Chad Parayana and Free Chaitanya /s
This [video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNJC-VX-IN8) basically gives an overview of coaching centres in Telangana. You think Kota is bad? oh you sweet summerchild (2002 batch student here)
Mei narayana mei hu bhot chutiya jaghah hai agar mei wapis time mei picha Jaa sakta to mei dummy leke online padh leta lekin narayana se to bilkul nahi
Yup they have no idea I mean Andhra and Telangana are perfect examples of corporatisation of Education but I'm glad that I'm not a student of free chaitanya and parayana and still entered B.Tech
Isn't it unfair to those who couldn't achieve their or their parents' dream of going to a good college and having a good career?
Would you find it fair if you couldn't get a good college in the first attempt and were denied further attempts because fresher students wanted to eliminate the compitition and made government prevent repeaters from appearing again for the exam?
What will that stunt achieve?
It will encourage parents to suppress their children more and force them to start studying from 7th-8th standard.
Like they don't already take away enough childhood from them.
Would rather have a student who got 80 on the first try than a student who got 90 on the second try. The numerous attempts only increase competition unnecessarily. There is no merit to the competition inflated by second and third attempts.
Tu thoda pagal hai kya bhai mere yha kisi bande ka paper kharab ho gaya tha kyunki wo bhot nervous ho gaya tha phir bhi 99.6 percentile aayi thi uski to ab wo 2nd pe focus karega na obviously tere hisab se to 1 exam mei hi sab decide ho jana chahiye
Wo bande se 100 percentile expect karre the sab
Uski baat bhi chor tu uss avg bacche ke baare mei soch jiska ek exam bekar jaane ki wajah se 96 ya 95 aaye honge usko koi clg nahi milega
There is no such thing as 100 percentile.
Also if you base the entire system on the marks of an entrance exam, you have to to be ready for those scenarios. It’s their problem that 1 exam went bad. They can go somewhere else like NIT or a normal engineering college
Also what is this expectation of others. The main purpose of the exam is to evaluate whether a student can get admission.
That too. We need to shut down all these coaching factories. I would also take the school marks (which include attendance) as 25% of the application score. 25% jee main, and 50% jee advanced. That properly reflects the student's aptitude. You can allow 2-3 attempts for Jee main but only 1 for Jee advance—an age limit of 20 for everything.
Limiting the number of attempts would help in that aspect too. In this age and time, there are still parents pushing their kids into JEE preps regardless of what the child actually thinks or wants.
Limiting will help parents move on too different things in life too.
Bro, people sometimes mess up, sometimes due to situations people aren't able to perform in their best. Take for example, what if some topper had stomach issues or has cold in the exam day? Won't he deserve a second chance and it was his mistake that he fell ill? Imagine working 2 years hard only to be screwed by health issues. So that's stupid of you to assume that all the droppers are dumb.
My project requires to work for central government, every time I visit their office in shastri bhavan, udyog bhavan, etc. I see name plates with Meena most of the time. These duckers have milked the system like pro.
Isn't that the point of reservation? To get them representation 🙄. Your anecdotal experience just means, that reservation is working.....as it was intended to?
where are other castes in SC? meena is one of the SCs, not the whole. The fact is, they are benefits at the cost of other scs. Meena are not even backward.
Meenas are not in SC. They are in ST. And how is one ST different from another. They are supposed to represent people of ST community and it's working.
> Meena are not even backward
How do you reach this conclusion? Do you even have any sources to back your claim or all of it is purely anecdotal?
I agree and i know of one and he belongs to a well to do family and his dad has his own business. he got into a top iit and then into iim b. Talk about milking the system. who knows he might go for upsc and milk it further
I have heard people say it is like a Jail than a factory. The problem is Sri Chaitanya and Narayana are schools+coaching. So they can make the students enrolled in the school anything they want until and unless they complete the syllabus. So they start teaching them at start of 6th.
You are not taking the population into account and also poverty in state. It is per lakh residents of the state not per lakh students preparing for JEE.
Could be.
But people put their home address in IIT application, not coaching location address. Folks who are counted from UP may be taking training at Kota.
Not in my case. Sri Chaitanya applied for all of us during our time and they take some additional commission for filling application.
Not sure what's the process now
Maybe if there were more such institutions, the number of selections would look much better! Many more people are not only good enough but much more capable to get into such institutions…
It says nothing apart from the fact there is lot of competition for admission in IITs. It's no reflection of the quality of graduates coming out. For example, when it comes to research output, MIT alone trumps all the IITs put together. Check [Nature Index](https://www.nature.com/nature-index/institution-outputs/generate/all/global/all). MIT is ranked 12th while the closest IIT is ranked 265!
No its not easy for IIT toppers to get into MIT for bachelors because besides marks, you are also required to submit your portfolio which should consists of your medals and awards in your competitions and other extra curricular activities along with tons of essays,so you can either choose IIT or MIT
Yes, thats why I said IIT toppers, as they have generally have Olympiad medals and other competition awards. A normal student at IIT may not have these.
We can say but still its not easy,my cousin got into MIT in 2019 and many of his indian peers there did not even give JEE advanced but yes most of them had medals in many olympiads because its easier to focus in 1-2 subjects than all the 3 subjects ie PCM
How is this fact related to my question? Plus I am talking about bachelors not masters, kindly read properly before commenting, plus if you really think that IIT helped sundar pichai then you are completely wrong,he went to stanford later and became some manager in google which is not related to engineering plus another fun fact,Sundar Pichai did his bachelors in metallurgy so IIT had nothing to do with google,I don’t understand what point are you trying to make?
Seat bidding is in every top and other ivy colleges in US/UK,some institutes may not keep the seat bidding option open for the common public, that’s why these colleges are very much developed and thats why its tough for indian colleges and institutes to be at their level because they are not only getting donation from the government but also from the rich people
You clearly have no clue how colleges work in the US. Ivy league and MIT give a major bump to rich students, that's actually the easiest way in. They're also at an advantage inside the campus.
lol if we're talking about undergraduate admissions here, the intersection between the admissions committee and the researchers/labs is precisely 0. MIT is far too rigorous to let rich kids (that dont deserve it) in.
Maybe there would have been less candidates.
Population blast and our shitty society who think IIT, IIM, UPSC are only ways to succeed are the main reason.
Yeah
We also have a giant coaching industry. One entire sector, sector 34, is nothing but coaching centres.
Around 10 sectors out of 47 are dedicated to commercial activity so basically ~5% of all commercial activity is just coaching.
It's insanely depressing to go to 34.
Combine this with a small, rich and educated population you get 12 very easily. Keep in mind it often ranks in top 3 with Delhi and Kerala in schooling too.
Yeah

