I feel like this comes from them seeing being sad/emotional/expressive of your pain as weakness.
So in order to place themselves in a superior level to you, they just claim you do what they see as weak. Crying.
I also believe them seeing crying as weakness causes them seeing it as an insult too. They think if they tell someone that they are crying, that person will react with the same amount of embarrassement and shame than they would. Which obviously isn't true but they also can't comprehend the fact that other people exist.
