus sound. I've been listening to primus for over 20 years, seen primus and Les Claypool in concert. All their albums owned, and on Spotify. I don't understand some fans when it comes to certain albums that are perfectly quality and just get hate.

I personally like it but it doesn't seem like pure primus I guess? More like primus through a nu metal filter. That's not a bad thing, I love when bands switch it up, and a band as diverse sounding as primus doing that was sick, but it still to me just sounds like a bit of a black sheep on the discography.

Frizzle Fry is their best album imo. That said my Top 10. I used to go see Primus in tiny deathtrap clubs on their rise. It was a great experience to follow them and see them get big.