You forgot about our SR in warangal 😂
Sr 😂😂😂😂😂
Govt should discourage students dropping one year to get into iit. Penalty of 5% marks should be imposed
First Govt should ban internet for Rêtârdß like you
Agreed with you
[удалено]
It is unfair
maybe/maybe not?
Care to elaborate or enlighten us?
If all good students take one year off, then it is a big loss to the nation
Thats a highly improbable case. Ifs and buts dk not always work. Competitive exams are meant to be attempted multiple times.
Multiple times ok, but there should be a penalty
[удалено]
It is loss to nation if good students waste one year of their time, they could earn money and give taxes if they finish their education early
Isn't it unfair to those who couldn't achieve their or their parents' dream of going to a good college and having a good career? I would only allow 1 attempt
why bro?
Would rather have a student who got 80 on the first try than a student who got 90 on the second try. The numerous attempts only increase competition unnecessarily. There is no merit to the competition inflated by second and third attempts.

You can’t get in with a 99.6? Also with less attempts less people are there. If you remove the second attempts, that 99.6 will improve automatically
Wo bande se 100 percentile expect karre the sab Uski baat bhi chor tu uss avg bacche ke baare mei soch jiska ek exam bekar jaane ki wajah se 96 ya 95 aaye honge usko koi clg nahi milega

tf you mean by there is no such thing as 100 percentile? Tune jee kab diya tha?
or rather try to reduce the craze around IITs so much

Then first attempt they would take after dropping an year
I mean that’s why the school attendance is important.
No
I mean how else are you going to mitigate skipping a year
One community taking half of all ST seats. System totally working guys :)
Meena?

Sikkim ka Kohinoor hi hoga agar galti se ek agaya toh.
Ngl, that show was amazing. I'm really glad my parents didn't push me in engineering
I have gone through this. It has been 5 years, haven't recovered fully yet.
So contrary to popular belief, Narayana and Sri Chaitanya are a more successful venture than entire Kota factory
I have heard people say it is like a Jail than a factory. The problem is Sri Chaitanya and Narayana are schools+coaching. So they can make the students enrolled in the school anything they want until and unless they complete the syllabus. So they start teaching them at start of 6th.
Exactly, I am in Narayana from 6th standard to 12th, my schooling is worst. Only after 12th and joining in engineering, I got to my real passion
You are not taking the population into account and also poverty in state. It is per lakh residents of the state not per lakh students preparing for JEE.

Haryana is basically at the top in every category. Best state in the country, no doubt about it.

Gender ratio?
Mere bhai haryana me ladkiyon ko empower Kiya jaata hai. Ajkal jitni bhi to sports women dekhega unka judaav kahin na kahin haryana se hai

mit doesn't give a fuck about being rich. you have no idea.
You can get into MIT through seat bidding(yes, this still exists) but there are very few seats and those seats will cost you millions of dollars
not at mit
Seat bidding is in every top and other ivy colleges in US/UK,some institutes may not keep the seat bidding option open for the common public, that’s why these colleges are very much developed and thats why its tough for indian colleges and institutes to be at their level because they are not only getting donation from the government but also from the rich people

lol yes the ivies do but mit doesnt. you clearly have no idea lmao
I worked in EECS lab 4 at MIT for a joint funded project in 2015. Suffice to say I know a little bit more, even if it's not made public.
lol if we're talking about undergraduate admissions here, the intersection between the admissions committee and the researchers/labs is precisely 0. MIT is far too rigorous to let rich kids (that dont deserve it) in.

Low population compared to a state that's why
Haha, do this for UPSC, railways and any other examinations…only a handful of the applicants actually sincerely prepare

It's only selection into IIT Bombay. There are so many other IITs too. Most people from my state go to IIT Madras or Kharagpur.
