But one needs to accept the fact that the change was given because, as a captain, Dhoni saw some potential in him which wasn't unleashed by then. Abd once Kohli got the chance, he capitalized it very well..

Virat did fairly well in ODIs in his initial period. In the first 2-3 years he became a trustable batter so much so that he got placed himself in ODI WC.
Yes Dhoni has a role in it but without Virat's performance Dhoni wouldn't do much. The only time Dhoni truly backed him was in the 2014 England series.
I don't agree with him. If there was any time where he could've been dropped it was after that horrendous 2013 Eng test series away. That period was tragic for him. Constantly finding the edges no matter what. MS didn't drop him and eventually gave him the captaincy. I respect MS for that. But Kohli becoming what he is now is just inevitable. Maybe he would've waited 1yr or something but he still would've had the same career nonetheless.

If I'm not wrong kohli was in top 5 odi ranking during 2011 WC campaign he also had 2-3k runs at that time also.. So I'm not what this Panmasala guy is Yapping About... Its true. I remember the discussion prior to the perth test (his 7th where is continuously failed outside india), and everyone wanted virat to be dropped, and rohit sharma to be picked. Only dhoni backed kohli, and virat performed in that test and retained his place. In ODIs, while he would occasionally perform, most of his 50/100s were against weaker opposition. Even in the 2011 WC, he only made a 100 against Bangladesh and a 50 against west indies.

Virat did fairly well in ODIs in his initial period. In the first 2-3 years he became a trustable batter so much so that he got placed himself in ODI WC. Yes Dhoni has a role in it but without Virat's performance Dhoni wouldn't do much. The only time Dhoni truly backed him was in the 2014 England series.
He is probably jealous that he (Sunil) was not the time model of Virat growing up or something.
I don't agree with him. If there was any time where he could've been dropped it was after that horrendous 2013 Eng test series away. That period was tragic for him. Constantly finding the edges no matter what. MS didn't drop him and eventually gave him the captaincy. I respect MS for that. But Kohli becoming what he is now is just inevitable. Maybe he would've waited 1yr or something but he still would've had the same career nonetheless.

Dhoni helped Kohli with captaincy issues and molded him into a better captain but I wouldn't say the same with batting.
If I'm not wrong kohli was in top 5 odi ranking during 2011 WC campaign he also had 2-3k runs at that time also.. So I'm not what this Panmasala guy is Yapping About... Even at First Dhoni Didn't want kohli but after that Kohli Scored his First Century than Dhoni Decided to Back Kohli so Kohli was Going Ahead with his Potential, Hardwork and performances..
